Sort Text By Character Length, Insert Spaces, Merge Cells

I have multiple columns with many rows of unique text in each. Here is an example of what the 1st few rows of column a and b might look like:

A___________B
hboc______dds
jk________optg
hbv_______pl

FIRST:
I would like to be able to sort the rows by the character length in a column. So, it would look like this (if sorted by 1st column):

A___________B
jk_________optg
hbv________pl
hboc_______dds

Character Length Formula - Add Trailing Spaces

Is there a fomula that can add trailing spaces. For example....I need a certain feild to be 11 Characters in length. So lets say in Column A, I have a bunch of different words:

House
Bird
Up
Down
Yes
No

I would like to put a formula in column B that takes my original text and adds blank spaces to the end of it until it's 11 Characters. So "House" in Column A would be "House " in column B.

Sort Cells Based On Text Length

I need to write a Excel VBA (2003) code that can arrange the cells of one column based on the character length. An example is this:

Column Data before Running VBA

(Column A)
cat
oranges
apple

Column Data after Running VBA

(Column A)
cat
apple
oranges

I been doing this manually by using the LEN() command in an adjacent column (Column B) and sorting Column A. based on Column B. However, I wish to do this all in a VBA code that does not rely on how many rows are in Column A. I have dozens of excel sheets with various number of rows for Column A. Therefore, the VBA code has to also figure out when the last non-empty row is in Column A. Can anyone offer their suggestions to my problem?

Insert Appropriate Number Of Blank Spaces In Cells B Through H

I am having trouble trying to figure out how to insert blank cells:

I need to insert cells, in columns B through H, equal to the number of returned IDs in column B.

Please take a look at the spreadsheet I attached.

Here is the code I am using to separate the IDs in column B so that I get one ID in each A cell. When I do this it separates them great, but then I have to manually go in and insert cells down so that the rest of the rows match up with the right ID.

Insert New Row To Add More Rows To Merge Range With Wrap Text?

I have a sheet that has a section in range (c18:k25) (it is merged and text is wrapped) If that amount of space is not adequate to fit all their information I would like to add a macro that when activated it asks how many rows would you like to add and then based on that number whether it be 1-10 it would insert a new row to that merged range so they can continue adding more information . I have the sheet locked down to prevent changes so it would have to be unlocked and then re-locked within the macro.

I know there is a len() function but I don't know how to use it so it displays my char length on the go.

Character Length Parameter Not Working

I'm trying to set my code to force the user to enter in 8 characters for an employee ID within a text box. Currently when I attempt to enter in an employee ID, my message box alert appears after the first digit. So instead of validating the user has entered in 8 characters for the employee ID, the msgbox alert appears as soon as the user enters in the first number. I cannot figure out what I am missing within my code.

In Userform1 I have several textbox and one commandbutton1. If I mouseclick on a textbox and click commandbutton1 the letters YES is entered in the texbox. To prevent double click entry into the same textbox I set the maximum length property at 3. However, setting the maximum length to 3 does not work. Subsequent commandbutton1 clicks will result in an infinite YES entries.

Is the maximum length property disabled when commandbutton entries are applied?

What I would like to do is combine the information from a row of cells into a new cell. For example:......

I can't seem to find a way to do it though. If I allow the cells to be imported as one cell (rather than 4) it inserts spaces between the groups of numbers, which I don't want.

I have a formula that is dependent upon a column of cells containing text. Cells within this column randomly have an additional space (" ") following the words. With this invisible space, the formula doesn't work as intended.

2) dELETES THE LAST 3 COLUMNS

3) Initial 6 letters from each cell (Q0001=) UPTO (Q00011=)

4)Inserts new row at top from Q1 TO Q11

Remove Characters / Spaces After Text For All Cells Within Range

Initially I'm simply copying a data table from a web page using "Ctrl + A" then "Ctrl + C", and then pasting the data straight onto a new worksheet so I can work with it. (After temporarily re-naming the old sheet)

But I keep finding what looks like double-spaces after some of the important text within the Range of cells I'm working with. I need to be able to select & conditional format the values of the text in some columns of the sheet, so need to loose these trailing spaces.

Unfortunately, it's not consistence as to how many spaces trail the text I need. Sometimes it's only one space, sometimes its two spaces ?

So far, I've had mixed success with a recorded "Replace" code but none of the other codes I have found on forum pages either don't work all or seem to give any consistent results. E;g; TRIM, CLEAN

I suspect my problem is, I do not know how to call the code properly, or trying to work with too large a range ?

The start of my code reads:

I would need a formula where I can indicate the letter I want and the range of cells where to look at, and having as result how many occurances there are...

Remove Text Character From Cells With Numbers

I want to change the character ~ with . in order to be able to make them numeric values to be feeded to other functions. But REPLACE seems not doing the job so I've been checking out other options such as seperating after and before the character ~. Details are below. I've been trying to use this formula to extract values from a delimited database which I open with excel. The formula that has brought me close is =IF(ISNUMBER(E51)=FALSE,LEFT(E51,LEN(E51)- FIND("~",E51)),E51)

14010~000
3210~0000

When I import the database, the figures above have originals as 14010.00000 & 3210.00000 but transfer to excel as above. As far as I have observed 9 character spaces are displayed & the DOT transfers to ~ for some reason. I need the LEFT section of the ~

I'm trying to sort by a column with one to four digit numbers, any of which may be followed by a single letter, i.e. 1,2,3 4A,5, 10,11A,75,101A,600,705,1010B,1011A.

I'd like them to sort in the above order. I am only able to have excel 2003 sort all of the numeric cells first, followed by the cells with the alpha character.

Ive written the macro below to sort Column A according to the length of the cell values in Ascending order. Ive done this by writing the length to Column B for each value and then sorting on column B. Surely there is a more elegant method, perhaps using arrays.

Leading Spaces Causing Sort

I am trying to sort a database with about 500,000 names. For some reason, about half my data has leading spaces and half do not. I have taken a screenshot at the divide so you can see what I mean. The sort in the picture is in this order:

Column D
Column C
Column A

Is there any way to mass purge these leading spaces in Column D (column b also has the issue but the fix is not nearly as important as for column D)?
