Edit Values On Listbox

Sep 17, 2009

I've been searching on the internet for a solution to this (if it exists). I have a Userform and I want to include a listbox(or list view or anything like it) which allows the user to select a specific row by clicking a checkbox, and then the next columns will be activated to select numbers in several comboboxes. My goal is simply to add checkboxes and comboboxes to the list view.

I just want to know if this is possible in any way and how would I proceed in order to achieve it.

Edit Data Populated In Userform ListBox

Jan 4, 2012

Any way to edit data that has been populated in a Userform Listbox? I am trying to create a userform which has a multicolumn (3 columns) listbox and data being populated from Sheet1!A:C. I am thinking that there would be an Edit button where when clicked the data for the row that is selected in the listbox is shown in 3 textboxes (one for each cell on the respective row) on the same form which can be edited. When the user clicks Save. The Listbox would be updated with new values (e.g. write over the values in Sheet1.

Open, Edit, Save Macro - Various Files

i've got the code below, and if you notice the directory and file line, I want a loop that'll do what the macro below does, but also for files j1k2-j1k200. I'm hoping there's a macro that'll be able to do this, as I don't want to have to copy, paste and edit the same macro below 200 times!

Application. ScreenUpdating = False ' turn off the screen updating
Set wb = Workbooks.Open("C:Uni StuffStocks_J20j1ka.xls", False, False)
Sheets("Sheet1").Select
Range("B6:S6").Select
Selection.Replace What:="]w1", Replacement:="]w2", LookAt:=xlPart, _
SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False, _
ReplaceFormat:=False
wb.Close True ' close the source workbook saving any changes
Set wb = Nothing ' free memory
Application.ScreenUpdating = True ' turn on the screen updating

Create / Edit And Save Workbook From List Of Data?

Dec 21, 2012

I have a workbook which contains a list of data on the first worksheet. I need for a macro to copy the name in each row,along with its data in that row and paste it into the corresponding locations on a template located on another worksheet. It would then save the file using the date (col. a) , then the words " Scorecard for" and then the name (col. b), then loop for each row until it reaches the end of the list.

I located this code here here.However I dont know how to modify it to fit my needs. I dont have 2 separate categories for two score cards in column b. It would all run off one scorecard and each row of data.

Save Listbox Selection And Repopulate Selections When Opening Workbook?

Apr 15, 2014

I have a workbook that has 2 worksheets (Sheet1 and Sheet2). Each sheet has 2 checkboxes and a listbox that has 6 columns. Everything works great until I save and close the workbook. When I reopen, all the selections for the listboxes are gone, however the checkboxes are checked as expected. Why aren't the listbox selections being saved? How do I get them to save? I found something similar in a previous post but it referred to a userform which I am not using.

Excel 2003 :: Unable To Allow Users To Make Changes To Workbook But Only Be Able To Do Save As Not Save

Dec 3, 2012

I have an expense report, which was originally done in Excel 2003. It still prompts users to open as read only however if they select no, they are not prompted for the password, and it has allowed them to save, so when the next person opens it, they have the previous person's report instead of the clean workbook. I have tried everything to put a password onto it. I know this is really basic stuff, but maybe I am missing a step? I want the end user to be able to make all the changes they want in read only mode and then do a save as, but if the select No when prompted "Open as Read-only?" they should have to put a password in.

Excel Save As Should Default File Save Type To XLSX Using VBA

Aug 21, 2012

What I am trying to do is that I have an excel file with macros and it is a read-only file. In order for the user to save, I want them to only be able to save as a .xlsx file as it disables all macros. If for whatever reason, the user wants to save the file as another .xlsm file, they should be allowed but before they save, a "are you sure you want to save as .xlsm?" message should pop up.

All the options in the save as box should still be available in case they want to save in that particular format. Just that the .xlsx should be the default.

Search And Edit Excel Data In Userform?

Mar 2, 2013

I work in a small team of 5 people, but each of us is very busy and get emails from our manager asking us to complete different tasks. I have made a userform in excel for our manager to create the tasks in and put all the details in sheet1. This creates each separate task on a separate row. Now I want each of my colleagues to log into the sheet and be able to retrieve a task with the same userform. I am giving each task it's own ID, so I want to be able to search by this and the userform will be populated with the task details. I also have combobox's with the status of each task (Completed, In progress etc.) I want to be able to change these in the userform too.

VB:
Private Sub UserForm_Click()
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()

Set LastRow = Sheet1.Range("b65536").End(xlUp)

Use Data Entry / Search / Edit For Spreadsheet On Excel

Aug 9, 2012

I have created an example of a "Waiting List" for the college, everything I had done seemed to be working before I left for my holiday (apart from the search facility as I was still doing some problem solving, compiling and coding for it).

The Idea is to : Open Excel Document and be greeted by the "Hello" Userform

[Problem #1: This does not automatically show since I have returned from holiday, though there seemed to be no problem with it prior my escape.]Choose from three options;"Save and Exit" saves any changes on/in the database and closes the document"Insert Data" opens "Userform1" to allow users to enter a new row under the exsisting rows of data.

[Problem #2: The data in the sheet was all entered using this feature, but yet again since I have returned from holiday it keeps adding the data only on row 2]

[Problem #3: How to do Auto Formatting i.e. Postcode in Capital Letters]"Search" will open the "Search" userform which I hope to allow users to choose up to three column headings and enter the value to search that column with the parallel textbox value.

[Problem #4: The data which meets the criteria the most is listed into the listbox, if you select a piece of data (double click or "selected") it opens a new userformThe "Edit/Enrol" Userform allows user to Edit, Enrol or archive the row of data.the last Userform I created "Course" is for an admin of the workbook to choose a course and it be auto populated by the information in the worksheet "Code" and create a Mail Merge.

Excel Macro To Lookup Edit Data In Online Database

May 18, 2012

I'm working on an Excel based product. As part of the security process I would like to require the user to enter a product id key into excel. Then the spreadsheet would compare the entered value to some kind of online database to verify the id key is valid. Finally, the spreadsheet would update the online database so that the id key is no longer functional. How easy is this to do?

I know verifying that the id key is valid is fairly simple.

Here is my biggest issue: How to get Excel to update the database and of course what form would this database take. Maybe its a table on a webpage, or google docs. Again the issue is how would I be able to update the table.

Edit Excel Formula Links To Use Environment Variables Instead Of Static Absolute Paths

Sep 30, 2013

Is there a way that formula links in spreadsheets can use environment variables to reference formulas in other spreadsheets/addins?

For example, I have a spreadsheet that imports templates which call functions in an addin. The spreadsheet, templates and the addin could be installed into either the 'Program Files' or the 'Program Files (x86)' folders.

I am experiencing issues with the formula references when moved between 32 and 64 bit computers since Excel seems to store the full path of the addin in the Excel formula (even though it hides it when the reference resolves its path) in my templates. I would like to update the references in my templates so that they use an environment variable (set by my software installer) to always know the correct path of the addin.

In Excel 2003, spreadsheet links are edited via: 'Edit'->'Links'
In Excel 2007 and higher,'Data'->'Edit Links'

Excel 2010 :: Unable To Select ListBox Items

Feb 11, 2014

I have a worksheet with a few "Multi-Select" type listboxes in it. I cannot seem to select the items within those listboxes... the mouse icon doesn't even change, it just shows that little plus-sign that is the default when you're just in your worksheet. (they're also ActiveX listboxes)

I can select them if I go into my Developer tab and select and deselect the "Design Mode" button. then everything works fine (mostly). Or if I resize the subwindow for the workbook. Then it (again, mostly) works fine.

It's like I have to trick Excel into allowing me to click on the checkboxes in my ListBox.

Some people I've given the file to use Excel 2007 and the file works for them. (I have Excel 2010)

I've looked up info on bound/unbound forms, but I can't tell if it applies, or how to use that. They were not created with a VBA macro, they were made using the buttons in the developer tab.

One final thing : Below the listboxes, I have some shapes that, when pressed, will take the selected items from their respective checkboxes and put them into some cells.

Here is the file: Setup form_Blank.xlsm
