I have about 3000 of these values per column. I need to sort the data so that column B and E are the same values. But the cells to the left and right of each B and E need to sort with it. Plus where there is a missing consecutive value I need a blank cell added...

I have two DB extracts for 2012 and 2013 with customer id's that no not repeat across the year - columns A and B. I need to arrange this from:

So the major idea is that the customers that are extinct in 2013 would appear as 0 in the Column B; customers that are the same would be aligned vs the previous year and new id's would appear on the separate row.

I have a small challenge with the following parameter
2 columns of data, the first A contains sets of calendar dates:
A1 27-4-2013
A2 27-4-2013
A3 27-4-2013
A4 28-4-2013
A5 28-4-2013
Op to 5000 lines but normally around 140 of them for each date in April 2013
Colum B contains wind speed data from a met tower
B1 15.0
B2 5.3
B3 7.9
B4 3.2
B5 32.4
What I need to find are the Highest, Lowest and Average wind speed for a specific date.
I have a NOW -1 function in field C1 I would like to use as the parameter to search for in column A so I get the last full calendar days full data set (10min values), so writing it up it sounds something like this: Look in column A line 1:5000 and if you find any date the same as in C1 then move the content of B to a new separate column D line 1:140 and when all 140 lines are extracted for the specific date then find the Highest, Lowest and Average wind speed between those extracted data.
Is it possible to sort by column, but only a specific portion of the data within the field?
For example, I have a set of numbers, 5026125120. I want to sort my spreadsheet by the 3rd and 4th digit only of that set of numbers (5026125120).
I am trying to sort a column of data in ascending order but I am not getting the results I expect. An example of the data held in the cells is:
4972-1A
4972-10A
4972-2A
4972-1B
4972-3C
When I sort it in ascending order it sorts like:
4972-10A
4972-1A
4972-1B
4972-2A
4972-3C......................
Im am looking for a way of automatically sorting the data I have in column "C" (C2:C99 to be exact).
The data represents stock codes which are a mix of text and numbers, starting with 1 letter followed by numbers.
I would prefer something I can put in the sheet tab view code section, so that when any new data is added or altered it automatically sorts the stock codes in to alphabetical then numerical order

a way, without using a macro, to have a specific column automatically sort data being pulled in from another column, so that even if the data from the initial column gets changed, that the destination column will take that change into effect and update the sort automatically?

I was just recently forced to create my first UDF and after how well it worked I now am very interested in learning more. I am trying to create a function to sort a range by the values in a specific column and return the range. I know this should be really simple but for some reason my code dies whenever it gets to my inner-most loop. I need to use this in a larger function but for now this is my only question. I did find that Excel 2007 has built in Functions for this but my company still uses 2003.

Data manipulation question here: how to dynamically filter and sort a multi-column data set? My end goal is to be able to (1) quickly collapse all columns into one single column, (2) remove all duplicates, and (3) sort the information in ascending order. The data should be sorted by Priority first and by Description second. The header row is 5 and the data is in rows 6 through 50. The first list is in A5:B50, the second C5:D50, and so on until the sixth list in K5:L50. I have a macro that works for one task list, but cannot get it to function for multiple task lists. I havet he following code which sorts data. If there is no data to sort I keep on getting a run time error. Could I add something to my code to prevent the run-time error, as sometime there won't be any data to sort. The code runs when I switch to the worksheet in question.

I have this massive spreadsheet, with the maximum rows excel will fit on one sheet. In the interest of simplicity, this is what the raw data looks like:

What I want to do is automatically get excel to group all the same names together. Then I want it to sum all the values for each name, then order by largest total value for each person, then order that by name alphabetically. In other words, the above would look like this after the sort:

Jones Jim $1000
Jones Jim $200
Jones Jan $300
White Jon $200
White Jon $100
Or, if necessary, there could be sum total rows under each name...although I don't have spare rows, so IDK. I could delete some rows if I had to, but would rather not.

I'm looking for a way to sort dates from several columns into a new single column (perhaps multiple columns if the entry columns become too numerous). I've included an example. There are currently only 4 columns, but there may be as many as 20 in the future, each with 20 dates under each heading. Any blank cells would be eliminated. If I filled a blank with a new date, that date would be placed into the chronological column. So basically, this would take the date from several different categories and create a single calendar of events.

Column 'H' shows the average of their grading from each inspection (shown in cols L,P,T etc) What I would like to develop is either a macro button that when pressed sorts them all into order according to their average score in Col H, with the highest score at the top, or to have the sheet do this automatically as the data is entered. Obviously all of the data in the engineers row (all of his inspection history) will need to move up and down accordingly, but not get left behind, or mixed up with someone else's records.

I know there might be something in VBA, but I'm not quite familiar with it, and the spreadsheet will be passed on to others who are not VBA versed and would not know how to troubleshoot if the code blew up somehow.
I was told that i might be able to use Sumproduct with Offset, but not sure how to go about it. I've attached a sample file that explains how I would like the output to be and where.

Column A I have numerical values. Column B I have a formula =(A1/36.4)*sheet1!C7. I try to drag down the formula but the value for sheet1!c7 changes as I go down (sheet1!c8 then sheet1!c9 and so on). How can I drag down the formula and have the SINGLE value from worksheet 1 carry to all rows?

This looks up if Player 1 was in the top 3 scoring zones and adds up the players total score.
I have another column in this table of data labelled 'Number of Players'. I was wondering how to lookup the total score for this player in the games he played under 6 players for example and the games he played in where there were other six players.
I've tried using that formula ^^ with variations of IF and SUMIF formulas to try and figure it out, but I keep getting formula errors or it just returns with the total score, and not just with the total score under 6 players.
I am also trying to create a graph of date on the x axis against score to date on the y axis - everytime I try, the x axis is always numbers instead of the date?
