Autofill Range While Leaving The Cell Number Same?
Jul 30, 2012How can I auto fill a range while leaving the cell number the same?
Code: =IF(AND(B4>=c2,b4=c2,b4=c2,b5=c2,b6=c2,b7=D2,b4=E2,b4=F2,b4=G2,b4=H2,b4

I am trying to remove the numbers from a cell leaving just the text.
Say cell A1 contains Blk1Crd2 I would like say cell B1 to contain BlkCrd.
And preferebly I do not want to run a macro.
I have a basic formula =C17+'Asset Depreciation 2008 Onwards'!C24, and I want to copy it down just using the drag function. Problem is that the second reference range of cells are in rows and hence when I copy it down it doesn’t automatically update the cell references because it want to update them by column number instead of row number. IE I want it to display =C17+'Asset Depreciation 2008 Onwards'!
D24, instead of C25. Do you know if there is any way of telling Excel that I want it to increase the column number by 1 every time, instead of the row number for this part of the formula?
I have a lot of numbers in different columns:
A B C
1 1 2
2 4 6
3 6 9
4 8 .
5 9 .

7
8
9
.

I want to to order them so they leave blank rows if they don't match...like this:
A B C
1 1 2
2
3
4 4
5
6 6 6
7
8 8
9 9 9

I want to have a range of days in a cell, for example in cell A1 will have may 2-may 9. when I use the autofill handle I want A2 cell to read may 10 - may 17 and then if I use it again A3 will read may 18- may 25 and then roll over to the next month . As it stand right now if I put in may 2 - may 9 and use the autofill handle the next cell down will read may 2 - may 10.

P.S. when autofilling down, can I specify somehow for it to stop at the last row with data in adjacent cell?
I'm trying to do something quite simple but I can't seem to see the forest thru the trees.
All I want to do is when I deactivate a worksheet (sheet2) I want it to sort a predfined range. I keep getting a "Select Method of Range Class Failed" error message on the line of code with ******

So I was given the task to translate some procedure instructions in an Excel file from English to Spanish. These are very simple instructions and in most cases repetitive throughout the document. There are a lot of instances where the instructions are the same except for a #. They are meant to be modified within the cell as the text that appears in the cell will be printed exactly as it appears. There are several instructions in the cell, it is basically a long continuous string in the cell. My idea is to create a macro that can search that range of cells for the instruction, replace it with the Spanish equivalent while leaving the original English instruction in the cell.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet table which shows different things but in particular has a column of data ranging from numbers 1 to 23. I carry forward these numbers to display in a different table, so am simply linking from the second table into the first to bring that data forward (literally using formula =B1, in top cell, =B2 in second cell and so on). That's fine.
However I would like to be able to show a blank for any occurences of numbers 4, 14 and 24.
Is there a formula that I could use to firstly carry forward the data, but to then leave blank if the value is either 4, 14 or 24?
Attached is a sample to add and delete "X" from a cell. The problem is after a single click to add "X", to delete "X", the mouse pointer needs to leave the cell then come back to cell to delete. I would like to add and delete "X" by toggle the mouse without leaving the cell.

How can I have my macro run in its cell and still allow the cell to be blank? Say I have a number, 0.99, in the cell and I want to delete it and leave it blank. I can either push "Backspace" or the delete key and it still leaves zeros.
If I push the space bar it stops the macro (which I do not want to happen) and leaves the cell blank because I added a space.
How can i leave Cell D3 etc blank untill i have inserted the end date it will look tidier when i do my full spread sheet and also is there a calender on a toolbar i could put on my spread sheet for easy inputing of dates.

I would like to have a spreadsheet where I press the update button and a macro runs that searches for the word "Converted" in column E on the Consolidated spreadsheet (the original). When it finds it, I would like the entire row to be cut and pasted onto the "Converted" worksheet.
I have managed to do this with my current code:

However when this macro runs, the row left behind on the original sheet is a blank row and I don't want this. I would like it to be continuous spreadsheet, not dotted with random blank rows!
I am looking for a syntax or function wherin i can replace all lines in different cells containing specific string or text in it. e.g. Few cells in sheet contains " This guy is for deployment", other few cells may contain "guy is for core deployment" and other cells may have " project is specific deployment". I want to replace all such lines which contain a word "deployment" with ony one word "Deployment".

I am trying to write a macro which will autofill specific columns. The macro will set the range from the start of my autofill to the end of my autofill as a constant range.
The problem I need to get around is the end of my range can always change each time I run the macro. For instance, the first time I run the macro I may only need to autofill from row 4 to row 15. The next time, I may only need to autofill from row 4 to 23 (because of user updates). How can I make the end of my range not be a constant address but variable?
I am trying to extract some data from a cell leaving the rest of the cell untouched.
I would like to extract C:UsersDanMusicIan MusicKaraokeKaraokeBob Marley & The Wailers - Jammin'.mp3 from the cell leaving Bob Marley & The Wailers - Jammin'.mp3 in the. I have to do this to 3000+ rows.
I need to remove only numbers from excel cell - I have tried using the "constant" function but did not work. I have thousands of cells with a consistent 4 digit number like this:
1000 the rest is text
How can I remove only numbers but leave all text in the cell and then if I can trim the cell so there are not any spaces at the beginning afte removing the numbers.
I have wookbook with a lot of sheets on it
The first sheet to be filled is called "Local Info"
In this sheet in the Active Cell "G7" the user must register a number between 0-500
This number must affect my next sheet called Competence Map Autofilling rows 7+8 from Columns A to AM
So If for example I put 83 in "local INFO" G7.
I will get 172 rows with text (the first 6 Headers) the 7-8 original and from 9-172 filled with the information given.
Just a niggling problem, I've got lstRow as a Long and it contains the value of the last row offset by (1, 0). The problem is i'm trying to add it into a range
Range("C500:K500").Select
Selection.autofill Destination:=Range(C" & lstRow &":K" & lstRow &")Type:=xlFillDefault
Like that.. Except i've tried a million different combinations of " and & in different places to try and get it to compile. It refuses too. It always gives the error "Expected list seperator or )" I know I could just do it individually from C to K but I'd like to learn how to do it this way as well.
I'd like a cell to contain only the characters "1E4" without automatically changing to 10,000.
How do I turn this automatic feature off?

1. I need a macro to find a unique number, say a 10 digit number starting with 4100.. and move it 1 row down and 3 rows to the left. It needs to look only in one column (E) for this number. This row contains several unique numbers, variable number of blank cells between them, all having 10 digits and starting with 4100.. - So the macro needs to repeat this for every unique number.
2)Once it does this, I need it to autofill the unique number in all the cells in column A until the next unique number is reached.
I have 2 sheets in a workbook where i would like cell G8 on sheet 1 to equal the value on A11 sheet 2 & G9 to equal A12 and so on down the sheet. The problem is that G8 are 3 merged cell so every time I try to use autofill the reference number jumps by 3. The formula in cell G8 is

How can you write a macro that goes to the last row of each worksheet.

I am trying to autofill cells across a column that sum a range but move over 5 columns from another worksheet. for example, i want to take this range:
Schedule!AG6:AK6 and when I autofill, the next adjacent column will fill with Schedule!AL6:AP6, the next with Schedule!AQ6:AU6, and so on.
I have tried offset, but am not sure if that's the right formula.
I am using the following code to Autofill a formula through a variable range:
Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range(MyFormulaCell, TerminalCell), Type:=xlFillDefault
MyFormulaCell is the cell with the formula, and TermnialCell is a variable set on a count of rows. This is working great, and I can loop through this for the columns I need to copy just fine by incrementing values, but as I apply this to several sections, it's taking me up to a minute to run the macro. In this "I want it now" day and age, I'm sure my coworkers for whom I am making this will not be happy to wait that long.
Is there a way that I can incorporate a selected range into this method?
I'd like to set MyFormulaCell to:
Range(Selection, Selection.End(xlToRight)).Select
and then autofill the formula down the number of rows contained in TerminalCell.
I have worksheets that refernce values in one column off columns in others and do this on daily basis. each day there are blank amounts in random fields which I inturn use a macro to delete rows with blank amounts
I then want to autofill the numbers from 0001 to the bottem line of the sheet where the word "END" always is, as the position of the end word is random each time and autofill always needs a definite range how do I get my macro to autofill down to the word "end" ?
here is the code that doesnt work for me and I've been trying to fix
