View 5 RepliesI have a workbook with many sheets of similar but not identical data. I need to extract columns from each sheet based on 5 header criteria and paste them to a single sheet. Each worksheet contains these 5 criteria.
I've been working with the VBA script I've pasted below. It's grabbing the 5 column criteria that I have in sheet 12, and comparing them to sheet 1 in the workbook, then copying them to sheet 12. This much is good, but I need the script to also return the data from the other worksheets as well. I've tried modifying the script based on other loop functions in other scripts I've found, but I'm not having any luck.
I'm looking for a macro or VBA code that can copy the header/footer and apply them to other worksheets. I have found code to copy to all worksheets but I only want the next two worksheets to have the copied header/footer and not copy to all the worksheets.
I have 6 worksheets the first 3 are schedules, the only thing that will be changed in the header/footer will be work periods. example 12/20/09-01/20/10, all other info will be the same. Is there another way to change the dates without having to open each one and manually changing the date.
Is there a way to enter data into a cell and it would auto fill the Header and Footer in all worksheets? Maybe an embeded marco in the worksheet "TOOLS"?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have this spreadsheet, I have a title in cell A1, then the following column headers alternate betweens entries I want and those I don't (in this case A in Cell B1, an irrelevant value in C1, C in Cell D1, an irrelevant value in E1, D in Cell F1 etc...).
What I want to do is take the original value, so A from B1 and make it Aa, then make C1 contain the same A, but this time Ab.
It should be very obvious what I'm after from the spreadsheet.
I am trying to understand how to simply COPY the Header Rows from one sheet to another sheet.
The first four rows have the report heading with the fourth having the column titles.
Everyday I get reports on Spreadsheet1 from different users, who all keep the same format & Headers and I am trying to compile these on Spreadsheet2. So that I can copy cell data from this Spreadsheet2 to a cells in another spreadsheet3, under same headers but having more or different number of columns and also the command/action runs till the end of Row with data on Spreadsheet1 or Spreadsheet2. Ultimately I am going to append records from Spreadsheet3 onto a table in Access Database. For some reasons I have to keep the reports on Excell spreadsheet.

I am trying to match headers of different files and copy data.If the one of the header is not matched then a new column with the non matching header should be created and the column has to be copied

Trying to paste filtered results except header row. My code below pastes the header row for "Details" 2x. I tried altering the row to row 2, but that caused incorrect results to be returned.

The column header row for a string; if the header contains one of two possible strings then copy the entire column. I've tried the following code but it's not working.

Let's say I have a workbook with 7 worksheets named, for example, "Instruction", "Begin", "Worksheet 1", "Worksheet 2", "Worksheet 3", "End", and "Data". (in that order)
What I want to do is run a macro to go to whatever worksheet that is in between "Begin" and "End" and copy, for example, cells $C$1:$D$10; then paste as formula into worksheet "Data" starting from cell C1 and then down a list (i.e., copied cells from "Worksheet 1" get pasted as formula into "Data" cells C1:D10; then copied cells from "Worksheet 2" get pasted as formula into "Data" cells C11:D20, and so on and so forth).
But if I were to add more worksheets (e.g., "Recipe" and "ToDo") positioned in between "Begin" and "End" and run the macro again, it'll either 1) re-copy all the formulas from the included worksheets back into "Data" including the formulas from the newly added/placed worksheets or 2) it'll add the formulas from the newly added/placed worksheets and paste into "Data" at the end of the list.
Can create the macro to run based on the position of worksheet, and not based on the name of worksheet, since ultimately there will probably be over 10 worksheets between "Begin" and "End".
Is it possible to copy text from a Excel worksheet and paste it into the custom header or can you just type in the three boxes?

I've been trying all morning with no success to make a macro that will copy data from all columns of one workbook containing specified header text to a single column in a different workbook.
So for example, I've got a workbook called coupon barcodes that has multiple tabs for each person redeeming coupons on sheets 2-88 (sheet one can be skipped) and some of the columns are labeled "voucher 1" in cell A4 or B4 or C4 etc. with a list of all the coupon barcodes that customer redeemed below that. I want all of the data from all of the columns in this workbook that have the header "voucher 1" to be copied and pasted into one column (order doesn't matter) also labeled "voucher 1" in another workbook I have open called vouchering database.
There must be a way to do this that is easier than searching the internet all afternoon again

I've been trying find an appropriate formula to extract the column header from a table in a different sheet if the row header and value in that table is known.
in the lookup table the row titles (column A) are product codes, column titles (row 2, D through AX) are business names and the table values are quantity.
In a different table I have product codes in column A and in column B i have the max number/quantity of products for that code. In column C i want to put the company name associated with the product and the number/quantity.
look for a certain value in worksheet A and copy that row of data to Worksheet B.
However, it seems to be only copying the row in worksheet A and pasting it. Is there something that a noob VBA scripter has missed out?

I've been working on creating this line of script but keep getting errors. I need the first row on the first worksheet to copy to the remaining worksheets on the first row. Literally row 1 from the first sheet will pasted in row 1 of the remaining sheets. Here's the final script that I tried.

I would like to copy several cells in a Summary sheet. I have 20 worksheets, corresponding to the information of 20 companies, with exactly the same format. They have obviously different data/figures.
I want to summarize some key figures into the summary sheet. I have already created the links manually and pasted all of them in a row for the first company. Now I would like to copy the same references from the other companies. Even if the cells are blocked with the dollar, excel will not go across the different worksheets to copy the same cells.
How can I do it? Certainly there is an easier way than to do 19* 70= 1330 clicks manually.
I have a workbook containing several worksheets I want to copy to a workbook of their own and save under a specific name/password through a macro.
However, I have five difficulties:
1) I want to new workbook to contain only 1 worksheet. So, only the worksheet copied from the original workbook, and no other worksheets.
2) I want to be able to manually select the destination file for the copied workbook, however. This should be the same file for all workbooks.
3) I want the data copied from original worksheet to be ‘pasted as value’ only, so no formulas in the new workbook.
4) I want the new workbook to be read-only. Therefore I want the workbook to be /locked and password protected. So, the password should be only for altering cells, not for opening the workbook. See also point below.
5) Regarding the naming and passwording part I have made a matrix table in a worksheet named: “Rekeningen” (this worksheet is in the original workbook). This table contains three columns:
Column A, cells 40:65, contains the names of the worksheets I want to copy
Column B, cells 40:65, contains the names of the new workbooks
Column C, cells 40:65, contains the passwords of the new workbooks

Then a popup at asks current reporting date (again this is not current date) for these new tabs only (all these tabs have a date field that needs to be updated) So I assume this will have to store an array of the tabs created. Date WILL go in the same row/column in all tabs.
Then copy paste values all prior months tabs to preserve the history in the old tabs

Now 20+ tabs doing this for you can see how im about to lose my mind. I am stressing them to downsize this mess, so the X number would need to be a value i could mess with in code.
If it wants to just read for the tabs that start with the asked for or current YYYYMM that's fine with me. That way I don't have to input a number.
from an active workbook, I would like to open a new file "testfile" and copy two work sheets ("result1", "result2") into the new file and then close it and continue working in the active workbook. seems simple but i keep getting errors.
