I have a macro that allows me to select a range of columns and unhide any that are hidden. I am on the sheet "Employees", but the action happens on the sheet "Enter". I can run this macro when I am on "Employees" and jumps top "Enter" and works exactly as I want it to.
Code:
Sheets("Enter").Select
Columns("B:T").Select
Selection.EntireColumn.Hidden = False
Range("M8") = Sheets("Employees").Range("B5")
Range("I7").Select
But when I try to run it as part of another macro that begins on "Employees", I get "Run-time error '1004': Select method of Range class failed", and Columns("B:T") is highlighted.

I have just been sent a strange file, which I have attached, on its only sheet columns "A" and "B" have data entered in them, but they are not visible. You can access them if you select column "C" and use the left arrow key, but all attempts at unhiding and changing the column width are fuitless.
I have tried selecting the ENTIRE sheet, then Home>Format>Unhide Columns but it does nothing I try selecting the entire sheet, then Home>Format>Column Width and setting it to something, like "20", but again it is fruitless.
I even tried using a macro in the "Immediate Window" to ask Excel whether the columns are hidden (by using "?Columns(1).Hidden" and it returned "False") then I used a similar macro ("Cells.EntireColumn.ColumnWidth = 12.75") and again - nothing! :O

I am looking or a code, (Or formula if one exists) to hide or un-hide columns depending on what is entered into a cell. I have attached an example to help clarify what i mean. Basically i want:
If A2 is empty, hide columns C, D, E & F
If A2 = Apple, Unhide columns C & D, but keep E & F hidden
If A2 then becomes Banana, rehide C & D and unhide D&F

All, can I protect my worksheet while at the same time allow users to unhide a specific range of cells?
I'm hiding cell range FA:FK, but based on certain conditions I want to allow the user to unhide the cells but I do not want the user to be able to unhide any other hidden ranges. if there is a way to do this without using VBA. If it cannot be done with VBA

I have recorded the below macro and I am not very happy with it. enhance the macro and add the following:
I need to copy the range "ROW" and past it below the range "MENU". Also the range "ROW" (ROW = copy of 3 line with some cells merged) is hidden.
I need to unhide and hide back the rang ROW. Right know I have to leave the range appearing otherwise my macro doesn't work.
HTML Code:
Sub ADD()
' ActiveWindow.LargeScroll Down:=2
Range("ROW").Select
Range("ROW").Activate
Application.CutCopyMode = False
Selection.Copy
' ActiveWindow.LargeScroll Down:=-2
Rows("7:7").Select
Selection.Insert Shift:=xlDown
Range("A7:A9").Select
End Sub

When I hide columns in a column chart the different fill colors I used on specific columns no longer show up with the colors I originally had. Is there a way to maintain the proper sequence of column fill colors even when some columns are hidden?

I have a Sheet which gathers data from another Sheet in the same Workbook, then uses that data to produce more output. However at it's smallest it is only 2 rows of data deep and 2 columns of data wide, and at it's greatest it is 100 rows deep by 48 columns wide.
I would like to display only the relevant output by "Unhiding" the completed rows and columns.
After headings etc the rows start at 28 and the columns at N.
I have written the following which works for the rows but nothing happens with the columns,
Private Sub Worksheet_Activate()
Dim MyRange As Range
Dim MyRow As Integer
Set MyRange = Range("a28")
MyRange.Select
Do
MyRow = MyRange.Row
If MyRange.Value > 0 Then
Rows(MyRow).Select
Selection.EntireRow.Hidden = False
End If
Set MyRange = MyRange.Offset(1, 0)
Loop Until MyRow = 128
End Sub...

I am trying to create a macro to unhide only a row at a time, from around 150 hidden rows altogether. It is basically to give the effect of adding extra rows to a "table" that a user could then input with new data (I have to do this way according to other set-up in the workbook), but this isn't very important to do with this question. When I do a Format<Row<Unhide from the Excel menu, it always unhides ALL of the hidden rows. I have fiddled around but can't seem to find a way to avoid this happening, all I want is for just one row to unhide. I thought it might depend what cell/s I had highlighted, but I haven't found a way that makes it work.

I HID 4 rows using this help section. (Format - Hide)
Then, I modified several column widths simply by placing my curser at the top of the column and pulling it smaller or larger.
(I don't know if this did or did not cause my problem) which is simply that - I am now unable to find my hidden rows.
I know where they are supposed to be, but when I highlight them and click (Format - Unhide) nothing happens.
I tried (Find and Select - go to special) and no white bar shows up.
Can sombody please tell this frustrated Newby How to find the rows I just hid 1 hour ago?
If I posted in the wrong place, I appologise as I spent more time trying to figure out where and how to post than I did trying to solve my hidden row problem.

I have below a code that is selecting from A11 down as far as there is data and across a certain number of columns then sets a print area.
Currently the columns go A, B, JW, JX, JY, JZ, KA, KB as C through to JV are hidden. I have tried to offset the columns by 7 to see if it will select A-KB but it is selecting cells that are hidden and only selecting A-G. I need it to go past the hidden columns. Here is the code:
[Code] ......
Could I also get a code to go from A10 and move over to KB and create a range from there e.g. KB-KJ and last row from there?

I was just recently forced to create my first UDF and after how well it worked I now am very interested in learning more. I am trying to create a function to sort a range by the values in a specific column and return the range. I know this should be really simple but for some reason my code dies whenever it gets to my inner-most loop. I need to use this in a larger function but for now this is my only question. I did find that Excel 2007 has built in Functions for this but my company still uses 2003.
My
Public Function SortRange(rngToSort As Range, valCol As Integer)
Dim Swapper As Variant
Dim i As Integer, _
j As Integer, _
k As Integer
For i = 1 To rngToSort.Rows.Count
For j = 1 To rngToSort.Rows.Count - i
If rngToSort(j + 1, valCol) < rngToSort(j, valCol) Then
For k = 1 To rngToSort.Columns.Count
Swapper = rngToSort(j, k)
rngToSort(j, k) = rngToSort(j + 1, k)
rngToSort(j + 1, k) = Swapper
Next k
End If
Next j
Next i
SortRange = rngToSort
End Function

=(SUMIF($J:$J, "Player1",$K:$K)+SUMIF($L:$L,"Player1",$M:$M)+SUMIF($N:$N,"Player1",$O:$O))-SUM($I:$I)
This looks up if Player 1 was in the top 3 scoring zones and adds up the players total score.
I have another column in this table of data labelled 'Number of Players'. I was wondering how to lookup the total score for this player in the games he played under 6 players for example and the games he played in where there were other six players.
I've tried using that formula ^^ with variations of IF and SUMIF formulas to try and figure it out, but I keep getting formula errors or it just returns with the total score, and not just with the total score under 6 players.
I am also trying to create a graph of date on the x axis against score to date on the y axis - everytime I try, the x axis is always numbers instead of the date?

Is there any way to copy a column that has a specific range
=COUNTIF(B10:BE10,"*p")
=COUNTIF(B12:BE12,"*p") etc
to copy that to a column lets say 5 columns to the right without my range changing?
=COUNTIF(G10:BJ10,"*p")
=COUNTIF(G12:BJ12,"*p")
I need the same range in all columns, and I cant seem to accomplish this.

I have a table which is refreshed from a view on our SQL server. I use a part of this data further on and would like to automate the following: I would like to have a range set which I can use to loop through data. The range should hold the filtered data of table "PremiumTable", the columns "Grouping2", "Price", "Grower"
I have found a couple of posts giving the ability to create a range of visible cells and specific columns, but I wasn't able to combine this yet.

I want to Freeze my Header Row (A16 to T16) on my spreadsheet but I can't seem to get it to freeze. I wanted to have it freeze when that row reached the Top of the page but all I can do is freeze it and the 15 rows above it. Can one row be made to be visible at all times? I don't think so as I asked this question before but thought I would start by asking it again...
Now my workaround for that was to put the header row at the top of the page as well and freeze it. This works but when you initially open the spreadsheet it look weird because you see a header row on top and one 15 rows below it.
My question is is there a way to hide row 1 until a specific cell becomes active and then the code can undide the row? I want row one to become visible when the user gets to cell A41. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this or do you have any other suggestions for me to try?

I am making a spreadsheet in which I have been asked to have certain column greyed-out based on an answer that was given in a dropdown menu. Specifically, a dropdown menu in column D asks if the client was a Youth or an Adult. Depending on what the anwer is, other columns in the spreadsheet will be greyed-out; different ones for each answer. My problem is, I need this to occur for the active row being editted. For example: The first row that the user can input data into is row 4. If D4 is answered with "Adult" then certain other columns are greyed-out. However, if the next time the user updates the spreadsheet with information for a different client (now entering information in row 5) and they select "Youth" for column D5, then different columns get greyed-out. The columns that are greyed-out will depend upon the answer for the dropdown menu in column D for whatever row is actively being editted.

Currently running a macro which selects all the rows between two specific words and pastes the selection into another worksheet. However, it runs this search on the entire workbook, whereas I'd just like it to run the search in a particular column (column D in this instance).
This is the code as it currently stands:
VB:
With ActiveSheet
.Range(.Cells.Find("financial assets"), .Cells.Find("liabilities")).EntireRow.Select
End With
.Selection.Copy
Sheets("Paste Currency").Activate
Range("A1").Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _
:=False, Transpose:=False
Is there any way to focus the search on only one column?

I'm using dynamic named ranges a lot recently. One thing that bothers me is that I have to do so many for one range.
For example I have a named range from A1:G30. Now I can use this named_range to do vlookup etc. but when I for example want to use the match with the index function I have to define a new range because for the match function to use it need only one column or row. Is there some hidden command I could use like named_range_row1 ? This would make it so much easier to read the code and I dont have to construct so many named_ranges.

I have a macro that converts all my PDF Purchase Orders to a text file and inserts the data/text horizontally into another document. However because the PDF's or the text within the PDF can be fomatted differently (that is on different lines etc) it therefore imports the information and it looks mis-aligned.I have attached a simple spreadsheet showing some sample text as it is imported and then below this how it should look like, all in line.
The range where the highlighted text in red is, is variable (but say nothing more than a variant of 10 columns). The text can also be Uppercase or Lowercase.So, I was wondering if there is macro code to find the "text" on various rows/columns and align it all in another column?

I am having trouble with my VBA code, it hides groups of rows (projects) based on the contents of corresponding cells above. these have either 'yes' or 'no' in them (indicating if the person is active in that project). The Yes/No is formula based from another sheet.
what I am trying to do, is have particular cells, withing the projects rows, locked (as they are also populated by formulas) but have other cells open for editing.
when I try and do this i get an error with my VBA, i am assuming that as cells are locked, the VBA is prohibited form hiding inactive projects/rows. i tried an addition at the bottom but this hasn't worked
Code:
Sub Worksheet_Calculate()
Dim i As Long, StartRow As Long, EndRow As Long
StartRow = 13
