Aug 8, 2008I am looking for a piece of code that I can use.
Basically if cell A2 is non blank then I want cell C2 to display My Text. I want to do this for every cell down to about A250.

Aug 12, 2014I have one column that contains an If statement formula and would like the next column to then work off of the first column (i.e. if that 1st column returns a value then then adjacent column uses that result).
What is happening now is that it is returning #value (because I guess technically the cell isn't blank?)

Aug 13, 2009I own a Hair Salon which collates its daily takings using a spreadsheet. A section of this takings sheet asks staff to enter which Products have been sold and what they where sold for (RRP), so that once all products have been entered, totals at the end of the day allowing the end -of-day "till-up" process to reconcile purchases and services rendered aginst cash and cheques received.
Unfortunately there is over 600 products to choose from and this evergroes as new products are introduced by manufacturers. Names are long and often very similar, and product price manual listings are slow to reference, therefore the customer has to wait while the staff find the right product and select the right price.
All of this is subject to human error. What i would like is simply to enter part of the product name into a Cell and the right product to be visibly selectable and the price automatically added to an adjacent cell.

Jan 23, 2014I have a formula in my spreadsheet that shows dates for servicing of products. Column F show's Date Last Serviced and the adjacent column (G) then shows Date Next Service. When there is nothing on the F column's cell then the date that appears on my spreadsheet is 31/12/00. It looks messy and I would rather have a formula to make it so that if the F column is blank, then the adjacent cell in G column should stay blank also.
To automatically calculate the next service due date, I have variants of this formula that creates the dates in G column:
=DATE(YEAR(F4)+1,MONTH(F4),DAY(F4))
I tried adding as an extra part, for example:
=DATE(YEAR(F4)+1,MONTH(F4),DAY(F4))&If(F4 = 0, "", F4)
It always brings back the answer of 366, and does not make the cell blank...

What I would like to do is to fill in B1:B3 with A0001 and B6:B9 with A0002. The number of rows in each set of data will vary, but the identifier (A000X) will always be located in the row in column B adjacent to the last entry for that set of data in column A and there will always be empty cells between data sets. The number of data sets will also vary.

Jan 28, 2014I have 2 tabs in a 2013 workbook. Inventory Receipts and lookups. One of the Data verification lookups I have is a drop down list in each cell in Column B (eg: Cat, Dog, Mouse) In the lookups tab I have another cell range containing the sounds (eg: Meow, Bark, Squeak).
What I am trying to acheive is, if B2 contains Cat, then return Meow in B3, if B2 contains Dog then return bark in b3 and if B2 contains Mouse return squeak in B3. Ideally I would like the formula to return the text from my lookup sheet (eg: 'Lookups'!C2,'Lookups'!C3,'Lookups'!C4). So depending on which option they choose from my animal drop down list .. the correct noise would automatically fill in.
2003 - Merging Four Adjacent Cells With Text And/or Blank Cells
Jun 14, 2008I am trying to merge text, in four adjacent cells in the same row (say cells A1,A2,A3 and A4), into a single cell (say cell A5).
I would like a comma or full stop and then a space between each item merged (cell A5).
The text to be merged may appear in any one of the four cells (cells A1 to A4). Those cells without text are blank.
Only where all 4 cells are blank, will I need cell 'A5' to indicate this.
The formula needs to be relative as I will need to copy the formula down the spreadsheet so that it applies to additional rows.

What I need is a formula that will search down Column B until it finds the first blank cell. Then report what is directly to the left of that cell.
So If the first blank cell is in $B$5, it will report what is in $A$5.

Jul 19, 2014I have some text in a cell, which is longer than the width that I am going to make that cell. When I don't wrap the text, it cuts it off at the end of the cell.
Since each column represents a day in a calendar, it would be incorrect to merge the two cells, but I don't want the text hidden, since I need to print the final product.

Mar 26, 2009I have a page that shows staffing levels. If the member of staff is in work then I have to enter a value of 1 on each member so I can calculate the number of staff present. If they are on leave or similar then I enter a text value such as AL which discounts then from the total staff.
Is there a way to have the default value of 1 in a range of cells if the cell is blank automatically? Can this be done via VB?

A1 = 5700
B1 = 235
C1 = 17:14
D1 = 5922
$E$1 = 09:01
$F$1= 3
$E$1 and $F$1 are (the only) absolutes/constants.
A2 contains the following:
=IF(A1>D1,B1,IF(A1+B1<D1,"d",IF(AND(C1<$E$1,B1<$F$1),"",B1))))
This translates as:
=IF(5700>5922,235,IF(5700+235<5922,"d",IF(AND(7:14<09:01,235<3),"",235))))
The result is a variable/number (235), "d" or a blank cell ("").
This formula is in a column and works fine where there are numbers in corresponding cells. The problem arises with corresponding cells which appear blank (show no values) but contain references to other cells: they result in a "d" when nothing should be displayed.
So while a corresponding blank cell is correct if it shows no values, it gives me this problem - I don't want "d" or anything.

Mar 13, 2008For example if I were to take the data in cells d3($358), d4($321), d5($130), d6($82) and skip a cell to now make the same data into cells d3, d5, d7, d9. Next, the data in cells f3, f4, f5, f6 would be merge into the blank cells of d4, d6, d8, d10.
The final result would look like column B. I have over two years of sales data in two separate columns that I need to merged into one column. Is there easier way without a simple cut and paste one cell at a time as this would take an enormous amount of time to complete? I’m not that good with VBA codes so a formula works good, but if VBA is the way to go then tell how to enter it on my worksheet.
