Mar 5, 2008I'm trying to write what is supposed to be a simple script that looks at a column of usernames (ColumnA) and passwords (ColumnB). I start off by prompting the user to enter their username in an input box and then I want a loop to check this value against the values in Column A. If the username exists, I want to prompt an input box for the password. If the username does not exist I need some kind of limit on the loop to prompt an input box for the user to enter a new username and password that I'll add to the last row of the data table. The loop part is kicking my butt, this is what I have so far...

Cell A11 should calculate average attempts between failures for the whole range A1:A10.

Calculate Players Ranking Based On Their Weight Categories And Attempts Total?
Jan 31, 2014I am trying to calculate players ranking based on their weight categories and attempts total, e.g. Category (50kg, 69kg etc..) Rank should be calculated automatically the highest total value of cat. 50kg is 1st second highest is 2nd etc. However, if tow players or more within the same Category have scored same point ranking will be calculated based on Body Weight less comes first and if both have similar weight calculation will be based on Start # first player comes first etc..

Password Protection :: Asking For Password Of An Old Deleted File
May 27, 2009When opening a new Excel file, it is asking me for a password to an old excel file that was password protected, which I have deleted from my computer. It is still asking for this password every time I open a new or existing file. When I hit cancel it lets me open the file.

When i open the workbook it requires me to insert a password, i tried to type this but excel will not follow keystrokes, i then inserted the password in cell G7 which i then copy and paste, which you can see the copy at the beginning of the macro.
Is there a way where you can get it to insert the password so i can open the workbook in a macro.
What im trying to do is save 26 suspense spreadsheets by just clicking on a macro.

All of the terms prefixed with "Category:" in col D are in alphabetical order. I need to count the number of identical cells in col D with the "Category:" prefix.

Formula That Adds Count But Saves Count So Can Clear Field
Jan 20, 2008I want is a field (e.g Large Parts Used) where I can enter in a number, then basically this number is subtracted from current stock field for Large Parts so I get an updated field of current stock on hand.
But what I want to do is once I've entered the number in the Large Parts used field, I can then clear that field but have the corresponding Current stock field to maintain what was last enetered.
E.g
Large Parts Current Stock = 50
(enter in) Large Parts Used = 2
Large Parts Current Stock = 48
(Clear field where 2 was entered into Large Parts used)
(Field still stays at Large Parts Current Stock = 48 although field where 2 was entered was cleared, so need it to save the information so can continually clear and re-enter amounts and have the stock continue to reduce)

Aug 21, 2006going down are stores a, b, c, d.... what i'm filing in across is the square feet of each store and what quartr or year each store came into place. so there will either be a 0 or a number Now, I want to be able to count the number of nhew stores each quarter. how do i create a formula that just recognizes it the first time there is a number and not a zero... because i will put the square feet in subsequent quarters after it opens so i can see yearly how many square feet the store had. then also, how can create a button on the page that will say quarterly numbers and a button that is annual. so that i can hide the quarterly columns and just see an annual spreadsheet... and for the quarterly button so i can hide the annuals and just see the quarters....

Jun 22, 2009I want to count from each cell that doesn't contain "0". So if cell C2=100, I want to be able to count the number g1*2 from that cell and return a value. But then I want to start another count from c5 to the number of g1*2 and then another count from c8 etc basically any cell that contains a value other than "0", I want to start a count from.
The point of this is that the half life will expire after that count, so I want to be able to add the drug levels on an ongoing basis until the count of the half life has been reached. But there will be further dosing along the way before this half life is reached and these values need to be added to the existing value until the half life expires.

I believe I need a loop code to do what I need, because none of the functions I've tried have worked. I want to start at B2 and go down the column until I come to a YES. When I find a YES, I want to know the number of NOs that preceded it. Then I want to go from that YES(#1) to the next YES(#2) and count the number of NOs between YES(#1) and YES(#2) and so forth, until I run out of rows. For example, in C5, the answer is 2, because there are 2 NOs between YES#1 and YES#2 in coulmn B, and a 1 in C7, because there is 1 NO between YES(#2) and YES(#3) in column B.

Feb 22, 2007I have been using the wrong formula to count total entries in columns and only just found this error. The MAX formula in cell B4 is: =MAX($B$12:$B$36). If the all the rows are full within range F12:F36, then the MAX formula is fine to count the total within range B12:B36 (25) so I thought. But sometimes there are omissions between F12:F36. If there are 2 blank cells anywhere within F12:F36 for example, then B4 needs to show 23 respectively. In the sample WkBk B4 needs to show 8

Apr 27, 2009First, I know passwords are easy to break. The point is only to keep the average Excel user in a dept of 3 from accidentally damaging the data.
Normally I hardcode passwords to view xlveryhidden sheets.
But this workbook is for a dept head who has standard password(s) he uses to open or edit a file. I would like to capture these passwords and make it the same password(s) to view a hidden sheet.
This way if he ever changes the password to open/edit it will automatically change the password to view the hidden sheet(s).

User Name & Password Log In
Jun 10, 2009I have a 3 2 user forms, plus a calandar pop-up user form. One is a Log In Screen with a user id combo box and a password textbox referenced to ranges in a very-hidden sheet.
My second form is a spend tracker with mulitple fileds, text boxes, combo boxes, etc.
One of the fields in the spend tracker is user name, what I would like to do is when a user enters their user name and password the entered user name as long as it matches one in the database be populated in the user name field and not allow it to be edited. Is there a way to do this, if so, what is the code and where do I put it.

Sep 1, 2009I was working on a workbook that unhides certain sheets depending on who's logged in. It seems to work fine. However, after it's run (and sheet2 has been unhidden), when I go to unprotect the workbook, the password ("test") no longer works.
