If square A1 says deposit account and c1 has a figure in it, i want g1 to repeat the figure,but if a2,a3 etc says something other than deposit account i want g2,g3 to remain blank.What is the formula for square g1etc?

I have even tried with concernate and indirect in A3 but no difference there...
I want A3 to return =B1 but it only returns it in text but i want it in form of a formula. Is there a formula that returns text directly into a formula or an easy way to do this?

I currently, manually create my production work orders using excel (in-house ERP system not good enough).
Rather than manually type in the names of products to be produced, I would like to have the number 1 = a production item and 2 = another and so on.....So basically when I type 1 in a cell it will automatically display a production item.
I imagine this to be a process where i would type all the names of my production items in individual cells, then create a formula to make 1 = a specific cell, 2, 3, 4, etc.....

I am using cell V7 to input the formula but I want cell V7 to tell me if the number in U7 is greater than or equal to the individual #'s in cells U7-U40 and I would like it to put a 1,2,3 in the cells of V7-V40 for the three highest numbers in order of largest to smallest if is this possible?

I'm trying to count if there are situations where column a is equal to a specific number and column b is equal to another number.
both columns are numbers. Does anybody have a good idea how to do this, maybe countif, but i am not sure how to do more than one item with that.

The VP of our company needs me to create a spreadsheet.
For this s/s I need the following:
Imagine 2 sheets in Excel...
sheet1
sheet2
sheet2 has sequential numbers in column1 starting in row2 with the number 1 until wherever..., so cell A2 has number 1, cell A3 has number 2, etc...
Manually, a user has to fill in certain text next to a number.
This for example would look something like this:

In a cell on sheet1 I now need the number from column A displayed, that has the latest entry in column B.
In the example above this would have to be the number 3 in cell A4, because right next to it (in cell B4) is the last entry "Whatever the third error would be..."
Addition: There are several sheets, each sheet stands for one error listed on sheet1 in column A
sheet1 for example would look like this:

I can assign a number of copies to print by adjusting ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.PrintOut Copies:= , but what I want it to have the number of copies auto adjust to the value of a cell that contains a formula. I was hoping it would something as simple as Copies:=cell but no luck...

I need to map 2 reports to show if they are equal.
One report has 2 columns with name and amount of what was sent to a vendor.
The second report has 2 columns with name and amount of what they received.
The second report name column has account number added so the column won't be exact.
I need to compare the 2 reports to see if the same name and amount was correctly sent/received
Example:
Report 1 (sent)
Column 1-Name Sandra
Column 2-Amount $100
Report 2 (received)
Column 1-Name Sandra/284578
Column 2-Amount $100
I am not sure how to display my findings. I would need to identify what is not matching.

For this example, A1 is the given at 19.875 I am trying to get A2 to net a result of 19.5. A2 is to net that result by searching through cells B1:B14 and finding the nearest equal or lower number. If A1 is less than 13.5 a result of "error" should be generated in A2.

B3=17.5
B4=19.5

How to correct my formula because it does not work?
Here the formula: =COUNTIFS(Data!C2:C24005,A17,Data!M2:M11149,"<=0")
I need to insert the formula in column C (Findings tab) which counts the rows in Column M (tab named "Data") that equal A17 (Column A in "Findings" tab) and which are less or equal zero. In addition if I drag the formula down I want to only the values be entered in highlighted in blue cells in column C (SKUs With Zero Sales in "Findings" tab) and empty cells in not highlighted cells. I attached images of these two tabs: Data and Findings.

(3) examples when I type a number to a cell:
If I type a number "1", I want that cell to show 1.000% but not 100.000%.
If I type a number ".2", I want that cell to show 0.200% but not 20.000%.
If I type a number "25.5", I want that cell to show 0.255% but not 2550.000%.
I play around with the below custom format cells but they do not work.
_0.01*#.000%
_0.01*#,.000%
0.01*#,.000%
I could use two cells one for number, other cell has a % mark. But I rather to format a single cell if it is possible.

Lets say cells A1 to A5 contain these lines of information:
Till 174 (T0215) - till keeps turning itself off.
Till 245 - stuck on windows screen
116 - keyboard is unresponsive
Berkel Scale is constantly beeping
ped not reading cards Till 156
How can I show only the numbers from these cells (i.e. B1 will be 174, B2 will be 245 etc...)? As you can see the number isn't always in the same place, and doesnt always have the same characters either side.

i have duplicate cell entries occuring. I have a column of about 8000 entries (Column B) and would like to have a cell at the top of my spreadsheet that displays where the first duplicate resides (Row No. will suffice).
At present i have a conditional format on dupllicates, but is is a big task to scroll down through all the data looking for them.

How to recreate the formulas used in my old database. One important factor is that:
In the old database, once you type in a word, it associates it to a number, and also adds that number in a further row. how do i do this?.
EXAMPLE:
- i have the word "sitter" that = 10.25$. If i enter "sitter" in column F, it enters 10.25$ in column M.
- Likewise, i can also have the word "private" that = 13.50$. If i enter "private" in column F, it enters 13.50$ in column M.

I am looking to do the following:
Say I enter the following values into a spreadsheet:

Is there a way to enter the value "36" and have Excel find the two values of 32 and 4 which add up to 36 for me? I will obviously be dealing with much larger spreadsheets and would like to somehow save time by not having to hunt down possible combinations of the total value I'm searching for.

I'm looking at test results and would like to know how many times in a row correct answers were given before getting one incorrect. The way I have this currently set up, is if a student has the answer correct it returns a "TRUE" value, and a "FALSE" value for an incorrect answer. A typical test may have 50 questions, so I would have either "TRUE" or "FALSE" values in rows A1 through A50.
So I've been trying to figure out a formula that counts the number of times "TRUE" rows repeat 'consecutively' in a given column, in this scenario column A. The formula would need to check the current row and if "TRUE" check the row immediately after, if that row is also "TRUE" then check the row immediately after that, until it runs into a "FALSE" string, then display that total count of consecutive "TRUES" in another cell. I understand there may be duplicate results but I'm only really interested in the longest value, so duplicates can be ignored.
If it makes the formula easier, each possible result can be assigned to it's own cell. Let's assume the test has 50 questions. So if a student got all 50 questions correct the result count would be 50 in cell B50, or if they got 25 correct before the first incorrect answer, cell B25 would say 25, etc. I'm guessing I could then easily query this column for the largest value to come up with what I need at a glance.

I have two date columns, a start date and end date. Another columns tells me the number of days between these two columns. It may return 45 days which actually straddle 3 different months.
My aim is to identify between this date range how many days in Apr 14. Then in the next column howmany days in May 14 etc
So on the spreadsheet Id have 12 columns for each month of the year. in Apr 14 for each row between the given date range I want it to tell me how many days are actually in April. Id then copy that formula into the May 14 column.

In my Excel spreadsheet I enter todays date in a single cell (A2), then I list various dates that jobs come into shop in other cells (A8:A108). I have cells ( F8:F108) where I have been manually entering an asterik (*) for those jobs equal to or greater than five days old in cell (A2). Is there a formula that can do the math for me? I've tried Excel help but to no avail.

I have a spreadsheet with two colums with dates. The names of the ranges are 'DataContractualStartDate' and 'DataContractualEndDate'.
How do I manage to count the no. of records with equal dates at the same row?
I have used the following but this gives me zero, while in the example below the result should be 3.

I have a standard block of text with numbers in it pulled from various calculations in a financial model. I have done this through a formula
e.g. ="You gross profit percentage is " & D9 & "% and your gross profit is $" & D10 & "." Problem is i'd like to format the numbers that pull through so they are easier to read. At the moment in the above example D10 results in $-600000000. I'd like it to look like $(600,000,000).

I'm having trouble with a small vba macro. At the end of the macro I test to see if two variables are equal and then print out true or false. However, for some reason even though the variables are equal vba is not treating them that way. I have put the values that represent the variables on a spreadsheet and used the if(x1=x2) formula and it says it is true, also, when I debug the macro and watch the values when it comes to test the logical expression the numbers are the same. I don't understand why vba does not say that the two variables are equal. I have attached a screenshot of the breakpoint where I double check the values are equal.

I need to count the number of equal cells in col D beginning at the top of the column. The counted cells must begin with a text prefix of "Category:" without the quotes.
Some but not all of the cells in col D begin with a prefix of "Category:" without the quotes, followed by a word or words following the word "Category:" See examples below. All of the terms prefixed with "Category:" in col D are in alphabetical order. I need to count the number of identical cells in col D with the "Category:" prefix.
Examples of the contents of cells in col D with the "Category:" prefix are as follows:
Category: Adversity
Category: Answers
Category: Assurance
Category: Blessings
Category: Build
Category: Change
Category: Children
Category: Choices
Cells above and below cells with a prefix of "Category:" in col D are not adjacent.Cells above and below cells with a prefix of "Category:" in col D are separated by 3 to an undermined number of rows.
I need to count the number of equal cells in col D and insert the count in col A at the last equal term. For example, col A above would have 93, 1, 1, 5, 10, 8, 3, and 12 inserted into col A.

I have two cells, both of which have drop down lists for options 'a' & 'b'. When one equals 'a' the other should be restricted into only saying 'b' and vice versa. I would also like the user to be reminded that he can only select 'a' once from the two menus. Ideally I would like to do this in a formula rather than VBA?
