I have a workbook that contains worksheets whose sheetnames are specific to each day of the month ie: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th, and so on up to 31st. I am trying to write an workbook open procedure to check the day of the month and match it to the relevant worksheet so it will open to that day. for example if opened today being the 25th, i want the code to unhide sheet named 25th and select it, whilst all other sheets bar one is hidden.
I'm having a problem to use the macro for opening a specific worksheet in a workbook. My plan to setup the workbook to open the first worksheet no matter which worksheet that was last saved and close.
What i have in mind is like below macros but it is not working.
Private Sub Workbook_Open() Worksheets("Main").Activate End Sub
Attached is the sample for the workbook. Test file.xlsm‎
I would like the workbook to open to a specific worksheet everytime it is opened regardless of what worksheet it was in when file was saved. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I'm trying to develop a macro to amalgamate some data on currency exchange rates that are stored in different files with the dates saved in the file's name. The code of the macro I recorded when opening an example of such a workbook is:
Say I have two worksheets, "Sheet1" and "Sheet2". Let's also say A1 in Sheet1 could have one of four values: cat, dog, rabbit, mouse. Now, based on which value cell A1 on Sheet1 is, I need different rows hidden in Sheet 2. For argument sake let's say if cat is chosen rows 1-5 are hidden, if dog, 6-10 and so on.
I'm documenting the steps of a process with each step accounting for a specific amount of business days. How do I determine the specific business day based on the number of days it takes to complete a process? For example: Start date then 45 business days from that date the next step begins...then 3 business days from that date the following step begins and so on.
I am in desperate need of a function that will count a column of data where there are blanks and values based on a certain date that will also capture any data that is added after refreshing the table from Access. I have tried several functions but this is what I have: =(ROWS('TouchBack Detail'!$Q:$Q)*COLUMNS('TouchBack Detail'!$Q:$Q))+(COUNTIFS('TouchBack Detail'!$B:$B,'Nov TouchBack Summary'!B$1)). The result should be 3 but it’s including all other cells in the column that are not and should not be included in the refreshed table’s data (Table_TouchBack.accdb). I have attached the spreadsheet for review. The function is in cell B27 highlighted in yellow.
to open a workbook at a specific time. I want to beable to flip my computer on at 8:50am, go grab some coffee and then at 9:00:00am have my workbook open and performing tasks. Besides turning on my computer, I dont want to have to open or activate anything prior to having my workbook open. However if there is code to turn on my computer from a sedative state that would be great too.
is there any way to open a workbook and select a sheet within the book without having the entire name? I've got a unique workbook and worksheet identifier but don't know how to use wildcards to get my macro to open the right workbook.
I'm needing a formula that will determine the number of days that fall in a specific month based on a date range. For example, if I have a date range of 10/15/2009 to 01/13/2009, I need the formula to determine the number of days in each month within the range (October has 15 days in the date range; November has 30, December has 31, and January has 13.) I have a large spreadsheet that would be so much easier to manage with such a formula. Currently, my spreadsheet is setup as follows. I need the forumla automatically fill in the number of days under each month.
Stard Date End Date Oct-09 Nov-09 Jan-10 Feb-10 10/15/2009 01/13/2009
Is it possible to have a text box and a macro button that when a user enters a name of a folder (or part of the name) on say the c: drive it takes you there? Example being i have a folder called Alcan Inc on my c: drive, so i type in the text box alcan and click the macro. it then opens a windows explorer screen with the folder open.
I'm having an issue with a worksheet that I created. Apparently, every time that I go to open it, it gives me a Grey blank screen. Yet, I know the worksheet is behind this Grey screen. I went to full screen and I can see the work sheet in full view, but it always opens in this Grey screen. I'm not sure why its doing this, no other worksheets open in this matter. I have tried reinstalling excel and it still didn't fix this problem. But it is only happening with one particular worksheet. I'm sure it is just a setting that I might have changed, but I can't figure it out. The file isn't corrupt because the macros still work, I tested them.
I have a workbook with 2 worksheets being used. Sheet 1 has the months of the year starting with Jan in A1, Feb in B1 etc. On Sheet 2, I have a column of information. The first cell in the column eg. B1 has data validation list based on the months on Sheet 1. The information in the rest of the colum on Sheet 2 needs to be copied to the relevant colum on Sheet 1
Sub BrownBH() If Range("Brown!B4:B31") = X Then Range("C4").Value = [#A] Else Range("C4").Value = NT End If End Sub
However, this doesn't even work.
When somebody enters an X in a specific cell on one worksheet, it's supposed to change the value to A of a specific cell in a different worksheet. Sounds simple enough...but...
Dim fexport1 As String ' variables for the exported file Dim fexport2 As String Dim wb1 As String 'variables to change between the opened workbooks Dim wb2 As String strTemp = "Please Choose The Exported File" MsgBox strTemp fexport1 = Application.GetOpenFilename("Excel Files (*.xls), *.xls)") If InStr(fexport1, "False") = 0 Then Workbooks.Open fexport1 wb1 = ActiveWorkbook.Name
Else strTemp = "Operation Canceled" End If
The problem is that Crystal Reports generates the file with an invalid worksheet name (it contains a backslash) and I do not have access to modify the Crystal Report. Althought the file can be automatically repaired by Excel when manually opened, the macro chokes and the "Application.DisplayAlerts = False" does not fix it. The only solution I can think of is renaming the worksheet without opening the file.
if you open a workbook & choose not to enable macros, is there any way to later change your mind & set macros to enabled without having to close & reopen the workbook?
I would like to change the greater than number to the value in cell 'I11' in sheet 'Linear Programming Data' and the less than number to the value in cell 'I12' in sheet 'Linear Programming Data'. The code I am using was done by recording a macro since I don't know how to code in vba.
Code: Sub Results2() ' Results2 Macro ' copy table filter power by greater than and less than Sheets("Finalizing Results 2").Select Cells.Select
