Hide Based On Time Difference Column
Mar 2, 2008
Have 2 columns with time values and the third showing the time difference ( no Problems). what to hide the row if the time diff is > 2 seconds? (problem) What would be the best why to do this
{Sub TimeDiff()
Dim i As Integer
Dim timevalue As Date
timevalue = "00:00.20"
Application. ScreenUpdating = False
With ActiveWorkbook. Sheets("Racing")
For i = 4 To . Range("M1") - 1
If .Range("P" & i) > timevalue And Rows(i).EntireRow.Hidden = False And .Range("P" & i) <> "" Then
Rows(i).EntireRow.Hidden = True
End If
Next i
End With
Application.ScreenUpdating = True
End Sub

I am conducting some analysis on alarm data of certain devices and am looking for creating a VBA algorithm that will do the following (refer to the table below for example data)
I want identify an asset in alarm (Column F) and based on its asset ID (Column C) and Fault Description (Column D) then find the row when the asset with the same asset ID and fault description returns to an 'ok' Asset State. After the row where the same asset ID and Fault description is found where the asset state returns to 'ok', I want to calculate the total alarm time based on the difference between when the asset ID and Fault description goes from 'Alarm' State to 'OK' state from DateandTime Column.
I want the result to be populated in a new worksheet that displays data with the following column headings as a result of the above calculations: Date, Asset ID, Asset Description, Fault Description, Alarm Time
I have added an additional column to show the type of output I am after.
There are up to 20,000 rows of data I want to perform the above calculation on.
A
B
C
D

I want to make a formula based on 2 times ex: 10:07:00 and 10:09:00. This formula should display "intime" if the diference between both is under 20 minutes, "outime" if the diference is above 20 minutes and it should display "error" if the time is under 0 minutes (this will only happen when someone makes a mistake typing in the time. For example 10:37:00 and 10:36:00)

I require calculating difference between two columns. (Actual and Estimated).
Difference between these two numbers are calculated in third column, but it is reset every time actual number is non-zero.
Scenario:-
-Estimated Numbers are always followed by an actual number.
-After actual number is obtained, estimated numbers till that date will be added and deducted from actual number.
-After this, again estimated number will be added till next actual number is obtained for deduction.
If estimated number is not followed by actual number, then no need for difference calculation.

Please find attached a daily copy of a spreadsheet that is used to monitor train running times.
The columns on the left - "Serv No, Serv Start Date,Train No:, Scheduled Arrival, Scheduled Depart" are provided to us automatically and the underlying cell formatting/formula cannot be changed. This information is cut directly from a daily report sent to us the previous day. The cell formatting for the start date is custom - dd-mm-yyyy hh:mm.
The sheet is usually locked out with user access only to the left hand side to cut and paste train times in and the input columns on the right hand side. User has no requirement to adjust any details in the left had column apart from to add additional trains at the bottom is need be. I have left the loaded sheet blank and complete with all underlying cell formatting, conditional formatting and formulas intact for you to play with.
Both sheets essentially do the same thing so whatever formula changes are made to the empty sheet can be adapted for the loaded sheet.
For simplicity, I will focus on the empty sheet. What I am mucking around with is having the user input the train arrival time in the "Actual Arrival" column - (column F)
What I am looking at then making occur is the spreadsheet automatically filling the adjacent columns with the appropriate text and calculations.
To do this excel needs to compare column the number (cell input is text formatted) as a number with the arrival time in column G. It then needs to calculate if the train is Early (16 minutes or more before scheduled arrival), on time (+/- 15 minutes either side of scheduled arrival) or late (16 minutes or more after scheduled). It then needs to automatically place the letter "E", "O" or "L" in column K and the time differential in column L.
My problem is two fold.
Firstly, I cannot seem to make the spreadsheet automatically enter a letter into column K depending on the above conditions.
Secondly, I have had limited success in having the spreadsheet compare column J with column F and working out the differential. However, this only works if the time remains linear. IE only if the train runs on time or late. It gives an incorrect time differential if the train is early. I will attach this spreadsheet tomorrow as an add on to this post.

I have a set of 3,000 data points. The data is in one second intervals, however I am interested in seeing what the data looks like in a graph if I only had a point every minute. I have the following set up.
A B C
TIME X Y
What I want to do is to leave the first cell unhidden, and then hide the next 59. And then repeat this so I narrow the data down to one second each. I'm looking to do this multiple times, so I can create a graph each time in order to get an idea of what the data would look like if I only had a point for every minute.
Is there a macro that I could write, that would hide every cell except every 60th one? I was thinking that I could hide it based on the time. What would the code look like if my time was in 00:00:00 format? It's increasing, so I need it to hide cells that aren't equal to XX:XX:01, for example.

This may be a bit vague but here goes.
I have to calculate the difference between the start time and end time of a job. The only catch is, how can I avoid calculating "out of hours" time. So, if a job goes from 9am to 9am the next day, I want it to avoid calculating between the hours of 23:30 and 03:30.
Another example is if a job goes from 02:00 to 04:00, I want it to avoid the tim between 02:00 and 03:00.
If there is a difference in days, so the job goes overnight, how do I take that into consideration also.

I've got a time difference from 8:00AM - 12:30PM as 4.30 I'm trying to get the minutes, .30, converted into a 6 minute increment, .5. Is it possible to do this and if so how would it be done? Below is a chart of how the time is converted from 6 minutes increments into decimal form.
6 = 0.1 36 = 0.6
12 = 0.2 42 = 0.7
18 = 0.3 48 = 0.8
24 = 0.4 54 = 0.9
30 = 0.5 60 = 1.0

I have a Worksheet were I have a formula in cells from D5 to ALO5. That read "Hide" or "Unhide".
I would like the column to each hide individually hide if that column has "Hide" in in it. If it has "Unhide" in the column then it becomes visible again. The range of the columns match the formula cells which are "D" through "ALO".

Is there any formula to hide a column based on a value . I know we can do that manually using hide and Unhide option.
but I want this to be done dynamically without A MACRO.
In the attached sample spreadsheet, the row 3 (status) has either 0 or 1 that is feed from another sheet and change dynamically. I need to hide all columns with a value 0. In this sample columns B,D,H,I,J,N & P must be hidden.Suppose If the staus value is changed from 0 to 1 then the column must be displayed (unhide).

I wrote some simple code to work through a number of rows and hide the rows which contain a value of "XXX". For some reason, when the code hits the line denoted with? it hides the first row of "XXX"'s but then starts all over again at very first line of code outside the loop.
Sheet1. Range("start_1").Select 'cell c53

Selection.EntireRow.Hidden = True '????

with a simple code that could:
If column K2:k466 is blank or says "No" then columns L & M are hidden. If it says "Yes" it is not hidden.
Also,
If Column N2:N466 is blank or says "No" then Columns O,P,Q,R are hidden. If it says "Yes" they are not hidden.
Finally,
If Column V2:V466 has a zip code (or number) then columns T,U,W,X,Y,Z,AA,AB,AC are present. If there is no value in any of V2:V466 then they are hidden. .

My worksheet contains the following:
- Column G includes fifteen rows of a formula (beginning at G9) that returns a dynamic list of values based on criteria chosen through a dropdown box. The list can be anywhere from five to 20 values depending on the selection. When the potential matching values for the list are exhausted, the formula returns ""
- Column F includes one checkbox for each of the 20 rows containing the formula.
I need a script that will hide each checkbox that is next to a "blank" value. That is, if the cell in Column G = "", I need the corresponding checkbox to be invisible. Unfortunately, hiding the entire row is not an option. If the script could uncheck the boxes when hidden, that would be a bonus, but isn't absolutely necessary

a way to hide used rows if the color of the cell in column I is green( color 35 vba) but only if the cell is visible will the macro change the rows visible state, in other words already hidden rows will remain hidden regardless if they match the color requirement.
below is some pseudo code to try to explain better what I'm trying to do. The below code doesn't actually work but I was wondering if someone knew some code that would actually do what I've described.

I am trying to implement the following:
After the user selects something using the validation list in cell F38, the macro should check in column Q in the rows 44 till 425 for "hide". For each row in which it finds "hide" the entire row should be hidden.
I have the code below but it does't work yet. It calculates for ages and afterwards only the first 2 rows of the 381 are hidden (probably because the third row is not "hide").
Code:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Dim MyRange As Range
Dim ThisCell As Range
Target = Range("F38")

I have read several related threads and tried to adapt their answers to my application with no success. I am trying to write a macro that will hide rows based on that row's value in a certain column. Specifically, column AB contains sums and if a sum equals 0 I want to hide that row. The sums start at AB5 and go to AB118 but there are 4 gaps in the column at rows 25, 47, 70, and 94.

ElseIf Cells.Value(i) < v Then Rows(i).Hidden = True
End If
Next i
' Turn on screen refresh

What I have is a sheet where the cells in range A9:A3508 have a formula that evaluates to blank if any of a variety of conditions are not met (date falls outside desired range, does not meet filter criteria, etc.) and a number if these conditions are met. What I am looking for is for all rows in that range where A is blank to be hidden (not deleted), and for this to automatically update every time A changes (meaning that if A goes from blank to a number, that I will need that row to become unhidden again). I have considered just recording the macro and calling the function with a button, but as this is for external users, some of whom may be unfamiliar with Excel, I would rather keep it as clean, simple, and automatic as possible.

I have an Excel workbook with multiple sheets. In one sheet, there are many columns that automatically get hidden based on cells values (=1) in another sheet as I type. I use this
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Address = "$C$7" And Target.Value = 1 Then
Sheets("Stakes").Range("E:E").EntireColumn.Hidden = True
Else
If Target.Address = "$C$7" And Target.Value <> 1 Then
Sheets("Stakes").Range("E:E").EntireColumn.Hidden = False
End If
End If
End Sub
Recently I had to change the second sheet that instead of manually entered values, formula results appear in cells. And the above code doesn't work anymore, columns are always stay unhidden. How can I achieve what I want? I need columns get hidden if formula results =1.

B1 has 1500 B2 has 1715 B3 SHOULD be 2:15
Unfortunately I either keep getting all zero's, or the correct answer but without the ":" in the answer (b3 would look like 215)

Sub Button1_Click()
Range("B7").Select
With ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable1").PivotFields("Date")
.PivotItems("10/30/2006").Visible = False
.PivotItems("10/31/2006").Visible = True
End With
End Sub
I would like to show current day only using =today() or something similar. THis would eliminate the user having to modify the pivot tables daily.
