View 4 RepliesI have a UserForm in which i have inserted a CommandButton. I also have a Table on a Sheet in Excel that i would like to save as PDF.
When i click the CommandButton on the UserForm i would like the SaveAs screen to come up and have the Table (or Used Range in the Excel Sheet) as the selection to be Saved as .PDF format.
i want to create a save button in sheet 1, on clicking the same the data entered in the particluar cells of sheet 1 should get saved in sheet 2 in given format
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet with 32 worksheet, I want to write a macro to "save the work, save as.. in a specific location and with a specific name and then reseting all data in specific cells.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a update/Save button on a spreadsheet. So when clicked it updates another sheet and saves the workbook.
how can i have it run the macro when they don't click the button and do
File -> Save.
Just playing around again, seen this file a person posted today and like it. I wounder if a Save As button can be made. This would just be a shortcut to save projects from a master form. Here is a example of my project.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'd like to create a button within my excel datasheet that does a save as based on the name specified in a certain cell..
for cell a20 lets say has the file name (hello123456)
so i want to make a button within excel that when clicked will save the entire file as hello12346.xls on the desktop
is this possible?
I have created a toolbar button to save a file as a specific name based on a cell value. The macro runs fine, but the button changes priority when the new file is saved.
i.e. the original file is called "quoting_tool" and the newly created file is called "quoting_tool_'B3'". However, the next time I click this button in the original file, it requests the new file as the home of the toolbar button. I have tried saving the original file after adding the button, but that doesn't work.
I know how to add a save and close button but i do not know how to make it instantly available in every new workbook that i open. Currently i click the button and it looks for the macro in the first excel book that i created it in.
how do i make that macro become a default in every workbook?
I have the following code behind a save button,
I need to modify it as it currently allows the user to save even if there is no values in D2 or D3. I need it to look at these cells first as well as A17-F25 and if there is no data in any of these cells it either brings up an error message saying you need to enter data in these cells to save!
Also, at present the user has to click on the default save button within excel to save changes made after the initial save, could this be added to the button I have created?
Here is my ...
My sheet has a calculator that outputs a value based on inputs. I also have a pick list on top labeled Q1-Q4. Depending on which value is selected on the picklist, the input values will output a different amount. I want to create a button which allows me to take this output and save it in another cell under a heading Q1, Q2 etc. depending on which Q was selected in the original picklist. In essence I want a button that records each output onto the same sheet by by quarter(Q).
View 9 Replies View RelatedWould I be able to save a Macro button in a CSV File since every time I open spreadsheet it disappears and my system only accepts CSV.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a sheet name "all" Sheet 15. What I want to do via VBA is sort range B4:I803 sort by Column G (ascending) then by Column H (ascending).
Have this sort activated by a command button or once the WB is saved then activate the sort prior to saving. The former is the preferred but if it's not to much trouble with coding then the former and latter solution would be great.
Not to sure if it can be done but i would like to have a button on my spread sheet that once pushed it automaticaly saves my worksheet as a PDF in a selected company folder in my documents.
I know if you go to file and save as PDF, then save in selected folder will work, just looking for a quicker way so my staff just needs to push one button on the worksheet and it does it all. (dummy proofing the form i guess)
I have a spreadsheet that has several formulas that update once all the values are inputted however I noticed that if I drag the formulas down the column, the cells does not update until I click the save button.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a button in a template file, that when clicked, saves the file as a new file with file name based on data in certain cells.
I want to disable the ability to save the file with the Save icon or Ctrl-S, but the button still needs to be able to save it (the button is technically doing a Save As, so no problem there). But, I, as the administrator of the template, need to somehow be able to save updates to the template file. Can this be accomplished by coding Save to work when used with a secret key combination that only I know (I can put it in password-protected VB code)?
Then, as if that's not tricky enough, the trickier part is that once the file is saved as the new file (no longer the template) - re-enable the Save button and Ctrl-S so the user can then save it as many times as they want.
Excel 2007 I have a button that will export the worksheet to pdf and save it as Acrobat requires. I have a network folder set up and it saves the file with the name that I have programed in the macro. I would like to have the file name set up to be what is in cell C3 then a space and the specific words.
For example, if C3 contains "123456" I want the file to be named "123456_Warranty Calculator"
I will end up using this in several worksheets which will have a different name as part of the file name (based on the worksheet name).
I would also like to have the last part of the file name be the worksheet name. ie, "Warranty Refund", "PDR Refune", etc.
I will have several users that will be using the workbook and possible saving at the same time and want each person to be able to find the one they saved instead of it being overwritten.

I have a fairly elaborate close-down routine for my workbook.
1) Quit out of fullscreen (restore initial state of excel before saving)
2) Hide all sheets but one (enforces cant do anything unless macros enabled)
3) Automatically save without a prompt
4) Close the workbook
I've researched it well and implemented it to the point where it works, but only if the user clicks the excel application close button -- the "X" in the titlebar (hence not in fullscreen).
However, if I launch the process via a userform button click, then for some reason the
DisplayFullscreen = False, Sheets hiding, and save codes have no effect (fullscreen persists, sheets are not hidden, no file is saved) in the Workbook_BeforeClose() subroutine....
I repeat: all the above works fine if process was launched by "native" excel button, but does not have any effect if launched from a userform commandbutton. (?!?!) any ideas what's going on?
I'm including my code so you can get an idea how it's structured.... by it's pretty "by the forum" as far as I can tell...
Private Sub CloseButton_Click()
If(1) Then
'Method 1 - close directly from userform command button
With ThisWorkbook
'.RunAutoMacros (xlAutoClose)
.Close
End With
Else
'Method 2 - set a timer to call a function to perform
' "ThisWorkbook.close" in a function outside of the userform
CustMenuCloseTimer = Now + TimeSerial(0, 0, 2)
Application .OnTime CustMenuCloseTimer, "CustMenu_CloseAction"
End If
End Sub
1) We need the Input screen to auto clear the fields once the " Save " button has been pressed and data transfered to the appropriate tracking sheet
2) We want to ensure that if any of the Red cells are empty the " Save " button will give an error ( one complication If the "Transfer Type" highlighted in Blue has an entry " either STD/ISD/ESP " then " Call Purpose " needs to be mandatory
3) somehow the information on the "Comment " field is not getting captured
4) If possible we want a warning indicator if two rows in a tracking sheet ( example London ) are the same based on Coloums B to I ( except C )
5) Is there any possibility to give a pop calender in the " scheduled date " section of Input screen (Row 33)
am using Excel 2010 and having issues trying to save a worksheet to a specified file location with the save date....
I have tried several posts form this forum and elsewhere and can't seem to get the macro to do what I want.....
I want to save a 'worksheet' from an open workbook that I use for updating information to the same file path as the workbook with the date the file saved...
I have an expense report, which was originally done in Excel 2003. It still prompts users to open as read only however if they select no, they are not prompted for the password, and it has allowed them to save, so when the next person opens it, they have the previous person's report instead of the clean workbook. I have tried everything to put a password onto it. I know this is really basic stuff, but maybe I am missing a step? I want the end user to be able to make all the changes they want in read only mode and then do a save as, but if the select No when prompted "Open as Read-only?" they should have to put a password in.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat I am trying to do is that I have an excel file with macros and it is a read-only file. In order for the user to save, I want them to only be able to save as a .xlsx file as it disables all macros. If for whatever reason, the user wants to save the file as another .xlsm file, they should be allowed but before they save, a "are you sure you want to save as .xlsm?" message should pop up.
All the options in the save as box should still be available in case they want to save in that particular format. Just that the .xlsx should be the default.
I'm trying to make a macro check if a file has been saved (ever). If so I want the macro to do a regular save (with already esatablished filename and location) before it proceeds with the rest of the macro. If the file hasnt been saved (if it runs from a new workbook) then I want it to pop up the save.as dialog, so that the user can choose the name and location of the file before the macro continues .
The macro itself is saved in personal.xlsx.
I would like to add some icons on the left side of excel open file pane to faciliate my work. Because i need to load some files under the same folder many times a day. Does anybody know how to do that? I've seen people has more icons on the pane before. The defaut setting has only 'History', 'My Documents', 'Favorites', 'Desktop' and ' My nutwork places' on it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEach of the worksheets in my model use A1 as a control cell for any errors and inconsistencies. My aim is to disable save and close commands in case A1 is not equal to 0 in any of the worksheets.
The code I currently use for that purpose is as follows.
I have a togglebutton for an excel sheet in use for scoring psychological tests. When pressed, the button higlights the cells where a raw score is inserted.
What I need is a code to higlight the togglebutton when pressed, eg. green (colorindex 4). The button is white. How to do this?
Below is the code, It has more lines than needed, but it works.
Private Sub ToggleButton1_Click()
'FKV TOGGLE'
ActiveSheet.Unprotect "manisk"
If ToggleButton1 Then
[Code] ........
I received this code from an example I found once upon a time that was originally submitted by someone else. Right now the code enters the current date in a cell of the same row as the checkbox when it's checked. I need to revise it, or come up with something similar, that will reference the value of a cell when it is in the same row as the button (from the Forms toolbar) that is clicked to activate the macro. First of all, I don't know how to reference a Forms button in VBA.
Sub Process_CheckBox()
Dim cBox As CheckBox
Dim LRow As Integer
Dim LRange As String
LName = Application.Caller
Set cBox = ActiveSheet.CheckBoxes(LName)
' Find row that checkbox resides in
LRow = cBox.TopLeftCell.Row
LRange = "B" & CStr(LRow)
'Change date in column B, if checkbox is checked
If cBox.Value > 0 Then
ActiveSheet.Range(LRange).Value = Date
'Clear date in column B, if checkbox is unchecked
Else
ActiveSheet.Range(LRange).Value = Null
End If
End Sub
Here is some other code I already created. Unfortunately, because I don't know how to do the row reference, I had to create 25 different macros, which just bulks up the size of my file and slows it down. But here is what I'm trying to accomplish in my macro:.............
I currently am using a form button to create new rows.
I need two different kind of buttons. I have a button that does this-
VB:
Sub InsertRow()
'this inserts a row where the button is clicked.
Dim r As Range
[Code]....
However, when I try and create these codes using a Command button (I need it for the color), I get the error
"unable to get the buttons property of the Worksheet class"
P.S one other thing, say the button is in row 3, and Cells A1 and A2 are merged, when you click the button in row 3, it should extend the merge to A3.
Context: I have a spreadsheet that contains a list of employee names and their certifications. I want to be able to assign a button to each employee in column B with a macro that is able to zip files from a folder that contains that employees name.
The following code assigns buttons to each employee in column B. At the moment the code I have is able to assign the macro "Zip" to each button.
[Code] .....
Now, this Zip macro is able to zip the file for the employee "Anthony Tran". However I need it to be able to recognise which employee's button I've clicked and search the same files as above except with that employees name instead of "Anthony Tran".
If it makes things easier, the code for creating buttons for each employee is able to name that button as the employees name that it represents.
This is probably really straight forward but cant see why it happens, the following macro works fine when called by a button created by the form toolbar but doesnt when called by a command button, get the runtime error 1004, "select method of range class failed"
ActiveSheet.Select
Range("B4:B37").Select
Selection.ClearContents
Range("G4:G37").Select
Selection.ClearContents
Range("B1").Select
Selection.ClearContents
Range("D1").Select
Selection.ClearContents
Range("F1").Select
Selection.ClearContents
Range("J1").Select
Selection.ClearContents
Range("M2:M3").Select
Selection.ClearContents
Range("B4").Select
ActiveWorkbook.Save
Application.Quit
