Create New Worksheets From Button/link

on a workbook I use.

The workbook (26-11GL.xls) contains a varying number of sheets.
Sheet 1 - Menu
Sheet 2 - DS1
Sheet 3 -DS2
Sheet 4 -DS3
Sheet 5 - DS4
Sheet 6 - Company1
Sheet 7 - Company2
Sheet 8 - Company3
Sheet 9 ....14 Company 4,5 etc
Sheet 15 - CompanyTotals

What I would like to do is when I open the workbook on the Menu page I would like to have some links / buttons that will automatically create a new worksheet called DS5 which has all the formatting, formulas etc from DS4 (or the last complete DS sheet)
If this is possible I would like to be able to add Company worksheets as both DS sheets and company sheets can have from 3 to 35 sheets in either area.

If possible I would like the new DS sheets to be named with the next valid number.

I have five worksheets among eight total in my workbook that I use as a report. I would like to have a button that copies those five particular worksheets into a new workbook and pastes all numbers as un-linked values. This would save me a TREMENDOUS amount of time generating my reports every month.

Formula That Uses Link In A Cell To Create Offset Link

I have two worksheets, one with detail monthly information and one with YTD information. So let's say the three numbers I want to capture in the YTD sheet are in columns B, G and I on the monthly sheet. January's data might be in B5, G5 and I5. February's data is in B12, G12 and I12 and so on.

On the YTD sheet in cell C2 I link to Monthly!B5 and in C3 I link to Monthly!B12 so cells C2 to C13 on the YTD sheet show the monthly totals from column B on the detail sheet. On the YTD sheet, cells C20 to C31 show the monthly totals from column G on the monthly sheet, so cells G5, G12, etc. And finally, cells C40 to C51 on the YTD sheet show monthly totals form column I on the monthly sheet.

In the past I've always created all these links manually. After creating the links in C2 to C13 on the YTD sheet, is there a way to use a formula in C21 that uses the link in C2 to create a link for G5?

Excel 2010 :: Create Macro Button To Clear Multiple Cells On Multiple Worksheets?

I have attached a test workbook excel 2010 (ignore ref# errors, I've cut the workbook down for uploading purposes) What I would like to do is have a 'Button' on my 'information Sheet' which when clicked would clear certain cells. I have searched the forum but can't find a solution, everyone seems to want to delete rows or columns but I just want to clear certain cells. The workbook will have 11 sheets each named 'caravan 1' through to 'caravan 11' The uploaded test workbook only only has 3 sheets.

On 'caravan 1' (which is slightly different to the other 10) I want to clear the content of cells

B4 & B5
C4, C22 & C41
D4 & D5
E4,E5, E22,E23,E41 &E 42

On all other 'Caravan sheets' I want to clear the contents of cells

D4 & D5
E4, E5, E22, E23, E41 & E42

It would be icing on the cake if it could give a warning such as " are you sure you want to clear these cells" but that isn't really necessary. The worksheets will be password protected, but the cells mentioned above will not be. If it proves too difficult to clear all the cells on all the sheets with one click, then perhaps a simpler solution might be to have a button on each sheet instead

Can You Have Text Link That Acts Like Command Button

I want to be able to have a link that uses cell data as the passed function parameter!

I want to do this so I can simply copy the formula down for new rows and not have to create a command button for each row?

Maybe there is an entirely much easier way to do what I want?

FOR EXAMPLE, the 1st column would be a link to an entry form passing the 2nd column which would be an ID field.

I'm trying to set up a direct link to the internal excel calculator, using a button in VBA. I have the shortcut on my own toolbar, but I have many users that use the workbook, and to get them all to set up is almost impossible, so I am trying to make it simple for them.

I've tried doing it through a hyperlink direct to the calc.exe file, but get a lot of messages popping up (that'll scare a few of them). So thought I would try and find the excel name for it and use VBA, but I cannot find it anywhere.

Link Spin Button To Active Cell

I've got a problem with the used spinbuttons. The code I used (see below)allows the user to choose a column (with the option button(A,B,C,D,E) in which changes would be made and than changes the value of the given cell according to the name of the spinbutton (which specifies the row). This forces me to use about 80 spinbuttons in a single sheet, and the whole workbook comprises of over 30 sheets pumping the whole file to a size of over 3 MB. To reduce the file size I need a code that would link a master spinbutton (one per sheet) to any active cell (the "just clicked one")

I am trying to create a sheet with 'buttons' on, a bit like a 'linked table of contents', that will take the user to individual sheets (as opposed to clicking on the sheet tabs). I can see how to place Command buttons on a sheet (in this case Sheet1), but I think I need help with the code to make the buttons function as I envisage. Is this in the scope of help via this forum?

Hyperlinks Link To Other Worksheets

I have managed to find some code which, upon pressing a command button on the 1st worksheet in my workbook it:

1. populates a list of the names of all the other sheets in the document
2. converts each name into a hyperlink that when clicked, opens the sheet. (or at least it should)
3. Add the word 'menu' in cell A1 of each sheet that is a hyperlink back to the menu sheet

There are around 40 sheets in the document so you can see why this is easier than scrolling along the bottom to find the correct one. Or it should be.!

I would like to link a sheet to another sheet in the same workbook. The link would indicate what week of information is needed. I would like the source (weekly information )page to go to the top of the page with the requested data. If I use a hyperlink it directs to the source page but this data could be several rows down. How do I create a link and have the source page provide the data at the top of the page?

Create Macro For DDE Link

I am using an excel add-in to create a DDE link between a market data provider and my spreadsheet. ( Add-in is called SigTools.xla )

DDE link works fine and target cells are updated dynamically as market data changes so my excel sheet values are changing constantly.

The formula =WinRos|LAST!GOOG will update target cell with most recent market prtice for Google.

Since this formula is not an excel formula I can't reference excel cells with formula - ie =WinRos|LAST!Indirect&A3 or anything like this won't work.

I thought a Macro might work to simulate "typing in correct formula" and I created following Macro which I thought would work but unfortunately it does not.

Seems reasonable but I get an error "Application-defined or object-defined error"

Alternatively I could re-type the formula each time but it would be much better to somehow reference a specific symbol in a particular cell via functioning Macro.

I work for an IT company who build their own PC's. And we use a simple Excel 2003 spreadsheet to piece-together and price-up PC's for retail, I've attached an example of the spreadsheet for you to see. It uses basic formulas so we can see at-a-glance things like VAT figures, margin, profit etc. Each PC we sell is contained within one Excel file, and each PC has it's own Workbook tab.

The problem I want to solve is whenever we change a component or price, we have to do each system manually, which gets very repetetive and time consuming. What I'd like to be able to do is change the price of, let's say, the motherboard, and have the price be reflected across each of the PC's using that same motherboard on each seperate tab. This same system would apply when we change a product name, product ID etc.

In Sheet2 I have a list of products with their description in adjacent columns such as prices and other information. Sheet1 is a MasterSheet of some of the products listed in Sheet2. So I would like to write a macro that links the information of the product from Sheet2 to Sheet1 if I type the products name in Sheet1 (MasterSheet). The list of products (Sheet2) is updated in a regular basis, so by linking the info I would just need to update Sheet2 and Sheet1 would update as well.

I have a workbook with multiple worksheets, recording time in and time out of temporary employees. The first worksheet is a summary of each weekly timesheet. I would like to make it so the names only have to be typed once and will fill in on the subsequent sheets. I linked the cells, but since the employees may not work every week--we do not know in advance whether they should be included on the time summary at the beginning of the month.

Time Summary Worksheet

The problem comes when I try to add a row for a new employee. If I add it to the Time Summary worksheet all the data in the Weekly timesheet worksheets is thrown off.

I have two files,

1. Form Templete & 2. Student Data Index. (Both files will be placed in same folder)

About Form Templete : This is a simple form, containing some fields. Fields which i require are Form No., Student's name & Standard.

About Student Data Index : This file is to maintain records.
Each time when I fill form for a new student i will copy paste the form templete file & rename it by form no. (Entered in the Form Templete file, Form No. field)

My question is : Is it possible that whenever i create a new file in the same folder with student's name the required fields in the Student data Index get filled automatically, apart from that the new file created get hyperlinked & when i click on form no. the form for that student gets open?

I would like to write a macro that links cells in one workbook (working) to cells in another workbook (summary).

I don't want this to be a straight swap thought, I'd like it to contain the following formula:

=IF(Working!G8="a","a","")

The cells in the working workbook are listed vertically, while the cells in the summary workbook are listed horizontally.

ie. link G8-G18 in working to B3-K3 in summary
link H8-H18 in working to B4-K4 in summary
...etc
