# Inserting A Numerical 1 Or 0 Into A Cell Depending On The Values Of Two Other Cells

I'd like help writing a single formula that assigns either a numerical 1 or 0 to a cell based on values from two other cells.

By way of background, I'm working with three columns. Cells in column F contains values from 1 to 4. Cells in column G contain values from 5 to 11. Cells in column H are currently blank.

I need a single formula that will insert either a numerical 1 or a 0 into column H according to the following conditions.If F3 = 1 and G3 = 5 or 6 or 7 then let H3=1 otherwise let H3=0

If F3 = 2 and G3 = 7 or 8 or 9 then let H3=1 otherwise let H3=0

If F3 = 3 and G3 = 9 or 10 or 11 then let H3=1 otherwise let H3=0

If F3 = 4 and G3 = 9 or 10 or 11 then let H3=1 otherwise let H3=0

I have the names of companies in one column, and the amount they owe in cells in the column beside them. I then have a second list of companies that is a subset of the first. Is there a formula that would place the amount they owe in teh corresponding cell adjacent to the compny in the second list? I've attached a sample workbook, Full Company List in column A, amount owing in B, trimmed down list in D and ideally I'd like the corresponding values in E.

In what would be Cell E2 I want to post the Total posted set Assuming that the Order Numbers and the OP Numbers are the Same, but only if there is a value in the allowed set, So I'd expect E2 in the case below to read 1.83,

Is anyone aware of some way to use the " dynamic named range approach" to only select the cells with numerical values in a column and name this range?

I've looked at the examples on this site but can't find any solution to this particular problem although I have a feeling that this should be possible.

I am trying to determine Long Term Gain (LTG,) Long Term Loss (LTL,) Short Term Gain (STG,) Short term Loss (STL,) or No Loss nor Gain (NGL)testing two cells (A1 and B1)and setting a third cell (C1) to the text LTG, LTL, STG, STL, or NGL depending on the results of testing cells A1 and B1.

A1 represent a number of years and B1 represent gains or losses (negative)in dolars.

The way I see the logic is as follows:

If cell A1 or cell B1 are either one of them equal to 0, then it is neither a Gain nor a Loss (NGL.)

If cell A1 is greater than or equal to 1, then it is Long Term; else, if A1 is greater than 0 and less than 1, then it is Short Term.

On the other hand, if cell B1 is greater than 0, then it is a Gain; if B1 is less than 0 (a negative number,) then, it is a Loss.

I need to find (if it is posible in Excel) one formula to test the two cells for posible outcomes:

If A1 = 0 then C1 = NGL

If B1 = 0 then C1 = NGL

If A1 >= 1 and B1 > 0 the C1 = LTG.

If A1 >= 1 and B1 < 0 the C1 = LTL.

If A1 < 1 and B1 > 0 then C1 = STG

If A1 < 1 and B1 < 0 then C1 = STL

request:

in (B2) only first value so 350,23 multiply (x) by fixed number &in (C2) only second value so 25,59 multiply (x) by fixed number

how to insert the value of a single cell into a text box... is it possible to insert a range of cells into a text box, and keep the same formatting, spacing, control boxes etc?

Reason behind this:

I have some information in a range of cells, let's say A10:D20 and I want to have a nice fill colour for that range... my thoughts were to copy this data into a text box, and use the fill properties to make it look pretty. but I've found that I can't do that..

My next attempt was to set the transparency of the text box to 100%, put some fill in it with a nice orange colour, and place the text box over the cells I wanted to look pretty... When I did this, it worked ok for the cells in the lighter portion of the colour, but when the colour became darker it would block the cell data underneath it...

Does anyone know the code to send an email to a set list of six recipients when cells in a certain column in a worksheet reach a certain value greater than another. Let me explain a little - The action to be performed is date-based.

For Example:

When the date cell L2 is 30 days later than the date in K2, send an email with subject containing data from cells B2 and C3.

However, this has to work for columns K and L in their entirety, as both columns contain a list of dates...

Depending upon a figure entered e.g. = $ 895.00 and also Depending upon a state being entered e.g. = NSW. Then Excel will lookup a series of cells to produce the correct figure depending upon the correct data ciritera being met. I have a data table sitting behind the spreadsheet with all relevant values.

SheetMonth.Range("B3:W172") is a range in the sheet SheetMonth which is fixed

The error message I receive is the following: "Run-time error 13, Type mismatch"

I precise that the next step is to make the ",6," part in the vlookup formula also variable... but I guess once my current issue is solved this one will be a piece of cake.

I want to change the colour of a cell depending on its value, when compared to another row of data identiified by a value in another cell. To try an clarify:

b3 = 1 b5=4 Because b3 = 1 then compare cell b5 with the row g1 as b3=g1 then depending on its postion set a colour

g1= 1 g2:g5 = 2,3,4,5,6

I need a macro that will "examine" the text of column B for every row checking to see if the text "Proper Text" is in the cell and if not, execute this code for that cell and then move on to perfrom the same until it finds an empty cell:

Have a spreadsheet shows 4000 warehouse locations (location of products). Each cell is a location in the warehouse (ba050, ca809, etc, actual warehouse locations, not grid ref); some products have more than one location, the locations are always next to each other. I import a text file into the workbook which tells me which product has more than one location (2, 10, 50, etc), that’s all I’m interested in ( multiple locations).

What I’ve done so far is to use vlookup to look at locations in file and allocated the number (the number of locations that product has) next (next column) to the cell that correspond to that location. What I need is a macro or formula that will look at the number and than highlight that many cells up or down the column, according to the number in the cell to the right (5 in cell, highlight 5 cells, 50 highlights 50). The warehouse runs up one aisle and then down the next and so on. So I need to be able to highlight cells up one column and then down the next and then up, then down and so on.

Multiple locations change on a daily bases, so need a quick way of updating 4000 locations.

New to excel don’t know if this is possible or not. Learning as I go.

Need some assistance.

Sample below.

Only interested if a number is returned, “******” can be ignored as will hide all columns expect ones with locations. So:

BA020 returned value of 4, so would like to highlight (any colour) BA020, BA029, BA040, BA049.

BB780 returned value of 2, so would like to highlight BB780, BB789.

I'd like to lock some cells depending on what is put in a particular cell. As shown by the file attached, if the first column (Amendments) has a "no" in A4, I'd like to lock out cells B4:D4. (The sheet will be protected). If it's a "yes" then the cells are unlocked. I'd like to then apply this to all subsequent rows (i.e. lock B5:D5 if a "no" in A5 etc.)

How to a change a cell colour to say red in B6 if cell b12 = 1 and if e6 = 1 to change to green. I thought I might be able to use conditional formatiing but no. I had set the spread sheet to do a cell just for a condition representing a sum from another worksheet and it was working fine but i have to incorporate the two together and am stock.

so if a1 ="alert" make A1 to A4 red

if a1="passed" make a1 to a4 green... and so on

i cant used conitional formatting as i need more than 3 colours

Afternoon everyone i am having abit of trouble working on an excel 2007 spreadsheet. In cell I1 i have a tab called Color. i want the cells below I1 to be filled with one of 3 colors green, yellow, or red depending on whats in cell F "Status" (closed or open - in progress) and cell G ECD for estimated completion date.

Green - i need it to fill green if status is closed. Yellow - need it to fill yellow if ECD is any date greater than today and if status is open. Red - need it to fill red if ECD is todays date or older and status is open.

creating functions in excel and would like to hire someone who can assist me in creating the following functions: Column A (For Numerical Values Less Than or = to 100): Column B Value should be (+10)

Example 1: If a numerical value of 90 is placed in Column A then Column B Numerical Auto Value should be 80+10 (190). Example 2: If a numerical value of 35 is placed in column A then Column B Numerical Auto Value should be 35+10 (45) and so on. Another important point is that if the values in column A are copy and pasted Column B should automatically discharge the values visibly as the examples stated above is this possible? If not i'll need to have this done.

Also there are other numerical values that must be added in Column A (basically for every increase in numerical value of 100 there are to be different numerical plus factors in accordance to Column A). Column A (For Numerical Values greater than 100 but less than 200): Column B Value should be (+15).......

I've got a series of values in a column as follows:

10 Mb

10 Mb

1000 Mb

1000 Mb

114 Mb

128 Mb

128 Mb

Obviously 1000 mb is more than 10 mb, but it sorts as second in the list

because it starts with a "1". How do I tell Excel to sort by the entire

numerical value instead of the first number?
