Calculate Next Due Date Based On Start Date Frequency And Current Date?
Mar 9, 2014I'm trying to workout how to take a known initial date a repeating frequency and work out the next due date from today.
Example
Initial Date :- 1st of January 2014
Frequency :- every 5 weeks
Current Date :- 9th of March 2014
Next Due date should be :-12th of March 2014 (if I worked it out correctly from my paper calendar)
I want to use a cell formula to do this for different initial dates and varying frequency periods (the frequency will always be whole weeks i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8,10)

Mar 13, 2014I have a small project at work where I am being asked to put a simple spread sheet that will calculate a start/stop time - and also include the date. For example:
Start time 5pm, date: 3/13. The spread sheet to auto calculate what the stop time and date will be if a specific amount of hours is to be calculated. For example in this case, 12 hours. From calculating in my head that would be 5am the following day. However, how can I get this in excel to work and therefore all i would have to do is enter the start time and date, + 12 hrs, and excel would calculate the time/date after the additional 12 hrs.

May 15, 2009I am working on a sheet that will allow a user to enter a start month (from a pre-defigned drop down list) and an end month (again from ddl). What I need to calculate is in what months the employee worked in so I can calculate their salary cost by quarter.
It can populate other cells in order to do the calculation if needed. So, for example if an employee started in May, and worked until December, I need to calculate that he worked 2 months in Q1, 3 months in Q2, 3 months in Q3, and 0 months in Q4. Our fiscal year is April to March.. ;-) I have thought of several options, but none of them have worked 100%.

But if a worker starts say 15 Apr 08 he would be entitled to less than 21 days. I have a bill which is paid on the 15th and last business day of each month. I would like to be able to see the next due date regardless of what day of the week it is.
I have a bill which is paid every other Tuesday. I would like to know the next due date without having to enter +14 for every due date in the future. In other words, it is preferable to be able to open the spreadsheet and automatically see the next due date, not use autofill to repeatedly add +14 to a previous date which would limit the # of future due dates that could be calculated.
I have a bill which is paid on the last business day of each month, not the last Friday of each month. I would need excel to return a value for the last day of the month which = Monday-Friday, regardless of what day of the week it may be as long as it isn't Saturday or Sunday(holiday exclusion would be nice but not required).

Nov 22, 2013I want to calculate the end date of my German courses. This is how it works:
A course consists of 60 LU*. The course can occur i. e. three times a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. In each day the course lasts 2 LU, which means 6 LU each week. There is no course on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and on holidays. Therefore this type of course that begins on 18-Nov-2013 will end on 03-Feb-2014.
Another course which occurs Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and respectively has 2 LU on Tuesday, 2 LU on Thursday and 3 LU on Saturday and starts on 03-Dec-2013 will end on 06-Feb-2014.
Therefore I want to create a worksheet where I set the start date, choose the days and respectively the LU amount on those days. The end date shall be calculated according to these criteria.
The workday function on excel cannot do this and I do not have any programming skills to work with VBA.

Jan 21, 2014I have a table where I assigned Months (Jan-Dec), Current Month YTD (e.g. Nov YTD) and Dec YTD in the column field. Company Name and Year in rows.
For a particular company for example, Co.AAA. The Start Date is Oct 1, 2009 and the contract will end on Sep 30, 2014.
If my current reporting month is Nov 2013, From the table, I need to get the sum up the data that correspond from this dates inclusive in start and end date of Co.AAA.

Col A = Yearly Cost
Col B = The number of the month when the costs are starting (1=Jan etc)
Col C = The duration or the number of months for which the costs are to spread
Col D is Year 2013 with the months across columns D-O. Row 1 above those columns shows the month's corresponding number.
Right now I have =IF($B3<=D$1,$A3/$C3,0) however if my start month is 1 and my duration is 5, I need the costs to stop after May. I've attached a sample file. Calculate based on start month and duration.xlsx

Jul 23, 2014I have an Excel workbook with two sheets "DataSheet" and "Actual Peaks", "DataSheet" contains a column with dates and a column with values. "Actual Peaks" has a bunch of dates listed in a column. For each date in 'Actual Peaks', another column goes back to the "DataSheet" finds the date, then starts adding values until a specified sum is reached, once the sum is reached, it returns the date at which the sum was reached. However, I have found that sometimes it is off by a day or two.

I actually wanted to get a future date using a Dynamic two day off as my the offs keep on changing as well as incorporate Holidays and Leaves if any..
Now Holidays would be official Public Holidays and
Leaves would be taken by the employee..
The code needs to pick the Leaves + Holidays and different offs maybe even more than 2 offs...

Aug 15, 2007I am creating a proforma income statement for a business plan and need the cell values to calculate (or not) depending on the startup date that is entered on another sheet.
The following formula works if the value of Startup!$C64 is "March", but if it's "February" it returns 0.
=IF(AND(Startup!$C64<="March",Startup!$D64=2008),Assumptions!$S17*P$3,0)
What I'm trying to do is have the cell on the income statement only perform the calculation if the startup date is earlier or the same as the month referenced in the formula.
Perhaps I can't use the "<" with text?
How To Auto-Populate Date Range (working Days Only) From Start Date And End Date
May 25, 2014I am now trying to create a excel macro to auto populate all the dates with reference to a start date and end date. The catch is that only working days are required in the range. My reference cells (start and end date) are in Sheet 1 while the destination cell range are in Sheet 2. The reason for creating a macro instead of a function is that the intervals between the start date and end date changes frequently (annual, semi-annual and quarterly) Best case scenario would be a button which I can just press after i input the dates to generate the range of dates in another sheet.

I would like H18 to read 14
and H19 to read 13.5 and so on,
H23 and H24 are full 24 hour coverage,
but i get a 0, when using 08:00 - 08:00
as we only deal with a full or half hours, the figures should read whole numbers or half number as in th example above.
Also would like to total all hours worked in H28 to 117 as opposed to the figure given in the attached file.

Aug 9, 2007I have a column that is a percentage(p%) which measures the fullness of the location(loc) that the item(ite) is in, which also has a corresponding location(loc) and item column(ite).
What I need to do is add as many items(ite) to one location(loc) as possible without exceeding 100%(p%), however if the value exceeds 100%(p%) then we need to start all over in a new location. The end result would be an unknown amount of unused locations.
If p% < 100 then add the next row's p% value, else start over with a new location. I am trying to add as many items to one location as possible, and once a location fills up, we will use the next one.

Feb 16, 2010I have been asked to make some ammendements to a workbook currently in use.
I have to calculate elapsed time, and my formula is giving me odd results. I have a start time (cell B5), and an end time (cell F5). The formula being used was =IF(F5>0,((F5-B5)*24)) which gave the correct result. The cell is formatted as general. It didn't alot for the situation where the end time has not happened yet.
I changed the formula to =IF(F5>0,((F5-B5)*24),(K5-B5)*24) where cell K5 is the current time. The results are coming out with 6 - 9 decimal places. It makes no sense as I've tried setting the times to be exactly 24 or 48 hours to the minute. I've also tried replacing K5 in the formula to now(),

I need a formula the will calculate the previous months month end date in cell A6 and the month end prior to the date calculated in A6 in cell A13.
where the dates start with 31 for eg 31/01/2008 , then my formula works, but if it starts with 30, 29 or 28, then obviously it does not work.

if the month ends on a Tuesday, it will calculate the sales from Sunday to Tuesday only.

So the due date could be Feb 10, we need to know if it was done on time, late, or early. So I've gotten it to display late by doing this: =IF(B2>A2, "Late", (A2-B2)) But then I can't figure out how to incorporate this: =IF(B2=A2, "On Time") or =IF(B2<A2, "Early").
I would like to displaly this all in one cell. So if the due date is Feb 10 and it's turned in Feb 8 it's early, turned in Feb 10 it says on time, turned in Feb 11 it's late. I also tried this but it didn't work: =OR(IF(B2>A2,"Late")*IF(B2=A2,"On Time")*IF(B2<A2,"Early"))
