Find Multiple instances of Numeric Criterion in Row & Return To a Single Column.
I have a Dynamic Named Range "Data" spanning 10 Columns and many Rows. Each Row may contain duplicates of the Numeric Criterion.
I would like to find ALL instances of a specific Numeric Criterion across each single Row in the Dynamic Range "Data" and have the Results returned to a New Sheet in a single column.
NEW Sheet: The Numeric Criterion is housed in G5. The matched criterion should be returned to the New Sheet starting at G7. Duplicate instances in the same Row should ALL be returned to the same cell in Column G on the New Sheet.
Sample Data Layout: Columns I J K L M N O P Q R Row No.76 1 0 1 1 0 1 1 1 0 1 Row No.77 2 2 3 2 1 2 2 0 0 0 Row No.78 3 3 3 3 3 0 3 0 3 0
Scenario: Looking for Numeric Criterion 1 (one).
Expected Results - New Sheet: Row No.7 Column G (Cell G7) 1111111 Row No.8 Column G (Cell G8) 1
In Row 76 of the Sample Data ALL seven Numeric Criterion of 1 (one) should be returned to the same cell G7. In Row 77 of the Sample Data there is only one Numeric Criterion of 1 and it should be returned to cell G8.
I am preparing an "automated" order form. I have a list of products (ten) in a pull down list, a list of options (3) in a pull down list and a list of the pricing.
So, If PRODUCT_A with OPTION_A, then PRICE = $X. If PRODUCT_A with OPTION_B, then PRICE = $Y. If PRODUCT_B with OPTION_C, then PRICE = $Z.
etc.
I want the user to select the product, then the option, and have the correct price "pre-fill" the cell.
Want to be able to select data from Column C (3 data validations/drop down menus) and have the corresponding values display in the appropriate fields in column H. Not sure if this is possible?
I think I need to link different formulas here and don't want to use a pivot table. The columns run to row 200 and I have 10 separate spreadsheets. I want to create a new file, a master consolidated view
Each row represents 1 client
Column A Contains Yes or No Column B Contains the Source (i.e Post, Email, Phone) Column C contains a range of different dates ie when customer made contact Column D Contains a currency value.
So the question I need to answer is; Return a sum of Column D for those values who's row attributes are Yes, Post and date of current day +5.
In simple terms who can I contact in 5 days time and what is the expected value.
I have added current date in cell E1. F1, F2, F3, contains text Post, Email, Phone.

I know something very similar was posted before, but unfortunately, it wasn't what I was looking for. I have a Worksheet tracking several associates and the department they have done work in. (Our associates are contractors for other departments). I need to have a final worksheet that allows me to pull up a name, and display every dept they worked with in the past week.
Attached is a sample workbook, but essentially what I'm looking to do is automate the process of searching through a data set where the value of interest (in this case, names) often has multiple entries, with different values attached to each instance.
I would like to be able to get a list of all values in a given column that match a specific name in another column.
Currently I'm using a basic INDEX/MATCH search just to see whether the data exists at all, but that's only half of what I have to do here, and I'm totally stumped on how to get a comprehensive list of all matches.
For reference, if you look at the sample, what I need is a list of all values in the "CPT" column that match the name searched for in the first column.
The actual data set size is at most 3-400 entries, if that makes a difference in how to approach this.
I've got an If statement in Excel which features several VLookups - I need the IF statement to return differing results to 2 different cells, is this possible?

I am trying to look & match key values from 2 areas of one table with two areas of another table; in turn, it'd return one value based on the lookup table...
i have two sheets, one to display results (Reults tab) & the other tab containing the data (Data tab)
what i am trying to do is some how create a search function and have a forumula which contains a LIKE function that looks up the data table RANGE = Data!A2:K255
the search needs to lookup the primary column Data!B2:B255 ... if any results are found .. show them on the results tab.. and if multiple results are found, display those as well.. (in either instance, the whole row of information in respect to the results need to be dislayed and hopefully no duplicates are found .. eg, Data!A:K of a hit)
is there a formula that can achieve this? oh, the search is TEXT based and there should be no empty cells within the dataset
after some MASSIVE googling, i have stumbled accross this
B1 = Search box (txt field)
A6 (which will be a hidden column) contains =MATCH($B$1,Data!A2:A255,0). this formula provides the first instance of the result and provides the row number
A7 contains =MATCH($B$1,OFFSET(Data!$A$1,A6+1,0,8-(A6+1),1),0)+A6. this is supposed to look for the next row number which contains a match and provide that row number
and througout my other columns, i have B6=OFFSET(Data!$A$1,A6,1) B7=OFFSET(Data!$A$1,A6,2) B8=OFFSET(Data!$A$1,A6,3) and so on
2 things i cannot recitify..
1, the match has to be EXACT ... unfortunately i cannot use exact .. needs to be LIKE .. eg, i cant use the search word "boat" as the range of data has "boats" 2, it comes up with multile .. irrelevent results.
I need a function that will use a column of text values and test these values to see if one or more of the values exist in a single cell. If it does I need the function to return true or false.
Ie. cell A1 contains the text "Jim Smith" the B column contains the test names (column of test values ) ie. B1 is "bill" B2 is "fred" B3 is "jim". Because Jim is in the cell A1 I would need the function in C1 to return the value "true". If A1 contained the text "bob smith" then function in C1 would return the value "false".
I need a formula that will return a value if two conditions are meet. This is probably pretty easy but i am drawing a blank.
I have two columns B & C and in those colums there are numbers from 1-5. And in column A there is a number.

I am trying to get a formula to look in B1:B100 for the cells that match A1, then in those cells look in C1:C100 for cells thant match A2 then in the cells that meet both those look in D1:D100 for the ones that match A3. Then if there are any cells that meet all 3 matches return the value "a" if not return a blank.

I have very limited vb experience and I believe it’s the only way I can do what I need to get done. I am working on creating an invoice template. I want the price to populate based on two conditions. The two conditions are invoice line quantity and month. Let me provide data ranges. The user will enter a quantity for each invoice line moving down B17, B18, B19, B20 etc up to 24 lines. (through B40). The user will enter a current date in F13. Away from the main body of the invoice:
Range T5 thru T16 will be pre-populated with each month of year 2007. So T5 = 1/1/2007, T6 = 2/1/2007, T7 = 3/1/2007 etc. Range U5 – U16 will be pre-populated with the line price for each month if the line quantity is less than 10 Range V5 – V16 will be pre-populated with the line price for each month if the line quantity is 10 or more
The price should autopopulate in G17 - G40 where a quantity is placed in the corresponding column range B17 - B40. The number of lines varies per invoice so I'm setting the template up with sufficient lines. As an example, the price should populate for each invoice line beginning in G17 to correspond to the month entered in F13 and quantity entered in B17 based on the corresponding month in T5-T16 and the price in either U5-U16 or V5-V16 given the quantity. So if the Month in F13 was February and the quantity in B17 was 25, the price that populates G17 would come from V6. If the Month in F13 is March and quantity in B17 is 5, the price that populates G17 would be from U7. I just don’t have enough experience to write this myself.
I have several rows with numbers that is either 0, a balance or a text like n/a. I need a formula that return true if all are 0 or contain n/a. If there is one balance shall it be false. Any suggestion? See example:
So for the sake of this example i have two cells lets call them J1 & J2 , one with the client name and another with State (matches the table name)

I am trying to return a cell address range based on values in different columns. Attached is an example.
In Column A1 I have "Range" and below that a set of numbers from 1 to 31.
In Column B1 the name "Test" is used as an identifier, below that are the letters "a" though to "e". Once the letter "e" is reached the identifier "Test" is moved to column C "C6" and the alphabet continues from "f" down to "j". This process is repeated through the rest of the alphabet and the identifier moved to the next column after every 5th letter.
What I want to do is as follows:-
I would like to know the cell addresses of all instances of "test" from Column A numbers 6 throught to 24. The result should be C7:C12, D14:18 & D20:24. The results should ignore all instances of the identifier "test" and only return the cells which contain the letters of the alphabet.
I have tried using Vlookup which works well if the letters are all in the same column and I have incorporated the Address and Match formulas to return the range if all the alphabets are in the same column, but I do not know how to do this if the identifier "test" and letters move to a differnt column.
I've got no clue about all this, but I've had to get specific formula examples and fill in the blanks in order for my timesheet to work. There's just one final problem if somebody could please help.
This is a timesheet for a 5 day work week. I need to count the number of unique log numbers for a specific activity. The log numbers counted must be unique across the entire week, not just for each day, which means I want the formula to count the unique log numbers across multiple sheets.
The formula also has multiple conditions. I got 2 columns. The first part of the formula needs to verify a word, say, "split" and if it does it checks the adjacent cell for a unique log number. If both arguments are true, it counts the log as 1 unit.
Here is a working formula for only one page. =COUNT(IF(D4:D29="split",IF(FREQUENCY(C4:C28,C4:C28)>0,1,)))
Here's 2 problems with this formula: 1. I will count if it encounters a blank cell in the Log numbers the first time (which will happen as not every activity we do has a log#), but it will stop counting if it encounters a second blank cell.
2. I don't know how to make it work across several sheets.
This is an alternate formula which works and skips the blank cells, but I don't know how to add the multiple condition of "split" and to have it work across multiple sheets. I just copied it Microsoft. As I said, I don't understand it, I just fill in the blanks.
