I am trying to run a formula to turn dates into days. I have this =TEXT(D2, "dddd") formula to run, inserting the reponse into a new column called Days; but am running into trouble with setting it out in VBA, so that it only runs until the last row of the date column, AND automating the conversion because D2 will be the new row, whilst moving down the columns.
i am setting up a material iventory using excel 2007 i require a worksheet to contain a column for stock in (+) and stock out (-) and a running total column, but i am struggling to create a formula for this. my column's would be (J) for stock In (k) for stock out and (L) as Running total
Need to run formula against the output of another formula, but excel is giving me an error because its seeing the formula not the output. Is there a way make excel run the formula against the output?
I've attached a sample workbook. I'm trying to have a running total on column F once column G is completed with a ship date. The formula I have right now is =IF(G2:G55<0,SUM(F2:F22),0). but it's coming up w/zero.
I want to create a formula in A1 to automatically add each number (1+2+....)without creating a new formula every time. I want to start this operation in B1.
I’m working in Excel ’03 with a large table. I’m hoping to run a macro against a cell with value ‘X’ whenever that value is found within a particular column. I’d like this to be relative and not tied to a particular column so I can tweak it as needed down the road and run it against different columns.
In the example below, lets say I’m working with column B. I’d like something that would go through every cell in the column and run a macro when it comes across a particular value. Let’s say this value is x.
__A B C D E F 1 a x a a a x 2 b a b b b a 3 c x c c c c 4 f f f x f f 5 s s s a s s 6 g x g g g x 7 a a a a a a 8 s s s s s s
So, in my example, the macro would be run on B1, B3, and B6. And, if I wanted to go back in later, I could run this on column D and the macro would run on cell D4.
I am creating a spreadsheet for inventory use. I want to have a running total in (1) cell based upon a new/different number being entered into a different cell.
Column F, Row 7 (This will be a new/different number entered every day) Column G, Row 7 (Begins with a starting total of 2545)
I need Column G to add to it whatever number is entered into Column F, Row 7 and to keep the new total (ex. enter 10 into Column F/Row 7 & the total of Column G/Row 7 becomes 2555; if I then enter 20 into Column F/Row 7, Column G/Row 7 adds 20 to the original 2545, not the new total of 2555).
Column G is not keeping the new total, it reverts back to the original number of 2545.
I wonder if it is possible to formulate a formula in which average values are recalculated after every added record.
For example: Record 1 shows an amount of 200 so the average value after 1 record is (200/1) 200. Record 2 shows an amount of 250 so the average value after 2 records is ((200+250)/2) 225. Record 3 shows an amount of 210 so the average value after 3 records is ((200+250+210)/3) 220.
I don't want to calculate all averages manually and most probably there must be a formula that is able to recalculate the average value after another record is added to the file.
I have a string of numbers and characters and I have a Macro that I copy-pasted from somewhere online that REMOVES any character that is not a number.
Is a great Macro that transforms: "-a209 03 . 1 - 22 46" to 2090312246 I can send the code on request.
However the problem comes when running the macro into that string excel transforms it DIRECTLY into a Numeric. That is we are missing the first two, or first characters when they are zeros.
For example: "007 01 1.32.08" becomes 70113208 in stead of: 0070113208
And this is a problem.
I have tried to define the cell as text before running the macro. Fails. I have tried to re-define the cell afterwards as text but the zeros do not appear. Fails.
Including in the Macro a last minute section that forces the cell to remain as text...(seems easy! but I have do not know how to program in VBA)
I have some code here that I am using to find matches in Column D and then remove colored cell once the match is found. I am in putting the data line by line from a Barcode scanner and only want to run the macro if the date in Column A is today. Here is the code I am using.
I am creating a spreadsheet for inventory use. I want to have a running total in (1) cell based upon a new/different number being entered into a different cell.
Column B, Row 1 (This will be a new/different number entered every day - inventory in or out, so positive or negative number) Column D, Row 1 (This will be a running total based on numbers inserted in previous 2 columns)
Basically what I have is a key inventory. So there is column A with key number, B should be keys IN, C should be keys OUT, or ideally B would be IN and OUT meaning, for inventory IN input a positive number and for inventory OUT input a negative number, and D Should be total.
Column E represents number of keys currently in the inventory. I was going to hide the current inventory column so all you see is IN/OUT and total. So what I need is to be able to just come in and type in a number in the IN and/or OUT column, without having to add/subtract it with the number already in that column.
Bottom line, I'd like to be able to use IN and/or OUT columns to just type in numbers as they come and not have to worry about what's already in those columns and get correct total number.
I am trying to do a running total in one column with data added from the columnn before it. But I dont want the last amount in the running total to continue down the page I would like it to be either blank or zero amounts. Also if there is a zero amount in the first column the running total should show the amount previous.
Currently have a sheet with column A/B. Column A has any of the following letters to represent Wins, Losses, Ties, Overtime Loss, Shootout Loss - W, L, T, OTL, SOL. Column B has team point totals after each result. So after the win in row one, the team has 2 points. After the losses in rows 2 and 3, the team still has 2 points. After win in row 4 the team has 4 points. After win in row 5 the team has 6 points. After tie in row 6 team has 7 points.
W 2
L 2
L 2
W 4
W 6
T 7
What is the best formula or is there a formula to easily calculate running total based on content from column A this for over 1700 rows?
I'm trying to work out to most efficient way of making a quality monitoring system which uses traffic lights to show problem products.
The traffic light system need to obey the following "rules".
Each product is tested once daily When a product fails once it moves to Amber, When a product Fails twice in a row it moves to RedOne pass when a product is in Amber Status, will reset it to green. If a Product is in Red status, it much have 3 consecutive passes to reset to Green.
I have tried to use array formulae to look up a column for previous values in the past for this sort of thing, but with 100000+ rows it runs far too slowly.
Banana Problem? Product Result Traffic Light (0=green, 1=amber, 2=red)
Any way to construct a formula in excel that will look at a reference in one column and find the latest date from the data in an adjacent column for that specific reference?
Below is an exctract from a much larger sheet of the columns in question.
The result in the last column should be 21/05/2014 for anything with D.O.001 in the second column and 15/05/2014 for anything with D.O.002.
Date Decision agreed Disposal Order Latest Decision date for D.O.
I am trying to write a formula where the column header of the row in which a value other than 0 exists, will display for each instance (row) where a value exists in an array spanning 3 columns. So the result cell could be any of the three column headers, or a combination thereof.
I started the formula in P2 of the GL Detail-2012 tab. File attached.
Here is what I started: =INDEX($M$1:$O$1,SUMPRODUCT(COUNTIF($M$2:$O$67756,))). Not working.
I have a code that inserts a new column after every 7th column. I want to include a formula where every 7th column value is subtracted from the values present in the column before the 1st, or you can think of it as subtracting 7th column of the present group from the 7th column of the previous group. Example: The range of my data starts from col F, then
F (7th) New Column (G) H (1st) I (2nd) J (3rd) K (4th) L (5th) M (6th) N (7th) New Column (O) P (1st) Q (2nd) R (3rd)
So, New Column (O) = N - F and the next New Column (W) = V-N ...
NOTE: Column G can be ignored.
I want to add a looping function to this so that it will continue to subtract for the other respective columns as well. How do I incorporate this into the following code?
see the attached spreadsheet including the data. In Column AA I have created a formula that looks at Column B, and pulls each unique value from that column. add to this formula, or propose a new one, that pulls unique values into column AA if at least one of the rows has an "Actual Finalization Date" in column D that is in 2014?
I am creating a tool that is populating information off of another excel document and presenting the information in a different format then the data originally appears. Basically I am unsure how to create a formula, for example, in cell A1, that as I drag it down (A2, A3, etc) the column letter in the formula advances but the row number remains the same. In another words as the formula moves into cell A2, the "Sheet1!D3" changes to "Sheet1!E3", where as normally it would advance to "Sheet1!D4". I just started back up in excel, im sure this is way easier then I am making it seem but I have been unable to come up with a solution.
I need a formula to run down a column DCapture.JPG (starting at 142), when it finds the last entered value it needs to display the corresponding value from column J into cell AA21.
If you see the attached photo, the last entered data in column D would be 1, AA21 would be saying -30 (J205)
I have a formula that counts if a date range is present. However I need to change it to count another column only if that date range is present. For example a17 a50000 the user will enter the date of the order. and in column B has the order number. I want the formula to count the order numbers for a data range in column A. Here is what I have but it is counting the dates in col A not the order numbers in B?
I have a form in which users will manually enter a date in Column A. I would like to create a formula in Column B which will add 4 days to the date based upon Column A. However, the 4 days should only be added to a select set of dates which I would like to specify. If the date is not found in this select set of dates, then the result in Column B should be the same date as Column A.
I am wanting to paste formula from N1 till N X (X = varaiable row) where X reliant on Column A Row X. If Column A Row X has character "=====" it should paste N1 Formula all the way down till N Row X which is equal to A Row X containing "=====" .
I might be sounding complicated over here but it is a simple equation.. I have tried to approach this in the capacity i could by condition if Column A row x is blank delete the row.
I need a formula to return column header if there is data in the column, any data. But I also need to return the second, third, fourth header with data too
In column A row 2, I have =IF(M8"",$M$1,IF(N8"",$N$1,IF(O8"",$O$1,IF(P8"",$P$1,IF(Q8"",$Q$1,IF(R8"",$R$1,IF(S8"",$S$1,IF(T8"",$T$1,""))))))))
This returns the row 1 header for the first instance of data in row 2 columns M thru T But in B2, I need the second header with data in the column.
I need the results in yellow (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) from the array to it's left
1St match2nd 3rd 4thColumn MColumn NColumn OColumn PColumn QColumn R Column MColumn PColumn QData data2Data3 Column NColumn OColumn PColumn R Data Data2 data3 data4
Would use match/index but can't increment it to the second or 3rd match
I'm currently using this formula to calculate the average values in column B where the value in column A ='s E1 eg:
=AVERAGEIF($A$2:$A$21,E1,B2:B21)
Instead of doing this however, I need the formula to calulate the average from column B where the "Date" in column A ='s the year and month I specify in other cells.
Year value specified in: F1 Month value specified in: G1
