Isolate To Matches Of Name Then Find All Instances Of That Name Whose Values Fall Within Range

In my workbook I have two tabs, the first tab is intended to call on data located on the second tab so I can evaluate & Display it in different ways. Here's what's worked so far. Where I'm stuck is attempts to try and combine the two.
- the second tab is named AW_Items_Import
Examples:
1) Looking on the second tab to count the number of times a object (identified on the first tab in Cell B13) appears
=COUNTIF(AW_Items_Import!J:J,B13)
2) Looking on the second tab for items that fall within a set value range, the ranges specified on the first tab in cells C14 and E14
=COUNTIF(AW_Items_Import!G:G,">=" & C14) - COUNTIF(AW_Items_Import!G:G,">" & E14)
What I want to do, is combine 1) and 2) so I can isolate a search to a name specified on the first tab, THEN count the number of times that item falls within a set range, the range also specified on the first tab.

I need to keep track of tardy occurences, but I only have to consider occurrences that have occurred in the past six months from the current day. Column A contains the names of the employees, Column C thru IV contains daily dates beginning with 1/1/2007. Column B contains a CountIf function to count the number of times T appears in columns c - iv.

Any method to determine the number of instances a value ("4" for example) appears next to a specific value ("x" for example). I don't have a workbook; I'm just looking for any formula that can search for specific values and find the total number of instances that an adjoining cell contains data.

The objective of the code is to determine if a value in Column A exists:
- If it does, then copy data from a different worksheet into the row of the worksheet where the value resides
- if it doesnt, then go to the last used row in Column A and add then copy data from a different worksheet into the new row
The portion of the code im having trouble with involves the Finding of the value in Column A, and also the error handling when it doesnt find it.
The code below doesn't handle the error correctly.. for the data set im running the code on, it should find a value in Column A (which it does) but then it also runs the ErrHandler portion..which shouldnt happen.. it should only run the ErrHandler portion if it cant find the value in Column A (which therefore means a new record is required)
Sub UpdateRecords()
Dim fitem As String
Dim nmax As Integer
Dim nRow As Integer
Dim rFoundCell As Range
nRow = 10
nmax = Sheets("Availability").Range("schedulechange").Rows.count
Do While nRow <= nmax ....................

I have a worksheet that tracks errors (10 different error types are tracked) that may occur on anywhere from 20 to 200 different jobs. What I need to be able to do is find all the jobs for any given day where a specific error has occurred two or more times for that day. Often a specific error will occured many times on the same job on the same day. What I need to end up with is only one row for each job that shows the Date/Time (m/d/yyy h:nn), JobNumber (number), ErrorNumber (text field) by either hiding or deleting those rows that do not meet the criteria.

I am not even sure if what I need is a possibility with excel. I need to "find" specific information and the amount of time that is attributed to it. All of the information is provided via drop down box (times as well) in daily segments then grouped by two week (bi-monthly) chunks and have the total times for each information type placed elsewhere. There are notes placed in the excel file to the right of the information you will see when first opening the file.

In my spreadsheet, on the first worksheet called "Working". Column A, called "Results", contains carrot ^ delineated string values in each cell (i.e."john^apple^pear^banana^grape^love^heart^pickle"). The majority of string values in every cell in my "Results" column match a "source" column of Pick-List Values, called "Fruits" in the same spreadsheet, however found in a different worksheet called "Lists" (also in Column A). I want to perform 3 functions against my "Results" Column on worksheet "Working":
1.) Report In Column B: Analyze column "Results" by cell and return carrot delineated string values for only those that match my "Fruits" Pick-List
2.) Report In Column C: Analyze column "Results" by cell and return carrot delineated string values for only those do not match my "Fruits" Pick-List
3.) Report In Column D: Identify and return all unique values in "Column C" as a List.
Attached is a simple example of what I'm trying to accomplish called " Sorting.xls"

I got this problem I can’t solve, maybe it is easy to solve, but I am fairly new to writing functions in excel.
I got a lot of different dates in single column, what I need is to pull the dates if they fall in to the range, from today till 30 days from now.
I understand it calls for array formula.

I want to use a COUNTIF to return the sum of all the dates that fall within a given month/year. For example: E1 Contains the date July-2009
Column A has date entries such as July 3, 2009, July 18, 2009, August 4 2009. In F1 I want to return the sum of all dates that fall within the month of E1.

I have four different sheets with email addresses in an excel file. There are some email addresses which are present in more than one sheet. I wanted to find these email addresses and remove its multiple instances.
I can't use the simplified version of vlookup, as I can't enter each email address to see if there is another instance.
Is there a way where the excel sheet can search within itself for duplicate values and if not delete/at least point them out, so that I can delete them manually?

I'm needing a formula that will determine the number of days that fall in a specific month based on a date range. For example, if I have a date range of 10/15/2009 to 01/13/2009, I need the formula to determine the number of days in each month within the range (October has 15 days in the date range; November has 30, December has 31, and January has 13.) I have a large spreadsheet that would be so much easier to manage with such a formula. Currently, my spreadsheet is setup as follows. I need the forumla automatically fill in the number of days under each month.
Stard Date End Date Oct-09 Nov-09 Jan-10 Feb-10
10/15/2009 01/13/2009

I'm trying to purge down a file that has 60k + rows. Lets say i want to see all the people and all their roles if they are in "PROGRAMMER_ANALYST" role...can this be done by macros? or formula?

I have an input sheet with 3 columns: Currency pair, Tenors, and Value.
Like this:
EURUSD 1m 3
EURUSD 3m 0
EURUSD 1y 5
GBPUSD 1w 2
GBPUSD 1m 9
GBPUSD 2m 1
etc etc for about 100+ rows.
This input is exported from a system we have and may vary in length and values from time to time.
What I want to do is pull all the data for specific currency pairs (probably for 5 of the 10+ currency pairs it displays) onto another worksheet. And for each tenor for that currency pair, i want to perform 10-20 lines of analysis on the next sheet.
So, if GBPUSD was a currency pair I was interested in, I would need 10-20 lines for GBPUSD 1w, 10-20 lines for GBPUSD 1m, 10-20 lines for GBPUSD 2m, etc.
How can I pull this? While maintaining flexibility so if the tenors, currencies, and # of lines change?

If Not cell Is Nothing Then
For l = cell.Row To cell.Row + numrows
Range("A" & l).EntireRow.delete
Next l
End If

I am trying to write a formula which finds the last instance of a number greater than 30 in a column (B). The values are not sorted from smallest to largest as they correspond to a time series (A) which needs to be preserved. Ultimately, I want the formula to return the time at which this value occurs, but I think I can do that bit using INDEX
I have a formula to give the first instance (row number) of a number above 30, which seems to work, but beacuse I don't fully understand how it works I can't modify it to give the last instance. The formula is:
=MATCH(1,INDEX(--(B2:B883>=30),0),0)
Having only just learnt how to use MATCH and INDEX, I thought each should have 3 arguments, so I'm confused about how the 4 arguments here work. Also I can't find much on using logic functions within INDEX. Can someone explain this formula, and suggest how I might go about finding the last instance please?

I have a sheet where in one column, the word "high" will be repeated. I need to find these multiples and then list down in a seperate column the text relevant to each of those multiples (contained in an adjacent cell). I.e if A1 & A3 hold the text "high", take the corresponding values in b1 & B3 and list them in new column C (C1 & C2 continuing in sequential order). I have searched the forums but i can' t seem to find anything.

The problem - I'm trying to find a formula that will find text between 2 characters with unlimited instances in a single string and combine the found text to a single string. The character enclosing the text i'm after will likely be a % symbol. This formula would then be replicated down 5000-10000 rows.
eg. 1 - This is %an% example %sentence% to show what I %am% looking for
eg. 2 - This %is another% example of what I %need%
eg. 1 answer - ansentenceam
eg. 2 answer - is anotherneed
Ideally this would not use a macro as it will be applied to an ever expanding data set but I realize that may not be possible.

I have a looping dilemma. I update daily stock information to a table. Column A is the symbol. There are repeats of the symbol, which is what I'm looking for to start running functions/ alerts on them based on criteria etc. Anyway. I'm trying to loop through to look for new instances of symbol values, or, values in column A. What I've tried to do so far experimentally is to get a symbol value to be counted from an input box, then find a matching value in the range. It's below, not working:
Sub NewSymbolAdd()
'This is the macro that will loop through the symbols column of the master list to see if the new data downloads are new/
'need to be set up to download daily pricing data or ignore if that sheet already exists.
Dim symb As String
Dim finalrow As Long
Dim count As Long
Dim countsymb As Long
'Find the range size.
Worksheets("Watch List Main").Activate
finalrow = Cells(Rows.count, 1).End(xlUp).Row.........

I am trying to count the instances of a certain text in a range across 2 columns.
so lets say I have the word Dog in A1, A2, A3, A4 & B1, B2, B3, B4. I am look for the number beside each cell to say 1, 2, 3, 4 instead of summing the whole range.
I have tried the array formula of {=SUM(IF(C:D=C2,1,0))}. However this does just bring back the sum of the instances and I am clueles on how to get it to show the first instance, the second etc.

I'm looking for a macro to basically produce me a list of shop names on one sheet with their appropriate sales information. Bascially, i have 4 sheets one for each week of the month, with all the sales info for various shops. Each sheet will list the same shop about 10 times as they make numerous transactions so each one is listed. The list on each of the 4 sheets can be any length and will change week to week depending on how many sales there are.
What i want is to find shops that appear in more than one week and have then appear on a list on a 5th sheet, i.e. my good performers sheet!

I have a piece of code which, amongst other things, searches column A of one sheet for certain values and then pastes relevant data to a different sheet.
A lot of the data is fixed in relation to the entry in column A e.g. the 'Open Date' is always 8 rows down and 1 row across from the value I search for. These pieces of data easy to transfer to the other sheet.
However, one piece of data could be anywhere within a 10 row, 4 column region offset from the value in column A i.e. if column A is on row 12, then the data I am looking for could be anywhere in the range B20:E30.
