I have 3 columns, A B C: Distribution Center, Sales, and Top Ranked. What I am trying to get is a Rank function in the Top Ranked column that looks for the highest value in the Sales column, but returns the Distribution Center associated with this Sales value instead of the actual value. I could get this done with some helper columns and a VLOOKUP, but the report is rather large and the VLOOKUP not only slows it down but also pushes the file size over the limit. Also, I will be using this for metrics other than Sales where I'll be looking for the highest and lowest figures, so if a Max or Min function works better, that would be fine. I just haven't been able to figure out how to have it return the associated data instead of the ranked data.
Tab 1 lists all participants and race times. Tab 2 generates a printout to post on a wall.
The spreadsheet works great, BUT, I forgot I needed to add a condition of DNS (Did not start) and DNF (Did not finish).
Once this is added, of course, it breaks everything done so far (damage being done in column M on tab 1 and all of tab 2).
My ideal state is that a DNS or DNF can appear in column L on Tab 1. . . and these participants fall to the bottom of the list generated on Tab 2.
I know there are miracle workers out there who can make this happen! Again, hoping for no code, and no manual manipulation if possible (end user is not Excel savvy). Must be compatible with Excel 97-2003.
I have a table in A2:F200 and want to sum the entries in column C for those rows containing both an F in column E and an L in column F. I thought this would be easy but I cannot figure it out.
How many tickets are created and fixed by a user for a certain period. See below. I've tried countif but it doesn't seem to be working for many criteria.
I have a couple of issues and if its okay will post two threads to make it easier to follow due to my basic skills in Excel.
I have a workbook with 5 sheets. The first sheet is a stat sheet which picks up data from four other spreadsheets. I want to work out the average working days taken to complete a case but this data is across multiple sheets.
So for example Column E in each sheet tells you what type of case it is i.e. investigation. Then column T tells you number of workings day it took to complete the case. To work this out I have used the following formula:
I know its very basic but its the only way I know how to work out an average in Excel 2003. I need to add a second criteria where on every sheet it looks in column G for date the case was allocated. As I'm only looking to report in the current report year I want it to look for cases where the value in column G is =>01/04/14 but =<31/03/14.
In column Y, I have a list of employee numbers (there are a random number of blank spaces in between each number)
In column AE, I have a list of clock in times (there are a random number of blank spaces in between each clock in time)
In column AY, I have a list of the same numbers from column Y (there are no blanks in this list)
Column BB. I am looking for a formula to place in cell BB2 and copy/paste down that will match the number in column Y and return the first non blank cell from that point in column AE.
Example:
10062 is employee number in cell AY2. Her employee number (10062) is also located in cell Y5. Her clock in time is located in cell AE7.
10099 is employee number in cell AY3. Her employee number (10099) is also located in cell Y14. Her clock in time is located in cell AE16.
What formula can I place in BB2 so that it returns the clock in time of employee 10062. Then copy and paste so that BB3 returns the clock in time of employee 10099?
I posted an earlier question about using a countif formula with two sets of criteria, Below is the formula I was given but for the life of me I can not get it to calculate. I have created a drop down box for each agent at my work and a drop down box for pass and fail. I want to keep a running total if they pass or fail on an assigment. I have labeled my worksheet phone.
Having a hard time putting this one together..Trying to do: Create a formula that counts how many cells in Column L, that fall within a date range and also have a specific category of "text" (Column E). What I've tried:=COUNTIF($L$4:$L$166,"
I'm using Excel 2003 and I need to calculate the number of occurrences on according to different criteria in two separate colums.
I am on Sheet 3 and the data I am analyzing is on Sheet 1, titled "RATES". I wish to know how many occurrences are when the word "GB" appears on column B (cells B2 to B100) along with a value greater than zero on column M (cells M2 to M100). The word "GB" does not appear alone but is part of a string of text with different words, I think this is relevant.
I am setting up a template to use to track candidates throughout their lifecycle. I am also creating a 'summary report' on another worksheet that counts total number of candidates, counts the number of candidates that have been submitted to the client, count of the number of candidates that have been interviewed by the client, etc.
How do I count the number of candidates in the spreadsheet?
In Cells A6:B5, I have "Submitted" In Cells A7-?? I have dates for those candidates that have been submitted. Then a new section titled, "In Process" A list of candidates are contained within that section. Then a new section titled, "For Review" etc.
There are multiple sections, so the date in Column A1 may not always be in a constant row, as it depends on how many candidates are within a certain 'phase'.
I have a column I5, titled "Status" This column has a built in drop-down list that contains pre-defined status, for example, "Submitted", "Candidate Declined", "2nd Message Sent", etc. I need to be able to create a summary report based on a count of candidates that fit certain 'Statuses'. For example, count the number of candidates that were Interviewed. This could be a combination of Statuses: Phone screen with client, 1st F2F, 2nd F2F, etc.
(At home, I am using Excel 2003. At work, I am using Excel 2007. So if it's easier to create in Excel 2007, that's fine.)
I am looking for a way of creating the following conditioned concatenation.
I have two tables, let's call them "summary" and "detailed".
The "detailed" table is something like the following:
ID VOL
001 01
001 05
[code]....
The "summary" table below gets info from the "detailed" table. The 'ID'is now unique. I'm looking for a formula on the 'VOL (concatenated)' column cells it should get all rows from the "detailed" table with the same ID and then concatenate the 'VOL' column results, comma separated:
ID (unique) VOL (concatenated)
001 V01, V03, V05
002 V01, V04
003 V06
PS: I have people using this table with office 2003, so compatibility is necessary...
I am using Excel 2010 64-bit (with SP2 and all other updates installed).
I have a worksheet where some cells have a yellow background, based on conditional formatting of what is in column A. (Note that data in column A changes, so the row can sometimes be yellow and sometimes be white.)
I need to sort this worksheet as follows:
1. By background color, so yellow is on top, white is on bottom. 2. Then, within the yellow rows, data in column J. 3. Then, within the white rows, data in column A.
Currently, I do this manually by sorting the entire worksheet by column A, then selecting only those rows that are yellow and sorting by column J.
Is there a way to combine these steps, perhaps with a macro?
I initially thought to make each "background color" its own table, but since column A can change and thus the background color of a row can change, I need to be able to have rows move from yellow section to white section. I don't think having two separate tables allows that.
When I publishing from Excel document to PDF it produces differently sized pages as shown in attached. Is there a way I can achieve a same size page view without having to change the font size and page layout of the source Excel document?
Scenario: Two computers running Windows 7 (64-bit Professional) with Excel 2007, same processor, same hard drive, same memory, same everything except the monitors - see below
Computer 1: HP LA2006x monitor (20" viewable diagonal) @ 1600x900 resolution, 91.79 PPI Computer 2: HP LA2206x monitor (21.5" viewable diagonal) @ 1920x1080 resolution, 102.46 PPI
We have an Excel spreadsheet that the column widths on columns A through K must equal exactly 6, 1, 6, 1, 8, 1, 13, 2, 8, 1, and 35 respectively in order for the data to be imported into another program. These exact column widths are set on Computer 1 and the .xslx file is saved to a network location.
Computer 2 opens the .xslx file from the exact same network location. The column widths display as 5.86, 0.92, 5.86, 0.92, 12.84; not the exact columns listed above. So if anyone needs to export the data from Computer 2, they have to manually adjust the column widths or run a macro to auto adjust the column widths.
My question, is there anything I can do on Computer 1 or Computer 2 to make it so the column widths are saved and open correctly no matter which one is saving and which one is opening? The 20" monitor on computer 1 cannot display the 1920x1080 resolution... already tried that.
I have saved this on a 2010 workbook as I am at home but this will be used on a 2003 workbook.
I have several projects on one spreadsheet which multiple users will be working and I am trying to create a summary sheet of the work carried out.
Each user is expected to carry out a task on each row of the data held in each worksheet (research, call, update etc) and each task (Option 1-5) is assigned a value. Each user is expected to meet a certain level of points per day to calculate productivity.
I am looking for a sumproduct along the lines of the summary sheet attached but mine just takes one sheet into consideration and I need one for all sheets.
I have a list of names that come from another sheet. I need to rank these by score and have used this formula:
[Code] ........
These names compete within their class but also within the class I need to consider (rank) a second category for example No or Yes. Also all names could be competing in the Yes category or for example 7 in the Yes and 3 in the NO. This will vary and is based on entry in another sheet.
The format is Class (column B), category (Yes or NO, Column C), Name (Column D), Score (Column S) and Rank (Column T)
If I include an IF statement =IF(S33="Yes", at the beginning of the above formula then I get all the Yes ranked perfectly. Is it possible to rank the others with the NO consideration?
I will have 200+ records similar to the above. I would like a formula that ranks the totals. The Males in the 6-7 Age Group would be in 1 Ranking while the Females in the 6-7 Age Group would be in another.
I prefer a formula over a macro. My original thought was =rank(n2,offset(?,?,?,?,?),1) but alas I'm missing something.
I want to calculate the sales rank of the customer whose CUSTOMERID is equal to my ID? Note that sales rank is what position the salesperson is in terms of DOLLAR VALUE OF SALES.
Just a bit stuck on this. How do I calculate the rank? Is it a If statement or a Vlookup Question?
The spreadsheet can be found here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5D0YCHIG (It's too big to be uploaded to the forum hosting).
I have a large spreadsheet where I've successfully ranked a large series of data based on revenue, using product classification as a criteria & summarising this on another page with the top 20 products. The problem I'm having is that within certain criteria's I have some products with the exact same revenue figure, so if the 2nd ranked product within classification "C" for example has revenue of $100, & there's another product within the same classification also with $100 of revenue, on my top 20 report I have results for the 1st & 2nd ranked product, but a blank for the third product & then results again for the fourth
I need to have excel dynamically rank items based on two criteria’s (category and sales).
For Example: I have a list of items with its category in column A, column B has the sales information. I need to rank the items by category and sales, the data is not sorted and I cannot use a macros/VB.
Need to rank by score1 in descending order and Serial # in ascending order. My biggest problem is to get the rank number to be consecutive. I have listed the rank I would like to see.
I'm racking my brains as to how I can structure a formula to conditionally rank a value in an array against only those values in the array whose corresponding criteria cell includes a specific letter.
So for example I have a list of 12 values, say 126; 239; 0; 171; 162; 157; 130; 199; 122; 153; 0; 15. Each of those values corresponds to a heading, say: CDE; DFE; FGE; DFE; ERD; DEA; BDF; DFB; CDE; CEF; CAB; FAB. As you will note some of the headings may or may not be the same and may or may not include the same letters in different orders.
How can I write a formula that ranks in ascending order a given value drawn from the above list (which will be in another cell but which in this case is, let's say, the first value: 126) only against those values whose heading includes a specific character, for example the character C (the character in question will vary and be defined in a specific cell).
As an added complication I need the ranking calculation to exclude any zero values. So in the above example what the formula needs to do is rank the value 126 against a sub-set of the whole array comprising only the values 126; 122; 153; 0.
The answer I need is 2 because, discounting the zero value, 126 is the second highest value.
This is a simplification of what I really need. But say I have 5 people, and I have 5 gifts (A-E) Each person is in order by who gets first choice, second, etc. And each person has indicated from 1 - 5 which gift they like best. 1=most favorite 5=least favorite
I'm trying to create formulas to show who gets what. My actual spreadsheet has more people/items but is virtually the same thing.
In the attached example, the first person, Bill, gets first choice, then Mary, then Karl etc. Bill would get Gift C. Mary would get gift A Karl would get Gift D because gift C and A are already taken.
The spreadsheet itself could be done differently if there's a easier/better way to get the data.
This is a spreadsheet I'm using for my fantasy basketball draft that by adding information into table C3:N15 will populate stats into team sheets and output average stats into table D20:L31 and then create a rotisserie style scoring table outputted into B36:M47.
What I want to do (and have tried to do in table B51:M62) is output this to create a sorted ranked by Approx Score without using macros or VBA. I also want to do this using Excel 2003 rather than 07 (I'd love to take advantage of the AVERAGEIF function but i figure compatibility is my first concern).
The issue I have run into is that tie scores are going to make it difficult, and utilizing a table w/ summed ranked will lend itself to that happening...a lot. How can I solve this?
1) List of 500 employees, each allocated an account number where the payroll should be applied, in cells N1 through to N500.
2) Account numbers contain many uniques, ie employees within same department / function
3) require a list of unique account numbers, ranked in ascending order with the budget value, in rows O510 through to Oxxx (depending on how many unique account numbers exist)
4) this happens for 4 companies over 20 spreadsheet tabs for each company for each type of employment cost (each tab has different account numbers)
I know I can do this by manually copying the account numbers to another tab, sort them, remove uniques and then copy the result back o the summary area, for sumif formula, but was hoping for something a little more 'automatic', as these spreadsheets will be provided to payroll staff in each company for completion.
Excel 2007 holds data of mine in a "format as table" Table. I want to rank the values in one column. Normally I want to do that by ranking the value in the current row against all the remaining values in that column. That is easy.
I got stuck today when I wanted to rank the value of the field in the current row with only a subset of the values in the column. I want to rank the current against the half-dozen or so records that have "A" in an adjacent column, and rank values having "B" in that other column against only the other values a "B" and so forth.
It would be best for all this to be done in formulas in the table rather than a clever use of a pivot or other? But really, I may be open to different approach than I was trying for if I can use successfully!
