Hide Sheets Based On Sheet Tab Color
Feb 20, 2008I am making a new stock card system to keep track of stock at work for a new storeman working in my department. What I want to be able to do it hide/show sheets bases on their colour, the reason I want to do this is because I want the new storeman to be able colour code products and only show certain ones at any one time to stop him from having to sort through loads of sheets, but also for him to be able to add extra sheets and asign them a colour and not need me to modify code and put it into category X So in summary, I want code that will hide all sheets that colour is red or blue etc and not need updating when new sheets are added.

Dec 24, 2013I have a set of sheets on a workbook that contain addresses, which are all combined on the first sheet (as you can see in the attached file). I would like to use a formula to compare the addresses on the Main sheet with the other sheets, then return in the D column of Main a colored cell indicating on which sheet the address was found on; different colors for different sheets. I tried to figure out some conditional formatting, but to no avail. Also, on occasion I have spreadsheets with 5 or 6 sheets containing these mixed addresses. Is there a solution that won't be limited to just a few sheets for comparison?

Mar 20, 2014I have a large spreadsheet where I've successfully ranked a large series of data based on revenue, using product classification as a criteria & summarising this on another page with the top 20 products. The problem I'm having is that within certain criteria's I have some products with the exact same revenue figure, so if the 2nd ranked product within classification "C" for example has revenue of $100, & there's another product within the same classification also with $100 of revenue, on my top 20 report I have results for the 1st & 2nd ranked product, but a blank for the third product & then results again for the fourth

Everytime I open the file, my pivot tables will not refresh, because the source of the pivottable seems to update automatically to include the network drive name on them which somehow causes a problem. Is there anyway to solve this? I put a snippet of the source in the pivottable as an example.

Color Cell Fonts Based On Text Color Of TextBox Controls On UserForm

One of the action's on a large group of the controls is the same but except for one number
here is an example

This makes a cell that correlates to the textbox red if the text in the textbox is red.
Now, I loads of these textboxes that all need to run the same code with just the Offset value one digit higher than the last and I was hoping I could create a loop to avoid a huge block of code but I can't work out how to make a constant that will +1 with each loop.
Also, can I assume that a loop will start with the control with the lowest number i.e. Textbox1 and then work its way through the rest of them in order?

Jan 15, 2009I wrote a macro to color the cell values in the rows based on their average value. For eg if the cell value is less than 0.2 Avg, they should be red color,if value is between 0.2 and 0.5 it should be yellow. This part is working fine
Now based on the color of the rows cells , need to write a macro for the header one. Logic is Coloum header should be in red colour, if in one or more number of rows cells are red. same with yellow ones. Could you please help me out in solving this with logic.
Color Column Charts Based On Font Color Data Cells
Oct 27, 2009I have attached the relevant spreadsheet for which I need to alter the color of the columns based on Site number ( Sheet 1). % Mortality will be represented in the Y-Axis, and the Site numbers would be on the X-Axis. All columns (% Mortality) except one will be of the same color, and the one of a different color will indicate a specific site. As an example, site 86 is colored differently. The way I require the chart to look is shown on Sheet 1.
After reading through some great posts on Ozgrid, I managed to do this using conditional formatting (Sheet 2), but that sort of falls short because I am required to add a data table to the chart, and the parameter that is indicated by the column bars happens to appear twice in the data table.
I was wondering if this can be automated maybe using VBA, but with the possibility of simply matching the color of columns with the font color of respective entry in the data series.

Nov 1, 2009This is probably elementary, but I'm struggling and would appreciate any help as I have very little excel VBA experience to draw from.
I have assembled code which changes the cell color based on a value change in Column A. Column A will contain many different groups of repeating values. This code works well and and I have been able to figure out how to limit the number of colors to only 2. The end result is each set of similar values in column A is visually grouped by one of two alternating colors.
The number rows in the data set is variable as the data set is extracted from SAP. The number of columns is fixed.
What I want to do now is set the cell color in columns B through F the same color that was assigned to the row in column A. So if cell A3 is set to colorindex = 6, then I want to set the range of cells B3 to E3 to the same color.

Apr 18, 2008I have two columns. The first one (A) contains cells that have different Fill colors. The second column (B) contains text adjacent to the colored cells. I am trying to change the color of the text in the second column (B) to the corresponding color in the adjacent cell in the first column (A). I don't think conditional formating works well in this situation. I believe the solution would be some sort of macro.

On the clicking of a button, Select and shade in a cell yellow, delete the yellow shading of the previous cell. The shading & selection should move up a column of cells, 1 at a time, in the following order:
From B10 to B9, then B9 to B8, B8 to B7 etc until the selection and shading is at B2. Once it is at B2 subsequent clicks will simply keep it at B2 (the top). Thus after 8 clicks the shading & selection should travel from B10 to B2, with only 1 cell being shaded yellow and selected at any one time.

Jun 18, 2008I have a spreadsheet that i download from the net daily, which is seperated into columns of information.
I want to be able to look down a column and mark a cell in a seperate column if the cell font text is red.
For example looking down column A ... if the font text of a1 is red then mark the cell background colour of T1 red - if a2 text colour is red then mark the cell T2 red .... etc etc.
If the font colour in a1 or a2 ... etc etc is any other colour then do nothing.
I have 5 columns I wish to look down and mark in 5 seperate columns - I have tried to do this by conditional formating but don't know the fomula for checking font colour.

Dec 1, 2007I would like to have cells that conditionally format the font color in the cell based on the background color of the cell. Essentially I have a matrix with some cells highlighted in red, yellow, or orange. There are values in each cell of the matrix. If a value is 0 I want the font to be grey. If the value is NOT 0 AND the cell backgorund color is NOT white, I would like it black and bold. Is there any way to do this in excel or using VB?

Dec 22, 2009I'm using Excel 2007 and need some color help. I'm making a spreadsheet based on goals. Sheet 1 is the main sheet where every employee's progress is seen at once. Sheet 2, 3, 4 are my employee's individual pages where they log their progress. They simply fill a cell red if they've failed a goal, yellow if it's in progress, and green if they were successful.
If Jim fills cell E4 green on his individual sheet (Sheet 2), how can I make cell E4 on Sheet 1 turn green as well?

Coloured sheet as mentioned above.
Copy paste for each sheet name which will be around 25 times of the below code snippets but ofcourse change colour and change sheet names.

May 1, 2008I've seen a few threads on here about this issue but none of them do quite what I am looking for. I'd like for a single page "report" to be created when a user presses a button (which runs a macro, of course) The macro should be able to run through certain named sheets (even if hidden) and if a cell in any row is red within a sheet then the entire row or rows that meet the criteria should be copied and pasted into the Report sheet.
On the report sheet, for each sheet that has had rows that were copied, I'd like to have the name of the sheet as the header above the pasted rows so that the user knows which sheet the data came from. Any sheet that doesn't have red cells would be excluded from the report. I've attached a sample file but had to limit the number of sheets because of Orgrid's file size limit. Hopefully, you'll see what I am getting at here.

Jun 25, 2007I have a long standing problem, i need to use some code that will search a range of cells , say j1 to j15, for a text "ship", gather the value from the equivalent h column cell and then use that value in futher code to colour some cells. So if the value returned is say 5, then colour the next 5 columns from column A whenever "ship" is typed.

Counting Cells Based On Color

What I would like to do is create a column that will count the number of cells in each row whose background color is not red or yellow. The yellow background color was input manually, and the red background color was input through conditional formatting.
I have a spreadsheet full of GPS locations of different pumps on different dates. Each column represents a different pump, and each row represents a different date. The cells on this sheet contain one of two things - either a set GPS coordinates or the word "Repair" and a description of the repairs done. A few days ago I went through and checked the GPS coordinates to see which pumps were where every day during the past three years, and changed the background color of each cell containing GPS coordinates determined to be off-site to yellow. I then used conditional formatting to change the background color of each cell containing the word "Repair" to red. Now I need to go through and find out how many pumps were on location, not being repaired on each day.
Here's a link to a sample workbook. Any cell containing the word "GPS" just represents the fact that there are GPS coordinates in the cell. Their format is basically "(#####, #####)".

I have a tracking template to track the milestones of each data sets (received, etl complete, qa, live). In my status column I'm using the following IF formula to auto populate the the status:
=IF(ISBLANK(F3),"Waiting",IF(ISBLANK(G3),"Received",IF(ISBLANK(H3),"ETL Complete",IF(ISBLANK(L3),"QA","Complete"))))
However, I need to now start putting expected dates for these milestones in a grey text for each status. So none of the cells for the above formula will be blank. Is there a way to say if the text is grey, to ignore the date to auto populate the status column based on the black text that is available?
