I am using following command to check if a command button with 'Email This Page' written on it Exists in active worksheet or not. It always gives not present.
Dim s As String
On Error Resume Next
s = Application. CommandBars(1).Controls("Email This Page").Caption
If Err.Number = 0 Then
MsgBox "It exists"
Else
MsgBox "Not here"
End If
I want to use one button with a macro attached to it to locate data on a different worksheet. So I highlight the "activecell" I want to find on the other spreadsheet then click on the button and it goes to the correct spreadsheet and filters for the data I want (relevant to the activecell).
I've been using the following code to bring in individual cell values from one closed workbook to an active one. I would like to modify this is possible to bring in multiple cells at once and also pull them into a different worksheet in the active workbook. Basically, my command button is on Sheet1 but I'd like the data to pull into a cell on Sheet2.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() With Range("Q9") .Formula = "='C:Users[Workbook Name.xlsm]Worksheet Name'! N27" .Value = .Value End With
I inserted a Command Button ("Button1") in a Worksheet ("Sheet5"). I want to disable this button while the vba is running. How do I refer to this form control from vba?
Not to sure if it can be done but i would like to have a button on my spread sheet that once pushed it automaticaly saves my worksheet as a PDF in a selected company folder in my documents.
I know if you go to file and save as PDF, then save in selected folder will work, just looking for a quicker way so my staff just needs to push one button on the worksheet and it does it all. (dummy proofing the form i guess)
I need to enable and disable command buttons in my code. These command buttons are located on sheets. I assume that I can simply set the Enable property, but I am having trouble referencing the command button. I thought I could simply reference it by name but that is not working.
i have one workbook consist of many worksheets, i want to have command button in sheet 3 that if i click the button the sheet1 and sheet2 will copy to another new workbook.
I have a main worksheet that has two combo boxes. The first combo box has a list of machines. The second combo box brings up a list of models for the type of machine selected. I would like to insert a command button, that when pressed will open a different worksheet with the specs of the model selected in the second combo box. I am having trouble finding a starting point for the code to have the command button perform this.
I have a combobox that is referenced to a named list 'ListReels'. There are only 8 choices (Reels 1 -8), and each has an accompanying worksheet in the workbook. The user selects a reel, then inputs other information. When an 'Enter' command button is clicked, I had like the data to be entered onto the next available row of the worksheet with the same reel name (eg, if reel 2 is selected from the combobox, then the data should be added to the Reel 2 worksheet on the next blank row.
i have a workbook with two sheets. i have a command button on sheet 1 that inserts another worksheet from another workbook based on a cell value in sheet 1. i would like this specific command button on sheet 1 to be hidden or disabled until a value is entered into a certain cell on sheet 1 that matches a value in a named range on sheet 2.
I have a workbook with two worksheets, "Main" and "Control".
Both of them are with hidden tabs (unchecked "show sheet tabs").
On worksheet "Main" I have command button which opens worksheet "Control".
The assigned makro is: Sheets("Control").Select
The problem is: when I open "Control" and close after that the workbook, the next time when I open the workbook "Control" pops-up instead of "Main" even though I do not save it.
1. I need macro on "Main" which will allow me to open "Control".
2. Regardless I "Save" or "Don't Save" "Control" when selected and workbook is closed, to open the workbook always displaying worksheet "Main".
Is it possible that when you press a command button, that the first thing it does is to execute the code assigned to another command button (IE in another sub).
How can I return name of a command button on click? I want to create some sort buttons on a sheet I will use regularly to speed things up. I thought if I could call each sort button by the column letter the button sits in I can use this in a single sub for all buttons
e.g the button sitting in column A is called "A". when i click the button, it returns it's name to a variable which I can then use to sort column A. I know I could create a seperate routine for each button but I was just trying to think of something neater.
i want to create a save button in sheet 1, on clicking the same the data entered in the particluar cells of sheet 1 should get saved in sheet 2 in given format
This is probably really straight forward but cant see why it happens, the following macro works fine when called by a button created by the form toolbar but doesnt when called by a command button, get the runtime error 1004, "select method of range class failed"
I have read several articles saying using a command button as a toggle button can't be done but some articles have said it is possible using the state properties.
.State = msobuttondown .State = msobuttonup
Is there any way to combine this with the onaction property so that when you press the button, it stays down and activates a macro then when you press it again it pops back up and activates another macro.
I am trying to write some code that will check a range of names within a worksheet and if there is a sheet with a name from the range excel should ignore it and move on to the next range. If no such worksheet exists it should create it. When the code encounters a blank range, it should stop the code.
I have tried several different variations, and either I can't make the "check if exist" statement to work, or I am having problems with it not working for more than one loop. After reading previous posts on this forum, I have tried with err.clear, next ws in worksheet and all types of codes but I can not make it work.
When I am running the code, it will stop on second loop at [If (Worksheets(rangename).Name "") Then] and give me a runtime error 9 - subscript out of range.
This is the code:
Sub CreateSections()
Dim i As Integer Dim rangename As String Dim Newsheet As String Dim Nextrow As String
I need to create a worksheet and then populate it with header row containing columns names, and with values starting at row2. Before I do all this I wanted to first create a spreadsheet, I was successful in getting this done by getting a piece of code from this website. But, what if spreadsheet already exists from a previous run, then, in that case I want to clear the contents. Before I get too far ahead, I am unable to escape runtime error 9, array subscript out of range whenever I use any sort of code to check if the sheet exists.
Also, my attempts to circumvent this error by putting in errorhandling is ignored, i.e. I get the standard run-time error message box, but, not what I want the code to do is such an error occurs.
Function wsExists(wksName As String) As Boolean On Error Resume Next wsExists = CBool(Len(Worksheets(wksName).Name) > 0)End Function
I need to allow users to add up to seven new worksheets as required and the new sheets must be named Image1, Image2, etc. I do not want to add seven worksheets at once, only one at a time as the need arises and no new ws can be allowed after Image7 ws is added.
I have a macro to test for the existence of ws Image1, but need help on further development to add and test for the extence of the remaining sheets.
Dim ws As Worksheet Dim bTest As Boolean For Each ws In Worksheets If ws.Name = "Image1" Then bTest = True Exit For End If Next ws
If bTest = True Then 'Need some code here, not sure what I need
I have a workbook, with an around 70 sheet. Every sheet presents a sample reprot supplied by my client, the 3rd row in every sheet holds the report's title, (actually, not the whole 3rd row is merged, only specific range of cells are merged and this range is different among the sheets, e.g.: In the first sheet, the cells B3:M3 are merged to hold the title where in the second sheet , the cells B3:N3 are merged)
Now i need to copy all these titles to a separate sheet,
if I have to un- merge the cells or re-merge the whole row, I will not mind, espically if I will get a quiker solution since i also have another 3 similar workbooks.
I have searched this topic but I came up with nothing regarding my exact situation.
I have 5 buttons on sheet 1. I want them to all direct me to another sheet in the same workbook. However, some buttons will contain more than one sheet.
Example: Button 1 will direct me to 4 different sheets. Is this possible?
Also, When I open the workbook, I see many sheets that I am working from but I do not want them to show up when I open the workbook. The only way to see these sheets is to click on the command buttons at the top of sheet 1.
I tried both IF and LOOKUP and failed. I'm trying to search for values from one worksheet and identify whether or not those values exist in another worksheet. I attempted the following lookup in field A2:
=LOOKUP(B2,Sheet3!A$2:A$914,Sheet3!C$2:C$914)
B2 (thru B5000 or so) contains values I want to search for; sheet3!A$2:A914 is where I want to look and column C of that same sheet, entered the text "Yes" in an attempt to have the results list "Yes" for hits and N/A for misses. (All fields are text.) I copied the formula all the way down the sheet in column A. The result it is returning is N/A in A2 and Yes in A2 -to the bottom, which is incorrect.
