see attachment below for easier comprehension of what I need to be done. Note that I have around 20 subjects (2 in example) and about 15000 values per subject (5 per subject shown) Basically, I want matching rows to be aligned (see grey) and non-matching rows to be deleted, throughout the 20 or so subjects.
I need to remove duplicate Part Numbers where other information in the cells will not match. In the following two examples, the only difference is that the COMP_ID: number is different, but for my purposes, the second example is a duplicate and needs to be removed. I have hundreds of rows of this type of information with various part numbers: ...
I have so many part codes in column A with their Group in Column B.I want to arrange in ascending orders only those part codes which have almost matching in Column A with other part codes with different group. Please see the attached file and expected result.
I have attached my sample XL sheet. Column A & B will be imported from computer system, only one p/n and quanity. Column C & D will be scanned in from multiple trucks and warehouse, p/n might show up multiple times with different quanities. I need to compare A&B to C&D and come up with a recount sheet that shows the difference as in E&F. Ideally this could be put on another sheet that could be printed out for recounting. Is it possible to do all these different functions automatically. There will be somewhere between 3000-5000 different p/n's.
how to reference the drang (named range) and the cell propertly as i keep getting an error.
Everything in the below code works except the parts below in blue
details: I have in column X lots of names and in column Y (dynamic column anges as the users chooses them as per the code) and I want to loop through all names in 'X' and if there are multiple of the same names then for the corresponding 'Y' row entry of each be checked and if they are equal (same $ value) then for one of them of cells in the Y column to be cleared.
Basically if the same name appears more than once it will most likley have the same $ value and if i do a calculation on the $'s it will be 2,3,10 times the amount it should be, hence the need for this .
As per the below code I am trying to use 2 for Each loops though I keep getting an error when trying to reference the drng range which has the values in them..
I have a worksheet that has 3 duplicate values in a particular column, I need a macros that will highlight two of the duplicates row and then another macro to delete the entire row. The duplicate element are in column R. find attached worksheet.
I am using the following macro to insert the word "Duplicate" in the first blank column next to a duplicate row. My data is sorted by the first column. Data Example:
12345 a 12345 a DUPLICATE 11111 b 23123 b
Here is the macro I am using and it does not work. It marks the first duplicate it finds then goes into an infinite loop. Any Idea where I went wrong?
Sub MarkDupes() x = ActiveCell.Row y = x + 1 Do While Cells(x, 1).Value <> "" Do While Cells(y, 1).Value <> "" If (Cells(x, 1).Value = Cells(y, 1).Value) Then Cells(y, 3).Formula = "Duplicate" Else y = y + 1 End If Loop x = x + 1 y = x + 1 Loop End Sub
I have 4 columns in my spreadsheet. I am trying to find any duplicates that may exist in Col A, sum values in Col D, then delete the entire row. So far my sheet before I run my vba code is this.
Col A 100 101 102 105 100 101 102 105
Col D 5 4 2 4 1 2 3 1
After my code is run, I need for my spreadsheet to look like this
Col A 100 101 102 105
Col D 6 6 5 5
I have some code but I still need to do a considerable amount of tweaking to it. Currently my code is only deleting the duplicate values in Col A. I am having difficulty summing the values in Col D as well as deleting the entire row.
Here is my code thus far....
------- Public Sub FindDuplicates() For RwCnt = 1 To (Worksheets(1).Cells(65536, 1).End(xlUp).Row) SrchValue = Worksheets(1).Cells(RwCnt, 1).Value If Len(Trim(SrchValue)) > 0 Then With Worksheets(1).Range("a1:a" & Cells(65536, 1).End(xlUp).Row)

I have a cell (A1) that contains text. That text will match a single value in a reference list (i.e. range of cells e.g. Z1:Z26). When the match occurs (e.g. A1 = Z16), I want the format of the reference cell (fill color, text color) to apply to the cell of interest (A1). The reference cells are manually formatted.
I know that I could create a long list of conditional format formulas instead of using the reference, but it seems that there must be some way to tell excel: if the cell value contents are equivalent, the formatting should be as well.
Is it possible to have a formula where it will retrieve a specific value on one sheet based on matching values? Unfortunately, hlookup wont work as there are several values in the table where the 'lookup_value' is the same.
Example:
On sheet 1 (titled BSRC), I have a table which has a list of values in column 1. On column two I have the 'lookup value' which needs to be matched and all values underneath it to be retrieved from sheet 2 (titled CSRD). The 'lookup_value' range is on row 9 of sheet 2.
I have attached a sample spreadsheet for clarification.
I'm trying to rank the values in cells S32:S38 in ascending order while ignoring zeros and negative values. I also need to rank duplicate values with a unique ranking, so that no ranking value is repeated. I tried the formula below, but the ranking values start at "2" instead of "1" and I can't figure out how to fix it.
i have a very large spreadsheet filled with telephone numberS and some other codes that go with them...i need to match the codes with the phone numbers.
Sub TRCO() Dim TNs As Long Dim i As Long Dim TempArray() As String Dim TRCO As String Dim CD03 As String Dim ASOC As Range TRCO = "TRCO" CD03 = "CD034DF1" 'Filter TN's Columns("B:B").EntireColumn.Insert Set tempRange = Range("A6", Range("A65000").End(xlUp)) With tempRange . How do you write an excel macro that looks at the number in the first column (day #) and finds all the duplicate id#s in the second column that are in day 1and adds the amounts together in the 3rd column then writes the first column number (day#), second column number(id#) and the third column (sum of the amounts of duplicate Id#) to an new worksheet. Then the macro would loop through day #2 and do the same thing. Notice that the values in the id column are unique in this data set below this is how I would like the data to look. I have accomplished this in a pivot table but my problem is I need a cvs file to export the final data into an external database which is why I need a macro.....
I don't know if this is even possible via VBA, but thought I'd throw it out there and see what you guys think.
In the attached workbook column D contains fields for the UsagePN. If a part is "rolled-up" in our order system to a new part number, then the OLD part number, (in colmn B), is associated with a UsagePN. What I need to do is, for every part that has a UsagePN in Column D, I need to find that part number in column B and add the inventory values from the old part number to the new one.
For Example: Row 74 in the attachment has a UsagePN of AC1230105V. I need to take the values from cells G74 thru K74 andd ADD them to the existing values in G77 thru K77, which are the inventory values for AC1230105V.
In other words, since part number AC1230105 has rolled-up to the new part number AC1230105V, I need to add all of the inventory to the new part number, AC1230105V.
After this is done for ALL parts with a usage part number, I will delete all the rows containing UsagePN's.
Here's the catch, as you can see in the example, there is no consistency, so a simple formula like adding the values to the same part number with a "V" at the end won't work. I guess you would have to do something like for each row with a value in column D, dim that row so you can refer back to it, then search for a match in column B, insert a "helper" row below where the part number is found to add the quantities, then replace the original with the helper row, and then delete the helper. One of you guys probably knows a better way.
Keep in mind that you won't always find a match, so the macro needs to continue to the next part if no match is found.
I hope I was clear. This one looks like it will be a nightmare, but I hope somebody on here has some ideas.
I am working with timesheet data (name, project code, task code, date, hours etc...) in one spreadsheet and rate card data (name, role, day rate etc...) in another.
My task is to pull together some of the information in each of these two source spreadsheets and compile a report. This I have done no problem. However, where a person works on a particular project and task on the same day and records multiple entries (which could be negative) I need to consolidate the hours in all these matching rows and have just one row reflect the total hours worked and delete the other duplicate rows.
So an example would be:
Project | Task | Name | Role | Date | Hours
123456 | 1.001 | Paul Jones | Project Manager | 20/02/2008 | 2.5 123456 | 1.001 | Paul Jones | Project Manager | 20/02/2008 | -2.5 123456 | 1.001 | Paul Jones | Project Manager | 20/02/2008 | 3.5
[Code]....
My problem is I don't think I have approached this the right way but am unsure of where to go with it. The code as is does sort of work but I still get some duplicate and zero lines in my results.

Should be processed and come out like this:.......................
Basically, each date, in the format mmm yy, has a cost, two cells right of the date. I want to create year sub totals at the bottom of the cost column by looking up the year element of the date....so in my own wierd logic, I want to ask, if in the range of cells C5 to C22, contains the year 10, add the cost in column E to the total cell (E27).....this is probably laughably simple to you guys, but when you dont know the correct term for the action, it is a swine to find.
To best explain my problem I will use this example
Dog 2 400 Cat 4 300 Car 1 200 Dog 7 800 Car 8 900
That data is in the top of my worksheet, and I would like to be able to find all the dog values then reference the 2nd and 3rd column and add all the dog values up and then post the totals in a area below like this
dog 9 1200 cat 4 300 car 9 1100
Stipulations 1) there are different amounts of values, there may be 1 dog value or 10 dog values, I would like the program to recognize the dog values and add the corresponding values. 2) dog, cat, car values are not the only values, there may be others like "tree, apple" but are not in use. So only values in the top of the spreadsheet get referenced to the bottom part.........................
I tried to make something to find a certain value (from a userform) in a range, and then copy the line partially to another sheet. Then go forth to the next found item and do the same. But... I cannot seem to make this loop.
With Sheets("Data input").Range("N5:N1100") Dim FoundRange As Range Worksheets("Data input").Activate
