View 4 RepliesCurrently my Macro should: Turn off any filtersNumber column A from 1 to 1000 (starting in A14)Drags formula from K14-O14 down to last row of data shown in column Athen puts cursor in last empty cell in column B ready for user to enter data
On point 3 - I want the range to be K14-O14 if active worksheet equals "EXCHANGES" but if its on the "VALUATIONS" tab the autofill range should be L14-P14
I have found bits and pieces of macros on the internet and put them together so if my macro below is not the most effective for my needs but here it is in it's current state:

I am trying to write a macro which will autofill specific columns. The macro will set the range from the start of my autofill to the end of my autofill as a constant range.
The problem I need to get around is the end of my range can always change each time I run the macro. For instance, the first time I run the macro I may only need to autofill from row 4 to row 15. The next time, I may only need to autofill from row 4 to 23 (because of user updates). How can I make the end of my range not be a constant address but variable?
I cant seem to get sumif to operate properly on cells that use weeknum and edate.

In a macro - how can you copy a cell and keep a data range absolute?
In the statement below, the range denoted by: DATA!RC[-52]:R[829]C[-52] is D2:D829. When I use the macro to Autofill using the following:
(Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range("BG2:BG220"), Type:=xlFillDefault)
the range progresses. I need to have the range as an absolute.
Sheets("Report").Select
Range("BG2").Select
Selection.FormulaArray = _
"=SUM((DATA!RC[-52]:R[829]C[-52]=""APPOINTMENT"")*(DATA!RC[-55]:R[829]C[-55]>=Report!RC[-1])*(DATA!RC[-55]:R[829]C[-55]
I have a matrix of coordinates in sheet ("layout") (eastings - V4:BR4, northings - U5:U100). I'm trying to run through each northing (row value U5:U100), for every easting (V4:BR4), by writing the coordinate value to sheet("ISO_model"), cell K18. Within the sheet (ISO_model) there is a model which gives an output in cell HA500. I'd like to write this output (for the specific easting and northing) back into the sheet ("layout"), so that I then have the x,y, z values to create a contour plot.
I've tried to start the look through the row of eastings, but it is not working.
Sub noise_contour()
For Each Cell In Range("V4:BR4")
'write coordinate into the model

eg say you call (ie insert a range name) cell A1 "firstcell", B1 "secondcell", then A2 "divisor1" and B2 "divisor2". if you put a formula in A3 which is "=A1/A2", how do you copy and paste this formula into B3 but getting the formula to reference B1/B2 rather than firstcell/divisor1, as it does by default?

How can I auto fill a range while leaving the cell number the same?
Code: =IF(AND(B4>=c2,b4=c2,b4=c2,b5=c2,b6=c2,b7=D2,b4=E2,b4=F2,b4=G2,b4=H2,b4
For our attendance register, the master data table holds a list of all club members (one member per row).
The master data table consists of formula columns, data columns, and two data columns with drop-down list validation.
I'm using this
I want to have a range of days in a cell, for example in cell A1 will have may 2-may 9. when I use the autofill handle I want A2 cell to read may 10 - may 17 and then if I use it again A3 will read may 18- may 25 and then roll over to the next month . As it stand right now if I put in may 2 - may 9 and use the autofill handle the next cell down will read may 2 - may 10.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have searched the forum a few times and haven't seen an exact example of what I am trying to do, so I hope this isn't a duplicate.
I am looking for a macro to copy a cell and autofill it down the column until it gets to a non-blank cell. When it reaches that cell it needs to then copy THAT cell down until it reaches another non-blank cell... this could happen just a couple times, a couple dozen times, or only the very first time.
So for example:
In cell B2 there is text "Data1"
In cell B13 there is text "Data2"
In cell B25 there is text "Data3"
I would like the macro to search column B to find "Data1", and then copy it down the column until it reaches B13, then copy "Data2" down until B25, where it would then copy "Data3" down until the end of the document. The location of the data in column B varies, and the number of cells with data in column B will vary as well.
Copy and paste the formula into a range or paste a formula into the first cell in the range and autofill down for remainder of cells?
P.S. when autofilling down, can I specify somehow for it to stop at the last row with data in adjacent cell?
I'll do what I can to explain this mess I want to clear up...I have a series of excel reports I have to download and work thru daily and I need to see if there is a code to autofill down thru a column, based on multiple statements throughout the column..here goes:
f1 msp
f2 msp
f3 blank **
f4 mct
f5 mct
f6 mct
f7 blank **
f8 cci
f9 blank **
Regardless of the actual f cell, I always will need to fill the Blank ** cell w/ the values from the previous cell....Hope this makes sense...& thanks in advance....

I'm making a dashboard and currently using a camera tool to show a sheet in a different workbook.
However the camera shot should show the sheet for the current month. (the workbook contains 12 sheets one for each month)
I was trying to reference a cell within the dashboard workbook in the formula bar to select the correct month.
[Code] .....
This is the workbook being referenced and
[Code] ....
This is what I have to try select the sheet with the right month. W2 contains whatever month it currently is.
I get that this formula is wrong because I'm referencing a sheet/cell in the dashboard workbook right after calling the tracking workbook, I just don't know how to write it correctly.
I have an Excel file for work that has the following:
Column 1 is Agent
Column 2 is Interval (in 15 minute intervals from a report that I pulled)
Column 3 is Agent Calls (has a number anywhere from 1 - the highest currently is 19, which tells me how many calls that Agent had on that 15 minute interval.)
What I have currently is that if it says:
John Doe 15:00 5
It will automatically insert rows after the number based on a # -1, so it will add 4 empty rows after this row.
I have another step that will automatically copy Column 1 and Column 2 to the blank rows directly beneath them until it reaches a cell with data.
Now, what I need is a macro that will take Column C and where it says 5 automatically know to change that to '5a' then proceed to go down the list with 5b, 5c, 5d, & 5e. If it sees 4 it will know to change that to '4a' then proceed to go down the list with 4b, 4c, & 4d. I currently have numbers ranging from 2 - 19.
I have built custom list with this information so if I change all the numbers from 4 to 4a or 19 to 19a and double click on the black box it will autofill exactly like I want but it only goes down to the next cell with data, and I have 100+ lines per agent, and up to 21 agents a day, so this gets time consuming.
Here's how it looks when I'm ready to start the macro:
JohnDoe - Doe, John15:00 x
JohnDoe - Doe, John15:15 4a
JohnDoe - Doe, John15:15
JohnDoe - Doe, John15:15
JohnDoe - Doe, John15:15
JohnDoe - Doe, John15:45 4a
[Code] ......
And I need it to look like this:
JohnDoe - Doe, John15:00 x
JohnDoe - Doe, John15:15 4a
JohnDoe - Doe, John15:15 4b
JohnDoe - Doe, John15:15 4c
JohnDoe - Doe, John15:15 4d

I have a quick question in relation to filling a range with an array.
When I use the following code:
Code:
Sub justdoit()
s = Array(1, 2, 3)
Range("A1:C1") = s
End Sub
It works fine. but when I try to populate the range in rows instead of colums, the array value stays as the first value.
Code:
Sub justdoit()
s = Array(1, 2, 3)
Range("A1:A3") = s
End Sub
I'm experimenting with arrays and would like to get better at them, but this has me stumped for the moment. How to get the values to work going down, like they do going across.
The above code is a small sample of data, I am wating to replicate with using over 80K lines and cell by cell is too slow.
Is there a way of filling a range of cells alphabetically?? Probably missing something obvious here!

I am trying to replace blank cells in a range with the value a found cell. For example, in column A there are blank cells interspersed with cells that have "Account:" in them. For each row that has "Account:" there is a specific account number in column B.

I've tried various integrations of the Fill Down with Macros code and Aaron's Find_Range code but haven't figured it out. The closest I've come is filling all the blanks with the first account number (A2 = A3 = A5 = 234).
Sub FillAccounts()

Dim account As Range

I have a list of 800 fund names that can be any one of 6 types of funds. It is easy to filter the names using the filter function, but I cannot get it to be a filtered list for my dropdown box. The dropdown box should only list those fund names of funds that is of a certain kind. I know I am missing something small.
If the accompanying data is used as an example, I would like a dropdown box with the names of all the I funds.
The below formula is in Col F6, how do i get this formula to adjust to data range without manually filling down, my data changes everyday therefore i need the formula to auto fill according to data range.

When I record a macro it sets the autofill range as the bottom of what ever worksheet I recorded it on.
How can you write a macro that goes to the last row of each worksheet.
Sub Macro1()
'
' Macro1 Macro
'
' Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl+a

Range("A1").Select
Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range("A1:A122"), Type:=xlFillCopy
Range("A1:A122").Select
Range("B1").Select
End Sub
I am trying to autofill cells across a column that sum a range but move over 5 columns from another worksheet. for example, i want to take this range:
Schedule!AG6:AK6 and when I autofill, the next adjacent column will fill with Schedule!AL6:AP6, the next with Schedule!AQ6:AU6, and so on.
I have tried offset, but am not sure if that's the right formula.
I am using the following code to Autofill a formula through a variable range:
Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range(MyFormulaCell, TerminalCell), Type:=xlFillDefault
MyFormulaCell is the cell with the formula, and TermnialCell is a variable set on a count of rows. This is working great, and I can loop through this for the columns I need to copy just fine by incrementing values, but as I apply this to several sections, it's taking me up to a minute to run the macro. In this "I want it now" day and age, I'm sure my coworkers for whom I am making this will not be happy to wait that long.
Is there a way that I can incorporate a selected range into this method?
I'd like to set MyFormulaCell to:
Range(Selection, Selection.End(xlToRight)).Select
and then autofill the formula down the number of rows contained in TerminalCell.
I have worksheets that refernce values in one column off columns in others and do this on daily basis. each day there are blank amounts in random fields which I inturn use a macro to delete rows with blank amounts
I then want to autofill the numbers from 0001 to the bottem line of the sheet where the word "END" always is, as the position of the end word is random each time and autofill always needs a definite range how do I get my macro to autofill down to the word "end" ?
here is the code that doesnt work for me and I've been trying to fix
Sub Macro1()
For counter = 1 To 30
Set curCell = Worksheets("Sheet1").Cells(counter, 6)
If curCell.Text = "END" Then Range(Cells(1, 6), Cells(counter-1, 6)). _
Selection.DataSeries Rowcol:=xlColumns, Type:=xlAutoFill, Date:=xlDay, _
Trend:=False
Next counter
End Sub
I am creating a loop that will autofill 16 cells down. It copies the formula from one cell (Z230), pastes that 16 cells down (cell Z246), then changes the lock properties of the cell (Z246) before autofilling down 16 (to cell Z261). At which point the loop starts over again. (copies cell Z246,pastes it to Z262, fills down 16 , etc)
Because the cell I am copying from changes in each loop, I set a variable to grab the address of the starting cell and last cell of the copy.
I then put this into a String so it would return something like this
Range("Z245:Z259")
Problem is I get extra quotes around Range("Z245:Z259") - it comes out as string "Range("Z245:Z259")"
This gives me a problem when I try to replace
Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range("Z245:Z246"), Type:=xlFillDefault
with
Selection.AutoFill Destination:=rangevariable, Type:=xlFillDefault
Below is my total code, but I get stuck on the selection line. I have to do this 300 times so I would prefer not to do it manually!
