Formula For Conditional Formatting Wizard

Nov 25, 2009

I am trying to create a formula in the Conditional Formatting wizard.

I would like the formula to format B2:F2 in a particular way if a count of the number of values in this range equals 5 AND if all values are less than or equal to 25.

I have tried with following formula without success:

=IF(AND(COUNT(B2:F2)=5),COUNTIF(B2:F2,”<=25”)=5),””))

Nested IF(AND Formula Error Message) "You've Entered Too Many Arguments For This Function"

Jan 27, 2010

I am entering the following Nested IF(AND statement into a cell and getting a message stating "You've entered too many arguments for this function." Any idea on what formula I can use to get the needed information into this cell based on the fact that there are different inputs that can be entered into the related cell that will trigger the needed respons in the working cell?

=IF(AND(K1051="Down",L1051<2),"Yes","",IF(AND(K1051="Partially Down",L1051<2),"Yes",""))

Conditional Formula Assistance (default To "training Required" Rather Than The Value It Would Give)

Oct 28, 2009

=ROUND(SUMIF($C$26:$C$106,D126, $F$26:$F$106)/COUNTIF($C$26:$C$106, D126), 0). the formula is from a sheet which is used as like a questioning/ skills matrix.

The reference of d126 is a category eg: complaint handling and there might be 4 questions on complaint handling each of the answers being displayed as a number between the cells f26-106. If any of these individual cell results are equal to 0 or 1 then i want the overall answer for the formula to default to "training required" rather than the value it would give.

Conditional Format Of "blank" Cell Containing Formula

I want to color cells in Sheet 1 which do not have input from Sheet 2, but the formulas in the Sheet 1 cells are blocking ISBLANK conditional formatting.

Is there a way around this?

Conditional Sum Wizard

Jun 30, 2009

I'm using the conditional sum wizard to gather the cost of some projects based on two other conditions:
Column 1 is Country
Column 2 is Cost
Column 3 is Category

I have sucessfully used it with several countries but after sucessfully returning the correct resultsa for 5 countries it says "The formula you are building is too long. Please specify fewer conditions" - The amount of conditions is the same as the sum just before it which worked fine!!!

CSE Formulas In Conditional Formatting "Formula Is"

Dec 7, 2006

I have a list of values in a named range called Categories. I use this list in a validation dropdown.

Can I do a CSE formula in the "formula is" field of the conditional formatting dialog such that if one of the values in the list is not chosen, I can color the cell?

I can do a CSE formula to test a list in a cell:

{=if(A1Categories, 1,0)}

This evaluates correctly. I am wondering if there is a way to make this work inside the conditional formatting window. I am trying to avoid the built in error validation msg box options and would love to use this. It's the most efficient way I can think of. I know I can do it by adding another column (and step) and then formatting on the value in there that has the CSE formula, but I thought I'd see if I could learn something new and if this was possible.

Conditional Formatting "1"=Black Or "Z"=Red In 1 Condition

Jan 19, 2009

I'm trying to create a formula in 1 conditional format rule. The goal is to check if al cel contains "1" or "Z". If the value is "1" the cell must turn black and if it is "Z" it turns red.
If this is not possible, I'd like to only turn it black.

I am not able to use vba and have only 1 conditional formatting rule left in my excel 2003 sheet.

To Eliminate "Run-time Error 13" Message

Sep 29, 2008

I have used a process of elimination by disabling all VBA code and macros throughout this workbook systematically until I traced my problems to this code.

Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate()
Dim red1TargetCell As Range
Dim red1dblValue As Double
Set red1TargetCell = Sheets("1-A").Range("AC3")
red1dblValue = Val(red1TargetCell.Value)
Select Case red1dblValue
Case 1
Call Red1copypricelog
End Select
End Sub

This code is delivering an error message when the workbook is first opened that reads as follows:

Run-time error "13"
Type mismatch

I can answer "end" to the debug box that appears and the code runs as if there are no problems. I have this code applied to 7 different worksheets within the workbook with slightly altered variable names, so I have to click "end" seven times and then the workbook functions as if all is OK. One other note worthy point is when I have this workbook open, it locks up if I try to open any other excel files at the same time. I want to make sure all my code and macros within this workbook only work within this same workbook. I'm assuming that is why other workbooks are locking up. I may be way off here since my VBA programming is very limited.
