I currently have the formula =Countif(E5:E158,"YES"). This formula works great if when I dont filter, however, I need to filter through the data and I only want it to count the cells that have "Yes" when it is filtered, not just all the cells. I searched to forums and people keep referencing Subtotal() however that is counting all the cells and not pulling out the "Yes" inputs only.

Code:
Do Until rngVisibleColumnCount.Column = Range("HRISData_RoleError").Column

I'm working on a formula for COUNTIF with 3 criteria.
What I'm looking to do is create a formula that counts the number of instances which meet all of the following three criteria:
the value of Column A is >=0 and the value of Column I is >=0 and
how to count the number of occurrences base on a criteria? My sample file contains a Tally Sheet and a template sheet...how can i count the number of occurrences of Yes and No per class? Say for the A class, how can i count the yes or no?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two columns with values. Then I have a third column with one letter A or B.
I'm not used to excel, but I've tried my way with COUNTIFS and I'm pretty sure it's the way to go, but I'm lost in the syntax.
I want to count the number of times the values in the first column is larger than the values in the second column, if the letter is A. And then flip the ">" sign and count that and hopefully the first number is higher.
I have attached a spreadsheet with a small indicative data set to assist in understanding. I am trying to count the number of documents each individual has assigned to them that are not yet 'completed' (ie REGISTERED, IN WORK, REVIEWED). The problem I am trying to overcome is that the document state can be 1 of several values indicated in the same column.
I have tried using this SUMPRODUCT formula:
=SUMPRODUCT((($E$2:$E$11="REGISTERED")+($E$2:$E$11="IN WORK")+($E$2:$E$11="REVIEWED")*($B$2:$B$11="Jones")))
but it is generating incorrect values!
Specifically:
- Jones shoulld return 1
- Franks should return 3
- Smith shoudl return 0
I need to formula to count the number of cells that meet the criteria below,
Find the letters 'AT' in some part of the cell and a blank cell next to it...
Doing a different formula for each, doesn't bring out the correct figure.
I get this work a lot and am looking for a much more effective way of working the dataset,
I have numbers like 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and so on.......
These come under criteria like (1) = 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and so on.....
I am look for an automated way of doing a count of any number that falls under this criteria, so I want to count based on criteria (1) it would count all 1.1,1.2,1.3 and so on as one count.
I am attaching a sample document to see how it is laid out. [URL] .....
I have a spreadsheet that has 35000 entries and i am trying to count how many material are assigned to a particular group but cannot get it to work. I have included a test spreadsheet to explain what i am trying to achieve

I need to count when the following set of 3 criteria criteria are met:
1: The Assessor Initials = DS
2: the month = Mar

I've tried using sumproduct (sucessful for other data) but not able to get it to work with dates.
I have come up with 5 countif formulas that work perfectly separately but need them to be combines into one big criteria.
=countif(PM[ProjectAge],">=200"
=countif(PM[Customer Name],"*" & purch & "*"

I am trying to count the number of rows that have values greater than 10/01/2008 in either of two fields. I tried following formula but instead of giving total number of rows, it returns a random date.

I'm looking for a formula that shows one piece of data but only if another criteria is met. Eg Column A1:A:100 show a piece of paperwork has been issued and column E1:E100 show the area that it's been issued to (North, South, East, Central)
I have a blank work sheet showing various % of things being late as a whole but also want to break this down into the four areas.
i have some formula but not really work,
Code:
=IF(a2"",COUNTIF($a$2:$a$7,a2))
for example :
name
title
expected result (count)
a
x1
3
x5
x3
[code]....
I've looked at the various examples in a search of topics simillar to my topic but I still can not get thsi to work.
I have a work book that contains 2 sheets
Sheet1 is called RawData of Multiple columns
Sheet2 is a quick report basded on Sheet1 data.
I need to find a way to do counts where 2 criteria are met.
Example.
Count the number of Times the phrase Major Victory appears in column M
( Range M1 to M50 ) of Sheet1 IF the value in Column L ( Range L1 to L50 ) of Sheet1 = USA
I tried this:
=COUNTIF(RawData!M1:M50,B1( AND(RawData!L1:L50=$A1)))
I am using B1 and A1 ( from Sheet2 ) as search criteria
but it gave me 0 ( and I know this is wrong ).
Based on the reading I did on simillar topics it appears that I cannot use CountIF in this case.
I have a spreadsheet with a lot of hidden rows in.
How can I do a count that only counts information in the visible cells?
Is there way to do this? I did not find it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use the count if function in VBA to get the number of cells in a range that have a "1" as their value.
The code I have is:

And it's not working.
I am trying to use a "=COUNT(IF(..." formula to count the number of hourly employees that have start dates older than 3 years. Column A has the start dates and column B has the salary status (S/H). =COUNT(IF(AND(A2:A1000<DATE(2004,1,1),B2:B1000="H"),A2:A1000)) This formula returns 1 no matter what I change the data to.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a worksheet with 26 columns of financial data. ACTUAL and BUDGET for each month and year totals for ACTUAL and BUDGET. I've provided the user with the ability to hide months they don't need to see during their current session. For example, if they are working on May, they may choose to hide June through December.
A user has requested Year To Date totals for ACTUAL and BUDGET. I thought this would be relatively simple. Just add two more columns and add up the visible cells.
I got this function from the Microsoft website and it works if I don't add criteria:
I am trying to count all devices by model on sheet1 (FY13 4th QTR Meter Reads) into cell B524. The range is D2:D519.
Where I run into trouble is when I filter the data by Campus, I only want excel to count the number of devices for the model listed (A524) and place it into B524 for the visible rows.
The current formula I'm using is:
=SUMPRODUCT(SUBTOTAL(3,OFFSET(D2:D519,ROW(D2:D519)-MIN(ROW(D2:D519)),,1))*D2:D519=A524)
I have a function to count unique IDs
=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A30000"")/COUNTIF(A1:A30000,A1:A30000&""))
and it works OK.
How can I count the IDs only in the visible rows after applying a filter?
I have columns of data that can be filtered. My problem is that I'm unable to count the occurences of numbers once I apply a filter.
I know how to use Countif & Subtotal etc, but I don't know how to count occurences of numbers and see the results relating only to those visible numbers after applying the filter.
For example, say I have the following numbers in a column...
2, 0, 6, 1, 0, 3, 2, 4, 1, 5, 1, 0, 4
I then apply a custom filer selecting =4. My answer would be 2 (as there are TWO occurences of the number 4).
I have records entered in sheet 1 named "Data". The "Data " Sheet contains Model wise records with serial nos and having status as either ZERO or ONE. Zero indicated that the particular model is out of stock while One indicates it is in stock.
When I filter the data using Auto Filter for records having Status 1, a list of records are displayed. I want to create a summary report in sheet 2 wherein it displays the no of occurence of a particular Model.
What I have observed is that whenever I filter for Status 1 & within it for Model A, it displays "3 of 12 records found" in the status bar. Is it possible to capture that "3" from that message displayed. Or is there any way to count the occurence ?
If you look at the attached file in Row 41, Column H, the count function is not working properly... it is mis-counting, the numbers that appear. It does not work either in F41 and G41. It seems to be having a problem reading the if function I created. Does anyone know how to correct this, or change the if function formula so it doesn't have these issues.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have attached a sample sheet. Can someone be kind enough to teach me how to count unique numbers of visible cells ( I would be applying filter in the table) in textbox 1; and subtotal of the visible list in textbox 2?
Right now the range to count unique numbers is set to A2:A15, but I want to be able to change that range to other ranges, like B2:b100, etc. I do not know VB.
Is there a simple way to count unhidden rows? I saw Counting number of unhidden rows =SUBTOTAL(103,D11:D7180) and, frankly, I'm wondering if there is a way to do it without a formula. I don't need the count in a cell, per se, just a quick count of the unhidden rows of a worksheet for usage elsewhere.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a list of several ranges defined in vba, and i am trying to find which range a cell containing word is in excel. Im am looking for help for a good way of doing this.
For an example: Say I have 2 ranges defined, the first range corresponds to column A, the second to column B (just an example). The word "Dog" is written in cell B15. I want to find out in vba what range "Dog" is in. I would like some vba code to check and find either if it in a given range (boolean) or a way of checking a list of ranges and returning which it is in. The word will only appear once on the spreadsheet. I have played around with the find command (A=range.find(Pl), then check if A exists) but i havent had any luck (I get an 'Object variable or With block variable not set) I tried searching for a while, but was having trouble finding something related to what i am trying to do.
