Mandatory TextBox Field - UserForm
Sep 2, 2009I am using Excel 2003. I need to make a mandatory field for TextBox1 on UserForm2. So if the user leaves TextBox1 "blank", then they are forced to enter in data into TextBox1.

I have found a code for mandatory cell, but it creates a second macro and i was not able to link the two.The mandatory field has drop down of employee's and it is located in the cells D78:E78.
I have the below code that I am using to find an empty textbox with the name FirstName. All it does is place the cursor in the FirstName text box if the textbox is empty, but doesn't really make it stand out. I was hoping to find a way to color the background of the textbox pink, or have it set up so it would stand out somehow.

The code listed below identifies in a MultiPage UserForm non- null TextBoxes whose pair of associated OptionButtons have not been selected. (The TextBox and OptionButtons all lie within a Frame and their are 60+ sets of these throughout the UserForm.) A MessageBox alerts user to select one of the OptionButtons.

I have 4 columns, If column B (Ref No) is filled in, the adjacent columns, C,D and E become mandatory and an input box pops up on screen one after the other for entry into each column.
My problem is that I require a drop down list and not a input box for the final column (status). So i have created a userform with a combobox dropdown. I am having problems connecting the combobox selection to the final column, and for the selected combobox item to go into the right cell like the input box entry currently does.

I've been using the following code to conditionally format userform textboxes based on a specific value (in this case 2490):

What I'm looking to do now is amend this so rather than use a specific value, to use the value in a specific textbox on the same userform.
I need a userform textbox event that fires after I tab or click out of the textbox. Going by the list of options:Beforedragover, BeforeDroporPaste, Change, DblClick, DropButtonClick, Error, Keydown, Keypress, keyup, mousedown, mousemove, mouseup.
I can't figure out which one will do what I want. The change event happens instantaneously which doesn't work. I need to fire off the event when my focus leaves the textbox.
I need the value of active x control textbox on my worksheet 1, to be copied to a textbox in my userform, that pops up from that sheet....
And I want it to display after the textbox on my worksheet has been updated and the comman button for the userform is clicked...

Here is my code, it does a vlookup and if the persons name is not found it will split the text entered into forename and surname but when i try and add

It actually displays &ForeName & in the text box of the next from rather than what ForeName is..
eg. John Smith -> search button -> user not found msg -> user wants to add user -> string is split into forename and surname -> forename = John , surname = Smith -> display this in the second form.
What code should i be using to do this, i thought that &ForeName & would work.
I tried looking for everywhere, but i still cant seem to find the solution.. I have an Active X textbox on a worksheet, and I need it's value to show up on a textbox on my userform, that shows up through a command button on that worksheet. I'm fairly new to vba.

In short, I want to keep it the way I have it, but allow users to also have the option of typing in a SKU and pull the data up that way. I know this is possible, I just can't figure out how to do it, while keeping my current solution in place as well.

I want to populate a textbox (output) on one userform with data from a textbox (target) on another userform.
The data in the textbox (target) is the result of calculations in the userform code and is not gathered from or saved to a cell.

1,what i have done is made a workbook with a user form to input data (customer id is the unique record)
i now want to create a form where i can put the customer id in and tell it to show me that customers details and i can edit.
i have various textboxes/ combo boxes/ check boxes in the input form and i want all these to be included on the review form (for updating and changing the existing data).
2, also if possiable i will add a sheet with dates for deadline to cancel, can i get this to show on the new input form is it is to late to cancel?

The required fields still fill in data in the spreadsheet. I need it to check those fields and not allow the data to be entered into the spreadsheet.
I have a form “RiseSpan” with three TextBoxes, “txtInSpan”, “txtDepth” & txtOutSpan”.
I wish to enter values in “txtInSpan” and “txtDepth”. These values are placed in cells A1 and A2. If both “txtInSpan” and “txtDepth” are greater that zero, I want “txtOutSpan” to show the value of cell C11.

After seaching on this and other forums I have not been able to get an answer to this question. Also I know there are a lot of posts out there that sound like this, but none are the same.
My spreadsheet has multiple userforms, which has multiple textboxes. The textboxes are for dates. I have it set so when you double click in the textbox that it calls a calendar function.
Here is the problem.... After you click ok on the calendar form I want the date to go into the textbox that the calendar form was called from. The only way for me to get this to work is to create a seperate calendar form for each textbox that I call the calendar form from.

Can the textbox be formatted so it will only allow a number?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an userform say frmNew. In the form, I have three textboxes: txtCost, txtRate, txtSale.
The following two boxes are filled by a user:
txtCost contain the Cost of an item (numbers)
txtRate contain the % Rate (3 character), i.e. the txtRate can contain only A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I and J. The corresponding value is 1,2,....9,0 respsctively.
If a user enters any numbners or characters other than A,B,..J, a msgbox should popup with a error message.
The value for txtSale is generated by the Macro i.e. txtSale = (txtCost + (txtCost * txtRate)).
