# Formula That Would Calculate What Workday A Date Would Be

So if the date is 2/19/2007, I want to know that is the 13th workday.

As everyone realizes that WORKDAY function can return a working date that exclude weekends and any dates identified as holidays. However, what if I want to return a working date excluding my designated holidays but including weekends?

For example,

Holidays are 1 Jun 2009, 2 Jun 2009 and 4 Jun 2009

Start Date: ???

Finish Date: 8 Jun 2009

Duration: 5 days

The Start Date should be 30 May 2009.

Seems like I am not able to use WORKDAY function to calculate the start date.

Is there a formula similar to WORKDAY that would include weekends and make something due on the next business day? For example, I have a bill due on 6/1/11 and I need to follow up 5 days later - which would be normally 6/6/11 but the WORKDAY formula makes it 6/8/11 as it is adding 2 extra days.

I am using Excel 2010.

I have a spreadsheet with Received Date/Time in C2 and Resolved Date/Tim in D2, Work Start Time in E2, Work End Time in F2. C2 and D2 are in dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm AM/PM format:04/03/2008 10:27 AM06/03/2008 1:06 PM9:00:00 AM5:00:00 PM

I need to be able to calculate the resolution time of each request in hours/mins excluding weekends and public holidays. I've tried using the NETWORKDAYS function but it doesn't seem to pick up multiple days between the Received and Resolved dates/times. I have put the Public Holidays in my spreadsheet ( attached) in AA2-AG2.

I have a list of clients that have specific requests waiting to be actioned, with a number of columns relating to client details and the status of the request across the top of the sheet. One of the columns (D) is "Last Contact Date", where I enter in the date that I last followed up with the client or made contact regarding their request. In the next column (E), I want the weekday/workday date 1 month after the Last Contact Date.

I can use "=D2+DAY(30)" to give me the date 30 days later, or "=DATE(YEAR(D2),MONTH(D2)+1,DAY(D2))" to get one month later, however what I want is the nearest WORKDAY after this date.

So, if the date is on a weekend, I need the Monday date instead.

If I have a date in cell G6 of 10/7/08, how could I get the workday of 5 in cell H6? I tried the workday function, but have been unsucessful so far.

basically a piece of work / report is due for completion twenty working days from a trigger date. And I need the formula to calculate this due date. Im using the workday function, which calculates a date using the number of working days given after the trigger date.

this would work fine, except that the trigger date needs to be included in the calculation (inclusive). I have tried changing the value for the number of working days to nineteen, which would logically give the right answer (20 days including the trigger day). BUT the bloody thing doesnt work, because the trigger date can be on a weekend or holiday!! so then it calculates 19 days (as it should) but the result is wrong because the trigger day isnt included (as its a holiday/weekend).

I am having an issue, because aparently workday formula does not work in conditional formattings.

I have the two formulas below to use in conditional formattings, but I can't figure out how to re-write them so that Excel will allow me.

I am trying to create a sheet for a project that will identify dates a project will conclude omitting weekends and holidays. I keep getting an error with the formula I have.

In my spreadsheet:

A1 is the start date

B1 is the number of days after the start date.

The formula I am using:

=WORKDAY(A1,NETWORKDAYS(A1,A1+B1),{""4/6/2007","5/28/2007", "7/4/2007","9/3/2007","11/22/2007","12/25/2007","1/1/2008","1/21/2008","3/21/2008","5/26/2008", "7/4/2008","9/1/2008","11/27/2008","12/25/2008"}"}+0)

The error I get is with the parens (A1,A1+B1). - at least the parens are highlighted in purple.

My boss has made it clear I can't require our people to use the add-in.

I have searched under WORKDAY as well as under Barry Houdini, since someone said he has come up with plenty of replacements for the Analysis add-in... but I am not finding it.. can someone help?

Using the add-in, this is what I have:

myCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=WORKDAY(RC[1],-RC[2])"

I'm at my wits end trying to make a workday formula work, but am having no luck. I've searched the other posts, but did not quite find a match. I'm trying to subtract a number of days from a workday function, but it seems to bypass ignoring the weekends (as is supposed to be done automatically with Workday). Here's the formula I'm trying to use:

=WORKDAY(H5,L5,' Reference Info'!$E$110:$E$117)-(I5/8)

I5/8 is a column with hours - this just calculates a number of days to subtract based on the number of scheduled hours.

The formula will calculate, but it still ignores weekends. I've tried burying the I5/8 within the parenthesis, moving it around in the formula,

I am creating a proforma income statement for a business plan and need the cell values to calculate (or not) depending on the startup date that is entered on another sheet.

The following formula works if the value of Startup!$C64 is "March", but if it's "February" it returns 0.

=IF(AND(Startup!$C64<="March",Startup!$D64=2008),Assumptions!$S17*P$3,0)

What I'm trying to do is have the cell on the income statement only perform the calculation if the startup date is earlier or the same as the month referenced in the formula.

Perhaps I can't use the "<" with text?

if I've worked in the company for 9.0384 years, how can I calculate that my start day was 04/20/04?

I have to calculate elapsed time, and my formula is giving me odd results. I have a start time (cell B5), and an end time (cell F5). The formula being used was =IF(F5>0,((F5-B5)*24)) which gave the correct result. The cell is formatted as general. It didn't alot for the situation where the end time has not happened yet.

I changed the formula to =IF(F5>0,((F5-B5)*24),(K5-B5)*24) where cell K5 is the current time. The results are coming out with 6 - 9 decimal places. It makes no sense as I've tried setting the times to be exactly 24 or 48 hours to the minute. I've also tried replacing K5 in the formula to now(),

I have a worksheet where the current months date is entered in cell E1 (format dd/mm/yyyy) , using an input box.

I need a formula the will calculate the previous months month end date in cell A6 and the month end prior to the date calculated in A6 in cell A13.

where the dates start with 31 for eg 31/01/2008 , then my formula works, but if it starts with 30, 29 or 28, then obviously it does not work.

I would like a formula that will calculate these previous month end dates correctly.

See example below ....

I'm trying to make a formula to calculate the difference in a date between two dates. For exaple, in my business we have a due day for something. So the due date could be Feb 10, we need to know if it was done on time, late, or early. So I've gotten it to display late by doing this: =IF(B2>A2, "Late", (A2-B2)) But then I can't figure out how to incorporate this: =IF(B2=A2, "On Time") or =IF(B2<A2, "Early").

I would like to displaly this all in one cell. So if the due date is Feb 10 and it's turned in Feb 8 it's early, turned in Feb 10 it says on time, turned in Feb 11 it's late. I also tried this but it didn't work: =OR(IF(B2>A2,"Late")*IF(B2=A2,"On Time")*IF(B2<A2,"Early"))

i am trying to work with a formula that will look at date today (NOW) and compare this to a due date and in return provide me with only the working hours total. Working hours are 8am to 4pm (8 HOURS).If the due date is passed this will be a negative figure.

I'm trying to workout how to take a known initial date a repeating frequency and work out the next due date from today.

Example

Initial Date :- 1st of January 2014

Frequency :- every 5 weeks

Current Date :- 9th of March 2014

Next Due date should be :-12th of March 2014 (if I worked it out correctly from my paper calendar)

I want to use a cell formula to do this for different initial dates and varying frequency periods (the frequency will always be whole weeks i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8,10)

I needs a formula (not VBA) to calculate the required start date.

I have to do a job of 14 working hours and this job must be finished on 05-may-2014 13:00

My working week is from monday u/i friday and every day I work from 08:00-16:00

At what time do I have to start the job to get it done in time.

The formula should give this result: 01-may-2014 15:00

I need a formula that will calculate the number of days from a date entered into cell A1 to today's date. Whether it's before or after todays date. Example:

5/10/2009 to today is -9

5/22/2009 to today is 3

I have two columns of dates, leave start and end dates (when people start leave i.e. annual leave). Would need to introduce column(s) to calculate how many days fell within the month including the end date and excludes weekends.

For example, if the staff on leave from 31st March to 6 April, i need to show that the number of leave taken as 1 day in March and 4 days in April.

I have a table that looks like this (its basically a historical data of a stock exchange):

Date

Index

January 4, 2010

[Code]....

The List continues till the current Date.

I want to calculate Average Index Values of a Date of each month within a Date Range.

Example: Calculate Average Index Values for 3rd of Each month from 1st Feb 2010 to 3rd Jan 2011. Formula should calculate Average of the Index Values for 3rd Feb 2010, 3rd March 2010, 3rd April 2010, 3rd May 2010, 3rd June 2010, 3rd July 2010, 3rd Aug 2010, 3rd Sept 2010, 3rd Oct 2010, 3rd Nov 2010, 3rd Dec 2010, 3rd Jan 2011.

Both the Date and the Date Range is variable. Also, the Index Value for selected Date of one or more month may not be available as that being a holiday. In that case, the formula needs to use the last available Index Value before that Date. e.g. If Index Value for 3rd Oct 2010 is not available, system will use the Index Value of 2nd Oct 2010.

i am trying to create a forumla in a column (D in my expamle below) to count the number of days between two dates. Knowing that col D will change everytime the @now date changes - but thats ok..

COL A COL B COL D

ROW 1 Open Date Closed Date Count of days open

ROW 2 4/1/07 BLANK CELL Formula result here

ROW 3 4/1/07 9/5/07 Formula result here

if col b has a date then subrtract col a from b and display the # result, if col b is blank then subtract col a from location I store the @ now date - say Col ZZ Row 99? so no matter there is a count of number of days in every row in column D

I have column B with a heading "Days Remaining" and column L with a heading "Deadline". starting with row 5, I need to be able to enter a date in L5 and see the days I have left, from that day untill today, on B5. I need to then be able to enter a date into L6 and see a result in B6 and on and on. Then I need to be able to insert or delete a column and have the formulas still work in the columns with the heading "Days Remaining" and "Deadline"
