Conditional Format Of Colors In Pie Charts

Jan 18, 2008

I want to conditionally format the fill colour of pie or donut segments based on either the value of the segment (e.g. red for negative, green for positive), or based on the value of related cells (e.g. Equal sized segments coloured red for related %age value >40, amber for 40 to 60, green >60).

Assigning Bar Charts Different Colors Based On RGB Numbers In Table With VBA Macro

Apr 30, 2014

I have some excel sheets that are formatted like the following:

COMPANY | TOTAL | R | G | B
company1 | 10 | 255 | 000 | 000
company2 | 20 | 000 | 255 | 000
company3 | 30 | 000 | 000 | 255
...
and so on...

My question is that I would like to have a macro that runs on this basic file and creates a bar graph with the data. Then it utilizes the RGB values in the columns to change the specific bar for that row. So setting the r, g, b as variables corresponding to the columns in the sheet. Also there isn't a preset number of rows in the files.

Charts: Vary Colors By Point With Area Fill Effect

Oct 30, 2006

I am attempting to create simple charts to show survey results 2005 v 2006. I have a single series in a bar chart - chart type. The wizard initially makes both bars the same fill color. I right-clicked one of the bars to start the Format Data Series Wizard. On the 5th tab, "Options", I ticked "Vary Colors By Point". A new color was assigned to the top or first bar. So far so good. But instead of these colors, I would like to use a different fill effect for each data point in the series

So I walk through the wizard and desiqn a fill effect and click ok. The fill effect is assigned to both data points. I checked where I had ticked "Vary Colors By Point"
It is still ticked. Can I override this somehow so that each data point can have a unique fill effect?

Months To Be Sorted In Ascending Order In Pivot Table, Want To Use Multiple Colors In Pivot Charts

Sep 18, 2008

My input data for Pivot table has a column named "Month". The month values are like April 07, April 08, Nov07 in random order for period between Jan 07 to Aug 08.

When I create a pivot Table, this column is sorted alphabetically (April 07 is followed by April 08) but I need it to be sorted in the ascending order with respect to month (April 07 is followed by May 07).

I further use this data to plot a Pivot Chart. There is another issue here. I want to use separate colors for each series. I do not know how to achieve above 2 things.

Conditional Worksheet Tab Colors

Nov 8, 2006

I've worked out the following to change the tab color of a "sub" sheet when data on a master sheet is changed. Could anyone recommend the best way to apply this to multiple sheets (20+) without writing an "if" statement for each "sub" sheet?

Private Sub Workbook_SheetChange(ByVal Sh As Object, ByVal Target As Range)
If Worksheets("Sheet2").Range("E7").Value <> 0 Then
Worksheets("Sheet2").Tab.ColorIndex = 4
Else: Worksheets("Sheet2").Tab.ColorIndex = xlColorIndexNone
End If
End Sub

The master sheet is a bill summary where totals are added, if one of the line items is a subcontracted item the total on that particular subs sheet changes from "$0" and i would like the tab color to change on any sub sheet that is affected by the current quantities billed.

Conditional Font Colors

Jun 14, 2008

We use a several Excel files to keep track of who has booked retail space with us. We have a main sheet that has every space within every shopping Mall we deal with. We then have different files for each Mall (this is so we can email the file to the shopping mall to show who is booked in each space but they don't see all the other shopping malls details). We have the other files set-up to read information from the main sheet so when we update a cell with the booked companies name it updates a cell on the relevant file.

This part all works fine, but we also change the booked companies colour depending on if they have they have paid, not paid or awaiting invoice. Currently we change this by hand on the main file then on the other files. I am hoping someone maybe able to explain a way of adding to the formula we already use to update the relevant cells automatically to enable the font (or cell if its easier) colour change to be carried across to the other files.

Conditional Formatting :: Change Colors As Per Dates

Oct 23, 2009

Iím sure conditional formatting is the way forward with this but canít quite get the formula right. I need 2 columns: Column A will have dates that an event happened on. Column B will be blank until we have received back in a letter that went out on the date in column A. At which point the date the letter was received back in will be entered into column B

What I need is for the Colour of Column B to change from green (before and on the date of Column A) to Amber (for the next 3 days) and then red (from Day 5 onwards. This would be until a date was entered in column B (the date the letter is received back in) at which point it would just go back to white. This would keep a check on how long the letter was out for and whether we need to chase it up or not and with an increasing urgency.

Format Certain Cells To Change Colors Depending On Date

Feb 27, 2013

I am trying to format certain cells to change colors depending on the date and the content of the next field to show due dates.

cell label
due date
date completed

c5
au5
be5

c6
au6
be6

c7
au7
be7

c8
au8
be8

What I need is for the contents of au5 to be green up until 10 days before the due date, yellow up until 5 days, and red with less than 5 days until the due date. If the date completed is entered into be5, then the contents of au5 should be black.

Is this possible, and if it is, how do I set this up? I tried to use

=$AU5-TODAY()>=10

And choose green formatting (something I found on yahoo answers), but when I enter the date the text is still the original black font.

Excel 2010 :: Counting Cells With Interior Colors Set Via Conditional Formatting

How to sort out a way to count cells whose fill colors have been set via conditional formatting.

I'm sure that I was once able to use Chip Pearson's CountOfCF function back in the days of Excel 2003, as it worked around the 3 condition limit and used .ColorIndex which assumed that you'd only ever be formatting using the .ColorIndex values of 1 to 56, but I can't seem to be able to get it to work in 2010.

Changing Cells Colors In Relation To Cell Input - NOT Conditional Formatting Ques

Mar 22, 2008

I'm a average excel user, i know my way around it and kow common and basic formulee, VB isnt a strong point, but i am willing to attemp anything for this, let me explain

Lets say in colum A I have a list of items, in colum B i have a check box, currently the check box is red, if i tpye a x it turns green due to conditional formating. That works fine...onto the problem...

Lets say in colum A i have my items but they are repeated...eg A1, A145, A166, A122 are all the same item, what i want is regardless of where i place the x each check box under coloum B either gets a X and turns green, or just turns green, i dont mind...

I dont think conditional formatting can cut this, though i may be wrong. Ive tried to use the IF function under condtional formatting but ran into problems...

Excel Pallet Lost Colors (hovering Displays Colors But Visual Clues Are Not Shown)

Jul 7, 2013

My pallet lost color-coding - if I hover over each little scare it displays the names for the colors and if I click on them they color the cells with the right colors, but the palette itself lost the visual display of colors except for 8 colors: black, blue, red, magenta, yellow, cyan, and white.

I use color-coding of cells a lot and I find it difficult to work without visual clues. At least the hover-support allows me to get the work done, but with difficulty.

Format Multiple Charts Via VBA?

I have 23 Charts on a sheet which I place into a MS Word Doc. ATM all charts have borders, which is what one of my Managers like, however another Manger likes these charts without borders. I tried to record a macro so I could have this done by VBA (excel 2007) but it did not record the formatting. write a code to remove a border and and then add a border back in specifying colour, border styles (width etc). Say just for Chart 38, I can the just repeat this. But here are all the chart numbers in case you need them: 38,20,27,5,11,21,13,6,9,19,10,7,28,29,30,31,32,12,33,34,37,35 & 36.

Apply Conditional Formatting To Bars In Bar Charts

Aug 29, 2006

I have created an excel file that contains a lot of worksheets which contain a lot of raw data and charts. There are 5 different tabs for 5 different companies. Each tab currently contains only 1 year of raw data for that company. Then I have another excel worksheet that has nothing but charts on it. Each chart is a bar chart that shows each of the 5 companies. It also shows the current rate for the month for each company and the 12 month average for each company. On the chart there are also 3 lines. There is a standard line that we try to meet each month. There is also a line for the upper control limit and a line for the lower control limit. Here is my problem:

The 2 bar charts (current rate for the month & the 12 month average) are created and updated by the raw data in each of the 5 data sheets.

Based upon the values in each of the cells that create and update the bars on the charts themselves:
I want the bars to be RED if the values are below the lower control limit.

And I want the bars to be GOLD if the values are above the upper control limit.

And I want the bars to be green if the values are in between the upper and lower control limits.

Save Conditional Format Colour But Delete Condition Format

I Added Another 100 Rows this Morning and when I Tried Saving it a Message Saying that Not All the Formatting for the New Data that had Been Added had Been Saved. Is there a Macro or Something I can Run that will Make the Conditionally Formatted Cells Stay the Colour that they are but Delete the Conditional Formatting Part of it Achieved Using "Format" & "Conditional Format" from the Menu Please.

Ideally I would like to be Able to Enter the Number of Rows ( From Row ? to Row ? ) that I want this to Apply to.

Conditional Format Based On A Conditional Format

Feb 9, 2010

I have five fields that have a conditional format applied to them: (see attached).
Columns J, K, L, N and O. These conditionals highlight if a minimum number is entered. Ex. Minimum pushups for a 30 y/o male is 27, if a 26 is entered it highlights red. The total score (where I need this to perform) is calculated in column Q. It will format red if the total score is below 75 but what I can't figure out is how to make it format if any of the previous minimums have not been met.

Ex. In cell L4, his crunches were 25 (a automatic failure -- red formatting). Now the total score is above 75 so it calculates as passing (green), but I need it to highlight red regardless because of the minimum not met in cell L4.
