I'd like for users to click in a cell in col A in a sheet named "Period7", have the cell value placed in cell C11 in a sheet named "Per7Report," and change the focus or active sheet to sheet Per7Report.
Can this be done simply by clicking in a cell, or must a command button be inserted into each cell (note - odd rows only) in col A in Period7.
on the code to do this?
Note that there is a formula in col A in sheet Period7
I want value in Cell "B2" of "Sheet2" and "Sheet 3" to have the value as active cell in "column C" of "Sheet1".
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to reference a cell in a different sheet and am having a hard time getting the formula to return correctly. The IF statement is currently written like this,
IF(theotherworksheetcell="0",iftruethiscelltoequal"0",iffalseIwanttotypeasimpleformula)
Example:IF('BaseRent'J16="0","0",(D16*E16/12))
The current formula is returning $0 only, it should return a number in some cases.
I would like a macro that will go to a fixed sheet, copy the format, go back to the previous sheet and paste the format. My problems arise going back to the previously activated sheet rather than just a fixed sheet.

On a sheet called EmailList i have a list of the company names. Part of my macro is giving the cell containing the company im working on a Named Range of CompanyName. For example i might have company in the list called ExcelForum, which is in Cell A12. Cell A12 has been named CompanyName.
I want my macro to select the Sheet called PayrollData_ExcelForum, by getting the ExcelForum part of the sheet name by referencing the Range CompanyName.
My current link of code for this is as follows

I am trying to debug the above line of code (moNum is just a variable the tells me how many months to extend the range to the right inorder to get year to date sums).
I have gotten to the point that it will run error free if "Revenue" is the Active worksheet when I run the line, but if I am on any other sheet it throws an "Run=time '1004' Application-defined or object-defined error" error. And if I change the range from cell notation to Column-Row, the issue goes away as well.
I am working on a sheet called 2005, with "Jan" entered into cell C4. I want to reference cells on the sheet called Jan2005 using a function that points to C4 and adds "2005".

Now on another sheet, I want to return the top two 'Name's and their values like below:

There is a fluctuating amount of rows in the first table, too. So what formula can I use to return the correct names and values on another sheet?
I'm thinking it will use some form of concatenate for the first and use a sumifs function for the value column..

When I copy the tab and change some of the data within the cells, I want the macro refer to the chart on the current tab and the values in the current tab - as currently it refers to only "Chart 2" and the values in the tab 'Figure 2 - WE OPH'.
I've tried changing the sheet name to ActiveSheet.name but that doesn't seem to work.
How do you reference the active cell or the current selection on another sheet to get the row or value?

What I am trying to achieve is to copy the contents of the active cell in the first sheet and find it within another sheet but I am unable to get the What:= section of the code to take the value of the copied cell.
I would like to create a macro that could archive entries from one sheet and insert them in another. I created one but the problem is that the entry has to be the same row each time.
Example:
Sheet 1 – is current jobs and sheet 2 is old jobs.
My macro moves an entry from Row A-5 of Sheet 1 and moves it to the top of Sheet 2.
I would like to be able to scroll through each entry select it and have it moved to the top of the Old Jobs sheet.
I would like to create macro, where it would on macro run copy text from active cell and find that value in another sheet (in column H) and select that cell.

This should occur each time the active cell is changed, whether by cursor keys or mouse. The effect would be similar to the row and column highlights at left and top of the worksheet.

I have got stuck on one piece of my code and having trouble fixing... Overall I am trying to find variable station name in cell L2 of Sheet 2 in Sheet 1 and then select and copy the data from the data in "cell L2 of Sheet 2" to the last entry of that row. I have attached an example test spreadsheet of the data and a macro is within Sheet 1 called test1. Please note that cell L2 in Sheet 2 will always be different station name and the station list in Sheet 1 will change with differing station name.

What I have is a sheet that is copied periodically from some source sheet, and on this sheet is a table. This sheet is called "Onsite Checklist Template" and it's table is titled "Checklist". I also have another sheet called "Loggers and Initial Notes" which has a tabled titled "Record", and then finally a title sheet call "Proj Details".
To clear this intro up - The sheets, in their order, is: "Proj Details", "Loggers and Initial Notes", "Onsite Checklist Template". The tables: "Record" on "Loggers..." and "Checklist" on "Onsite..."
When the user wants to make a new site visit, he/she fills in the requested date and then selects a button on "Proj...". When this button is selected, it copies the table data on "Record" and puts it on "Checklist", then inserts a new worksheet tab, always in the 3rd position (the title is based on the site visit date in which the user entered), which is a copy of "Onsite...". Now we have another sheet with a table called "Checklist1", and upon another new site visit, there will be another worksheet with "Checklist2", and so on.
On the "Onsite..." worksheet, there is a button on it which also gets copied with the worksheet so that every new worksheet has this copied "Checklist ???" and this button. I'm looking for a macro that, when the button is selected, will bounce the active sheet's table "Checklist ???" off of "Record" and make changes as needed.
"Checklist ???" data range is B11:M20 (the header is on row 10); "Record" data range is B29:Q78 (the header is on row 28); Column headers are titled the same, just that "Record" has 4 extra columns, 3 in the middle and 1 on the end. "Checklist ???" columns 1-12 to "Record" columns 1-7, 10-12, 14-15. The search criteria is the 4th column in both tables ("Trk #").
I need the macro to do the following:If it finds a match, then update "Record" as needed with data from "Checklist ???", changing whatever cell is different in the row that contains the matching "Trk #", so long as the cell on "Checklist ???" is populated (i.e, if a cell on the target row of "Record" has a value, but it's blank on "Checklist ???", then "Record" wins; if it's blank on "Record", but populated on "Checklist ???", the Checklist wins. I'm trying to create a copy of the active sheet and then rename the new copied sheet to what's in cell O4, which is a formula (see below) and then paste value cell O4 in B3 of the copied sheet. However, when I run this macro it doesn't seem to like the second line where I am renaming the sheet (run time error '1004').

Now i need to loop through these 8 sheets, storing the same range of each sheet into a matrix. I have the following

I have a workbook that I want to copy two separate ranges from and then post to two different sheets. Range one on the active sheet from A4:K(no of rows will vary) to sheet Savoury Year, and range two A64:K(no of rows will vary) to Site Services Year. Instead, the button unhides the sheet and the sheet the button is on comes forward again. I am unable to figure how to keep the sheet made visible forward. Here is the macro 'as recorded'.

Sheet 1 = sheet with formulas/functions for data analysis
Sheet 2 = sheet with table
I am trying to reference a column in the table on sheet 2 from sheet 1. Specifically, I am trying to set up Data Validation that will create a list of unique values from a column in the table. I tried:

There is a space in the header name of the column. but I was unable to get the validation to work even with columns that have just a single word name.

I need assistance referencing cells in other sheets. I have a summary tab which I would have each refenced sheet listed (named for the activity being billed). In a separate cell in the summary tab, I want to bring back the value of the total amount billed for that activity. The total value is in the same cell of each sheet, as all invoice tabs needing to be referenced are identical in layout.
There is one hitch to this, the sheets referenced have not yet been created (that would be too too easy), and the activity list in the summary sheet has place holder names that will change when the activity being billed is defined (hence prompting the biller to create the sheet to be referenced).
I am trying to reference a list of numbers in a sheet from another sheet. the problem is that whenever i try to copy and paste the formula it doesn't go to the next number in the ist it goes to the corresponding row. i.e. ='number'!H2 is in row 1 when copied down to row 32 i need it to become ='number'!H3 but instead it becomes ='number'!H33. I also need it to go across; however that was solved by making it ='number'!$H2 but i still cant figure out how to progress the row 1 at a time.
