Jun 1, 2014How can I prevent duplicate numbers/pictures from one card to the next?
IE If B1 or an apple is on card one I do not want them on card 2 at all.

Create Unique Bingo Cards
Mar 6, 2008I need to create 50-60 bingo cards for my sister's bridal shower. I wanted to create these using excel. I need to create unique cards so that not everyone bingos at the same time (I only have so many door prizes to give away!)
The basic setup is this: under "B" there are 5 spaces, and each space must have a unique number between 1 and 15 (no repeats). Under "I" there are 5 spaces, and must use a unique number between 16 and 30, "N" has 5 spaces using a unique number between 31 and 45, "G" has 5 spaces using a unique number between 46 and 60, and "O" has 5 spaces using a unique number between 61 and 75. A sample card is below:

I have tried to use the "randbetween" function, but this creates repeats and I would have to go in and manually change the numbers that repeat.
Spreading Text List For Bingo Game
Feb 1, 2009I have a Text List (about 40 rows of Commercial Names) in a column. On 10 seperate sheets I make a 5 row by 5 column range (the Bingo Game) and manually copy one item from the Text List into one of the cells in the 5 by 5 range as randomly as possible until the range is filled. I've manually counted each item from the Text List's use, but it very time consuming when I add more items to my list. I'm looking for two solutions.
1. Is there a way to automatic the random distribution from the Text List into the various sheets on an equal basis.
2. Is there a way to count the number of times an item from the Text List appears in the 5 by 5 range and sum that for all 10 sheets.

Aug 25, 2013I'm making a custom BINGO board in Excel 2010 for a family reunion, so it doesn't contain numbers; instead it has words (like "has brown eyes" or "served in the military"). the first sheet is the board and looks like a traditional BINGO board with the same number rows and columns with a center FREE space. On the second sheet is the list of all the phrases I'm going to use, one phrase per cell, all in Column A.
In BINGO cells, I want it to use one item (phrase) in each box but NOT repeat within the board. I have the following code in each cell and it works EXCEPT, there is no code telling it to make each cell unique, so sometimes it may repeat.

To Create An Auto Bingo Game For My Kids Which Randomized The 5 By 5 Grid
Dec 8, 2006I was trying to create an autobingo game for my kids which randomized the 5 by 5 grid. To do that I did combined a Randbetween and VLOOKUP to a table on a separate sheet which had the name of the object (i.e. "cow") in column 2 and a picture in column 3. Well, the VLookup will return the name of the object but won't return the pictures. Is there a way to get those embedded objects to move into my autobingo form? I'm thinking this requires a Visual basic macro.

Macro For Merging Duplicate Entries?
Apr 3, 2013I'm trying to get data totals for multiple entries and haven't been able to figure out how to do this using a pivot table.
For example:

Ben 2
Bill 1
Jane 3
Bill 4
Dave 7
Jane 4
Would make it
Ben 2
Bill 5
Jane 7
etc.
this list is 3700 cells long.
Is there an easy macro or another way of doing this? I want to generate a list that gives all data totals but just lists each persons name once. I treid attaching the file but it wont let me! here is the link... [URL]
Macro To Remove Duplicate Data?
Aug 17, 2014I am trying to create a summary sheet that updates when input data is added.
I'm still learning many parts of excel and I'm unsure why the SUMIF function on occasion leaves duplicate data in.
I can live with the fact that I will need to correct the input data and am willing to just paste in corrected data when it has been validated via the data validation tab.
Once this has been done, all I am seeking is for a subsequent process to start which updates a summary sheet with the sums correctly adding via the sumif function.
I have left some instructions on the actual spreadsheet to clarify my intended results.
Macro To Create Duplicate Rows
Nov 19, 2009On some occasions the part number has several to collect but the output from the system we use will output this as a sinle line and a quantity of 2 for instance. I would like a macro to indentify all of the parts with a quantity more than 1 and insert a duplicate line with that quantity.
On the attachement sheet 1 is an example of how the data may look, sheet 2 is how I would like it to be after the macro has been run (but within the same sheet)

Eliminate Duplicate Rows In The Macro?
Mar 29, 2012exclude the duplicate row in the macro. The macro is checking for blank or "NA" in column N and copying the row to a new destination file. It is not repeating the row if either one of the conditions is met. [that is wat I want to do] however if the rows have duplicate data i dont want to copy them.

Now The area in red is where the macro writes into the form. My thing is that I want to set up a check so there isn't duplicated entries. This is how the check would work. First it would match up any excisiting entries with JobNo and then check to see if the JobDate was the same. If both are the same then it would check Waste or CutTime, either one would work. If they didn't match, then those cells would be overwritten. If nothing matched then it would put in the new entry.

Dec 21, 2012I am looking for some VBA code that will look through a column and delete all but the last duplicate value. The rows are not to be deleted. The duplicate also may not be consecutive (i.e they may appear in rows 2, 3 and 72 - the one in 72 would need keeping).
I did find the following macro which seemed to do the job until I realised it wasn't working if the values weren't consecutive.

Oct 23, 2012Can I use a macro in workbook (test 1) to look at a differant work book (Test 2) and look at a range of A2:A20 and look for a duplicate date? If it sees a duplicate date I get a message (Date Taken) I would need to compare about 4 or 5 columns to each other, column A to column A, column B to column B etc. Will this work if the other workbook is not open?

Jun 3, 2014My user has a worksheet that is hundreds of rows long. Column A contains the SerialNumber, col D contains the PartNo and col E contains the SerialNo. She wants her formula in col B to match the SerialNumber with SerialNo then return the value from PartNo into col B. =Index(PartNo,Match(A2,SerialNo,0)) gets me the match that I'm looking for so I thought I was done. Not so...she now tells me that there are duplicate, triplicate, etc., matches and the formula obviously is only pulling in the first match.
When she has a duplicate, she needs to have cells inserted into Col A & B. She does not want a whole row inserted because the PartNo and SerialNo will already be in the right places. I've tried inserting a helper column to enumerate the duplicates but I can't it to work. I also tried using ROWS in the formula to work with the duplicates but that only confused me. I'm pretty sure I'll need a macro to do this but I'm getting nowhere.

This seems to run fine and be quite quick providing I highlight the column first.
What I'm looking for is a pop up window to also show me some data relating to the duplicates. I usually work with large lists and would like the macro to say how many duplicates it found from how many rows of data.
It is a very handy macro, and is very short on the coding side I notice compared to all the others I found (Which is Good?), I'm no coder

Find Range And Delete Duplicate Value In Specified Column With VB Macro
Apr 21, 2009See attached doc "Find and Delete.xlsx". Inside, the value in F12 is a very important cell. Using the text value from F12, I first want to use visual basic code to find the range in column B because it will vary. This means the 'text words' column might have 50 words or it might have 2000. I have racked my brain trying to find a universal way to find a variable range.
Then I would like to search for the exact text value within this range in column
B. For example, in F12 is the text word 'windows xp registry cleaner' and you can see that this value is in B9. There will only be one exact match in column B.
I then would like the vb script to delete and remove this found value, then move left one space in column A to also delete the ID number associated with the text word. Then shift both rows up to fill the empty gap. I have tried numerous different codes but to be honest, I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. I've tinkered with find and replace, vlookup, match, find, search, and many more.
