Conditional Formatting For Range Of Values In Single Cell?
Mar 1, 2014
I have a series of columns (L - X) each representing a diagnosed disorder (Dx), coded as binary, with 1=Positive Diagnosis (Success). The reference cell contains diagnostic codes; for each respective Dx column I need a 1 or 0, obviously. Each Dx category has a range of values (Dx codes), so I need to write syntax that reflects this range. For example, =IF(A1=>141,AND(A1=<239.99)),"1","0")
In other words, if cell value is 141 through 239.99 then return 1, else 0
Would it be something like this:
=IF(AND(A1=>141,OR(A1=<239.99)),"1","0")
I have a spreadsheet which uses conditional formatting to highlight cells with certain values. It's works perfectly, except for a single cell. The formatting formula is and should be exactly the same as other cells in the sheet. For whatever reason, this cell will not change with the formatting rules. The cell is not protected, it doesn't have any oddball values or anything that I can see.
I want to do conditional formatting based on two cell values.
i want to do conditional format the column 'R' based on clolumns 'J' and 'R'. column 'J' is a text column named PRIORITY which can hold the values P1,P2,P3 an P4. Column 'R' is nothing but difference of two columns 'M' and 'H'(both are time stamps).Column'R' is in below format. =TEXT(M4-H4,"h:mm:ss").
column M and H are in below format:
eg: 9/11/13 9:41 AM
Now i want to format the column'R' like if column J ="P2" and column 'R' > "00:10:00"(10 mins) =it should become red. if column J="P3" and column 'R'>"00:30:00"(30 mins) = it should become red.
I need to highlight the cell in the calendar that matches both the task and the date in the data table. For example- in the situation above, D1 would be highlighted.
I have a range of data on sheet1 say A1:A10 with random letters in each cell. On sheet2, I also have random letters and number in column A. What am trying to do is find a formula which if any of the data on sheet1 can be found in say A1 of sheet2 then shade the cell a given colour or if formula in B2 then show True otherwise false if not found. then do the same for the remainder of the cells on sheet2 which am assuming will be to just copy the formula in B1 of sheet2 or the conditional format in A1 whichever comes first.
I have a large spreadsheet in which I have reached the limit for conditional formatting. (i.e. 2050 rows)
To resolve this I can add a single expression for conditional formatting across all cells. This means I need to create a more complex expression.
I effectively have two types of conditional formatting that are very similar. I have the standard Yes, No & A/L which I wand to shade accordingly. I then have alternating columns of Yes , No , A/L . I have introduced spaces to stop these values from being counted by another formula but still display yes and no. I want the shading to be the same in both cases.
I have built the following expression which does not seem to work.
So I've applied conditional formatting to columns A and B to highlight and bold any blank entries. However since those guys tend to show up a thousand rows or so down I don't have anything to alert me that there is a problem. I know that I can just filter those columns to check but I'm not the only one using this sheet so I'd really like to have a visual cue.
Is there a way to have cell J1 highlight if any of the cells in the range (A2:H3000) have been bolded?
How to copy and paste conditional formatting with our changing the cell values. My first row of data starts in row 4 and here is what I have in D4
If D4 is less than or equal to AA4, AW4, BS4, CO4 then it will highlight D4
Now I want to copy that format and paste it for all rows in column D. The problem I'm having though is when I paste the formula it doesn't change to match the row I'm on. For example, when I paste it in D5 this is what I get
If D5 is less than or equal to AA4, AW4, BS4, CO4 then it will highlight D5
How do I paste it so that it will update to show AA5, AW5, BS5, and CO5. I want to be able to do this for 500 rows.
I am working with the Conditional Formatting, which is fine for one cell. Here is what I am trying to do: IF cell in $A1 = 1 then bold $B2:$M2 and apply solid line border to top of cell ranges. I have tried conditional formatting but it only formats the cells in column A. And I can't seem to find a BOLD statement for the cell formulas.
I want to set a conditional format to cell A1 with a value in cell P1 When the value in P1 is between 0 and 10 the conditional value in P1 should be set.
Note
cell A1 is also set with a conditional format to put a border around it when there's a value in A1 (cellvalue is not equal to " ") So the formula referencing P1 would be a second condition.
This is a conditional formatting problem I have not been able to resolve:
I have a range, say A1:N30
Each cell contains a text/number combination.
I would like to highlight each cell on a specific row if the vale exists within the row above - the issue is that the cell values are not in the same columns.
I have attached a sample workbook with the desired output.
how to apply conditional formatting via VBA to a range of cells based on input from another range of cells. Obviously this would be easy in Excel 2010, but I'm still using 2003 at the office and it needs to stay in this format to be readable by other users:
For cells M8:EK8, my conditional formatting condition 2: Formula Is =AND($E$8>=M2,(($E$8-$D$8)>=(N2-$M$2))), color index is 40 condition 3: Formula Is =AND($F$8<=M2,$G$8>=M2), color index is 39 I want to add: condition 4: Formula Is =AND($H$8<=M2,$I$8>=M2), color index is 40 condition 5: Formula Is =AND($J$8<=M2,$K$8>=M2), color index is 39 and so on
The cells in the range M8:EK8 are blank, they only get colored based on input added to D8 to K8. If there is no input, then the cells should be uncolored.
I'm trying to find a single conditional formula which summarizes multiple text occurrences in a range of cells. I managed to summarize the occurrences in a single cell, but my challenge is that I'm looking for a single (array?) formula for this.
I have a worksheet with column A which contains the condition and column B which contains a text field. I'm looking for a single formula to summarize all the 'AB' occurrences in the cells B4..B11 where the column A is Apple. I managed to do this by using an additional column (column C), however as my worksheet contains over 10000 rows, I would like to use a single conditional (array?) formula summarize the AB occurrences (multiple ' AB's can occur in a single cell) in stead of having to use an additional field per row.
I have attached a sheet as an example. I'm looking for a single array formula in cell C11 which summarizes the 'AB' occurrences in cells B4..B11 where column A is Apple.
Summary of performance of various products against target is as follows,
Product vs Target Color Code Result
CH4OH Green 1.0
[Code] ........
I need the final result automated as follows,
If 2 green of the 4 products, then final result Gree If 2 Amber of the 4 products, then final result amber If 2 Red of the 4 products, final result Red
Im using access 2003 and the conditional formatting is only limited to 3. But i wanted 5. I was told it can be done using VBA. But I've got no programming experience whatsover.
Basically this is what i want, but i dont know how to translate this VB
IF Cell Value = >1 then make the value "Bold", "Bordered", and "Fill" with Orange colour. IF Cell Value = "H" then make the text "Bold", Bordered, and "Fill" with Green colour. IF Cell Value = "S" then make the text "Bold", Bordered, and "Fill" with Yellow colour IF Cell Value = "A" then make the text "Bold", Bordered, and "Fill" with Blue colour IF Cell Value = "U" then make the text "Bold", Bordered, and "Fill" with Red Colour
I am having a very difficult time trying to figure out a conditional formatting formula for something that seems very simple. There are 3 conditions I would like to apply to cell B2: If the value of I2 is less than or equal to 24, but greater than or equal to 21, shade B2 red. If the value of I2 is less than or equal to 20, but greater than or equal to 12, shade B2 orange. If the value of I2 is less than or equal to 11, but greater than or equal to 8, shade B2 yellow. I am sure I am missing something quite simple here.
Can Conditional Formatting be set on multiple values? I cannot get this to work with any formula, the cell values are not between two values. For example: for value = D or R, or X change color to green. (I would have another condition within a range F to Q)
Using conditional formatting to make all the cells that contain numbers and are formatted to percentage format make display in red color? let's say I want to set this conditional formatting rule initially after just opening the excel book and afterwards when I type in values/text etc. into the cells I want the cells where I have input numbers and chose the percentage format to come out in red color? and all the rest stay in black color?
I need a conditional format that highlights duplicate values in different color. For example 221 and 133 are duplicate values in a range, but I want them to not show only in red. I want duplicate values in the range to show in an individual color.
I have an idea of running a macro that counts all the duplicates, paste them in a separate sheet where only the duplicated values will show, then have a regular conditional format of "Equal to".
I have a set of values on Sheet1. These 'original' values will never change.
I then have a set of values on Sheet2. The 'updated' values get updated every month.
On Sheet3 I want to show the updated values again, pretty much a copy of Sheet2, but where a value is higher than that on Sheet1 or lower than a value on Sheet1 I want to use conditional formatting to show this.
Is there a simple way to use conditional formatting in such a way? I have a long list of values so don't want to individually create a rule for each cell.
