Macro To Copy Data From All Columns Containing Header To A Single Column In Workbook
Apr 11, 2014
I am a macro newbie and I think this is beyond me.
I've been trying all morning with no success to make a macro that will copy data from all columns of one workbook containing specified header text to a single column in a different workbook.
So for example, I've got a workbook called coupon barcodes that has multiple tabs for each person redeeming coupons on sheets 2-88 (sheet one can be skipped) and some of the columns are labeled "voucher 1" in cell A4 or B4 or C4 etc. with a list of all the coupon barcodes that customer redeemed below that. I want all of the data from all of the columns in this workbook that have the header "voucher 1" to be copied and pasted into one column (order doesn't matter) also labeled "voucher 1" in another workbook I have open called vouchering database.
There must be a way to do this that is easier than searching the internet all afternoon again

I have a workbook with many sheets of similar but not identical data. I need to extract columns from each sheet based on 5 header criteria and paste them to a single sheet. Each worksheet contains these 5 criteria.
I've been working with the VBA script I've pasted below. It's grabbing the 5 column criteria that I have in sheet 12, and comparing them to sheet 1 in the workbook, then copying them to sheet 12. This much is good, but I need the script to also return the data from the other worksheets as well. I've tried modifying the script based on other loop functions in other scripts I've found, but I'm not having any luck.

I have a workbook with many sheets labelled as mmm-yyyy. The constant columns in all the sheets are C,E,R,T, and U.
Is it possible to have a macro do the following: Add a sheet called Summary at the end of the workbook. From the last sheet of mmm-yyyy, copy columns C, E, and R to the Summary sheet. Copy columns T and U from all the other mmm-yyyy sheets to the Summary sheet. All the cells need to be centered.

Can I create a PivotTable with two columns of data for the same Column header?
I have created a PivotTable in Excel 2003 with months for rows and cities for columns. I would like to have TWO columns of data for each city. The two data columns are: Average House Selling Price, and Number of Houses Sold. When I put both of these data fields into the PivotTable Wizard, they are listed below each other so that each Month occupies two rows, but each city occupies one column. I want the two data fields beside each other so that each month only occupies one row, but there are two data columns for each City.

I have a workbook with four tabs or four sheets.
Tabs 1, 2 and 3 have a column of data (Column A) on each sheet. They all start from the same cell. Each cell of data are just numbers. The column (an array) of data will not have blanks between.
But, they are not the same number of data. They vary.
Meaning, Tab 1 may have 15 numbers (A1 to A15), Tab 2 may have 20 numbers (A1 to A20) and Tab 3 could have 5 numbers (A1 to A5). Each iteration of the workbook may have different number of data in the A column on these tabs.
Now on Tab 4, I want combine the data from all three tabs into one column (in column A).
So, Tab 4 has a column A with data from Tab 1 copy and pasted to (A1 to A15) as values, then (A16 to A35) have Tab 2 data copy pasted as values and (A36 to A40) have Tab 3 data copy pasted as values.
Basically, the macro on Tab 4 has to count the number of rows on each Tab that are populated with data values and figure out to copy all the data on Column A from each three tabs and paste the data value into the Tab 4 in one column of data (in values).

I have a folder which contains multiple 'Customer' workbooks (example attachment 'Customer_001'). Each workbook has a filename unique to the customer (Customer_001, Customer_002, Customer_117 etc). The workbooks contain a single sheet with customer information and answers to questions. These 'Customer' workbooks are automatically saved into a folder once the customer completes a Userform and clicks 'save'. Potentially, there could be 100's of customers' workbooks saved in the folder, each with their own unique filename.
I also have a 'Master' sheet saved in a different folder (example attachment 'Master'). The 'Master' workbook has multiple sheets named 'Department 1' and 'Department 2'. The purpose of the master sheet is to consolidate all information from the individual customers' workbooks.
Specifically, I would like a command button on the 'Master' workbook to execute the following tasks...
1. Copy the data from range A3:F3 from each of the 'Customer' workbooks held in the folder.
2. Paste the data into the next blank row on the 'Department 1' sheet in the 'Master' workbook.
3. Copy the data from range A7:F7 from each of the 'Customer' workbooks held in the folder.
4. Paste the data into the next blank row on the 'Department 2' sheet in the 'Master' workbook.
5. Save the 'Master' workbook.
6. Delete all 'Customer' workbooks in the folder.

I have a workbook ("CaTr") Sheet1 has data ranging ("B2:I41").
There are about 30 cells values (scattered) which needs to be copied in a workbook "CA_Log" in one single next available row .
As soon as the CaTr.sheet1 is filled I want the operator to click a button to trigger this event. Then the sheet1 in workbook CaTr should be saved as "G3" cell value.

Every month we collect data from a number of employees and average it out in a new excel workbook ready for analysis. Each employee sends in their monthly data, structured identically, with only the numbers in the data tables different. At the moment, we just copy and paste every single data return into the separate worksheets of a single workbook, and on the front page of the workbook we create a simple formula which adds the equivalent cell in each sheet together to get a total. Its not hard to do, but its very lengthy as a process. What I've been researching, is the possibility of a macro that can automatically send the outputs of separate workbooks into one central workbook, so that we don't need to go through the copy and pasting of each return every month.
E.g, Say I have 10 workbooks, named Book1, Book2, Book3 etc, which each have a number ranging from 1 - 10 in cell A2. Could A macro be designed to bring all those values together into cell A2 of an 11th workbook, e.g one entitled book11? I'm aware that said Macro may need to exist in each separate workbook in order for the process to be carried out.

in moving data from multiple columns to a single column. I have attached a sample image from an excel file which details the requirement. The first column contains a qualifier, that should remain constant when the data from columns B to the end move to a single column "B". The number of columns for each row is different, however, there is a maximum number, say 25. As mentioned in the image, when the data from columns B to the end is moved in to column B, column A is retained fixed, to the original value, and the original data below it is pushed below. Any pointers to how this can be achieved by VBA or without VBA?

I saw this thread from June Cut & Paste Macro: Move Address From Column To Row and I think this what I would like to have my macro do. I have one column which is copied and pasted as text in excel and there is several blank rows.
I attached the spreadsheet example - it has 40 lenders, with the top row being the lender name (A1), followed by address(A2), city-state (A3), two blank rows(A4-A5), lender type (A6), approved date (A7), one blank row (A8), lender specialty (A9), telephone (A10) , e-mail address(A11) and two blanks rows (A12-A13) and A14 starts over again. For this example there should be 8 columns and 40 rows (lender name, address, etc...). As I mentioned I think the previous thread's macro would work with some minor tweaks. I couldn't figure out the best way to handle the blank rows and or remove the blanks and what to add or take out of the macro code.

I'm trying to work out how to take all cells with data from multiple columns and stack them in a single column.
Here's the history...
I have multiple part numbers in single cells in column A. I perform a text-to-columns function. The resulting part numbers spread across multiple columns (say, B through K). Now I need to get all the part numbers, in their own cells, stacked in column A for one continuous list of single cell part numbers.
Is there a VBA option for cutting only the data cells from Column B-K and pasting the data at the bottom of column A while avioding blank cells?

I have a long list of data with many columns and I'd like all the information to be in one column without manually copying and pasting each column and adding to the first column. The data has different amounts of rows and columns as well. An Example is below. I'm using Excel 2010. Is there a formula or something for this? This isn't the data I'm using but just an example since I do this frequently.

I need a macro that will examine column A starting at A2 and working its way down copying the data in the first cell (A2) and then delete that row. If the next cells are empty (usually the next 5 cells) it should paste this copied value in each of the empty cells until it comes to the next cell with data in it. At this point it should copy this next value and delete the subsequent row and copy this value in each of the empty cells directly following (again, usually 5) until it finds the next cell that has data in it. At this point, again the whole process begins again repeating it self until it comes to the end where no more data is.
Here is an example of what I need done:
This sheet:

B
C
D

Item Number

Type 2

Should look like this:
Sheet1

Case InStr(oColHeader, "how much", 1) > 0
Selection.EntireColumn.Copy
Case InStr(oColHeader, "level of sat", 1) > 0
Selection.EntireColumn.Copy

I am trying to come up with the most efficient way to copy data to multiple sheets within the same Excel workbook. The original data exists within one column on a summary sheet (could have up to 500 individual entries). I want to copy each individual entry to a unique sheet (that already exists), but in the exact same cell location within each sheet. I would only want to copy the original data value and not any formatting. Is there an efficient way to do this?
In my example spreadsheet, the original data is on the SUMMARY sheet. Sheets A through J would be the target sheets, with cell B2 as the target location for each of those sheets. My example shows the result of a manual copy paste value process, but I am hoping to automate that.

I tried using Columns("D,F,I,J,K").delete but I kept on getting 13 error.

I am creating a spreadsheet to provide to a group of about 40 people. The spreadsheet allows each member to track the referrals they receive and give. I need to plan on creating updates for the spreadsheet and want to make it so they can easily transfer their data to the most current version in the future. Here is a breakdown of the workbook:
Worksheets:
Members
Lists
Referrals Given
Referrals Received
Totals
Formulas
I need to copy the data that they have input from the following worksheets:
Referrals Given
Referrals Received
Here is a breakdown of the "Referrals Received" worksheet:
A1:V4 - Data that will not change and includes many named cells
A5:Nxxx - Dynamic Named Range where they input their data
O5:Vxxx - Contains formulas
I need to be able to copy
A5:Vxxxxx
from the old workbook to the new
Some side items to note:
There is VBA in the worksheet of
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
and included in the code is an Unprotect & Protect code to always keep the sheet protected
I figure whatever works for this sheet will work for all the sheets.

I have this spreadsheet, I have a title in cell A1, then the following column headers alternate betweens entries I want and those I don't (in this case A in Cell B1, an irrelevant value in C1, C in Cell D1, an irrelevant value in E1, D in Cell F1 etc...).
What I want to do is take the original value, so A from B1 and make it Aa, then make C1 contain the same A, but this time Ab.
It should be very obvious what I'm after from the spreadsheet.

I'm trying to create a macro that will look at the values in one column (column G) and whenever there is a new value, it will copy the data from 2 other columns (I and J) into a new sheet with the original column as the title. I can't think of a better way of explaining that so I've attached a sheet with 'Raw data' being the source sheet and 'Outcome' being the hoped for final product.
I have color coded the sheet to show where the data is coming from, but do not want the colors in the actual sheet.

Was looking into this, but basically i have a repetitive task of copying contents from various columns, and pasting them into 1 column.
1 right after the other. I figured there could be a way for a macro to copy contents from multiple columns and paste them into 1 column.
I have including 2 files, 1 from the start of the file, and 1 how it should be so it will have clarify what i am trying to do.
So basically if you open book1 , i have factory install tabs,
I need the columns contents from the first tab the (5k-20k) starting with Column B, then E, then H, and so on( Every 3rd column starting with B ) to be copied and pasted in Column A of the (Factory Install Tab) ( last tab ).
If you open the 2nd file this will be clearly understood. In the second file in the factory install tab you will notice i did the first 2. I highlighted each starting part in yellow just so its easier to see. SO in column A you should have all the contents in the 5k-20k tab ( starting with b every 3rd ), pasted in column A 1 after the other.
The next tab is the 30k tab, i need all of the columns contents copied starting with B ( every 3rd again ), copied in Column C of the Factory Install tab. Basically every tab's contents needs to have its own column in the Factory Install tab.
If anyone could help that would be great, this is a very time consuming process manually, and it would seem like a macro could be made to easily copy contents.

I have a time card report which will record the time spent on work for each employee. Each month, i have to generate the time card report and copy the data to my master file. Is there any code that can auto copy the time card entry directly to the master file? I only need some of the entry on the time card report, some of the column can be ignored.
I was thinking of creating a macro that will prompt me to choose the file to import as there are different file for different individual. Attach here with the master list (Demo.xls) & the time card for one individual (Nov-KTTHAM.xls) for reference.
I want to copy the data on column B of the time card to the column A of the master list, column C to column B, column D to column C, column E to column D, column F to column E and column G to column G.
