Row Count Based On Cell Value

I have a table that is say 5 colums wide. The top row in the table are just labels (Number, Height, Width, Density, Mass for example)

The rows under that row would be filled with manually inputed data (except for "Number", this would automatically fill down)

The last row of this table, however long it may be (however many datapoints) has data that sums and averages the data above it (average height, width, density, etc)

So if I have say 10 samples, I need a total of 12 rows, 1 for the header and 1 for the footer and ten for the samples.

What I would like, is to have a cell that I input the number of samples into (say there are 53 samples, Cell A1 would say "53) and the table with the data would automatically adjust (insert or delete rows, with the cumulitive data adjusting appropriately)

Count Cells Based On Conditions In That And Other Cell(s)?

I have an issue log containing (separate) columns with dates, numbers and text.

One column (A) has the status (open/in progress/pending/closed/re-opened)
One column (B) has raise dates
One column (C) has close dates
One column (D) has the type of track (this is text, 3 types)

I want to count the amount of cells that have a close date before date x, given they are open (in Column A), and for a specific track (column D).

After creating a new sheet with a date range in one column encompassing all dates that occur in my column B & C, I tried to come up with a formula to count how many cells, and consequently how many issues, were open (or closed) on a particular date per track and as a whole.

So for instance; count cells in column C if Column C is before date 101112 and Column A is open and column D is "Build".

After trying COUNTIF and SUMPRODUCT the conclusion is I can't get it right.

Formula To Reset A Count Based On Cell Value

I've found a # of threads on this subject but have been unable to find the function I need.

I've got a spreadsheet (attached) to calculate vacation time, but I can't figure out how to make the used time reset on an anniversay date. For example, if Employee 1 has earned 80 hours of vacation but only used 40 by his 4 year anniversary date, how do I make unused time roll back to 80 the day of his anniversary?

Here's the structure: 2 Personal days given Jan. 1, then 2 more on July 1 to employees here at least 6 months. Those whose 6 months fall after or between are awarded 2 days on their anniversary then accrue as normal. Unused personal days are lost at the end of the year. Vacation time is 40 hours after 1 year, 80 hours at 3 yrs, then 120 hours at 5+.

a quick macro/VBA project that would allow my to duplicate existing rows based on the count in one of the cells. For example, my data currently looks like this:

I would like a to create a function in one cell that counts the unique text values in column A, but only when there is a corresponding 1 in column B. So the answer in the above example would be 4 (Apples, Bananas, Donut, Egg).

I have my workbook set up so that one worksheet contains the names of all my departments/sections listed with their 3 letter code (this can be anything from AAA-ZZZ, e.g 'FYH', 'JWK' or 'KZA' are all valid) in Column F. I then have Columns H, I, J & K blank and require them to be auto-filling based on data from 4 other worksheets - i'll detail what i need below, but Column H needs to be filled based on what it finds in worksheet 'Data 1', Column I should be filled based on what it finds in worksheet 'Data 2' etc. etc. I have four further worksheets that contain data based on the types of assets owned by the department/section, these are 'Data 1', 'Data 2', 'Data 3' and 'Data 4' and I use these as described above, with Column H referring only to 'Data 1', Column I only to 'Data 2', Column J only to 'Data 3' and Column K only to 'Data 4'.

What i need then, is a VBA that will take the value of a cell in column F on my main worksheet (called 'main') and then count the number of occurences of that value in Coulumn A on another worksheet and place the number of occurences into Column H, I, J or K based on which sheet it's checking.

For example, Cell 'F2' on my main worksheet contains the value "ABC". The formula I found is close but I need it to count, not sum.

=SUMIFS($C$36:$C$51,$B$36:$B$51,$B36)

Example data: [972 1] [972 2] [972 3] [214 1] [214 1] [765 1] [765 2]

I want the formula to count the different numbers in the second column based on the first column. The results should show, 972 equals 3, 214 equals 1, 765 equals 2.

I am trying to separate this out but it keeps putting this paragraph.

I would like to apply this formula to VBA and call to existing macro so that this is applied to all the cells in Col. A. How can I do that? Or, is there a better way to do it?

Buttom line, I'd like to see only the last 500 characters per cells in Col. A after I run the macro.

I need a way to find a value in a column which has one or more corresponding values in an adjacent column. Then take all of the corresponding values found and count all occurrences of the found values in another column. But I only want to count the entries if an adjacent column is not blank.

Not the easiest thing to describe. Starting to wonder if I need to think in reverse. I hope the attached example makes more sense.

Count Hours Between 2 Times Based On Hours In Another Cell

A1 is 10 (10 hrs worked) , A2 is 10:30am (in time), A3 is 9:00pm (out time), A4 needs to be the total hours and minutes between A2 and A3 based on the hours listed in A-1. What i need is a formula that will calculate the hours and minutes between the 2 times based on hours entered in A1 but that will also compensate for a manadatory 30 minute lunch that needs to be deducted from the total hours if hrs listed in A1 are more than 6.

example: worked 10HRS, 10:30am to 9:00pm, Total hrs is 10hrs 30min, which should be just 10 since the lunch is a none work time and must be subtracted.

If a person worked more than 6hrs, they must take a lunch. if they worked less, than 6 then they don't have to. I need a calcuation to recognize the greater than, less than factor into the equasion also.

Count One Cell And Then Count 52 Cells Later...

I'm a newbie to these forums, but I had a question that I couldn't find an answer to in the search feature. So, I joined and here I go....

I have a whole lotta data (nearly 600 "pages" of data) that I pasted into Excel. Unfortunately, it's formatted poorly and I'd like to make it nice and purty.

What I started to do was to create a 2nd sheet and then do an "=" and then click the spot with the 'group name' and then another "=" underneath it and then clicked the spot with the 'premium' info, etc.

After a couple of these, I figured that I could simply make a formula to help me out with it. Please see the attached screen captures for some detail on my issue.

Can someone help me create a formula or a way to count a certain cell and then 52 cells underneath it and display it?

If Cell Is Not Blank - Count Twice Otherwise Only Count Once

In any case, what I have is a set of cells that may or may not be filled, and which frequently get changed around. As I need the data counted in a specific way for "shenanigans", I am... getting quite tired with having to manually adjust this whenever my co-workers decide to adjust something (and I have been told that throwing bricks at them until they stop is not a valid option).

Basically, I want to count the cells in a way so that for every time a cell is filled, a counter repeats the previous number before continuing the sequence.

I.e

Rat
1

My issue is that I have no idea how to get this to count right. I know the theory of how I want this to work, but I just have no idea how to get it to function. The logic of how I want it to count is below, but, again, I just have no idea how to go about getting it to work right without manually typing in the counter, and without ending up with the code working wrongly when there's two filled cells at the top.

I am trying to count AE2:AE601 if AE2:AE601 <= 2 and if AF2:AF601 = the value of AH2 but the formula that I have create returns a 0 when it should be returning a 1.
Where did I go wrong? Here is what I have so far.

Sum/Count Based On Many Criteria

This is probably a simple question for excel gurus, but I am a molecular biologist, and don't set up these formulas every day. I have a table full of genotypes that I have indicated as 0, 1, 2 or 3 in columns. Column heads are gene names; row heads are subjects (patient numbers). I want excel to look in row 1 in column A and see if there is a 1 and also in column B in the same row to see if there is a 1, and if both are 1, count that patient in a tally. I want to be able to get a count of the number of patients with 1's in both columns. If someone can tell me what functions I use to set up this tally, I think I can set up more elaborate formulas. At the end, I want excel to look at several columns and tally the number of patients that have 1's in several columns.

L c r Column o gives me the total dollar amount of all columns. I have figured out how to tell how many of each I have sepratly and there respective dollar totals

How do count how many $0 amounts in column o belong to l r c respectively
In other words if I had 10 c's how many were $0 in o. Lets say I had 10 c's but only 6 had a total greater then $0 in column o that would be 60 percent

I would like to get the number of countries that a given "Name" has Partners in. (See example sheet for an illustration)

I have the ID of a group in column A. Column B represents Names. Column C gives Info about the country of "Name".

In column D I would like to get the information how many unique countries a "Name"'s group members are from. This means, not only within a single group, but in total over all groups. This means, that every same Name has the same number of countries in column D.

Formula in words:

"Sum of all unique countries in column C, if ID in column A matches any ID of Name in column B".

Attached is a workbook that better explains what I am trying to do. I am counting pastdue accounts from several different insurance companys. I have several pastdue brackets, and I need the total amount of pastdue accounts for each bracket, for each insurance company. I think the countifs function wrapped in an index match may get the job done, but I have not been able to figure it out. right now I have a countifs wrapped in an if statement, and it is producing incorrect results.

I have a summary sheet with a table and it needs to show how many people have 14 or more hours available based on a few reports. This is split by different levels (i.e Manager, Senior Manager etc) and various different areas.

I need a formula that will return a total for the number of cases that have been closed within 6 months. Also I need a percentage total for number of cases that have been closed within 6 months. So the conditions are that the case has been closed and within 6 months.

I tried to use a IF formula that returned a 1 if within 6 months and a 0 if outside 6 months and then just SUM() the column, however for some reason that just returns 0. I am using Excel2003
