Delete Rows From Filtered List?

View 2 RepliesI have pulled a SharePoint list into my workbook. The list object (table) is still linked to the SharePoint list, as I'd like to synchronize it later on. I have filtered it with an autofilter. I'd like to delete all of the visible rows. I have tried a billion things to no avail. I have been searching Google for hours now. None of the examples work.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have recorded a macro which deletes the visible rows after an auto filter is run - ( auto filter is for custom and blanks).
I thought this was working, but when i look at the code, it looks as if the rows to delete have been hard coded in, and not adapting to just delete the filtered ones.
So I have the following code:
'Remove UPC sales below $5000
Range("G38").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=SUMIF(C[-3],RC[-3],C[-2])"
[Code]....
What is required to delete the visible rows post filtering?
ActiveSheet.ListObjects("Table24").Range.AutoFilter Field:=9, Criteria1:= _
"Other"
'insert code to delete visible rows
ActiveSheet.AutoFilter.Range.Offset(4).SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible).Cells(1, 2).Select
ActiveSheet.AutoFilter.Range.Offset(4).SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible).Select
ActiveSheet.AutoFilterMode = False
Selection.Delete Shift:=xlUp 'this is where the error is occuring.
End Sub
I have a large *.tab file with around 450,000 records. I opened the file in excel and then filtered two columns where there are values equal to 0.
I then highlight all the rows and try to delete them, but I receive the following error popup box:
"Microsoft Excel cannot create or use the data range reference because it is too complex."
How can I delete all these filtered = 0 rows without getting this error??
I have a range that has been formatted as a table. Once I've applied a filter, if I try to select all of the rows, and delete the visible rows the option is greyed out.
Is there no way, short of vba, that I can just simply delete the visible rows?
I'm working through a filter macro to delete unecessary rows of data from my dataset.
- I have a Dynamic Range for my dataset called "CanadaData"
- I'm trying to delete rows from the 5th column of my dataset for cells containing "DIRECTSHIP"
The macro filters the range fine, but when if comes to deleting the row, the macro stops.
Sub CanadaWarehouseFilter()
x = Range("E" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row
If Application.WorksheetFunction.CountIf(Range("E22:E" & x), "DIRECTSHIP") > 0 Then
With Range("CanadaData")
[Code] ......
If I have a list in sheet1, of say 300 names, I need some code, that for a table on sheet2, from A1 to F500 will delete the contents of cells in columns B C and D, IF the value for column A in that row is from the list in sheet1
List of names: sheet1, A1 to A300
Table that needs changing: sheet2, A1:F500
cells to be deleted in columns B C D IF value in A corresponds to the list in Sheet1
Each day I am going to have a list of about 300 different ID numbers, which i have already got a macro for creating, that outputs them into a single column on a sheet.
The next challenge Ill face now, is that I'll have a list of maybe 500 ID numbers in another spreadsheet.... I need a way to basically tell excel to keep rows that contain the numbers in 1 column on the list of 500, that correspond with those on the list of 300.
Numbers that are not found on the list of 300 ID numbers, must be deleted, along with the entire row.
I essentially need a macro that runs something like this that i found online, but instead of it just looking for the word "apple" as rows to delete, i would need it to check to see if the number is one of the 300 on my list.... and delete the row if it is not on the list
PHP Code:
Sub Delete_Rows()Dim rng As Range, cell As Range, del As RangeSet rng = Intersect(Range("A1:C20"),
ActiveSheet.UsedRange)For Each cell In rngIf (cell.Value) = "Apple" _ThenIf del Is Nothing ThenSet del = cell
Else: Set del = Union(del, cell)End IfEnd IfNext cellOn Error Resume Nextdel.EntireRow.DeleteEnd Sub
I use a filter to isolate one particular row of data. This unique row of data is data to be updated. There is ever only one record filtered, and that record is dynamic from the database of over 500 rows. Row 1 is the header. The filtered row is displayed under row 1 (physical row 2), but can be any of the row numbers according to the filter results. (ie the filter has extracted record (row) 13, and is displayed on physical row 2 below the headers)
How can I delete this filtered row. I can't simply
rows("2:2").Select
Selection.Delete
as this deletes record (data row) 2, not the 2nd physical row. I need to delete 2nd physical row regardless of the value determined by the filter.
I have a financial dataset which I need to "clean" before manipulating/analysing.
Each row of the data represents a completed transaction and the first step is to delete rows that are done with particular (internal) clients; the client data (the client's name) is in Column D.
Currently, I delete the unwanted data by autofilter and delete (code below), however this means the clients to be deleted are only defined within the code. I would prefer to have a worksheet within the workbook where the user defines the clients by adding or subtracting their name from a list.
I have created a dynamic range for the client list by inserting a Named variable along the lines of "=OFFSET(!$B$3,1,0,COUNTA($B$3:$B$200)-1," which works fine.
However how do I work this list into my code so that it works when new clients are added or deleted?
Current code for deleting unwanted client data:
Sub filterdelete()
Dim LastRow As Long
LastRow = ActiveSheet.UsedRange.Rows.Count
With Range(Range("D1"), Range("D" & LastRow))
[Code] .....
Can't quite figure out how to do this. I'm looking to create a macro that will delete every other row of a filtered set of data. for example, if these are the filtered rows:
row 21
row 22 delete
row 50
row 51 delete
row 58
row 59 delete.
... and so forth down to the bottom of the filter. I cant seem to record the macro using a relative reference with the filtered data.
I have used the snippet of code below many times to delete rows of filtered data. For example, if I want to delete all rows containing "Y" in column F, this code would filter to that criteria, offset it to save the column headings, resize it to avoid deleting the row below the range, then delete the rows. This works beautifully, until I ran into an instance where there were NO "Y"'s in column F. Then it deleted the column headings.
How would I modify the code below to leave the headings in row 1, but delete any other filtered data? (Also, if there's a better way to delete filtered rows but leave headings, I would be interested.)
I am trying to sum a filtered list and when a filter changes I want the sum to change and it isn't right now. I have attached a TEST workbook in which all the data is values but in my situation all of the data is actually read from a workbook from each agent.... not sure if that matters.
If I filter by District (East or West), how would I get the total to change? I am trying to avoid any vba or macro within this workbook.
I'd like to have a dynamic report that ranks my lists based on an autofiltered list. In other words, I'd like to toggle the criteria that qualifies the lists content, and have excel generate "ranks" based on the values returned. Currently the rankings are based on the overall list, includeing the records that are filtered out.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to write a macro that will let me loop through an auto-filtered list (column C in example file) . I want to filter for a criteria (in this case a network), copy the filtered data, paste it onto a new workbook and save it. Although I have been able to record a macro (see below) that can do this, I have to copy and paste this macro over and over again for the other networks. I would like to know if there is a macro that can loop through each criteria in an auto-filter list, copy and save the data into new workbooks for me. I've attached a sample workbook that should be helpful in understanding what I'm trying to do.

I then filter column A to show only three specific names, or four names etc. . .
On Sheet 2, in cell A1, I would like to list the three filtered names from column A on sheet1
e.g. if the three names showing in column A ( Sheet 1) are: john, mary, jane . . . then on sheet 2 cell A1, I would like to see: "john, mary, jane"
I need to apply a dynamic filter to my constantly changing list.

I'm trying to write a macro that goes through every value in a filtered list.
Specifically, I'd like the macro to select the first value in the filter. Perform the operation. Select the second value in the filter. Perform the operation. Select the third value in the filter. Perform the operation. Etc...
I need to perform a lookup on the first row of a filtered list. i.e. If I search for VCP/3301/MP the filter displays all rows containing that part number. The first row after the header row may be say A320. The next time I search for a different code the first row may be at A120. How can I select this first row for my lookup?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a macro I'm working on and am requesting your help.
In my filtered data, I have an empty column. For each cell in that column, I'd like to insert text, based on the results of the filter criteria.
I am using VBA only, modifying a huge .txt file into a .xls file. The ranges are dynamic.
I am successful in my results, aside from this issue.
I would like to paste values from a list into a different list - different tab - that is already filtered. When I try to do so, the values will paste into the hidden cells - being filtered -.
Find attached an easy example of my problem. The list I am talking about is around 1,000 lines.
Pasting Example.xlsx
To explain my example, I filter sheet 1 so only item I need are showing - B, D and F in this case - and I would like to paste the value of Alarm 3 from the Sheet 2 to the corresponding line in sheet 1. But it does not really work - line F is not filled - and when I un-filter values are filled into Item C and D.
I would like to know how to create a validation based on a list, but with filtered. I have an employee sheet and another sheet to select the names but only according to a specific job.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am working on a sheet to check different outlets turnover, margin etc. on a certain product group or department in a certain week.
There are about 50 outlets of which the information comes to me in a raw data file with around 40.000 rows of weekly data. Each week gives qty, turnover, margin.
What I do now is to filter the raw sheet to the product group that I want the info from and then loop through the filtered rows.
I have extracted a report from a web package into Excel - basically a list of documents held on our website. The Cells in Column B would have the word Title or Description, Column C would have the actual title of the document, Column D would be blank on rows with Title in Column B and Column E has a Document ID (DocID)Number. To make this easier to read is it possible to filter Column B using Title and then move the DocID number from Column E to Column D.
I have attached a shortened version of the spreadsheet with the filter applied in Column B already. The real spreadsheet is 1000 lines long and would take quite a while to drag and drop each DocID number from Column E to D. I assume this can only be done with VBA.
I need the VB code to copy just a portion of a filtered list. I have completed the code to sort and filter the list. I'm having a problem determining how to define the region needed. I have searched the forums and found a few helpful threads but nothing specific. Most show selecting all the columns of the filtered list.
My list is in columns A:AA and begins in row 4 (header row). In my test data, there are 5,900+ records and filtered list is approximately 4,900 records. Since I have sorted the data, the portion of the filtered data I need will always begin in cell D5, be columns D:K, and be the visible rows.
I need to identify values which are less than 0 and move those cells to an adjacent cell.
Acct Desc Amt
2100 Acct1 -10
2101 Acct2 10
The -10 cell will move one cell to the right. I have an imported list with gl accounts, descriptions and amounts and want to have the negative values moved to a new column.
