I am copying the entire contents of a worksheet onto a blank worksheet multiple times. The problem occurs with the charts which need updating once copied to reference the new worksheet name. I have tried stepping through each chart and then each SeriesCollection but it seems to fall over part way through.

I want this sum to be added to every sheet of this workbook. each sheet refers to a client, so $J$81, $J$197 etc must be changed for the correct cell that refers to the name of the client. The tab names are alphabetical and so s the list.
Is there any way to do it, without re-entering the formula to each one?
I am trying to select cells, tables and charts by just knowing their name. Thus if possible I would like to only refer to a chart by its name i.e. not know what worksheet they are on. This seems to work for named ranges of cells/tables, but not charts (I can't get my named charts to appear in the "Define Name" dialog).
I found this code that loops through charts on the activesheet and shows the names. However, I would much prefer not to have to specify the sheet or to loop through all the sheets trying to locate the one with the named chart.

I had a question regarding pivot charts. Someone sent me an excel spreadsheet and i wanted to copy the pivot chart exactly but change the values. I just get the error that says "you cannot edit data in calculated fields" etc. I really just want to use the exact same set up but change a few numbers around.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 2 columns (A and B) next to each other that is using a Sum formula and other multiplying formulas. They reference 3 cells in a different column (C) to come up up with the answer for A and B. Therefore A1 and B1 reference C1 C2 and C3 (and possibly if want to use in future column D with D1 D2 D3).
Then in A2 and B2 I want to reference from C4, C5, C6
Then in A3 and A4 I want to reference from C7, C78, C9 etc.... and so on...
Instead of retyping formulas for each row in A and B, I want to copy down, but I getting the wrong answer when I do that.
I am therefore assuming I typing the formula wrong. How do I type it correctly so the cell reference changes automatically when I pull down columns A and B?
Formula for Column A: =SUM($G28:$G30)
Forumla for Column B: =($G28*$H28+$G29*$H29+$G30*$H30)/$B17
Therefore next row should be referenced from G31 to G33 and H31 to H33
But when I copy it only adjusts it for 1 reference down.
I need a macro to do this small task for me. Preferably it should execute when I have selected a cell and press a command button. Here's the way it should work:

Currently I have a worksheet which is organized to have two pages on it. I will try to explain, i.e. imagine one page of the worksheet in the hypothetical range of A1:D26, then another page in the range E27:K50. So it is staggered on the same sheet. Is there an easy way to copy the range of E27:K50 onto another worksheet.
Aside from the regular copy and paste, I am having problems because there are formulas in the 2nd range (E27:K50) which loose their references once copied.
i.e the formula SUM(A1:A10) I would like to be SUM('Master List'!A1:A10) on the new sheet. Is there an easier way then going through all the formulas and adding the master list part.

When I copy the tab and change some of the data within the cells, I want the macro refer to the chart on the current tab and the values in the current tab - as currently it refers to only "Chart 2" and the values in the tab 'Figure 2 - WE OPH'.
I've tried changing the sheet name to ActiveSheet.name but that doesn't seem to work.
I have a sheet that gets updated from external source. For e.g. the B2 cell of sheet updates the date and C2 cell updates the value as on that date from the external link. Since, the value of the cells gets updated every time I open the sheet, I want to copy the value of cells to another sheet in chronological order ,when the file gets opened in different dates, so that I can present data in dynamic pie chart.

I have referenced successfully by manually typing in the reference on row 2 for all values on Sheet 1:
Sheet 1 - C2 needs to reference Sheet 2 - B2. (Sheet2!B2) - no problem all the way across to F2. All those values are correct b/c I manually typed in the reference.
The problem comes when I just want to drag over that same formula to increment for the other cells. It's not incrementing the formula like I need it to.
So, Sheet 1, Row 2 shows how the correct values I need to pull over but was done in a manual way. Sheet 1, Row 5 shows how it increments incorrectly when I try to just drag/copy the formula over. What I need is for Sheet 1 - D5 to reference Sheet 2 - C3, but instead if I try and drag to copy the formula instead of manually typing it in, it increments when I drag reference D2 instead of C3.

I have like 40 buttons attached to 4 rows each. And in that group of rows, i have some cells with an IF= formula, and some minor coding.
The problem is: If i press button 3,4,17,29 before i press every other button before that. I get an reference code fail at the cell.
If i press the buttons in order. Like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 - it appears smoothly.
More info: The button copies data from for example A5:K5 and pastes it into the next blank row of sheet2. But i want to be able to press button 2 before i press button1, without getting an error in my =IF cell.
If i press the 40 buttons in a row, and then starts to mix up the button pressing. It appears smoothly.
Basically, I need to copy and paste upon certain condition (references) and paste related-datas in another sheet corresponding with these references. Every references are organized by lines with indicators on columns.

I have a sheet in Excel (sheet 1)which reads in eleven values. If the data in the 11th value changes then I would like to copy the other 10 values to sheet 2 appending to previous values copied. Date and time on each copy would also be nice if possible.
The values in sheet 1 are being read in via an OPC server from a machine and only change at the and of a batch which could take a few hours.

In the end what I would like to do is everytime there is a change in column N, the macro copies the information from that row into the other tab. I would like the information to overwrite anything that is alraedy in that tab as well. So if someone accidentally putc in a C instead of a K, it will not keep that information in the wrong tab.

I want to use a macro to change attributes of a series in a chart. Unbelievably, if the series has been pasted into the chart from another chart, and although the macro can address the series and even return values (eg name) correctly, the selection simply cycles to one of the original series on the chart.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEssentially I need to copy the first 8 cells in a row in one sheet (for example: A3:I3) when the word "Actuals" is entered into A3 from a drop down list. Then the copied data needs to be pasted to a another existing worksheet in the same workbook in the next available row. The data includes mostly values, but there is a formula in column H that creates a hyperlink out of the content in column G, friendly name in column I.
I am not stuck on the idea of having "Actuals" entered in column A as the trigger or change event and there will be times when a new copy/paste of the same data will need to be done more than once at a later date.
For further information, column B contains a serial number/productID number.

I have three charts in my workbook. I want to attach a macro so that when the chart is clicked it returns to Sheet - Home. I have using the following:
worksheets("Home").activate. But after I protect each chart and the workbook, and save and exit. When I reload the Workbook it has forgotten the assigned macros and nothing happens.
I am trying to create a chart that will allow the user to add/remove series to compare with each other. When adding a series, Excel gives it a name (e.g Series1) the macro is then set to rename it to a particular cell, however the name Excel gives the series varies depending on the order in which the series are added.

would work collect the last series added, which is what I want, but when I apply this I get an run-time '424' error.
I'm looking for a way to name lines in a pivot chart instead of default numbering eg ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(1). This in order to attach variable lines to y-axis no 2 no matter which selection is made in the pivot.

All entries in column "A" will be text and all cells in "B" will be the simple formula "=A2" or "=A3". Due date is calculated by adding the value in "C" to the preceding date in column "D". In the spreadsheet below, the trigger for "Budget set" is "Specs written" with 3 days added to the previous due date.
