View 2 RepliesI have a workbook with 26 multiple worksheets that each represent 1 of 26 payperiods per year (bi-weekly payperiods). These worksheets consists of rows of employees names and hours worked each day. The columns consist of dates representing each day in that payperiod.
I need to be able to search all the worksheets (ie. search all 26 payperiods) to find specific 30 day intervals and then copy each employees hours worked to a master spreadsheet. I have tried variations of Index & Match formulae as well as vlookup/hlookup/ISNA without luck. I am not able to use VBA.
Basically, I need to look for an item, lets use "apple" as an example, in a range of cells, A1:D100. Then the corresponding result would be in another column in the same row.

Each salesman has an enquiry log / hot prospect sheet that they are responsible for.
At present at the end of the month our receptionist has to consolidate this information manually onto a master sheet.
I would like to create an automatic master sheet that auto updates each time it is opened.
It has to read data from about 13 work books each with varting amounts of date. All works books are formatted identically (or they will be)
I've been writing a little macro to prompt a user with a form which lets them select 2 reports to open and also lets them select a month. One report contains financial data for the month and the other report contains all data for the year. So each month someone has to copy data from report 1 into report 2.
I have so far been able to:
-create form with error handling to open files
- select values from a pivot table in report 1
- search pivot table 1 (single sheet) and copy the Name and Total $ fields
what i haven't been able to do:
When i get the data from report 1 I switch to report 2. When i get to report to i need to search all the sheets in order to find a name with the original Name field from report 1 (I then have a HUGE case statement that will tell me if name = this and month = that then paste in cell $x$y). However, whenever i try to run my search across all sheets it will only find values on the sheet that is selected at the time.
I've attached my search code below, I would appreciate any help i can get as I've spent all day trying to resolve it with no luck
Function findinworkbook(TruncName)
Dim ws As Worksheet
On Error Resume Next
For Each ws In ThisWorkbook.Sheets
' Find Function
Cells.Find(What:=TruncName, After:=ActiveCell, LookIn:=xlFormulas, _
LookAt:=xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext, _
MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False).Activate
ActiveCell.ClearComments
ActiveCell.AddComment
ActiveCell.Comment.Text Text:="test" 'test to mark where the matched cells are
On Error Goto 0
Next
End Function
I need a VBA script that can display a search box on multiple sheets within the same workbook similar to using ctrl + F and search values in column B only. If there is text or the row happens to be empty then it should skip that and only search numbers. Also the numbers in column B range from 50000 to 89000 and if there is a wrong number entered then I want to have a pop up box saying Error: invalid value or something like that.
Sub search_box()
Range("B49000").Select
Cells.Find(What:="some#", After:=ActiveCell, LookIn:=xlValues, LookAt:= _
xlWhole, SearchOrder:=xlByColumns, SearchDirection:=xlNext, MatchCase:= _
False, SearchFormat:=False).Activate
Cells.FindNext(After:=ActiveCell).Activate
End Sub
I'm trying to write a macro that inserts multiple rows by giving user a MsgBox to enter the # of desired rows. Meanwhile, I need to make sure that the formulas in certain cells are filled down (not just copied from cell directly above). I put something together but it's only adding a single row. Attached is my sample workbook.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to highlight cells for all of the products and rates I need to get pricing for. I have a macro that goes out to my data and pulls in each different rate and program (columns BM:BN). That macro also sets the first note rate in the range to the lowest of the group, so this will always be different.
I now manually highlight each cell that I need to get pricing, but would like to create a macro that looks up those codes and rates in column BM:BN and highlights the cells for me. I need it to highlight in all 7 boxes. I've attached a sample worksheet of what it looks like after I highlight the cells.
I am trying to get a VBA code to import multiple text files into an excel worksheet. The text files contain about 5,000 words each listed in a single column. I found this thread Import Multiple Text Files and the code listed there:
Sub test()
Dim myDir As String, fn As String, ff As Integer, txt As String
Dim delim As String, n As Long, b(), flg As Boolean, x, t As Integer
myDir = "c: est" '<- change to actual folder path
delim = vbTab '<- delimiter (assuming Tab delimited)
fn = Dir(myDir & "*.txt")
Do While fn <> ""
Redim b(1 To Rows.Count, 1 To 1)
ff = FreeFile
Open myDir & "" & fn For Input As #ff
Do While Not EOF(ff)..........................
I have a workbook with many many sheets in it. The first sheet contains a single column with about 10,000 different values. I'd like to use each of these as search criteria against ALL data in the other sheets (of which there are a good 50 or so). If matches are found (they don't have to be exact case), then I'd like two things to happen:
1. The rows containing the matched search criteria in the first sheet are highlighted.
2. In the cells adjacent to the search criteria in the first sheet, hyperlinks to the matched data are created and named after the sheet upon which this matched data appears.
I've attached a sample file to this post with ideal sample 'answers' to queries made of the first 2 terms.
I'm trying to simplify a macro so that I don't have to manually find the column to change each time. Basically, I want the macro to search for a column that contains [alt enter], and then add that column name to the existing macro below.
I tried various "find" or "match" comands in VBA, but am unsure how to execute the command so that the result of the find/match affects the highlighted line below.
VB:
Sub Seperatefromlinebreaks()
'working for active sheet
'copy to the end of sheets collection
ActiveSheet.Copy after:=Sheets(Sheets.Count)
Dim tmpArr As Variant
Dim Cell As Range

I have a workbook that has 2 sheets. The main sheet is titled Data, and the second sheet is titled Archive.
I need a macro that will let me search all of Column A on Sheet2(Archive) and copy all rows whose Column A contains the value I input into Sheet1 B19, and paste it on Sheet1(Data) starting in cell A21. It can replace any information already on those rows on Sheet1 and I want to copy the information from Sheet2 not cut it.
This part isn't necessary but would be great, on Sheet2 in column D there is a Date it would be great to have another macro that would let me pull the same information as above but only pull a certain number of rows starting with the most recent dates.
I have a dataset that is large. I want to write a macro program that checks the number in cell A1, copies the number and then the rows contents to another worksheet/spreadsheet. Then jumps to cell A2 and if the number is different to that of A1 copy the data of that entire row over from that row to the next worksheet/spreadsheet. If the number is the same as A1 then jump over to A3
Then continue this process but rather than comparing it to A1, compare it to the new number that has been found in coloumn A.
For example
7 A
7 A
6 AB
7 A
So starting at the first line then jumping the next one then to 6 and finally 7.
I have created some code to look in a cell to see if the name matches that which has been input in a drop down list on a combo box on an input form and then copy the value of column 10 in the same row. I created a public variable for that name as txtTenant.
What I wanted to do was to then write the code that if the first cell did not match the name selected (txtTenant) that it would then drop down one cell and compare it and keep going down until it finds a match, right down to the end of the column of data if necessary.
My coding is not working - it stays at the first person it finds in the first cell. I am not sure if I should be using For...next loops or loop.....
This is the
Sub FillData()
Application. ScreenUpdating = False
RentRow = 2 'sets the first row as row 2 in the data sheet to copy from
NewRentRow = 7 'seta the row to copy to in txtTenant
I need to come up with a way to search Sheet1 column-by-column and within each column search cell-by-cell. The value within each cell is a string and there are empty or blank cells between data (Ending the search after 100 rows is sufficient). As the macro iterates down each column and finds a cell that contains data, I need it to copy that data and paste it in a column on Sheet2. Basically, as the macro searches column A with space between data in Sheet1, it needs to copy that data to column A with no spaces in Sheet2. This needs to repeat for 20 columns.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWould like a macro that will do the following:
- Go into a specified folder (ie. C:data) which contains multiple workbooks
- search each workbook for a column titled SCIN
- copy the cell labelled SCIN and 60 cells below it to a new workbook (summary workbook)
- repeat the process in all the workbooks until all of the SCIN columns have been located and copied into the summary workbook
In my "cover" sheet I click the allocate cover button and it then generates a list of data below the first table. This generated data now needs to update the "timetable" sheet by using the "allocated cover teacher" and "period" cells as a reference to then input the class code into the timetable at this time.

So in this picture we see that Dorothy*Schultz (in cell E27) has been given a class 3 MABA RM 15(cell D27) on TuesdayP1 (C27). I want search for Dorothy*Schultz and TuesdayP1 in the "timetable" tab to input the name of the class which in this instance would be input to cell I20 in the "timetable tab".

I am trying to write a macro to do the following:
Search column "I" for blank cells. If one is found then all adjacent cells to the left in that row are shifted to the right by one. (in other words for that row cells A-H are shifted right to become cells B-I).

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo this is what I am trying to do, I have a column in my data that is for telephone numbers. When I receive the file some of the fields are blank in that column. I need to add to my current macro a part that evaluates the column for blanks and adds a static telephone number in the blanks (up to the last row of data in the file). I have been able to accomplish this with the following:
Range("N2").Select
Range(Selection, Selection.End(xlDown)).Select
Selection.SpecialCells(xlCellTypeBlanks).Select
Selection.FormulaR1C1 = "1112223333"
However, when the file that I receive has a telephone number in all the fields the code breaks at this point. I have tried On Error Resume Next, but that just replaces all the remaining cells in the column with the static 1112223333..
I am looking for a macro to replace the values in a range of cells with a specific array for each column heading

I need a Macro that deletes all cells in column D of all worksheets in a book that are equal to the word "Timeout" and to shift the cells to the right of the "Timeout" cells into the deleted cells but leaving all other rows where the word "Timeout" is not present.
So in the case of Rows 2, 4, 6 and 8 containg the word "Timeout" in column D, I would like cells D2, D4, D6 and D8 deleted and the remaining cells shifted to the left but cells D1, D3, D5 and D7 left as they are.
Here is an example line of data:

i want a macro to search all of column A in multiple sheets for a date that has been put into an input box.
the matching dates have data corresponding to them in that row. i want the date and data from the row to then be copied into a new sheet.
I have a workbook named as "DCR_Summary". In the sheet "FX", I want to get the sum of a specific column from two different workbooks named as "WNCR REPORT" and "DCCR-REPORT". The name of the column is "FXCOLL". The summation should start in row 7 all the way down where data is available. The good thing is that, my sum range will always starts at row 7 in both files but the bad thing is that the position of column "FXCOLL" is changing every day. The expected result is shown in the attached "DCR_Summary". It should pick at the same time the Sheet names where the summation came from. Sheet names is also changing and sometimes the FXCOLL is nil, hence, 0 value can be returned.

Once this row has been copied, I then want the macro to activate a new sheet and search for the next available empty row to paste the data. Once this has been done, go back to the original sheet and find the next cell in the original column with the specified text string and repeat until the range has been satisfied. Below is the script I have that sort of works.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to divide a table of data (7 Columns, 500-1000'ish rows) into individual worksheets based on any unique values in column. There may be anywhere from 10-30 instances of the same value in Column C, and I need to bring all rows of each unique instance into a newly created worksheet to be labelled the same as the value in Column C.
The RAW data will be updated monthly by keeping a template file copying and pasting data, therefore I am hoping to have a "SORT" button with this Macro assigned to it. I have quickly thrown together a sample workbook with how the RAW DATA will be pasted into the file, with additional sheets showing how I would like the data split and organised.
I have 3 worksheets in my workbook, these are listings of people in offices, their address and phone numbers. Unfortunatly the acurate data is split between 2 worksheets and I'm trying to gather it into one.
First worksheet has columns: First Name, Last Name & Phone number
Second worksheet: Address, Full name (sometimes more than one people separated by commas)
What I want to do:
-Import the First, Last name and Phone from worksheet 1 to the new one. Done!
-(Now the complicated part) For each row in the new worksheet, gather the First and Last name together and run a search on the 2nd worksheet's Full Name column (the one that sometimes have more than one name separated by commas) and if a match is found, return the address information on the corresponding row to a specific cell.
Preferably I wanted to do this without the use of VBA as I'm an absolute beginner in the language.
