Get Cells In Column F To Highlight All Negative Numbers?
Apr 6, 2014
How do I get the cells in column "F" to highlight all negative numbers UNLESS the following 2 conditions are met: the number in column F = "-105" AND there is an "@" corresponding in column "C". In the attached file F5 & F7 are highlighted properly according to what I want, but F6 is not (since F6's value is "-105" AND C6's value contains an "@").

I want to be able to highlight data in column B where amount is identical (ignore negative sign) only where data in column A is identical.
In this particular case it should highlight 500,-500 where data in column A = ABC & also 100,-100 where data in column A =CAC.

I have one debit and one credit column. I want to higlight duplicates, with positive and negative values.
Like this.
Column A
5000
1000
10000
3000
Column B
- 10000
-5000
-3000
-2000
I know how to do the conditional formating to find duplicates when there is only positive or negative numbers, but i don't know how to match both positive and negative numbers.

Col A - budget items (description)
Col B - budget dollars
Col C - actual dollars
Row 10 - summation Cols B and C
When the budget is prepared the actual dollars in Col C are equal to the budget dollars for all items. For instance the formula =b2 is placed in cell C2. As time passes the user records actual dollars in Col C for each item by entering the actual amount directly into the cell. Actual dollars do not become known all at the same time, so that Col C will contain a mixture of formulas and entered numbers.
How can I highlight the cells in Col C that have entered numbers rather than formulas.

I have this data source file that comes from a back office program, and basically what i want it to do is to turn the number negative in column C when the header of that column in column A is WITHDR and leave it positive when it is CONTR. What i was thinking was that it could go to column A from column C and go up each cell until the cell is not a date and multiply the column C number by -1 depending the column A header equals WITHDR and do that for every cell in column C, but I dont know how to proceed, im new at VBA.

I have a large dataset (24000 rows) that requires me to multiply two different columns of integers. In some cases, the two integers are both negative and multiplying them results in a product that is positive. I actually need that product to be negative rather than positive. I can't quite seem to figure out the best way to accomplish this.

I have data that comes from a subsytem that places the negative sign at the right of the number, so it is recognized as text. I can get around this using find and replace and then a second step to multiply that by -1, but is there a formula that can do this for me?
I was trying if(right(A1,1)="-",TBD,A1)

I managed to find this great bit of code some time ago and would now like to add to it. The code basically identifies any duplicates in column A and then lists the results in a message box,e.g.:
Duplicate Name: REF12345
Rows: 2,3
Works great for 1 or 2 duplicates but if there are many it becomes quite difficult to keep track. I'd like keep the code as is but add highlighting to the identified cells.

I am trying to find a solution for highlighting cells in a column that are repeats, ie. >3. I also need these cells to only be highlighted if the adjacent cell in the next column contains specific text. I have tried using conditional formatting with a countifs formula to no avail.

I have tried a little bit of different conditional formatting but cannot seem to get what I want.
So then I found this code that will do what I want if I could get it to recognize the highlight.
Sub HilightRows()
For Each cl In Range("C:C")
If cl.Value = 202546 Or cl.Value = 102725 Or cl.Value = 192473 Then
Rows(cl.Row).Highlight = True
End If
Next
End Sub
I want to be able to highlight rows that have certain numbers. When it finds the number it highlights it and goes to the next one and highlights it and so on. The numbers reside in column 'C'.
I changed Row(cl.Row).HiddenRows = True, To Row(cl.Row).Highlight = True. But it is not working.

Usually this question is asked the other way around, but I have a somewhat unique problem. A certain website gives out tables filled with numbers. Positive numbers show in black font and negative numbers show in red font, but unfortunately, negative numbers do not include the minus sign -- the font is red and that's it!
I need a macro (or any other solution) that will turn the red font numbers to negative ones and would possibly format the cell to show negative numbers in red (I guess the last part is easier). The main problem is searching for the red font numbers and turning them negative.

I would like to know how I can have a macro run on an excel sheet of mine.
I have a little database with a few names and email addresses submitted to me via web.
But some people tried to register to my services TWICE with a different name, but same email address (not smart eh)
I would like to run a macro on a column and have it search for duplicate values and highlight them in... blue perhaps.?
P.s. the column format is set to 'TEXT'

I am attempting to have a cell highlighted if the adjacent cells are visible, but no highlighting when the cells are hidden. For example, Cell D1 is highlighted when cells A1:C1 are visible, but not when cells A1:C1 are hidden. (this is for the group/outline feature)

I have a mass of data which look something like this:
table removed
and I require the ranges of reference numbers to be listed in a column one above the other, which requires inserting new rows. I also need the date & description columns copied down into the newly inserted rows.
So basically for example I would want the top row to now read:
table removed
and then apply the same procedure to the other ranges below this.

I have a spreadsheet showing names, quality percentages and times taken to answer a call in 3 columns. I would like to highlight the cells that fall within the top 20% of those shown (e.g. if there are 100 quality percentages I want to highlight the top 20 not those over 80%) also the same with call length.
I have a column of numbers and times (mins and secs) and what would like to do is set a conditional format so that the cell turns a colour when the number of any cell is within the highest 20% and the other column turns a different colour when the time is within the lowest 20%.

What is the best way to highlight all cells in a column from bottom to top?
For example, if I'm in column O, row 138, what keyboard shortcut would I need to select ONLY and ALL cells from the row I'm currently on, (in this example, 138) to row 1 and ONLY in that particular column?
Keep in mind that the next time I may be starting at row 1,200, it could be different everytime.
I tried everything I could think of..
CTRL+A
CTRL+SHIFT+A
CTRL+HOME
CTRL+SHIFT+HOME
CTRL+UP ARROW
CTRL+SHIFT+UP ARROW
CTRL+PAGE UP
CTRL+SHIFT+PAGE UP
and nothing worked to select everything in that column from the row I'm currently on, to row 1.

PART 1
- A record is created
- The record is modified once/several times
- Only the original record and the last modified record needs to be kept
PART 2
- The differences between the original and the last record need to be highlighted in the spreadsheet.
- This has to be repeated for a whole bunch of rows
Currently I am manually deleting the rows and eye-balling the changes. I'm using Excel 2002. I have ASAP Utitilities as well. Although macros are cool, I was hoping I could try with an Add-in or software.

need to understand the easiest way of highlighting the highest and lowest number in a range of cells several times in the same column.
As I said the cell range will be in the same column. So highlight the highest number green and lowest number red in cells a3 to a9 and then repeat the same process again in cells a11 to a17 and so on.the cell references are an example.
So I have several separate sets of numbers in the same column.

I have a very simple formula which is basically one cell minus another "=A1-B1".
When the values are equal, the cell this formula is in will display a zero. However, when the subtracted figure is greater than the first figure, i will then get a minus figure E.g. 10-11 = -1.
How can i make it that when the formula result is less than zero (i.e. a minus number) the figure displayed stays at zero but still using the minus funciton? Basically once it hits zero i need it to stop subtracting. This may be really simple but i cant figure it out.

I have constructed an inventory formula, subtracting Current Inventory (CI) from Required Inventory (RI), to generate a number of how many new products must be Ordered: RI-CI=O. The problem is that if CI exceeds RI, I get a negative number for "O".
Question: How can I structure the formula to give a zero for any sum less than 1?
