I have two text boxes on a userform that are used to populate a label caption based on the textbox values. How do I set the label caption to update once a a textbox value is changed?

As an aid, I have a label at the bottom of the form and when a person tabs onto a textbox that labels then states what you are supposed to input into that textbox along with an example. When you tab onto another textbox the caption on the label changes to give another explanation and example.
I attempted to insert an if statement into the userform which states that if a textbox is enabled then the caption of the label = "Example"
If textbox1.enabled = True Then label1.caption = "Explanation 1, Example 1"
If textbox2.enabled = True Then label1.caption = "Explanation 2, Example 2"

I need to write some code to update a label everytime the textbox data is edited. I have this code so far but it is returning an object error. NineV refers to the text box and and ninelabel refers to the label. This is the code:

I created a userform where if a value from cell x is true then the label caption changes to value in cell z. While everything works fine, the label caption does not seem to appear in my userform until i click on the label. Is there anyway that it can appear automatically once the userform opens?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI present a form (a calendar) twice in my routine to the user but I want to change the Caption of the Label on each pass?
e.g.
The first time it's displayed: 'Please select a start date' (calendar closes & goes off and does stuff)
... and on the 2nd display: 'Please select an end date'.
Is it possible to load an image into a label and have the caption for the label be visible too? I've only been successful having one or the other display but not both.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI needed to put a Checkbox on a Worksheet. The standard Checkbox options in Excel FormControl and ActiveX Control were too small. I found a work-around using the following macro attached to an ActiveX Label that was formatted as Wingdings font. The macro basically changes the character from a empty box Wingdings Chr(168) to a checked box Wingdings Chr(254) when the user clicks on the label.

But I get this error on an ErrorHandler that I have included in the macro. "An error has occurred. Error number =438. Error Description=Object doesn't support this property or method."
its possible to convert a blank string on a label into an integer? My form loads and populates a label.caption with the value of the activecell.value. Sometimes the activecell.value is empty and sometimes has a number in it. I need to do a calculation (label.caption * 2) but if the label.caption is empty it throws an error. I need it to treat an empty label as zero.

I have a listbox that is currently populated via the following code, designed to give a unique list with no repeats.

This code works fine. NOW, what I need to do, is set individual labels, based on the values in the listbox, BUT, here is the kicker - I don't want to select any of the listbox values. I know there will be seven rows in the listbox that correspond with seven labels.
What I nede to do, is set the first label.caption as the first row in the listbox. The second label as the second row, etc. The listbox only has one column, and I have tried the following code, but it doesnt work.

I know i can set it up with a helper cell to have the textbox reference a range (that updates with the text i want) but i'd to try and edit the text without the use of helper cells to try and make this a little more break resistant.
I have a workbook with 31 sheets. Each sheet has 15 textbox button that call macros.
I would like to hide 1 textbox on all sheets until another macro is called. I know how to get the textbox names to be able to hide them, But because these text boxes were copied most of the are the same name, however on severl sheets they are different names "Textbox 4 on most sheets but it could be textbox 34 on others. The ones I want to hide all have the same text label. Is it possible to get VBA to return the label text.
I am wanting this work book to do is have a table of categories update automatically when a category is selected in the "category column". The 3rd cell to the left of the category column "Gross column" is where the data is which needs to be sent to the corresponding category in the table and utomatically update. The intention is that as you hit the revise button it creates a virtually identical sheet, renaming it as a copy in the same workbook, clearing certain fields...etc...I then have it "lock/protect" the previous revision sheet so the history can't easily be corrupted. Everything works with the exception of the forms textbox...it won't lock (more to the point I can't figure out how to lock it). Can you protect a forms textbox even?

I have Copied and Pasted Special link so that its connected but when ever a change is made in Excel in powerpoint I get a pop up box saying I need to press update. But I want to bypass the pop up update box and have it so that powerpoint automatically updates when I change something in Excel.

I have 3 pivot tables on the same page - they all have the same PAGE and ROW fields, just different column and data fields. (may seem weird, but I'm producing reports for non-Excel people and this seems the only way to display info in user-friendly way).
Problem: If a user changes the selection in a Page field, I need the other 2 pivot tables to automatically select the same Page field, so the pivot tables are still all like-for-like.
I've started writing a macro which I can run to do this - below - but
1) I need it to run automatically when any of the page or row fields are updated
2) my macro is probably far too basic for my needs - one of the page fields has 245 values, so the below isn't really going to cut it!...
