Say cell A1 contains Blk1Crd2 I would like say cell B1 to contain BlkCrd.
And preferebly I do not want to run a macro.

Dec 11, 2008I have a basic formula =C17+'Asset Depreciation 2008 Onwards'!C24, and I want to copy it down just using the drag function. Problem is that the second reference range of cells are in rows and hence when I copy it down it doesn’t automatically update the cell references because it want to update them by column number instead of row number. IE I want it to display =C17+'Asset Depreciation 2008 Onwards'!
D24, instead of C25. Do you know if there is any way of telling Excel that I want it to increase the column number by 1 every time, instead of the row number for this part of the formula?

Dec 30, 2011I want to have a range of days in a cell, for example in cell A1 will have may 2-may 9. when I use the autofill handle I want A2 cell to read may 10 - may 17 and then if I use it again A3 will read may 18- may 25 and then roll over to the next month . As it stand right now if I put in may 2 - may 9 and use the autofill handle the next cell down will read may 2 - may 10.

Jul 25, 2014So I was given the task to translate some procedure instructions in an Excel file from English to Spanish. These are very simple instructions and in most cases repetitive throughout the document. There are a lot of instances where the instructions are the same except for a #. They are meant to be modified within the cell as the text that appears in the cell will be printed exactly as it appears.There are several instructions in the cell, it is basically a long continuous string in the cell. My idea is to create a macro that can search that range of cells for the instruction, replace it with the Spanish equivalent while leaving the original English instruction in the cell.

Sep 4, 2008I have a spreadsheet table which shows different things but in particular has a column of data ranging from numbers 1 to 23. I carry forward these numbers to display in a different table, so am simply linking from the second table into the first to bring that data forward (literally using formula =B1, in top cell, =B2 in second cell and so on). That's fine.
However I would like to be able to show a blank for any occurences of numbers 4, 14 and 24.
Is there a formula that I could use to firstly carry forward the data, but to then leave blank if the value is either 4, 14 or 24?

Mar 15, 2007How can I have my macro run in its cell and still allow the cell to be blank? Say I have a number, 0.99, in the cell and I want to delete it and leave it blank. I can either push "Backspace" or the delete key and it still leaves zeros.
If I push the space bar it stops the macro (which I do not want to happen) and leaves the cell blank because I added a space.

Autofill In Macro Range Is Constant How Can I Code To Be A Variable Range?
Feb 19, 2010I am trying to write a macro which will autofill specific columns. The macro will set the range from the start of my autofill to the end of my autofill as a constant range.
The problem I need to get around is the end of my range can always change each time I run the macro. For instance, the first time I run the macro I may only need to autofill from row 4 to row 15. The next time, I may only need to autofill from row 4 to 23 (because of user updates). How can I make the end of my range not be a constant address but variable?

The first sheet to be filled is called "Local Info"
In this sheet in the Active Cell "G7" the user must register a number between 0-500
This number must affect my next sheet called Competence Map Autofilling rows 7+8 from Columns A to AM
So If for example I put 83 in "local INFO" G7.
I will get 172 rows with text (the first 6 Headers) the 7-8 original and from 9-172 filled with the information given.

Autofill Range From Another Worksheet?
Mar 24, 2014I am trying to autofill cells across a column that sum a range but move over 5 columns from another worksheet. for example, i want to take this range:
Schedule!AG6:AK6 and when I autofill, the next adjacent column will fill with Schedule!AL6:AP6, the next with Schedule!AQ6:AU6, and so on.
I have tried offset, but am not sure if that's the right formula.

MyFormulaCell is the cell with the formula, and TermnialCell is a variable set on a count of rows. This is working great, and I can loop through this for the columns I need to copy just fine by incrementing values, but as I apply this to several sections, it's taking me up to a minute to run the macro. In this "I want it now" day and age, I'm sure my coworkers for whom I am making this will not be happy to wait that long.
Is there a way that I can incorporate a selected range into this method?
I'd like to set MyFormulaCell to:
Range(Selection, Selection.End(xlToRight)).Select
and then autofill the formula down the number of rows contained in TerminalCell.

I then want to autofill the numbers from 0001 to the bottem line of the sheet where the word "END" always is, as the position of the end word is random each time and autofill always needs a definite range how do I get my macro to autofill down to the word "end" ?
