I would like to know if it is possible to format a cell where you enter a date (08-02-2009) and it returns "08-02-09 thru 08-08-09" that weeks date range in that cell.
Format custom mm-dd-yy " Thru " mm-dd+6-yy I know will not work but is there a way to do this??
find a formula that will calculate the hours between the two below values but only take in to consideration the business hours (from 9 to 17) and exclude any weekends?
What i need is the following: In cell B1: if A1 is greater than 08:00am but less than 14:00pm than B1 should have a tick which is green, if cell A1 is greater than 14:00pm than B1 should have a cross which is red...
I dont know the correct terminology with whick to phrase my question, but I would like to know if its possible to copy say columns A-J on "worksheet A", and copy columns A-J on "worksheet B", each of which have different column widths, and paste them both to "worksheet C"?
My problem is columns A-J on "worksheet A" are perfect and copy and past fine to "worksheet C". But when I copy columns A-J from "worksheet B",which have different widths, and paste them to "worksheet C" right below what I had previously pasted from "worksheet A", the column widths interfere with each other.
I have tried a special paste, and it seems to re format everything above the current page its pasting?
I have created a multiple choice quiz maker that randomizes the questions and responses. This means that the quiz questions/responses must be copied and pasted each time a new quiz is generated. But in doing so, Excel loses formatting (such as super and sub scripting) and some special characters (like pi, alpha, the degree symbol).
Is there a way to get such things to copy properly from cell to cell, sheet to sheet, using Excel?
I would like to use the following line to calculate the formula, In the format i have already specified.
But to leave the values in the cells apposed to the formula.
This way when i delete the source sheets the results will still be left as values not formulas.
It can probably be done in 3 lines but i have to do this for 9 different rows so was wondering if there is a way of combining the three tasks into one row
i have 2 listboxes with numbers if user has selected choice in both then i want to enable okbutton. i tried in okbutton's mousemove: if listbox1.selected = true AND listbox2.selected = true then okbutton.enabled=true.
I'm trying to use conditional formatting to highlight phone calls that came in between certain hours.
The call times are in the custom format h:mm, although it could easily be changed to an Excel time format. I'm using Excel 2002. I want the cell to have a different fill color if it falls within particular time frames.
Example:
If the call came in between 22:00 and 23:59 color is light green. If the call came in between 23:59 and 08:00 the color is yellow.
However I am trying to apply this to a whole column but the numbers are not (D5,B5) moving down (to D6,B6), When I use the format painter it is taking too long as I can only merge conditional formatting on one cell at a time and I have 30 colums and 390 rows to apply this formatting to.
I have a formula that returns me a result in hours. I have a result of 1712 hours but when i try and formatt the cell to show days is says 11. (Which obviosuly isnt right)
Is there anyway to show the correct number of days?
I have a workbook which contains lots of formula and is therefore very large (about 70 mb). The sheet pulls information from field instruments every hour of every day for the entire year.
I want to write a macro, that loops through a range (B5:B8764) and copies the entire row if the value in column B is less than =NOW() - 7 days. The copied rows should then be pasted with values only exactly where they were located e.g. row 5 should be pasted back to row 5 the only difference being only the values will be pasted.
As you can see on the example i have TEST hours.xlsx, I have a file that calculate the money every doctor should take based on the working hours.
Nights, holidays and holiday night have different price/hour.
The excel is working fine…but now I have to make a formula that separates automatically based on the beginning time and the end time of the doctor’s shift the day hours tha night hours, the holiday hours and the holiday nights hours. In the excel I have fill the hours Manuscript, I need a formula to do that for me…
On the yellow cell I have try to find out the formula for the holiday hours but because the day is calculated due to a formula it is not working!!!
Simple Example: A doctor Is working from 21:00- 8:00 (next morning Sunday) he should have 1 simple hour (21:00-22:00) 9 night hours (22:00-6:00) and 2 holiday hours (6:00-8:00,)
I have data sheet that has a field minutes. I a pivot table I have the Average Minutes per category. How it the pivot table can I show the Average minutes as Days, Hrs, Minutes? I am working in Excel 2007.
how can i merge Date 1 and Time 1 into a cell ? And give me mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm format? And then a subtraction on 9/3/2008 0:00:40 - 9/2/200823:31:25, which give me a hh:mm:ss result?
A little background on what i am doing. I have a spreadsheet that tracks when i have blown the dust out of our computers. I have set up conditional formatting so that the text turns red after 300 days and the cell turns yellow after 600 days. However, some computers are in high dust environments. I would like the spreadsheet to tell me to blow the dust out of these sooner. see the attached sheet.
I have a column of numbers, in the next column I have a formula =left(a1,len(a1)-2) which chops off the last 2 digits of all in column A. when I copy the values from column B and paste special them as values they come out with an error "Convert to number". converting 20,000 cells can take some time. Is there a way that I can paste them to automactcally be numbers?
I have a problem concatenating time in excel if it is of Date + Time format.. What formula do I use to just add the time by, say, 3 hours? I'll need to use, say cell B2, which will add 3 hours to it.. What formula do I use?
Column 1: Date Call is received by helpdesk Column 2: Time Call is received by helpdesk Column 3: Drop-down list indicating Priority of call (High,Medium,Low)
In Column 4 I want to enter a formula that adds working hours only to the date and time entered in Columns 1 & 2. The time added will vary depending on what is entered in Column 3 (e.g.: if priority is High add 1 hour, Medium add 2 hours, Low add 3 hours). The working hours i need to adhere to are 09:00-17:00, Monday-Friday.
I'm using the following code (found here: [URL]......) populate dates in row 13 for a dynamic Gantt Chart...
[Code] ....
It works perfectly to display daily dates in the mm/dd format. Now I want to have an overarching month/year displayed over the entire range for any particular month by merging and centering the cells above the month's dates the above code populates, and pull in the month/year formatted as mmm-yyyy. I've attached a mock up I did manually to convey the desired result.
i work dispatch at a company and we're trying to track how long it takes for a technician to arrive on-site. my worksheet currently includes the date of call-in (E1) , time of call-in (F1), Service Date (G1), Service Time (H1), among many other field. the easy solution is to use the formula (G1+H1)-(E1+F1), and use the answer as the total amount of time, but the problem is if a customer call in at 3:00 PM and we service them at 9:00 AM the following day, it looks like it took 18 hours to arrive on-site, when in reality, since we close at 5:00 PM and open at 9:00 AM, we only took 2 hours to arrive on-site. is there any formula i can write to account for non-business hours and weekends, or is this a bit above what i should expect from excel?
Where i want add Business Hours/Days to get the Target Date.
Working hours: 8:00 AM to 19:00 PM
Urgency Type:
ND (Maximum 1 Day 11 hours) 3D (Maximum 3 Day 11 hours) 4D (Maximum 4 Day 11 hours) 5D (Maximum 5 Day 11 hours) Threshhold - 16:30 PM Weekends to be Excluded.
Holidays to be Excluded based on Country. Say I have 2 countries India and America, where America has holiday on 12/24/2012 but India does not have holiday on that Day. Hence while calculating Tgt date, India should be calculated normally, for America holiday date need to excluded(There will be a Holiday table based on the countries, not limited to 2 countries).
ex: 1) A ticket opened at 12/26/2012 8:56 AM; Target date will be 12/26/2012 19:00, in this case its 1 day 10:04 hours added to the Opened Time.
2) A ticket opened at 12/26/2012 16:56 PM; Target date will be 12/29/2012 19:00, in this case ticket opened after threshold time of 16:30, Technically ticket should start from next day i.e 12/28/2012 8:00 AM and 1 day 11 hours added to this date.
3) A ticket opened at 12/26/2012 7:56 AM(Before the begin of Working hours); Target date will be 12/26/2012 19:00, in this case its 1 day 11:00 hours added to the Opened Time.
4) A ticket opened at 12/21/2012 17:56 PM(After Threshold time); Target date will be 12/24/2012 19:00, in this case its 1 day 11:00 hours added to the Opened Time. If the above ticket belonged to America, then holiday dates(both 24 & 25) need to be skipped and Tgt date will be 12/27/2012 19:00.
Here is the Sample Data
Country Ticket Start Date/ Time Tgt Date/Time Expected Tgt Date/ Time
America ID000123 12/21/2012 18:20
[code]....
I need results to be appear in the "Tgt Date/Time" column. I have also provided results in "Expected Tgt Date/ Time".
I need to calculate the difference between two cells that are formated like this: 11/10/2006 13:00. Simple subtract only works when the date hasn't changed (the subtract formula seems to focus on the time and ignore the date).
I found a formula that will work, but the results are in regular numbers, I need the hh:mm format and if I change the format of the result column, the time displayed is wrong.
The formula is=((B2-A2)*1440)/60)
If my result is 122.6 in regular numbers, when I convert to hh:mm I get 14:00.
Is there a better way to do this? Also, is there a way to eliminate weekend & holiday hours from the calculation? This is not as important as getting the results to calculate correctly in the hh:mm format.
I have a column A with some dates at this format "dd-mm-yyyy hh-mm". In this list, some hours are missing, and I don't know which ones.
In order to find the missing hours, I created an additional column B, displaying all the hours, this way: B1=01-01-2006 00:00:00 o B1=A1
And then : B2=B1+"01:00:00"
Then, in column C, I compare both columns A and B: C1=IF(Value(B1)=Value(B2),ok,missing)
As a result, I first get some "ok", and then more and more "missing" statements, even though the dates look the same.
I checked the numerical values of my dates. At the first "missing" statement, I saw that there is a slight difference in the numerical values, at small decimals...
Can you tell me how to define my date /time in a good way, in order to avoid this kind of problems, please? (I could take the int part of the numbers, but this could lead to further errors, so I prefer to define my dates in the right way, from the beginning).
