to perform find, if match, ubdate, looping action in various sheets of excel through VB.

Currently, i am working at WAREHOUSE, where not having SAP OR ERP to perform [ maintain ] each & every in & out movement of products. However, i have been using excel to put in values for in & out manually....

Looping Macro On Find Closest Match

I have modified some code I found in these forums that once I enter a value in a cell I can have it find the closest match to that value and scroll down the list and paste that value as an offset. The code works perfectly, but my data will often contain the same values repeated and these aren't duplicates and I need to know how to loop the code to ensure it doesn't just find the first value but also the second (if the first is already populated) Code is:

---- What I need to do is insert a loop of some sort that basically says IF my offset cell has a value then to find the next closest amount and continue the macro.

So if my list was:

500
600
500

And I wanted to find 499 then my list would look like:

500 499
600
500

BUT if I wanted to match off another amount of 501 it would keep the 499 it found and then find the 501 making the completed list look like:

700
50
500 499
600
500 501

Right now the amounts are being overidden as I don't know how to loop it...

Search Variable Number Of Sheets To Find Partial Match On Name

I have a monthly report. Worksheets for each month, each row is a type of fruit (column A), and the number sold (column B). A new worksheet is added each month with the information. I also have a Summary worksheet - running total of all months: Type of Fruit (column A), Number sold (column B), and Total of all fruits - number sold. I would like a formula for the Summary worksheet - to match that fruit (column A) to any of the other worksheets - matching the fruit (column A), and bring back the number sold (column B). (note some apples are Fuji and some are Honey crisp - those would be totaled together)

ex:
Tab = Jan 14
Fuji apples3
Bananas2
grapes9
TOTAL14

I has number sheets with thousands rows of unsort data. I need to find the price, with optional name and date if given, to return the rows values.

Example from Summary sheet, to find the price range and return 3 rows (even there are four set of answers, highlighted in light blue), with sorting the highest price first.

Last Match Row Number In VBA Without Looping?

I have a data set like this

Date ID

5/1/13 ID3
6/1/13 ID1
7/1/13 ID1

Now i want a VBA Procedure/function that gives the row no. of the row in which ID1 is appearing last. I can do this by a worksheet formula in worksheet or by looping in VBA but I need it in VBA without looping. The reason behind avoiding loop is data can be extended up to 50000 rows,so looping will take too much time to complete.

INDES(Match) Vs Looping

Recently I found here that using the following formula is great for looking up an item and returning a value from an adjacent column.

=INDEX(RETURN_THIS,MATCH(LOOK_THIS_UP,IN_THIS_RANGE,MATCH_TYPE))
It is far faster than doing it by way of code. My question is can this approach be modified to find not only the first matching item in a list but to sum all matching items?

I'll use an example Sheet1 and Sheet2:
Sheet1 serves as the summary sheet and contains, we'll say, city names and a column for totals by city
Sheet2 has raw data where one column contains city names, more than one row of data per city name normally. The adjacent column contains bandwidth usage in the form ##,###.##

Looping Through All Sheets Not Working

I have a macro to loop through all the sheets in a workbook and apply a filter in column C. the filter is by Date and all sheets have the exact same format. For some reason the macro will go through the loop but not change to the next sheet. The message box line however does go from sheet to sheet.

I have following code which is not behaving the way I want.

The problem is the last statement, a chart which gets created in an iteration does not "move" to a new sheet but rather same sheet. So end result is a sheet with chart of the last iteration.

How to get this code to create new charts in new sheet and not the same sheet.

I'm trying to go through a workbook and, based on some user inputs, hide certain sheets and charts (these charts are their own tab, i.e. a chart object). Here's a sample code I wrote for a dummy workbook I have. Unfortunately it doesn't work, I think because the loops are nested. However if I can figure out how to fix this code I can easily adapt it to my other real problem.

I have a workbook with many sheets, basically all the sheets are almost the same template with fill-in information for different type of jobs, and for the most part, the information is located in the same areas in each sheet.

I need to look in each sheet for a cell labeled, Committee ID:

And then copy it and the cell to the right of it, so for example:

A8 hasCommittee ID:
B8 hasC1234N

So, loop through all the sheets and get these values and then paste them into a new sheet in the same workbook and call that sheet Report. When pasting data into the Report sheet, insert a space between each result.

Use FIND Instead Of Looping

I'd heard that using FIND might make macros run faster than looping. Below is the code I'm currently using. There are two worksheets. The first has a column containing numbers and a blank column to insert the associated code. Sheet two has a list of unique numbers with the associated code. Presently I used a nested loop to populate the code column of the first sheet. As sheet 1 contains in the neighborhood of 25,000 rows it can take quite a long time to run using the loop

Looping Through Range Whilst Copying And Pasting To / From Different Sheets?

I have a matrix of coordinates in sheet ("layout") (eastings - V4:BR4, northings - U5:U100). I'm trying to run through each northing (row value U5:U100), for every easting (V4:BR4), by writing the coordinate value to sheet("ISO_model"), cell K18. Within the sheet (ISO_model) there is a model which gives an output in cell HA500. I'd like to write this output (for the specific easting and northing) back into the sheet ("layout"), so that I then have the x,y, z values to create a contour plot.

I've tried to start the look through the row of eastings, but it is not working.

Stop Find From Looping

The following macro searches Sheet1 for a value in a user defined textbox. When it finds the value it copies the row and and pastes the row in another sheet and then loops. My problem is i need to add a "do until" so that i will stop. I just don't know what code to add after the "until" to have it search the sheet once and then stop. Right now it will repeat infinitly. I need to know how to get it to stop once it looks through all the cells once. My current code is:

Code To Find Range Without Looping

As a part of a much larger routine, I need a code to find five consequetive cells in a column with identical value "XYZ" and select the first one of them. Say,

I have a column:
apples,
pears,
apples,
oranges,
xyz,
oranges,
xyz,
xyz,
xyz,
apples,
apples,
apples,
xyz,
xyz,
xyz,
xyz,
xyz,
xyz,
xyz,
etc.

I need to select the twelfth cell in this column, highlighted red.
I guess there could be some complicated if-then loop to go through the whole column, checking each cell and comparing it to the next four, but it would take forever to excecute... Is there some other way around? To find the first occurence of five xyz's one directly under another?

Looping Through Cells.find Results

I've written a macro which searches the sheet for a value, when it finds the value it does something, then I want it to keep looping until it's done.

The issue is that Excel's find does not search first to last. Once it gets to the last, and you search next, it goes back to the beginning and finds the first cell.

In order to break out of the loop, I figured I should store the first cell found in a variable and then check inside my loop to see if I have got looped back to the beginning. If I got back to the first cell found, then I exit my loop and I'm done.

However, my code doesn't work. It exits the loop after a couple of iterations.

Looping Through Userform Controls To Find A Value

What I'd like to know now is if there is a way to loop through a set of controls...I'll call that set 'A' and if the value "No Option" is found in one of A's controls, then a corresponding control in set 'B' is formatted as disabled and with a value of 'X'.

Ex. Control A1 = "Cat"
Control B1 is enabled with no value

Control A2 = "Dog"
Control B2 is enabled with no value

Control A3 = "No Option"

Looping Through Data To Find Today's Deliveries

My spreadsheet's column Z is a delivery date. When the workbook is started up (preferrably once per day, rather than each and every time you start it in a day), I would like to be able to loop through column Z, and if the date is today, toss the same row's columns A, D, and J on to `Summary`!A2:A?? (however many rows it needs), concatenated. I know I can do it easily with a for loop, but as I've learned, for loops tend to be really slow. Is there a quick or better way to do this than with a for loop?

VLookup To Pivot Table Using Match Function - Returns Error If Can't Find Match Value

I am having some trouble getting a formula to work. I am building a report that pulls figures from a pivot table in another workbook. I am using a vlookup with match function to get the column index to find the relevant data I want. Where I need to add two columns together I am using sum, with the vlookup & match formulas nested in them e.g.:

Where:
F13 = Employee number
Column C on the pivot 156 workbook is where the employee number is based.
The Match formula is then getting the column index from the column headings of the pivot table ie. "FAID"

This in itself works fine, as long as it finds a match in the column headings. This is where i get the error as in the above function "COMD" is not in the pivot table. However I need to keep it included as it may appear on a future pivot table. Is there a way of getting the sum function to complete even though later in the formula it can't complete the vlookup? So it will ignore it, or assume the value is zero if it can't find it? The formula probably needs to do this for all the vlookups as some headings may drop off in future pivot tables.

Now,If KPI is for example = "Favourite Hotel" and if i have data that looks like :

Then it seems to not look be looking for an exact match (e.g. Favourite Hotel) and rather is finding the first item in the list that contains the KPI string (E.g. Favourite Hotel - London).

How do i make it search for an exact match?

Match Data From Two Sheets?

I am receiving a data from two different sources having multiple information. I want to match the data for any missing entries from one sheet . There is a common column Field N which contains the reference number of the transaction, based on this reference number i require to match these entries. e.g: Sheet A contains serial Number, name, ID Number (not common in both sheets) , amount , name and of course [B]Reference[ Number ( which is common in both the sheets.

I would like to match these two sheets on the basis of this reference number and if there is a MISMATCH of ( Reference number is NOT present in sheet 2 than this information should be COPIED in a SEPARATE work sheet. I tried different VLOOKUP functions BUT am still unsuccessful.
