I want to find a content of ActiveCell only in column "C", beginning from cell C4.What must be in Look in, and Look at?How to accomplish to match whole number,ex. "1" in cell with "1",no to find "1" in "123"
This function searches in whole sheet,but i need only in C column!

I am trying to code a macro that will search through a selected range of cells for key letters, for instance this cell may contain any combination of B, C, Te, Tc, RH, or LH. I would preferably like to search with capitalization being a factor but it is not a deal breaker. Below is a sample of what i have if the cell has a B, C it works for B but ignores the C i need it t o recognize both.

I' having trouble using the =IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH formula to search multiple cells.
I can get it to work to search one cell (as below):
=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("Same",G10)),"No Change",'Aug 09 Matrix'!F10)
(In this case the respone is No Change as Cell G10 contains "Same")
However cannot get it to work for several cells. I have pasted below and highlighted the function I would like it to perform:
=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("Same",G10:R10)),"No Change",'Aug 09 Matrix'!F10)
Essentially the other cells in that row (G10:R10) all contain "Same", however for some reason it is identifying this as FALSE and putting in the data from the 'Aug 09 Matrix' sheet.

I have a number of worksheets with data in various rows, all rows of data have UID's. I want to create a search function, which returns the location of the of the UID. Or better still the cursor will jump to the cell where the UID is located. It's very much like the way the 'Find & Replace' function works.
E.g. If I type the UID of 1234 into cell A1 I want to be able to press a 'Find' button (which will be located alongside cell A1) that will search the entire workbook for 1234.

I am currently using the simple code block below to jump to a cell on another sheet based on a user-inputted value to a cell on the current sheet. Although jump is too strong a word at the moment...walk slowly might be more appropriate.
The problem is that the sheet that contains the target cell hosts a very sizable used range and the FIND function can sometimes take almost a minute before finding and focussing on the required cell.
While I do not believe that a search range below that of sheet level for the FIND() function is possible, the cell that I am looking to jump to resides in a one-column, sorted, dynamic named range (=Bookings!JobID) on the target sheet, so I am sure that it must be possible to find and go the target cell in a much quicker timeframe than that being delivered at the moment. Just can't find something suitable at the moment.

I am new to VBA and am having difficulties in getting a find function to successfully locate search criteria within cell. When the search criteria matches exactly that of the cell contents then the code works; however should the search criteria only form part of the total cell contents (such as a seach for "the" in a cell containing "the cat sat on the mat") the code doesn't recognise it.
Essentially, I need the code to search a range for the required string and if found within a cell activate that cell and populate a combobox with the full cell contents of the activecell.offset(0,-2).

use the VLOOKUP function when the column I need to search is not column A?
I have a Workbook with two worksheets in it and in Sheet 1 I have 10 columns of various text and numbers. In cell A1 of sheet 2 I will fill with a certain code that appears in column E in Sheet 1. The result I would be looking for should come from Column A in Sheet 1. I thought that the following would work copied into B1 of Sheet 2 but it doesn't appear to - =VLOOKUP($A1,'Sheet 1'!E$1:$E$481,1,FALSE).

I am trying to search for a phrase in a particular column but the excel search function is returning !Value as an error...
Both fields are text so nit sure what is wrong here.
I have a list of cities that i want to cross reference across a cloumn of notes on another sheet. So, I really want to search for the city (Sheet1 Cell A1) in Notes Sheet2 Cell A1) and I want to return it in Sheet1 Cell B1 Whether it exisits in the notes. I then want to copy this down my list of cities in Sheet1 Column a.

I'd like to search for text and get the column character where the cell with the found text. The combination the two 'demands'/formulae into one are giving me problems. And the fact that the column character can exist out of two characters I cannot solve.
I can get the column number with HLookup right? and it gives me the column number, not the character. I can solve this partially (and ugly even more) with =Char(((Hlookup etc)+64 (letter before A))).

I have a column with values like this

I use this line of code to determine the text
Set rFound = Sheets("ProductCount").Rows(14). Find(What:=sProduct, LookIn:=xlValues, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext)
ProdRow = rFound.Column
where sProduct contains values such as SW , CO. Now, when I use rFound to query SW, it finde me this first occuring SW. I have this inside a for loop. When it goes and queries again, it should get me the next occuring SW, not the first SW that it searched for me.

The code below will locate and select cells containing Kenny. What I want to do is create a little search cells(C5) on my spreadsheet and have the code reference whatever is typed into the search cell. I'm sure it's a simple adjustment. I've tried changing the What:="Kenny" to What:="=C5" & What:=C5 all without success.

I want to create a user defined function to search a column of data for a part number.
If it exists I want to have a the UDf returna "fail" otherwise "pass"
Here is the code I was trying to use

I am building a Workbook which takes data from SheetA and inserts it into SheetB.
Part of the data is only entered when a positive value exists.
I then do an export from SheetB.
The problem is that I need to get the column number and pass it to the cell reference based on the field name in row 1.

I have been using a macro to search and highlight customer addresses for me, however I have changed my worksheet and now have the addresses in two columns instead of one (D for the numbers, E for street names) for sorting purposes.
What I would like to do is either; find a way to search using data from 2 cells to get a result, or have multiple results highlight and popup.

I need to build an if statement around whether or not two blank cells in a row are found in column A moving down from A1
The two blank cells will be between cells that contain data (so no I am not looking for the last cells in the column, matter of fact, the if statement cannot be true based on two blank cells at the end of the column, only inbetween data)

I'm trying to find a way to search a second sheet in a workbook for specific criteria outlined in a first sheet (in my attached example, from A3 downwards within the 'list of search criteria' sheet), and then to copy any secondary data found against a successful search match to the original sheet, transposed against its corresponding matched search term.
As you can see in the example, the search term 'bindi' (A4 in the 'list of search criteria' sheet) appears in the 'data' sheet 3 times - the secondary data for these occurences ('feathery', 'Fibonacci', 'glassy') is copied to the 'bindi' row on the first sheet and is offset with each copy to produce a transposed-esque effect of copy and paste.
If it's any help, there are a maximum of 9 matches for a single search term in the real document.
Thanks in advance for your help... I tried to adapt a previous solution given to me for a similar question but failed miserably. I bow humbly to your expertise!

I have a database with over 100 products listed across the first row.
Column a has a list of over 500 projects. Across each project various columns are marked with a number depending on how many of each products are being used on that project.
For Example
A B C D E etc.
Products --> X Y Z AA
Proj 1 2 3
Proj 2 1 4 5
Proj 3 2 4
etc.
I want to be able to create a report for any given product.
The report could look like,
Product Z
Proj 1 3
Proj 3 2
So I need to lookup the product code across row 1 and determine the column number and then INDEX down that column and find all non blank cells and read the project names from column A.
I am familiar with formulas with INDEX and V/H LOOKUP functions. I am not very good with VBA codes.

Using the search macro code below, could someone please help to add in more codes what I'm currently using, and also where to insert it. The Search function works well for what I need and it helps me to locate data. I'm from Bavaria, Germany. Right now, I am doing an internship for my studies. my problem: I need a search procedure which shows an Input Box where you can enter a word to search for. It should work like the original Excel search (Ctrl-F), but with a simpler design, like with my own Text "Enter your Query" and a Button "Submit Query" / "Quit search". Is there the possibility to Highlight the Search Target? The problem hereby is that this highlighting should not be permanent. That means the user sees the target for which he searched for, the cell highlighted in a different color, etc. But as soon as the user clicks onto another cell, etc., the highlighting vanishes. If there is no fitting match, there should be a MessageBox like "Sorry the Target xyz cannot be found"

I have created a calculated column in PowerPivot and inserted a formula that worked in a normal excel spreadsheet however, this formula does not work in PP anymore.
=find("green",Table1[Name],1)
Name column:
NAME: Bag green
it should find "green" in the name and return the position. Hoever it alway returns the error, that the find function could not find the string.I have attached an example spreadsheet.
