Fill In Gaps - Missing Days In Range

I get given a csv file on a monthly basis which contains consumption data per day for the specified period. This sounds simple but on occasion (more often than not) the data has missing days. This can cause me problem later on in my analysis.
I can happily total the monthly consumption using the date and month text. What i want to do however is to sort the csv file into daily consumption and highlight the missing days i.e. have a range of the days in the month and allocate the daily data to the correct date. I currently do this manually but know that there must be a better, automated approach... searching for matching dates for example?
In my head i'm thinking the following approach but lack the coding skills to do it.
1. Define the start and end dates. Perhaps count the number of days between the two dates and autofill the start date down the appropriate number of days in column A?
2. Paste the csv file into a different sheet and, starting from the top, cut and paste the csv data to the correct date created in step 1. Do this for each row based on the csv data.

I have a sheet of over 40000 rows, I attach a sample. Column a is called dam and column b is called damsire. Each dam has only one 1 damsire. Both column a and column b are sorted ascending. Unfortunately there are big gaps in column b. some of these can be filled in as we have the information e.g. b38 and b39 should be Manila..as the row 37 tells you the correct damsire. Similiarly b49 could be filled in as shernazar. I want to create a new column which contains a formula to fill in these blanks. of course some of the blanks cant be filled in as the information is not there e.g. b23 to b28.

Is there a formula to count gaps? If you see the sheet below, I want to count maximum gaps in range A1:J12 and put that count in column L.

I have data in several rows whereby my column D looks like this:

Throughout the week, additional data is added to the rows, thus creating blank cells within this D Column:

Is there a macro i can run which will re increment only the blank cells to look something like this?"

I have 2 sheets in the same workbook (sheet 1 & 2) with one matching column (A) of info and need them to combine and fill the missing data. Each sheet has identical column heading and the amount of data is not the same; sheet 1 has ~2000 rows and the other ~5000. Sheet 1 is consolidated so I would like to fill in the missing cells from sheet 2.
Ex. Sheet 1.......
Ex. Sheet 2.....
As you can see, the missing cells in sheet 1 could be filled from the data in sheet 2; also note that the above info is on different rows (and will be random for each case). I only want the columns to fill in that have a matching email, the other 3000 rows in sheet 2 do not match with sheet 1 and I don't want the rest of it to transfer over.

I am busy with a very large dataset +-20 000 records showing the movement data
and I am having problem with inserting missing data: I have columns titled day hour and position, but multiple records for each as data was initally recorded by second. Data looks like this
Day Hour Position
1 2 Z5
1 2 Z5
1 3 Z5
1 3 Z4
1 16 Z1
12 2 Z3
13 0 Z3
What I need to end up with is a sequential dataset running from day 1 to 388 with hours 1-24 of each day. Positions need to be filled in for all data recorded (see above). The big problem is that movements between positions need to be recorded and accounted for i.e if more than >80 of time was spent at the position Z3 then that is the position for the hour.

i have a time series of data at one hour interval ( from 6:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs ) each day and again from 6:00 to 18:00 hrs next day and so on for several years. in this series many data are missing. i ve to fill in these missing data in such a manner so that the new values becomes the linearly interpolated values in between the data given at any two hours. no rows are allowed to be inserted in between 18:00 hrs of the previous day to 6:00 hrs on the next day. pl see the attatchment.

There are data entries next to these time stamps. I am able to create just the time stamps starting at the beginning and ending at the end of the month but I need it to fill in missing entries in a data set. The code below works but only some of the time. I have tried a few different things but nothing works.

I am looking for a formula that I can use in the lower table to fill in the missing County cells, based on the values in the Town/Zip columns on the top table (I apoligize for the crudeness):

I have tried many different ways of coming up with a solution of this problem without writing a VBA program, however, Excel's date and time formatting scheme seem to be tripping me up. As a result, I am trying to figure out what direction to go.
I have seached the board up and down looking for a solution and I have found one problem that is midly similar but I do not fully understand the code. I have tried to modify it but to no avail.
Here is my problem:
I have 9 columns of data that are reported in 15 minute intervals for a little over 3 years. There are missing data in the data set and it would be infeasable for me to manually find and replace the missing data. (Over 110000 rows of data)
Example of data (Where "/" delienates column seperation):
Date / Temp 2m / Temp 10 m / Radiation / RH / WindAve / WindMax / WindMin / Rain

So what I need to do is this:
1) Find which data times are missing
2) Add the appropriate amount of rows in between where the missing data would be
3) Add the correct dates to the new rows
4) Add "N/A" to the columns that have no data
You can see that my date and time are formatted in mm/dd/yy hh:mm

new data goes into the report, the pivot table looks at a dynamic range and confirmed that the range doesn't select any empty cells.
Just wrote a macro to fill missing cells with a data on workbook open.
all the data is date form, yet still when i refresh the pivot table i look my montly grouping, when i try to group again it says "unable to group"

I am facing problem in "Month & days" formula
In my current salary sheet "Days fill auto according to given months" from 1-31 as you can see in my attached salary sheet

the Big problem is i want my salary sheet give dates from 23-22 for example if i select "January" sheet should display date from "Jan-Feb" starting from 23rd Jan to 22 Feb only.... and if I select February than sheet should display date from 23rd Feb to 22 March.... and so on
and if there any blank cell left in the dates area it will highlight it with RED auto as u can see in attached sheet.

I am trying to fill a row with abbreviated days of the week. example type Wed in cell A1 and cells B1 through Z1 change to the appropriate day Thu, Fri, Sat etc. I know how to do it with the fill off the menu but want to be able to change Wed to Thu and the same cells will change.

Having a problem trying to figure out how to create a auto list of days of the month.
Currently I have an input cell with the format mmmm/yy
I then have a list using Weekdays($A$1)... +1....+2.... etc etc
While this works for this current month ( novemeber ) as soon as I chnage the input cell to decemember the list messes up.

I am trying to create a macro that will automatically fill in the days for a user if they fix the date. That is my end-goal, but obviously I have to take it step by step.
My first complication is how can I fill in all of the day rectangle boxes automatically? I was trying to create a macro for it, but it would only change the very first box. (You can see from my sheet, the days go 3 then 2)
After that I want to try and have constant-macro where if they change the month and the year it will automatically update the calendar for the user.

I have two columns which i want to compare, they contain text data such as A123.
what I'd like is if its in column A and not in Column B then add to bottom of column A.
Once its in column A i can do the vlookup's to draw the other data, costs etc, over but don't know how to identify, and add, the missing codes to the list.

I have a named dynamic range with the source
=OFFSET(Data!$J$2,0,0,COUNTA(Data!$J:$J),1)
Thia is set up as the data validation list in a cell with a drop down
list It is set so that once the drop down is activated there is the
option of selecting a blank from the bottom of the list so that if you
activate the cell in error you don't have to delete any entry you are
forced to make, you can select the blank and leave the cell blank. This
works fine until the list gets quite long at which time there is no
option of a blank.I don't know the number in the list where this starts
but certainly a list over 100 has this problem. On shorter lists the
blank is selectable. The selection is correct as when you check the
named list it shows the correct range. I would welcome any views on
solving this if it can be resolved.

I have a pivot table based on a sales sheet called "Datasheet". I have created the pivot table using a dynamic name as below =OFFSET(DataSheet!$A$1,0,0,COUNTA(DataSheet!$A:$A),12). My problem is that I have 11100 lines of sales data but the when i refresh my pivot table it only seems to be going down to row 10979. Therefore missing out some of the data. Is there a max number of lines for a dynamic named range or is my formula wrong in any way

I'm trying to create a list of missing numbers in a range, but I can't fiure out how to do it. The problem lies in that the range of numbers is in the middle of a larger number. ie. xxx-xx-0001-xx would be number 1, and xxx-xx-0500-xx would be number 500.
I need to scan multiple sheets containing these numbers, and produce a list of the numbers missing from that range.
Example:
Sheet1 has xxx-xx-0001-xx through xxx-xx-0009-xx, and xxx-xx-0018-xx through xxx-xx-0042-xx.
Sheet2 has xxx-xx-0053-xx through xxx-xx-0062-xx, and xxx-xx-0067-xx through xxx-xx-0072-xx.
Sheet3 needs to have a function that produces a list showing xxx-xx-0010-xx through xxx-xx-0017-xx, xxx-xx-0043-xx through xxx-xx-0052-xx, and xxx-xx-0063-xx through xxx-xx-0066-xx.
I need to be able to do this without VBA. The list doesn't necessarily have to have a different number per cell, it could even show them all on 1 cell if it's easier, but it would be more presentable if it was 1 number per cell in a row or column.

The following macro searches for missing combinations. This macro will search the complete list and will return any missing combination from "1, 2, 3, 4" to "7, 8, 9, 10".
I need to make some changes in this macro, so that it will search for missing combinations only within a specified range of cells (and not the whole list). For example (see excel file attached), I would like to place a search within range("G23:J183"), from combination "1, 2, 6, 9" to combination "4, 6, 8, 10". In this case, it should return only 9 missing combinations.

I have a series of data that acts upon a traffic light system, i.e. Green, Amber and Red. These variables are posted along row 1 for example and there are 10 columns. Per column I have a tick and cross to answer a question. How can I find out how many ticks were on green days, amber days and red days? I have attached an example.

I would like to create a monthly inventory, based on workdays (Monday - Friday)Myrna Larson has a formula that I would like to use with the workday function, but I don't know how to combine them.

I've recently been making a macro in visual basic that loops through all my excel files and replaces an old company name to a new company name and It's working great, well except for one thing... It always misses one string in the file and it leaves me with 90% of the file corrected. I think that the string might be a part of a merged range so Range.Find is not able to find it.
