Sheet 1 has 9 inputs (rows) from 5 sources: A,B,C,D,E (columns)
Sheet 1 also has flag columns to match inputs based upon similiar values (names) in description columns.
Sheet 2 - has two tables,
first table matches values of different sources w/ similiar descriptions
onto the same row.
table two: displays, min. value for each row in first table ...
I'm using Excel 2002 and am having trouble with what I thought was a simple conditional command. On part of the spreadsheet I have 3 columns: Hours (D5), Cost Per Hour (E5) and Total Cost (F5). Here's what I'm trying to do.....
If there is no value in the Hours then the Total Cost should show an empty cell and conversly if there is a value in Hours then calculate Hours*Cost Per Hour in the Total Cost cell. My condition for cell F5 is as follows: =IF(D5="","",SUM(D5*E5)). Whilst it works if there is a value in D5, when empty F5 shows #VALUE!
I have a table with a lot of fields ( Date, Type, Name, Status ...etc). I want to make 2 textbuttons to put the Date intervals and a combo box to put the Type possibilities. After i put those condition i want to press a button to show only rows (from initial table)who are between data i entered and with kind of type i select.
I'm creating an excel workbook that will allow any business or accounting student to go in and create their four year plan while giving them all of their requirements for their particular degree.
One of the features I wanted to have with this program is that it wouldn't display all the worksheets for each major, but rather the ones you choose that you are associated with. I was going to have a drop down menu on the first page that allows you to choose your majors, those being accounting, or business administration with its 5 focuses.
If I just allow all the worksheets to be shown, there would be 6 in total and I thought it might get confusing for a student who's only taking one of the 6. My hope is that on the first page, when you choose one of the options, it would automatically display the hidden worksheet that goes along with that major.
I need a formula that returns the sum of cell N12 from multiple worksheets where cell A9 matches a particular month and cell K7 matches a dept name (such as Scientific).
To explain further, in say 50 worksheets, I want to pick out all the March sheets, for Scientific, and sum all the N12 cells from those sheets.
I've been trying to alter an array formula i've used previously, but gotten completely lost.
First, I realize there are plenty of hide cells threads but I have yet to find one pertaining to my situation and I apologize in advance if I this solution has already been posted.
The Problem: I am looking for macro code to a toggle button that will hide various rows that have no value between multiple sets of rows. The toggle should refresh the format of the rows as the information that was blank could later on have value.
The Setup: For each set of rows, the first row will have the label T and the last will have the label S. In between T and S there can be data. If the cells between T and S are all empty then the rows including T and S should be hidden other wise only the non blank cells between T and S should be visible.
The Reason: I have a master database worksheet, there are four copies of the master database worksheet each entitled phase1, ""2, ""3, & ""4 respectively. These phase sheets are linked to the master sheet and show the entire row's data based upon the beginning cell of each row showing either phase1, ""2, & so on.. The data is broken up into many sub databases and traditional auto filters or advanced auto filters will not be applicable as the title of the data and the empty rows in between need to be hidden if the data is empty.
Need to kown if Index and Match can be used if you have to criterias. Below is a glimse of my sheet. The data does come from 2 sheets, I don't know if that is another reason, doubt it, but needed to tell you just incase. I have sales information and I just want a quick view of the sales by associate by date. My 2 condition are the associates id# and the date.
I have a problem finding the correct formula for counting matches with conditions between 2 non-equal ranges in Excel. The sheet is a try at making a working schedule template a bit automated.
For Week 1 each cell in the H16:H25 has a drop-down list (originating from BD30:BD50) where a work position can be chosen. The fixed list in BD30:BD50 starts with “<<SELECT>>” which is the default choice for the cells in H16:H25, and then “HOLD” before continuing with various work position names. K16:K25 is shift number 1 on Monday, L16:25 is shift 2 on Monday, and so on until Shift number 6. Then the rest of the days of the week follow (each with 6 shifts). Monday through Sunday (with 6 shifts for each) ranges over K16:AZ25. In the cells in K16:AZ25 the following can be entered: “x” (work), “o”(off), “-“ (leave).
The issue is the formula in each of the K26:AZ26 cells which are to total each of the shift columns . I want to count all the “x” in each column, but ONLY if the positions chosen in H16:H25 matches one of the positions in the list in BD30:BD50. NOT if a cell in H16:H25 displays “<<SELECT>>” or “HOLD” (even if it has a “x” entered in one of the Shift cells).
I am trying to write a code in excel vba where I need to match specific text in multiple columns and if text is matched then I need to insert new blank column after the specific text.
My code is like this.
Dim Col_num As Integer Col_num = Application.WorksheetFunction.Match("Customer Defined 06", Range("6:6"), 0) + 1 Columns(Col_num).Select Selection.EntireColumn.Insert Cells(6, Col_num).Select
This code is working fine in single condition but when I enter another condition then its giving me an error i.e Type Mismatch.
I m trying to evaluate part of a string to determine if a number and if 6 char's in length. If Yes, return the 6 digit number, else 0
My formula below returns a #VALUE! error It worked before I added the 6 char length condition, but sometimes return values of greater length that I do not need.
I have a spreadsheet that holds salary information. At the moment it shows against each person the highest salary for a person of the opposite ***. What I would like to do is have another cell that shows the names of all people who have that salary.
E.g. if the highest comparable salary for someone of the opposite *** is 30000 then I would want a list of all the people with that salary.
Is it possible to do a look up that would show all the results that match certain criteria?
I'm having problems with a formula. Here is what I would like to do:
I have a named range named "J46DATA".
If B5 returns "N/A" when matching to "J46DATA" and S5<>0 then return "DELETE" or IF B5 returns "N/A when matching to "J46DATA" and S5 = 0 then return " ALERT". anthing else can return false.
I started of with =IF(AND(ISNA(MATCH(B5,J46DATA,0))
But it wouldn't let me put the S5<>0 after that lat parantheses.
I am trying show an exact match of data between two worksheets, but I need the match function to look up 2 columns - i.e. reference number AND order number between two different worksheets.
In the example attached, I am able to find the match of one column only (order number)
What I'm having a hard time is trying to get information from column C to pull into a cell, for a specific student (column A), but only when the entry happens between two set of dates (column B).
Column A = Student Name Column B = Entry Date Column C = Entry
So in a different worksheet, the names of the students will already be on the report and each column following will have a date range of a week. So for column B I want the entry that only happened between "09/07/09-"09/13/09". No student will have more than one entry a week so I just want it to locate the entry and fill in automatically. This will repeat for each week after as well.
Match Combinations & Show Those With Greater Than X Matches
Option Explicit Dim Data_1() As Integer, Data_2() As Integer Dim N1 As Integer, N2 As Integer, Nx4 As Integer, nRow As Integer Dim I As Integer, J As Integer, K As Integer, L As Integer
Sub Show_4Pluss() Range("A1").Select Application. ScreenUpdating = False N1 = Range("H1").Value N2 = Range("P1").Value Redim Data_1(N1, 6), Data_2(N2, 6) nRow = 1 Do While ActiveCell.Offset(nRow, 17).Value <> ""...................
attached is a returns sheets that a qty is logged against part number every week. Some of the data I can use pivots on ( no problem ), but I have an issue on the returns tab where I think index/match / sum or something else will be better. At the moment because of the layout of data I have to drag each week number into the pivot value, do a greater than zero filter then summarize as a sum (yuk) I just cant get my head around index/match /sum. It would be great just to be able to enter a week number, and all the warehouse, part numbers and qty came through. There is a short explanation on the returns tab of what im looking for.
so in essence I want week numbers across the top, but be able to enter a year on the returns tab that looks at the week number. I don't know enough about the formula to change.
I am running some VBA code that works fine, until I specify a filename that contains embedded blanks. Hopefully, the following code and screen captures will demonstrate what is happening. First the code that opens the files ...
If there is data in the cell then it is to be left. If there is no data in the cell then I would like to show the value 0.
I have tried using a circular reference, using the formula =IF(ISBLANK(B1),0,B1) and other similar formulas but they dont work as the formula overwrites the data in it.
I would like to highlight cells is two conditions are met:Cell = 0Offset(0,-1)>0I tried the conditional format wizard and entered a formula: =IF(AND($J2=0,$I2>0)) But I keep receiving formual errors, which I understand, because it appears to be incomplete formula. But I am not sure what else I need to add to the formula in the conditional format wizard
Is there a way to make a cell populate certain text based on conditions of other cells without putting the formula in the cell you want to populate. So that someone could type other text into the cell if the conditions were not met?
In the xls for each step I have 2 raws-planned and actual. Step planned duration is populated manually over the weeks. Before that row we have another reflecting the actual step status per week
I would like to find a way how cell reflecting the actual status of a step can be automatically populated (coulored) based on the colour/value of activities that are planned for that week and for that step.Activities are listed below the step and again have planned and actual row.
The rule should be : if for a week we have several activities all of them should be finished in order to have step stataus auto populated as green. If a single activity planned for that week is not done-then weekly step status should be red.
The activities for each step are grouped below the step. It seems that one of the difficult part in that request would be how formula will understand where starts and finishes the activities that belong to one step. To get that happen I placed a column showing step and another column where we activity.
I need to change the color of a specific cell when conditions are met in a different cell and it seems like it may be beyond the scope of simply applying conditional formatting. What vba code would look like in proper syntax to make the following statement true. IF cell value Q4 is >=cell value S4 AND cell value R4 is <100 Then cell Q4 turns red and IF cell value Q4 is >= cell value S4 AND cell value R4 =100 then cell Q4 turns green. it may also be useful to know that the "cell values" in this example will be dates and not straight values. this may be possible to do using conditional formatting, but i cannot find a formula that works.
I have 2 different formulas that I need changed in a similar way.
The first formula is for cell AV11: =SUM(BI11,BP11,BW11,CD11,CK11,CR11,CY11,DF11,DM11,DT11,EA11)+10
Every cell starts off blank.
What I need is for cell AV11 to always start off blank until data is entered into one of the other cells. The problem is that since the sum always needs to be +10 only when data is entered in the other cells, I don't know how to keep 10 from showing in cell AV11 when no data is typed in the other cells.
The other formula is for cell CO39: =(CU8)+3
I pretty much need the same thing. If no data is entered in cell CU8, then I do not want cell CO39 to show the 3.
I'm a Graphic Designer and am just starting to learn how much fun Excel can be. I'm still learning things though and this is an easy one I think, but I can not figure it out.
All I want to do is the following...
If there is any data present at all in column B on a particular row, then I want the number on the same row in Column D to be divided by 2.
In the example below... TB_5129-001 is present in B8. So I would want $45.00 (D8) to be divided by two automatically. Also, if B8 were to be blank i would want D8 to be left alone.
I have a worksheet with 3 columns in it. these are entitled "area", "uploaded" and "status". uploaded will be a numerical value and status will either be "awaiting signoff" or "completed" what i need to do is list all of the different areas and add the "uploaded" values together IF the status is completed.
