I am making a new stock card system to keep track of stock at work for a new storeman working in my department. What I want to be able to do it hide/show sheets bases on their colour, the reason I want to do this is because I want the new storeman to be able colour code products and only show certain ones at any one time to stop him from having to sort through loads of sheets, but also for him to be able to add extra sheets and asign them a colour and not need me to modify code and put it into category X So in summary, I want code that will hide all sheets that colour is red or blue etc and not need updating when new sheets are added.

Matching Cells Across Sheets And Returning Color Value Based On The Sheet?

I have a set of sheets on a workbook that contain addresses, which are all combined on the first sheet (as you can see in the attached file). I would like to use a formula to compare the addresses on the Main sheet with the other sheets, then return in the D column of Main a colored cell indicating on which sheet the address was found on; different colors for different sheets. I tried to figure out some conditional formatting, but to no avail. Also, on occasion I have spreadsheets with 5 or 6 sheets containing these mixed addresses. Is there a solution that won't be limited to just a few sheets for comparison?

Hide Worksheets Based On Tab Color

Found a closed post on a solution that is almost what I am looking for, described by the following tab layout...

All tabs in worksheet: Master1, Tab1, Tab2, Master2, Tab3, Tab4, Master3, Tab5, Tab6

Click Master1: Visible - Master1, Tab1, Tab2, Master2, Master3
Click Master2: Visible - Master1, Master2, Tab3, Tab4, Master3
Click Master3: Visible - Master1, Master2, Master3, Tab5, Tab6

When you click a master tab, all tabs that are NOT the same color as that Master are hidden (except other masters)

This bit of VBA does the trick however I would like it to be color based. In this model below, you have to manually add the worksheets that belong to a particular master.

The behavior I seek is to associate a worksheet with a master by changing its tab color, and not having to do it in the code. I think it could be accomplished by cycling through the workbook and creating an array of tabs based on tab color.

Hide Rows Based On Color

I have the following code to hide rows based upon whether or not the cell in column A is black or not.

Hide Row Based On Color Column I Being Present

a way to hide used rows if the color of the cell in column I is green( color 35 vba) but only if the cell is visible will the macro change the rows visible state, in other words already hidden rows will remain hidden regardless if they match the color requirement.

below is some pseudo code to try to explain better what I'm trying to do. The below code doesn't actually work but I was wondering if someone knew some code that would actually do what I've described.

Hide All The Sheets Except Important Sheet

I wanted to force the user to "enable macros." Searching online brought me to the method of hiding all sheets but one and only un-hiding the important sheets if the user accepts macros. This is done with event procedures as shown below ( I stole this code from a webpage and only added unprotect/protect workbook and made the Hideall and Showall subs private also since I don't want the user to have any idea what's going on):

The code below starting with BEGIN works but my problem is I need to add some additional stuff to the WorkBook_BeforeClose procedure. What I added to the BeforeClose procedure is a series of IF statements that follow this form:

The problem occurs if the User attempts to close without entering the required data. This will correctly trigger the above IF statements as desired. However, after Canceling, if the user decides to Save (without closing, by say clicking the floppy disk button in the upper left), then "HideAll" is executed which I do not want. I assume this is because bIsClosing has been set to TRUE and was never reset after the IF statements triggered a Cancel? Is this correct? How can I fix this? I tried adding a bIsClosing = False line at the end of every IF statement, but I think that just made things more screwy.

I see this forum and the example works perfectly in Excel 2003.. But we are using Excel 2007 now and it doesn't appear to be recognizing the user and is always refering to the "else" in the vb codes. Does this code for not work in 2007? Oh and I am refering to Post #10 on there with the attachment that will hide different sheets depending on which user is getting on the file.

I have a workbook which has roughly 50 sheets. What I'm trying to do is automatically hide/unhide sheets based on the cell values in the first sheet. So in sheet1 cell A1 i would a value of FALSE which would trigger sheets1, 2, & 3 to hide, when that value changes to TRUE then those same sheets would unhide. I need to replicate that for the 10 corresponding sets of sheets, but for each grouping of sheets a different cell in sheet1 would be the trigger, cell A2 = sheets 4 - 10, cell A3 = sheets 11 - 20, etc.

There is 2 parts to my question and I will explain them as best as i can.

1. I have a front sheet and 12 other sheets ( 1 for each month of the year) they all have the same layout. On my front sheet I want to create a button which will capture the sheet onto my front sheet for the current month, whether this means to make 12 buttons to choose which month is displayed on the front sheet or one that detects the date by system time i dont mind.

2. These 12 sheets will ideally be hidden and what I am wanting is again, on the front sheet 12 buttons for each sheet to bring up the corresponding hidden sheet so they can be viewed, and then on each of the 12 sheets another button which will hide them and return the user to the front sheet.

For Report 2, it will be Home Page, Peter, Sia, Tia. Since I have many reports I want this to be one macro. Stepwise, here is what I want

1. Click on button for Report, macro should check which report I am referring to and select the range on basis of that. Report 1 = column B, if Report 2, Range is column C.

In Project Overview column K is different project numbers and what i need the code to do is when this number is pressed it has to go to Projects Detailed and search for this number in column AV and hide the lines that does not correspond with the number that has been double clicked.

In project overview you should only be able to press the numbers from row 9 and down and in Projects Detailed the numbers in column AV also starts in row 9. Some of the cells in column AV are empty and these should also be hidden.

The next step which I am having issues with is hiding the sheets. I want all sheets in the workbook to be hidden except for the master. I only want the other sheets to be visble if the user inputs a name on the master sheet.

So if the cell contents on the master sheet, say "B9", is blank, the sheet in the workbook that corresponds to that cell will remain hidden. If the user inputs anything, say "Sheet1", in cell "B9" on the master sheet, I want that sheet to become unhidden and to be named "Sheet1"

Change Color Of All Cells On Sheet Based Off Of One Cell Value

I want to change the fill color of all cells on my sheet, based on the value of one specific cell. In my sheet, I am using cell F1 as the trigger for the change. If the word Blue is in the cell, I want the background color of all cells to be Blue. Likewise for Red and Yellow as well. I don't believe conditional formatting can get this done, as all but the one cell (for this) will be empty.
