The VP of our company needs me to create a spreadsheet.
For this s/s I need the following:
Imagine 2 sheets in Excel...
sheet1
sheet2
sheet2 has sequential numbers in column1 starting in row2 with the number 1 until wherever..., so cell A2 has number 1, cell A3 has number 2, etc...
Manually, a user has to fill in certain text next to a number.
This for example would look something like this:

In a cell on sheet1 I now need the number from column A displayed, that has the latest entry in column B.
In the example above this would have to be the number 3 in cell A4, because right next to it (in cell B4) is the last entry "Whatever the third error would be..."
Addition: There are several sheets, each sheet stands for one error listed on sheet1 in column A
sheet1 for example would look like this:

In this example, because "whatever error" (cell B2 to B4 on sheet2) was found on press 934 was the 3rd error (cell A4), the number 3 (cell A4) would have to be populated on sheet1 in cell D4.

In D2 through to kq2 it puts the number in to the cell that correspnds to a multiple of the number in b2.
That would put 1000 in cells m2,w2,ag2,aq2, ba2 and so on
In D3 through to kg3 it it puts the number in to the cell that corresponds to a multiple of the number in b3
that would put 1580 in cells y3,au3,bq3,cm3,di3 and so on

May 1, 2014(3) examples when I type a number to a cell:
If I type a number "1", I want that cell to show 1.000% but not 100.000%.
If I type a number ".2", I want that cell to show 0.200% but not 20.000%.
If I type a number "25.5", I want that cell to show 0.255% but not 2550.000%.
I play around with the below custom format cells but they do not work.

I could use two cells one for number, other cell has a % mark. But I rather to format a single cell if it is possible.

Till 174 (T0215) - till keeps turning itself off.
Till 245 - stuck on windows screen
116 - keyboard is unresponsive
Berkel Scale is constantly beeping
ped not reading cards Till 156
How can I show only the numbers from these cells (i.e. B1 will be 174, B2 will be 245 etc...)? As you can see the number isn't always in the same place, and doesnt always have the same characters either side.

Mar 3, 2008i have duplicate cell entries occuring. I have a column of about 8000 entries (Column B) and would like to have a cell at the top of my spreadsheet that displays where the first duplicate resides (Row No. will suffice).
At present i have a conditional format on dupllicates, but is is a big task to scroll down through all the data looking for them.

So, for example, if you click U.S.A., two pictures for U.S.A. show up; if you scroll down to Canada, two pictures show up. Hide Or Show An Image Based On A Cell Value
Mar 31, 2009I have a spreadsheet with two bitmap images inserted into it. In cell E2, I will enter a number, either a 1 or a 2. if I enter a 1, I want only the first image to be visible. If I enter a 2, I only want the second image to be visible. Is there a way to accomplish this (hopefully without the need for macros)? I've attached a spreadsheet as an example of what I'm trying to do. Also, note that I'd like the images to be stacked on top of each other so that they show up in the same place regardless of wether there's a 1 or a 2 in cell E5

Show Numbers Based On Percentage In Cell
Sep 15, 2007I have a rather large report full of data, 10+ columns contain a RANKING column, and these ranks, 1-10, are assigned by a % bracket:
1-20% = 1
21-40% = 2
41-60% = 3
61-80% = 4
81-100% = 5
101-120% = 6
121-140% = 7
141-160% = 8
161-180% = 9
181-200% = 10
There are several hundred rows in each column that all need individual ranks. My first thought is to program a if then else statement for 1 to 10 with a % limit range, but this isnt feasable as i would have to program a separate if statement for each of the many hundred rows, or do one heck of a fancy loop that i just cant contemplate (as the rows are split and sepperated... no solid uniform place for the data to be plugged.) What is the best way to go about this? I'm at a total loss of ideas with my knowledge of excel.

Sheet1 has a few comboboxes saying (YES / NO) conditions Which are assigned to particular cells (for Ex: say Combobox1 value assignes to Sheet1!B5 )
If Sheet!B5 = YES some rows in Sheet2 Say ( Row12 ,Row 15,Row 16) has to be hide.
I will add a command button to sheet1 and call macro if i click command button checking the conditions in sheet1 combo boxes..rows in sheets2 has to hide..

If A5 Sheet2 value can be found in ColumnA Sheet1, look for a number in ColumnC, same ROW and compare it to C7 in Sheet2 ?
Bring up difference value, which in this case would be one.
Running Total In Cell Based Upon New Number Being Entered Into Different Cell
Apr 10, 2014I am creating a spreadsheet for inventory use. I want to have a running total in (1) cell based upon a new/different number being entered into a different cell.
Column B, Row 1 (This will be a new/different number entered every day - inventory in or out, so positive or negative number)
Column D, Row 1 (This will be a running total based on numbers inserted in previous 2 columns)
Basically what I have is a key inventory. So there is column A with key number, B should be keys IN, C should be keys OUT, or ideally B would be IN and OUT meaning, for inventory IN input a positive number and for inventory OUT input a negative number, and D Should be total.
Column E represents number of keys currently in the inventory. I was going to hide the current inventory column so all you see is IN/OUT and total.
So what I need is to be able to just come in and type in a number in the IN and/or OUT column, without having to add/subtract it with the number already in that column.
Bottom line, I'd like to be able to use IN and/or OUT columns to just type in numbers as they come and not have to worry about what's already in those columns and get correct total number.
Ok here it is. Attached worksheet shows
Column A - Key Numbers...No data value
Column B - Inventory IN
Column C - Inventory OUT
Column D - Total
Column E - Current Inventory(Starting point)
So the formula I used to get what i currently have is (=B2-C2+E2). This way whatever i input in columns C and C. totals out in D. But this way every time I want to add/subtract a number in B and C, i have to add to the number already in the column. I'd like to be able to type in a number in B and C as i go and still have a correct total. I wouldn't mind having just one column for in/out and use positive and negative numbers to differentiate inventory in or out.

P7 in turn updates in turn based on a user-selected value. As of now, the ComboBox only appears or disppears if I go back in and out of the formula I entered into P7. Basically, I want my ComboBox to dynamically update based on the value in P7. That may sound a little muddled, so here is my code for the ComboBox:

Feb 27, 2008I wrote a small code to hide some columns if a certain cell is equal to a certain string.
The cell is actually a drop down list and when they select a certain one, I want it to hide 2 columns. So I wrote the code with sub name Action, but I want it to be running all the time. I tried to achieve this by writing the following code however it gave me error 438 for my 2nd line.

Feb 18, 2008I am trying to create a table, based on what people predict in sports games. I have most of it in place, but I have hit a brick wall where one part of it is concerned. For example, cells M43:M56 have the scores for each week of what one person predicted., so it could be 2,5,7,2 and so on. What I then need the table to do is determine which round or week it is and display the relevant score. So based on the above let's say it's round 3, and his score would be 7 for the week, and the cell to the right of this shows the week's score plus his total score so far.

Nov 3, 2008I'm trying to get a formula to show me the value of one cell based on the value of another to automate some internal processes. Cell J3 returns today's date, then J4 says what week number that is. J5 concatenates the two to make the look up. Column A is named range "PN", and columns C onwards are named ranges to match the column heading.
What I'm wanting is for the result in test cell 2 (J8), is to return the stock requirements for the current week, based on the result of cell J5. I can do this by using nested IF statements, but that would be 8 cells to calculate, then another one to find the cell that has a value. If there a way to get Excel to recognize the value in J5 as a range name, so it just needs the one formula?

Sep 11, 2009Attached is a excel file that has a working formula for tracking cashier variances. I edited out names etc.
I added a new cell called Track Back on the employee search sheet.
What I want to do is only show variances for the amount of days back selected in the Track Back cell.
For example if I select the last 30 days, only the last 30 days would show up below in the sheet.
I am not sure if this is even possible based on the forumla that is already on the sheet. I couldn't figure out a way of doing it. But there are a lot of people on here much better with excel than me
