When you hold your mouse over a bubble on a bubble chart, it typically displays the x value, y value and size value. Is there any way to add other captions to display? For example, if my chart is based on sales data and I'm plotting a point based on ease of probability (x axis) and dollar value (y value)....I'd also like to see the initials of the salesperson assigned to that prospect when I hover over the bubble?

I want to put this in a bubble graph (column b = y axis) and (column c = x axis) and label the bubble with the product names. I would need to use this small code in Charts with different Scales as some of the Scales in my Data are in a very large Range close to Trillions so its not possible to have these as the Primary-Y-Axis Scale and therefore I would need to use the in-built Display label option which Excel provides..
However, I always prefer to have the scale in the Range of Thousands so the Max I can have in the Scale can be 10,000 so if there is any Number more than that or the Scale is going above than I would prefer that this gets auto-calculated to Multiply with the remainder and show appropriate Scaling.
For Ex:In this example My largest Number is 4500000000 which is 100 M..So I would want the scale to show 4500 and the Display label as X Millions..
So The Display Label would be different for different Ranges but the Max Scale preffered would be 10,000.
I would like combine (overlay) a bubble chart with a connected point scatter chart. I understand that, without VBA, this is not possible. However, I understand that, by using VBA, the markers of a scatter chart can be configured as circles with their size proportional to values in a specified column. This pseudo-bubble chart can then easily be combined with a connected point scatter chart.
My question is: does anyone have any VBA code to share that shows how to configure a scatter chart as the type of pseudo-bubble chart described above.

I created 5 charts and instead of having them spread everywhere in the worksheet, I would like them to be "reduced" to some kind of a link contained in a cell (at the botom of the data of each chart). Then, I would like the chart to appear only if I put the mouse on this cell.

When someone hovers over a particular cell say cell B3, then image should be displayed below this cell (sort of hyperlinking) and when the cursor or activell cell is not in B3 it should be hidden again. View 3 Replies View RelatedI created a bubble chart whose x-axis and y-axis show every 10th value between 0 and 100 (i.e. 0, 10, 20, 30...). The axes intersect at (50, 50) to create 4 quadrants.
I want to erase/hide the values on the axes (i.e. the axes will no longer show 0, 10, 20, 30... and at the same time, the bubbles will still be in the same place) to create 4 blank quadrants and make my bubble chart easier to look at.
I have the table: chart1.png
If the bubble size is 0-5, I need the bubble color to be green
If the bubble size is 6-15, I need the bubble color to be yellow
If the bubble size is 16-25, I need the bubble color to be red.
So, right now my chart looks like this: chart.png
As you can see the top bubble is the right color, but based on the bottom bubble value, it should be green.
How do I make this change colors dynamically based on the bubble size value?
I have the Lat and Long for each of several US cities. I want to use these to create a bubble chart that plots the cities and which I can place over a US map picture.
However, I have the problem that, because of the curvature of the earth, the city locations form the lat and longs are not tying with the map.
how to adjust the lat and longs so that they will correspond to the typical US map?
For example, the base lat and longs for Denver are 39.5742 and -104.8588. What formulas can I use to modify these to match the standard map projection?

then march sequentially from row to row, adding specific cells within each as a new series in the chart until I run out of rows. Below is my latest attempt (not working of course).

I have a worksheet where I am collecting data and a seperat Chart. The first part of this code which adds a new row in my table works perfectly fine, but the latter part (based on a macro recording) does not. I need to specify the relevant row for the new series in the bubble chart. The colums are of course the same.

I am looking to create a dynamic bubble chart. To do this I am using offset to create the series formula which without listing all the data names turns out to be something like this (where 297 will adjust to the number of rows with data): =SERIES(Project!$A$5:$A$297, Project!$J$5:$J$297,Project!$P$5:$P$297,2,Project!$Q$5:$Q$297)
My problem is that by creating the chart in this fassion I am unable to get a unique name for each data point. For example, if row A looks like this,
A5: 1
A6: 2
A7: 3
each data point will be named 1 2 3. How do I either create a new series for each row dynamically or get the specific name from column A to associate with the correct data point?
I am trying to format the colors of the bubbles on my bubble chart to Green (>5), Yellow (4-5), or Red (<4) based on the value used to create the bubblesize.
The problem that I am having is that .BubbleSizes is property of type String, not range like .xValues, or .Values. So instead of pulling in the value, I am pulling in the reference and getting a "Type Mismatch" Error. The reference of my data for .BubbleSizes is $D$5:$D51. Each row is it's own series and the list is dynamic, so I need to be able to support future rows without a lot of maintenance.

I am new to excel and to the bubble chart function and need creating one for a presentation.
I was asked to do a bubble chart to show the open and click to open percentage by subject line
E.g.
Subject line: Win 20% open, 23 % Click to Open, Getaway 20$ Open, 21% CTO etc., to include an industry average for open and CTO in the chart.
X axis: click to open and Y axis: open
I tried the following in the picture and it doesn't look right.

Im trying to create a simple 3D Bubble Chart macro, and as most people who've never dealt with this before (i think), i've hit a wall with BubbleSizes. I've attached the file im trying to get to work. The VBA is quite simple but an error occurs at BubbleSizes. I've read that BubbleSizes takes a different reference style than xValues and such, but haven't had any luck trying to change that. For those who just want to see the code without getting the file:

I'm working for a local authority who have been given a mass of survey data. In this particular task, residents of each small district within our area have been asked their levels of satisfaction with a service, and how important they think that service is. I want to plot these two values against each other using a scatterplot, and label each service.
Excel does not automatically allow this so I used a very good sheet from the forums here: Attach labels with names to the points in a scatter plot. It's the top file, and works well. However, I can't seem to customise it for my own data.
Problems include:
- Excel often freezing when I try to run it
- Not all the data being picked up for the chart
- Incorrect labels being picked up..........
anyone know how to display data using label on userform? I tried using offset but it doesnt work. The data I want to display is in column G. How do i go about that?

Is there a limit to the number of series it will work with?

I have a Pivot Table set up that is summarizing some work responsibilities, and within the data table that the Pivot is referencing, there is a field for a Hyperlink that will take the user to the location on the network where the work has been saved. I am not sure if it is possible, but I want to have that Hyperlink work in the Pivot Table as well, and not just display the text for the link.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to display the result of a custom VBA function as a label on a userform. The function is called and takes arguments from three text boxes on the userform. I attached it to the exit parameter. (This may be part of the problem; I'm not sure).
There seem to be two problems, first all the text boxes don't always contain data, but because the arguments are not optional, I get a type mismatch error when the code runs (I tried switching some of them to optional, but it didn't help as you can see from my 'commented code).
The other problem is that even when all the arguments seem to be met (i.e. the text boxes all have data), I still get a compile error that the argument is not optional. This only happens if I try and pass the result to some aspect of the userform. As you can see from the last coded line in the custom function, if I assign it to a range on the worksheet, it functions fine.

I have a number of charts (mostly pie) I don't have a legend, but I do have "Show label and percent" selected.
When I add in new data the actual chart updates to show the right sized pie slices... but the values on the labels don't update as well. I can't figure out how to make that happen?
Is there any way to display one-third 1/3 in a Userform label control?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a workbook, which I use for different departments that displays a number of different pie charts and I have found that a particular pie chart omits a specific label repeatedly. The pie chart displays the wedge within the chart itself, but does not display the label. At the moment I have data labels with percentages. All other labels display, of which there are 7. I found a solution that fixes the problem each time it arises and that is to select Chart Tools/Format/Series 1 data labels and then Format Selection. When I then select any data label, I click on "Clone Current Label" and the missing label appears with the correct percentage amount. I use the workbook for multiple uses and rather than have it present as a template (*.xltm), it is a macro-enabled spreadsheet (*.xlsm). Could this be related to the problem?

If I was using the below data I would want the line graph drawn using the date and value, but the data label at each point to state the description.

I make a bar chart from series of data from cells.
The data consist of values that regarding of students achievment in a test. On the cell if the value is 56.67 and on the data label is shown 56.67.
When the cell value is 50.00, which then I've change the format of the cell to custom format to 0.00;; so it only show 50 but on the data label of the chart it will show 50.
Even after I change the format of the data label it will still show '.' At the of the value.
How to hide the '.' On the data label if the decimals value is .00?
I'm using MS Excel 2010
