I have a business and i run payroll for my employees twice a month (semimonthly).
Date of paycheck will be 16th and 31st.
So if employee was hired on say 7/5/2009 then this employee will have 3 paychecks as of today
(1st paycheck from 7/1/2009 to 7/15/2009
2nd Paycheck from 7/16/2009 to 7/31/2009
3rd Paycheck from 8/1/2009 to 8/15/2009)
i need to know the # of pay checks for each employee computed in Cell C3 to C7.
I am needing to create a formula that will calculate the number of paychecks and the dates for the calendar year. There is some employees that are paid bi-weekly and some bi-monthly.
For Example:
A1-Employee, A2-Hire Date, A3-Pay Frequency, A4-Number of Paychecks
Based on the hire date and pay frequency it will calculate the number of paychecks in A4.
Is this something that can be calculate with excel or would it need to be done manually.
I am trying to calculate the length of time of employment. I am looking for a formula to subtract the date of hire from the date of termination.
My current example is:
5/24/12 - 11/3/10 = 568
There is a problem with my formula as the answer of 568 is currently meaningless. How do I convert this?

I need to devise a formula by which Excel will automatically award employees with service-incentive leave on their anniversary date, starting TWO YEARS after they were hired.
For example, if John Doe was hired on 02/20/1998, he earns 1 day leave beginning 02/20/2000 and on each hire anniversary thereafter. How do I make Excel do that?
I'm trying to workout how to take a known initial date a repeating frequency and work out the next due date from today.
Example
Initial Date :- 1st of January 2014
Frequency :- every 5 weeks
Current Date :- 9th of March 2014
Next Due date should be :-12th of March 2014 (if I worked it out correctly from my paper calendar)
I want to use a cell formula to do this for different initial dates and varying frequency periods (the frequency will always be whole weeks i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8,10)
This formula keeps giving me an #=N/A result and i'm not sure why

Cell: D968 to D999 has numbers from 100 down to 0-69
Cell: E968 to E999 has dollar amont from $8,360,000 to $450,000
Cell K3 is the numer that should match from cells: D968 to D999
and give me the dollar amount.

Basically if the date's month occupies 3 or more of the working days of the workweek then it will be considered as part of that month's working week. Is this possible with formulas? I tried to explain it the best I can.

I want to create a formula that will do the following Each worker is entitled to 21 days holiday per year this will run from 8 Jan 08 to 7 Jan 09. But if a worker starts say 15 Apr 08 he would be entitled to less than 21 days. I'm trying to create a formula in Col D that will give me the difference of (Todays) Month/Date and (Date of Hire). The shaded rows at the end do not provide a correct answer.
How do I make the Column formula eliminate the 1 (due to hire mnth/day falling between 1/1 and current mnth/day). I've put about 30 hours in this formula, tried it many different ways. . . and realize I just can't get it.
I'm all for redoing the whole spreadsheet if you have a better way of doing vacation accruals

We are getting to a point where keeping track of stock is a problem, we need to quickly be able to check if an item is already booked on an upcoming job, and keep track of home many are in stock. Following situation: There are two excel files, entries in column 73 - 85 will be copied from WorkbookRust to the other workbook if the numer in column 5 is the same. Not every cell within this columns contains data, so the macro should automatically jump to the last entry in each of the above mentioned columns, instead of predefine the range as you see in the code below. After the data is copied to the other workbook, it will be filtered acc. to Sub FilterMain and then copied back to WorkbookRust. As already said, the whole thing works, just to lame.

Both the Date and the Date Range is variable. Also, the Index Value for selected Date of one or more month may not be available as that being a holiday. In that case, the formula needs to use the last available Index Value before that Date. e.g. If Index Value for 3rd Oct 2010 is not available, system will use the Index Value of 2nd Oct 2010.

if col b has a date then subrtract col a from b and display the # result, if col b is blank then subtract col a from location I store the @ now date - say Col ZZ Row 99? so no matter there is a count of number of days in every row in column D
I have column B with a heading "Days Remaining" and column L with a heading "Deadline". starting with row 5, I need to be able to enter a date in L5 and see the days I have left, from that day untill today, on B5. I need to then be able to enter a date into L6 and see a result in B6 and on and on. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a start date for a contract in cell AM1. I need AN1 show a date six months from the start date in AM1. I am fine with that part.
However, I would like for AN1 to calculate not only a six-month date but also to auto-update to the next six month date from AM1 once the first six month date is about, let's say, one month past. What I am doing is calculating when a six-month inspection needs to be completed; these inspections are ongoing, so I need them to auto-update.
So let's say a contract was awarded today, 25 JAN 2010. That would be value in AM1.
I want AN1 to produce a date six months from 25 JAN 2010, which would be 25 JUL 2010 (yes, this way of calculating the six month date is fine). Then around, let's say, 25 AUG 2010, I want AN1 to auto-update to produce the next six month date, which would be 25 JAN 2011 (six months from 25 JUL). Obviously the function would need to relate to TODAY() in some way.
Below the two columns represent Column A (date and time) and Column B is temperature.
