is it possible to place time in a textbox on a userform?
I am trying to make 5 textboxes to display different time zones.
I am attempting to pick up a date with time entry on a worksheet and place it into a TextBox on a UserForm. Format on the sheet is mm/dd/yyyy h:mm AM/PM. The UserForm is placing the value as mm/dd/yyyy 12:00 AM. here is the
Private Sub UserForm_Initialize()
If Not Range("dDate").Value = "" Then
TextBox2.Value = Range("dDate").Value
TextBox2.Text = Format(DateValue(TextBox2.Text), "mm/dd/yy h:mm AM/PM")
Else
TextBox2.Value = ""
TextBox2.SetFocus
End If
End Sub
"dDate" is the named range where the date is sitting. The format is also set on the TextBox2 exit event. Can anyone see why only the date portion is being transfered with the default 12:00 AM for no time component of the value?
To accomplish whats in the title, I tried (and think I used successfully previously) the following
With tbfind
.SelStart = 0
.SelLength = Len(.Value)
.SetFocus
End With
Some details, i have a userform named Findform, a textbox in it named tbFind, and the above code is in the userform initialization event section.
Oh also, I dont get any error, everything runs just fine, its just the cursor is not inside the textbox waiting for typing in it. (but i do think it is the focus, when i press tab it goes to the next one in the tab order)
How can I restrict entry into a textbox to 1 decimal place?

I have been able to cope with the declarations, and set the variable as Variant. However, is it possible to prevent the user inserting "," instead of "."? Alternatively, automatically change "," to "."?

When the project is complete, I would like the user to be able to hit a shortcut key (while inside the user form, with the cursor in the 'Sign Off Date' textbox) to populate the 'Sign Off Date' textbox with today's date (i.e. like CTRL + ; does in Excel) rather than have to enter it manually.

After the date has been found paste special and transpose the 'values only' copied range from 'Live Report' (A3 to A10) in column B on 'Monthly Summary' next to the date that has been found in Column A.

Currently I have a few hidden fields for the DSUM Criteria. I start making the tables. And then filling in table based off of the month and year. Doing so I need 3 criteria:
>= First Day of the Month
<= Last Day of the Month
= ID #
The problem is it takes Excel too long to fill in the 3 criteria fields, calculate the result, copy the result, and place it into the correct place on the table. Is there another way to get this data into the correct tables faster? Instead of using DSUM?
I have a bit of code that fills textfields etc in a Userform. The data is being pulled from the spreadsheet but in this case the TIME is displayed weirdly.
It shows as 0,46875 and should show 11:15:00 as in the spreadsheet.
the line that reads this value is
Code:
.STime.Value = Cells(ActiveCell.Row, "V").Value
I'm attempting to calculate the total number of hours between a start time and end time using textboxes on a Userform.
Here is my latest attempt:
Private Sub D24_Exit(ByVal Cancel As MSForms.ReturnBoolean)
Dim myvalue As String
Dim myhour As String
Dim myminutes As String
myvalue = D24.Value
Select Case Len(D24)
Case 1
myhour = "0" & Mid(myvalue, 1, 1)
myminutes = "00"
Case 2
myhour = Mid(myvalue, 1, 2)
myminutes = "00"
Case 3
The above codes are an attempt to force an entry as time (7, 07, 700, 0700=7:00 / 13, 1300=13:00 etc.). However, the result is not correct.
For example:
Start Time in Textbox(D24)=07:00
End Time in Textbox(D25)=17:30
Result in Textbox(D27)=0.4375
Desired Result in Textbox(D27)=10.5
I've never calculated times in textboxes,
I have a timesheet, with a custom format of [h].mm. In my userform, I have a textbox which I would like to use to enter a time in, but when I run the macro, the time shows up correctly (such as 0.12 for 12 minutes), but it is still calculating as text. I've tried all the various codes I have found throughout the board but nothing has worked so far. I can get as far as making 0.12 minutes show as 12.12.00 AM, but then it shows the whole time instead of the 0.12 which the cell is formatted to do and does not calculate it at the bottom where I grab all the times from that column.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a userform which I'm developing (my first) and I have two textboses:
Textbox6 = start time & Textbox7 = end time & Textbox10 which contains the calculation (Textbox7 - Textbox6).
Now I have code that works great for normal numbers however I need to be able to make the calculations in TIME (hence the start time / end time).
How I can amend this code to be able to calculate total time between textbox 7 and Textbox6.
Private Sub TextBox6_Change()
If TextBox6.Value = "" Then Exit Sub
If TextBox7.Value = "" Then Exit Sub
TextBox10.Value = CDbl(TextBox6.Value) - CDbl(TextBox7.Value)

I have an excel workbook with a form... Not I used this for and the code in other workbooks but this one just does not want to work.... I think the problem is somewhere in the code below but I can't point it out...
Private Sub UserForm_Initialize()
cboDocument.Value = ""
With cboDataType
.AddItem "Voluntary"
.AddItem "AIP"
.AddItem "CA Low Cost"
.AddItem "Takeout"
.AddItem "Terr Cr"
.AddItem "Vol Cr"

Textbox and SpinButtons, there is code for changing the date in a textbox by using a spinbutton. I have tried to use some variation of that for the purpose of changing time but to no avail. What my intention is, is that if someone enters 12:00 into TextBox that SpinButton_Up or SpinButton_Down can change the time to 12:01... or 11:59... respectively, and so on.

Is it possible to format a textbox on a userform so that it displays as time?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a textbox on a userform in which I want the users to enter a valid time, such as "1:20" or "0:15". How can I test this input to verify it is a valid time? Also, after this time is entered, how do I subtract it from the current time which I am displaying in another box>
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm developing a local timesheet userform application and want to capture times which may be greater than 24hrs using a textbox/spinbutton pairing.
I've managed to pair up and work with times up to 24hrs but the output always resets after 23:55.
I've also tried formatting the output as "[h]:mm" but without success.
Private Sub sbDTime_SpinUp()
With ctrl2
If .Text = vbNullString Then
.Text = Format(TimeSerial(0, 5, 0), "hh:mm")
Else
.Text = Format(TimeValue(.Text) + 5, "hh:mm")
End If
End With
End Sub
Private Sub sbDTime_SpinDown()
With ctrl2
If .Text = vbNullString Then
.Text = Format(TimeSerial(0, 5, 0), "hh:mm")
Else
.Text = Format(TimeValue(.Text) + 5, "hh:mm")
End If
End With
End Sub
I am having difficulty trying to find a walkthrough or any other information on how to pair a spinner box to a textbox. Preferably I would like it to show 12:00 and move in 15 minute increments and I seem to be hitting many roadblocks and errors.

I have a number of userforms in an excel database, all with add, edit search capabilities.
Several of the textbox's have a time format, when I enter the time it is shown in hh:mm format, it is stored on the spreadsheet in the same format. but if I use the search function to recall a record and display it on the userform, to allow ammendments the time is always shown as a decimal. Can I set it to display the time as entered.
An example of some coding for a text box is shown below
Private Sub TxForTime_AfterUpdate()
TxForTime.Value = Format(TxForTime.Value, "hh:mm")
End Sub
I need to insert text at the curson position in a text box on a VBA form. I know how to make the button not take the focus; I just need to know how to pass the cursor a timestamp.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a user form on which I need to create a textbox every time the user clicks a button. There are too many to create them all in advance and make them visible when needed. The sample attached, from this forum, is good, except, the numbers in the text box just scroll along and I need to see all the text typed into my textboxes. I would like the textboxes to be multiline, wordwrap and have them resize according to the amount of text.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to format some TextBoxes from within a For/Next loop. I need a way to check which TextBox is the active TextBox in the loop. Using i as the variable, I came up with this code snippet: Me.Controls("TB" & i).Text = Format("TB" & i, "mm/dd/yy")
If i = 3, this gives me in TextBox3 (which is called TB3) the text 'TB3' and not the value of what is in TB3. It has got to bo something simple, I just can't see it!!!
Is there a way without using code to have the text in a text box (excel 2003), copied to another cell or another text box on a different worksheet?
I have information in a text box on 1 worksheet. I would like this information to automatically be copied to another worksheet. On the master sheet, if any of the information gets changed or updated, the copied information should get updated as well.
I've been using the following code to conditionally format userform textboxes based on a specific value (in this case 2490):
[Code] ........
What I'm looking to do now is amend this so rather than use a specific value, to use the value in a specific textbox on the same userform.
I need a userform textbox event that fires after I tab or click out of the textbox. Going by the list of options:Beforedragover, BeforeDroporPaste, Change, DblClick, DropButtonClick, Error, Keydown, Keypress, keyup, mousedown, mousemove, mouseup.
I can't figure out which one will do what I want. The change event happens instantaneously which doesn't work. I need to fire off the event when my focus leaves the textbox.
I need the value of active x control textbox on my worksheet 1, to be copied to a textbox in my userform, that pops up from that sheet....
And I want it to display after the textbox on my worksheet has been updated and the comman button for the userform is clicked...
In Excel VBA Userform, how to copy the text from textbox automatically when the cursor is being moved from the textbox. And when i put CTRL+V then the copyed text has to be pasted.
