Automate Formula Copy/Fill-Down Until Last Row

Dec 6, 2009

I have some formulas that combine template text and values from cells in that row to result in text that I then Copy and use in another place. I am trying to convert that to a Macro.

My Skills are Novice -- I have searched Google and Tutorials and it seems that my usage is not common so, I have not found answers to help me move ahead.

I'm working with a simplified version of what I want to do to eastablish a
Working model that I can modify and expand. I had a macro that ran to completion but I abandoned it. I realized that I was on a Wrong Track. It was created from recorded macro sections and googled routines and very clumsy.

Heres my Scenario

If my Excel Cells were

Cell A1 = 135252
Cell B1 = $13.95
Cell C1 = 3
Cell D1 = Oversize

I want to run a Macro from E1 that would Result in text of

Our Stock Number is 135252 - The Price is $13.95.
We have 3 in stock. Type of Packaging is Oversize

being left in Cell E1.

I would like the Macro be able to run on other rows as well when launched from Cell E of that row.
My Goal would be to make the macro work on a range of rows by Highlighing Cell E in those rows.

My Excel Formula to accomplish the same thing is -

="Our Stock Number is "&A1&" - The Price is "&B1&".
We have "&C1&" in stock. Type of Packaging is "&D1&"."

If I could get this much working, I think I can expand and edit to encompass my actual application.

Automate A Cell To Fill Itself In

May 21, 2013

I have a spreadsheet with alot of information about a product. One column, is used to fill in a price that the item is going to be and in the column next to it, I show the date this change will happen.

What I need is another column (that has a price written on it already) to change and put in the price found in the "new price" column, if the date is equal to the column which show the date the price will change.

Example:

A
Item
B
Item's current Price
L
Item's increased price
M
Date increase will happen

I want "B" to change and reflect what "L" is reading when the date is the same as what is entered in "M".

Can that be done?

Copy Fill Formula With A Range

Feb 6, 2007

I have a formula that is averaging seven (one week) consecutive cells, I want to Copy/Fill the formula down the worksheet for the entire year. Is there a way to use the fill handle to drag down and make the formulas use the next seven colums?

I have removed the $ from the row numbers in the original formula, but when I use the fill handle it fills like this:

=average(B2:B8)
=average(B3:B9)

I would like it to fill like this:

=average(B2:B8)
=average(B9:B15)

Copy/Fill Down Formula Macro Code

Jun 5, 2008

I have created a macro with the below formula in it:

Range("L2").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=LEN(RC[-1])"
Range("L2").Select
Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range("L2:L234")
Range("L2:L234").Select

I am using column K and it looks up the length of this cell. When I created the formula I was using info that only went to line 234 which was fine. Once I clear the info in column K and input new info it can go further than line 234. How do I get the macro to look up the whole of column k without having to create a new macro each time?

Copy/Fill Down Formula To Maximum Row Of Last Cell In Columns

May 27, 2008

In a worksheet I retrieve data from a SQL query. Now I have to add 5 different calculations per row and each calculation will be stored in a new cell (so 5 columns will be created)

I want to do this with a loop macro and calculate this till the last "filled" row. The number of rows differs every month.

What loop code should I use and can somebody give me an example of the VBA code.
Note that some formulas contains nested If-functions.

Copy Fill From Another Cell That Is Formatted To Change Depending On Its Formula

Dec 10, 2012

As seen from my attached file,

The colour of the percentage cell changes according to its percentage. I would like the S/N cells to have the same colour as the total percentage cells automatically. (Even when the percentage updates)

Secondly, for the cells under "Target", if the target dates are 1 day before today(the current date on a particular day) and the actual date is not filled, the cell fill will turn amber.

If today is on or after the target date and the actual date is not filled, the cell will turn red.

However, if the actual date is filled, the target date cell will be filled green, overwriting the above two condition.

[Code].....

in the first row i want to use the fill handle at 135 and drag rightwards so as to copy/retain the pattern (decrementing by 5, from multiplier 150 until 100)

how would I achieve that?

p.s I also want the formula for columns to work with the fill handle drag downwards.

Automate Copy Paste Range

Nov 30, 2006

I am trying to take a range ("a5:k23") of data in a sheet name Kelly and paste that data at range ("a1") in Sheet4 when the numbers change in cells "(K3") and "(J3") in the Kelly Sheet. When the numbers change, I want this to automatically paste and paste special. Since there are some conditional formats with color, I want to first Paste and then Paste Special the range of data.

Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range)

If Range("k3") = 1 And Range("j3") = 10 Then
Range("A5:K23").Select
Selection.Copy
Sheets("Sheet4").Select
Range("A1").Select
ActiveSheet.Paste
Range("A1").Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _
:=False, Transpose:=False
Sheets("KELLY ").Select
Range("F2").Select

Macro To Automate Copy/paste Sequences

Nov 5, 2008

I have a spreadsheet tool that I use to calculate values on a set of variables, based on values on an initial set of other variables, for a large number of cases.

The calculations require a number of sequential steps to be repeated to get the calculated values for each case, and I am hoping there is a straightforward way to use a VB macro to automate this process.

Essentially, these steps are required to calculate values for a single case:
1. A data input sheet holds the values on the initial/input variables for each case. The first step involves copying the string of values for the case on the input variables into a sheet where the calculations are done.

2. As soon as the input string of values are pasted into the calculation sheet, the calculation formulas generate values for the case on the new, output variables.

3. The output variable string is then copied from the calculation sheet into a “results output” sheet. This copy/paste procedure needs to offset from the first row on the output sheet, so that the row number where the values on the output variables are stored correspond to the case ID. For example, case ID 10 is stored 10 rows down from the first row (i.e., on row 11). Case ID 100 is stored 100 rows down from the first row (i.e., on row 101).

As there are a very large number of cases, I need to have a “control panel” in place, where I can indicate the range of case IDs that will be processed. This takes the form of two cells – one indicates “From ID” and the other “To ID” (for example, “From ID” 1 “To ID” 100). The macro then uses this information to loop through the calculation steps outlined above for these case IDs.

To Automate A Formula Sheet

Feb 16, 2008

I am trying to automate a formula sheet used by truck drivers to determine how many hours are available to work as they cannot work over 14 hours in a day or 70 hours in 8 days. This must be charted daily, including days off. Taking two consecutive days off resets the 70 hour rule. So...

Col B2:B8 Enter the number of hours worked each day.
Cell C8 Sum B2:B8 except when there are two consecutive zeros entered during the seven days being counted, then count only from after the second zero. (ie. b2=6, b3=0, b4=0, b5=8, b6=10, b7=7, b8=11 only sum(b5:b8)). So I am looking for the formula to to sum under this condition.

Formula To Show The Value Of One Cell Based On The Value Of Another To Automate Some Internal Processes

Nov 3, 2008

I'm trying to get a formula to show me the value of one cell based on the value of another to automate some internal processes. Cell J3 returns today's date, then J4 says what week number that is. J5 concatenates the two to make the look up. Column A is named range "PN", and columns C onwards are named ranges to match the column heading.

What I'm wanting is for the result in test cell 2 (J8), is to return the stock requirements for the current week, based on the result of cell J5. I can do this by using nested IF statements, but that would be 8 cells to calculate, then another one to find the cell that has a value. If there a way to get Excel to recognize the value in J5 as a range name, so it just needs the one formula?

Macro To Automate Multiple "IF Formula"

Aug 17, 2007

I have a worksheet of 5 columns. What I would like to do is subtotal an amount in column d, where the item code in column b are the same. Lets say there are 5 rows with code 8150 in column b, I want to add all these rows up BUT ALSO add up any rows which are 8150+1 (x+1) i.e. 8151. All transactions where the code in column B, x + (x+1) = 0. All true results should then be cut and pasted into a new worksheet (one worksheet for all transactions that are true).

e.g.

8150 1233
8150 12
8150 644
8151 -2084
8151 -10
8151 -205

Total of above amounts is zero, therefore cut and paste to new spreadsheet.

Now that I think about it, its actually quite complicated.

Copy Pairs From 2 Columns To Formula Reference Cells & Copy Updated Formula Results

Jun 24, 2008

I am currently working on a data analysis project (data mining) and need to collect and later analyze statistics for the inputs which control a series of calculations. These statistics are shown in the Statistics 1, Statistics 2 and Statistics 3 cells in the workbook that I attached. The inputs are X,Y; all possible values for these inputs are listed in the N,O columns. Basically I need a macro which would take the values from these two columns and place them pair after pair into the controlling cells (K3, L3), then it would copy cells H2 through L3 (updated stats) to a new sheet after each copy operation - so that I will finally have a list of statistics for all of the input pairs.

How To Copy And Paste Fill Change

Jan 23, 2013

When doing a normal copy and paste of a formula you get 1 cell added to the formula

ie... a1=b1+c1
when dragged and copied to a2 you get a2=b2+c2

Is there a way to make it add more than one cell so that when the first formula is dragged and copied I would get a2=b17+c17

The actual formula I am doing a copy and paste with is:

=IFERROR(CHOOSE($I$2,'YTD & MTD'!D58,'YTD & MTD'!E58,'YTD & MTD'!F58,'YTD & MTD'!G58,'YTD & MTD'!H58,'YTD & MTD'!I58,'YTD & MTD'!J58,'YTD & MTD'!K58,'YTD & MTD'!L58,'YTD & MTD'!M58,'YTD & MTD'!N58,'YTD & MTD'!O58,'YTD & MTD'!C58),"")

Macro To Copy And Fill In Cells?

May 6, 2014

I'm using 3 sheets within one Excel file. 1st sheet (target) is called Offer, the 2nd one (source) is called Stock and there's a 3rd one that only contains a button to which i'll assign the final macro. Now, back to it.

I need to copy from Stock to Offer contents of the entire column (basically there are a few more in Offer, so i need to copy each one and place it in a different part). I need to copy from ROW 2 and paste in ROW 6. The length of the document varies, as it's connected to the database (now i can have 3800 rows, in the next hour 3765). Previously i just added an X to row 4500 ( i don't expect to EVER have more than 4000 lines) and just copied from 2 to 4499

Second issue is, on the Offer sheet i have to fill a column with a certain value. Again, it needs to start from Row 6, and needs to be as long as the adjacent column. To get a better idea, i have for example 3800 price lines, so i need the column next to it to be filled with 3800 rows saying GBP (this will be a fixed value).

Also, none of the codes above should exclude blank cells in the middle of the string. Last thing, seems some of the barcodes i have only have 12 digits, so i'll need to add a 0 in front of all shorter numbers to go up to 13 digits.

[Code] ......

I should be able to figure the rest by recording bits and pieces. The Save part is done already, i'm using

[Code] ....

I needed it in XLSX format, not XLSM so that suits just fine. I might need to add hour and minute as well but i can sort it out (as i said, i can do some stuff on my own but this one got me to the bottom).

Look within sheet "highlowperf" column K and copy the row containing cells that are filled green in column K into sheet "overallperfomers" starting from row 9 within the "overallperformers" sheet until completed. It needs to be from row 9 as i have other data above this which i need to keep intact.

Further to this i do not require all information from the row that is found to contain a green fill. I wish to copy columns A B C D E F G K.

If this second part is not possible I can settle to just copy the whole row over and i will try and work around.

Excel 2007 :: Copy Fill Without Stepping Value?

Dec 30, 2012

I have excel 2007. I have a workbook with 2 tabs set up as follows:

Tab ATab B

Tab A contains a column with the source data, which will be constantly overwritten

Tab B has a row which references the data in tab A

I would like to copy the reference formula in Tab B down for say 100 rows, but when I use the fill tool, it automatically moves the reference cell up one. I want it to remain the same as the original.

E.g
Tab B, Row 1
ColA = Tab A, Row 1
ColB = Tab A, Row 2
ColC = Tab A, Row 3

When I fill copy the above; on Tab B, Row 2, the formula changes to ColA = Tab A, Row 2, ColB = Tab A, Row 3 etc. I would like them to remain as ColA = Row 1, ColB = Row 2 etc.

I will then use Tab A to input each rows data in Tab B, having converted the previous row into just text so it doesn't change with each update.
