Highlight Row Based On Next Date In Table?
Aug 19, 2014I'm trying to determine the next upcoming date in a table and highlight that cell's entire row.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to determine the next upcoming date in a table and highlight that cell's entire row.
View 1 RepliesI've used conditional formatting to highlight dates which are due this week and next week, but now I need to highlight which dates are overdue.
Each row is a task/job.
I have a 'Due Date' column.
I also have a 'Date Completed' column.
How do I highlight the overdue dates based on their due date (not today's date)?
And once I have entered a date in the 'Date Completed' column, I need the overdue highlight to be removed.
Not very good at this but I have the basic sheet attached. All I want is a way to highlight the first cell when the date is within 30 days of the "Due date".
Calibration Record-example.xls
I looked around at some date functions and could not find one to work.
I have a sheet that has 365 days. When I load the sheet I want to cell for today to be highlighted in some way..... color or just active.
If date = 05-10-2007 then
BackgroundColor = 17
else
BackgroundColor = 9
end if
I want to highlight an entire column based on whether a cell in that column is equal to today's date.
I know how to write a loop that cycles through all of the columns until it finds today's date and then modify the column's properties, I was wondering if there was an easier way to do it. Also, I want the highlighting to be temporary meaning it should not save.
how to make a cell to change color oatomatically accordant to Year and Month reflexted already in the cell. I have a spreadsheet with Names,Surnames,DOB and also a column that is given the AGE years months and days.
If somebody reaches 21 -1 -2 -3 months this should show different colors in the persons row in a particular column. The function used for the AGE is fund on ozgrid.com: =DATEDIF(H4,TODAY(),"y")&" years "&DATEDIF(H4,TODAY(),"ym")&" months "&DATEDIF(H4,TODAY(),"md")&" days"
In column A, I have dates; In column b i have security levels. I have made a table called "Security" it contains to columns, a list of security levels and no of years when each security level is required to be reviewed. the table is setup -
d1 e1
Restricted 5
etc
Example of data
ie.
a1 b1 c1
Restricted 1/06/2012 1/06/2017
What I am looking for is a formula to look up a1 "restricted". then lookup the security table and find "restricted" its value is 5 (years) then add the 5 years to date in b1, but place it in c1.
I have an 'existing results table' as per my attached sample.
I have had help previously from this forum to create lists of 'sold' stock within date ranges (tax year periods) and these are represented as 'sold list' in my attached sample.
I now need to create a list of 'unsold stock' for each annual tax year end date; i.e. populate my table with items that have been created before the end of the date range and that have not been sold by the end of the date range.
Please can someone show me the formula on my attached sample?
Please see my example in red.
I am working with Excel07 however my attached sample is in Excel03 because I couldn't upload an XLSX file.
I have a table, which is a price list, with different prices based on different dates. For instance, the dates may be 1/1/04, 6/1/04, 7/1/04, 10/30/04, etc. I have some dates in another table, for instance, 2/2/04, 7/5/04, 12/20/04, etc. I want to lookup the date closest to, but not greater than, the last previous date posted. So, for the first date of 2/2/04, you would use the column with date 1/1/04 from the first paragraph. For a date of 7/5/04, you would use the column with date of 7/1/04. I think this is a simple VLOOKUP function, but not sure how to do a date compare. Also, the lookup has to do two things. First, it has to find the part number in the table, and then match it do the respective most recent date.
Table setup:
Part Number ---- Date
5555555555 ---- 7/5/04
Lookup table:
Part Number ---- 1/1/04 ---- 6/1/04 ---- 7/1/04
5555555555 ---- $65.32 ---- $68.52 ---- $71.52
I want to grab the price with the respective date from the first table. In this case, it would grab the price of $71.52 from the lookup table.
I have looked at the below Hide/Show Pivot Table Field Items help web pages:
Hide/Show Pivot Table Field Items
Hide Pivot Table Fields Pivot Items by Criteria
I am trying to use the above, but with dates in the following format in each cell:
YYYYMM
200612
200701
200702
200703
200704
200705
200706
etc, etc
The below code is working for >200702 and removes all years/months prior to this entered value. Unfortunately the code does not work when a user enters <200706, instead the code goes through to the “NonValidCriteria” prompt.
Sub HideByCriteriaYYYYMM()
'Declare variables
'SEE: [url]
'SEE: [url]
Dim pt As PivotTable, pi As PivotItem
Dim lMonth As Long
Dim strCri As String, strCri1 As String, strCri2 As String
Dim bHide As Boolean
Dim xlCalc As XlCalculation
i need VB to select the start date of booking and autohighlights the "blank booking slot cells" until the end date that is input in Excel. You can visualise this as a room booking system. The left most column is the dates and the first row represents the different rooms type. E.g. if one guest books the Twin Deluxe No. 123 room on 23 Oct 2006 until 25 Oct 2006. We wish the VB can essentially help us identify the start date then begins highlighting the three slots for 23, 24 and 25 Oct on the column for the Twin Deluxe Room 123.
View 4 Replies View Relatedhow I can create a formula that would highlight the cell in a colour if the date was past todays date? This is what I'm doing - I have the expiry date of people's insurances. so e.g todays date is 8 th January, so if the insurance had expired 31.12.08, i would want the cell to be highlighted red. I think it may be an IF function but I cant remember.

What I would like is for each new row to be entered the number of row is automatically displayed and for the contents of this row to be either in a different coloured font or have a coloured pattern.
I would also like that at the end of each row completed a command button is pressed to return the cursor to the new row and provide the above. Ideally, the row just completed should return back to a normal coloured font or have the pattern removed.
I presume this would require nested if statements within the command button but unfortunately its far too complicated for my excel skills.
PART 1
- A record is created
- The record is modified once/several times
- Only the original record and the last modified record needs to be kept
PART 2
- The differences between the original and the last record need to be highlighted in the spreadsheet.
- This has to be repeated for a whole bunch of rows
Currently I am manually deleting the rows and eye-balling the changes. I'm using Excel 2002. I have ASAP Utitilities as well. Although macros are cool, I was hoping I could try with an Add-in or software.
I made a speard heet with the days of the month on top. Each number in its own cell.

I have data going in to a small table which has some empty rows as that data is not yet available... My problem is, I need to sort this table in date order but with the date nearest to today's date at the top...
The sort function puts oldest at the top or oldest at the bottom which is no good for what I need...
I use xl 2003.
is there any way that i can match the date in a data and apply a color if match?
sample: column a2: 11/5/09 $15.00
column b2: 11/5/09 house $15.00 -> then the column B2 must be filled with color because they have the same date with the column a2.
I am new to excel and need a formula for conditional formatting. In E1 I will be putting a date for the month and in cell J1 I want it to highlight green if there is a date in E1 and if there is nothing in E1 I want it to be red.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using Excel 2010. I have a pivot table where I want to highlight the ENTIRE row where a certain cell value equals something.
In essence I want all the Material Subtotal Rows highlighted "Orange" But as you can tell from the picture below I am having issues with the Body of the Pivot table. I have the formula checking to find whenever it finds the word total to highlight it.
The example below is showing how I need the row to be formatted. I can get the Data (Units) section formatted no problem. It is just the other part of the pivot table that I cannot format.
For the columns from Material to SAP # I have been trying to use Dynamic Name ranges using the Offset function. However, excel turns that Name range to a range and if I filter the pivot table, it adds extra ranges to the Applies to box and starts to really mess it up.

I have a spreadsheet that has the month's dates spanning from B2 to AE2. I would like to use conditional formatting to change the background colour of the column with YESTERDAY's date in it.
I have successfully applied a rule that changes the background colour of the column with TODAY's date, using =A$2=TODAY()
I've tried swapping TODAY for YESTERDAY within the formula, hoping it would be that simple, but it doesn't work.
Is there a way to get the formula to look for yesterday's date?
